  • Jaguar Shows F-PACE SVR Before Official Release. What Should We Expect At Geneva Show?

2016 Jaguar F-PACE SVRJaguar digitally showcased the F-TYPE SVR, the extreme version of the well-known sporty car ahead of its official debut in Geneva on March  1. Especially created to exploit the lightweight materials, enhanced tractability and day-to-day usability, the F-TYPE SVR can finish the 0 to 100km/h (62mph) sprint in only 3,5 seconds and has a top speed of 360km/h (200mph).

Furthermore, by boosting and improving all of the most important  systems if the vehicle, Jaguar team managed to deliver the lightest, quickest and most powerful F-TYPE production series car. So, let’s check out what makes this vehicle so interesting.

    Drivetrain system

F-TYPE SVR is geared with the latest and greatest Jaguar Land Rover 5.0-liter supercharged V8 power unit that delivers not only titanic power, but also contributes to smooth and pleasurable ride. IT offers a total of 575hp (422kW)  and  516lb-ft of torque.

But the monstrous engine is not the only component that gives this vehicle its incredible performance capabilities. The enlarged air intakers in the front bumper, along with the restyled charge air coolers and hood vents further improve the cooling system and contribute to performance and engine efficiency.

Also important for the incredible performance is the lightweight exhaust system.  It is so well designed that reduces the backpressure and eliminates about 16kg of mass from the vehicle. Also, it features and special split muffler design that further reduces weight and improves the overall handling of the vehicle. Cool, right?

    2016 Jaguar F-PACE SVR

F-TYPE SVR also benefits from massive weight reduction improvements. Without the optional equipments, the vehicle weights with a total of 25kg less than the AWD F-TYPE R and with about 50kg lighter, if equipped with the optional Carbon Ceramic Matrix brake system and carbon-fiber roof.

And there are wider and exclusively-made Pirelli P Zero 265/35/ZR20 and 305/30/ZR20 tires that provide impeccable grip capabilities and handling improvements. Also, the new 20x9J and 20x11J forged aluminum wheels safe about 13kg of overall weight and also look stunningly good.

Of course, this massive power and enhanced performance needs some control. And as always Jaguar team made its best to provide it. The F-TYPE SVR comes with Super Performance brake system with large 380mm and 376mm front and rear brake discs. But the good people of Jaguar also know that there could be some buyers who are still unsatisfied and because of that they offer optional Jaguar Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) braking system. It grants users with even larger 398mm and 380mm discs and six- and four-piston monoblock calipers. Sweet, right?

    Aerodynamic features

In order to cut drag, the front bumper is slightly extended outwards. This helps to mask the vehicle as much of the wheels as possible and to improve the airflow. Also, the front valance and front underway further contribute to drag reduction and do improve the engine cooling.

SEE ALSO: Jaguar F-TYPE British Design Edition Reminds Why Jaguar Keeps Its Strong Positions

There is also one device that is probably one of the most useful in the whole drivetrain system of the F-TYPE SVR. This is indeed the deployable rear spoiler. Its highly optimized design is effective and aerodynamically-efficient in every position. Let us tell you what that means.

    2016 Jaguar F-PACE SVR

When the vehicle is in normal mode, the spoiler deploys once the speed reaches 60mph and 70mph for Convertible and Coupe. The spoiler also deploys automatically when the driver selects the Dynamic mode. In its raised position, the spoiler, along with the other aerodynamic-boosting features further reduce drag and lift coefficients by a total of 2.5% and overall of 15% when compared to the predecessor models. And when the spoiler is in its lower position, the improvements are with a total of 7.5% and 45% respectively. Impressive, right?

    Interior styling

The cabin offers exclusive materials and fabrics, along with latest hi-tech gadgets.

Driver and passengers will be delighted to sit on the cosseting 14-way SVR performance seats, finished in Jet leather with distinctive Lozange Quilt pattern, contrast stitching and micro-piping and headrest, proudly showing the SVR logo. There is also an optional Siena Tan or Red leather upholstery.

    2016 Jaguar F-PACE SVR

Furthermore, the 770W Meridian surround audio system, along with the touch-screen navigation and infotainment system remain standard features, along with the Jaguar InControl Protect, Jaguar InControl Remote functionality.

So, what do you think about the latest Jaguar creation? We do believe that there is still much to be shown at the Geneva Motor Show. Stay with us for further information!

  • Range Rover Sport SVR Tested to the Limit [VIDEO]

This year Range Rover Sport SVR has been crowned “The fastest Land Rover” ever produced, due to the blistering performance it shows. Land Rover has just released a film, which shows the adjustability, poise and body control of the model. The video can be viewed below. In it you will see how the Range Rover is put through its paces. The dramatic film shows how Mike Cross, the Chief Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover, demonstrates the aforementioned qualities of the vehicle. Oh, and we forgot to say that this Land Rover is not only the fastest ever produced in company’s line-up, but also the most powerful one.

In the footage below, you will also see how and hear Cross’ explanations of sophisticated drivetrain and advanced four-wheel drive chassis technology of the Sport SVR. They make it possible for the vehicle to deliver exceptional high speed handling characteristics. And all of this happens at the Rockingham circuit in the UK.

The SVR has been created by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations team. It is driven by the V8 petrol engine that produces 550 horsepower (404 kW) and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to these “horses”, the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 4.5 seconds.

As this video shows how the Range Rover Sport SVR takes the level of performance in its stride. It displays great on-the-limit balance, even when its range of electronic traction and stability aids are turned off.

  • The 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR is a high-performance vehicle

    Range-Rover-SVR_thumbRange-Rover-SVR_651

Range Rover has proudly presented the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR, which is the first Range Rover to come with the new high-performance SVR badge.

The new vehicle comes with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that produces 550 horsepower (404 kW) of power and 502 lb-ft (681 Nm) of torque, which is 40 HP (29 kW) and 41 lb-ft (56 Nm) of torque more than what the standard supercharged V8 engine produces. The advanced ZF 8HP70 eight-speed transmission and the four-wheel drive chassis are also tuned to complement this fantastic performance. The engine’s advanced and highly efficient design characteristics include: low internal friction; high-pressure direct injection with a centrally mounted, multi-hole, spray-guided injection system; dual independent variable camshaft timing (VCT); and an advanced intelligent Stop/Start system that stops the engine instead of idling and instantly restarts it when the driver is ready to proceed. This allows the car to achieve 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in just 4.6 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 162 mph (261 km/h), though.

Showcasing an electronically controlled two-stage active exhaust, the SVR produces an inspired soundtrack at higher engine speeds while maintaining refinement during steady-state driving. Emphasizing all-terrain capability, vehicles are equipped with 21-inch alloy wheels with 275/45 R21 all-season Continental Cross Contact tires.

The new 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR also comes with an eight-speed ZF 8HP70 transmission with eight close ratios and reduced shift times (by 50 per cent) for shorter and better shifts while utilizing engine inertia for a sense of acceleration through the shift. The transmission’s adaptive shift strategy monitors acceleration and brake inputs, lateral cornering forces, kickdown requests and even the severity of gradients, before choosing one of 25 pre-determined programs to seamlessly adapt to driver behavior and road conditions. Sportier driving triggers more aggressive gearshifts and defers upshifts.

On the outside the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR offers a front bumper with muscular trapezoidal air intakes, dark Range Rover script on the clamshell hood, which also features revised vents, and a new grille in a dark finish that contrasts with the headlights’ LED signature lighting. At the side of the vehicle, an all-new fender incorporates a distinctively designed vent, while unique side moldings add muscularity. At the rear, prominent Range Rover Sport SVR badging and a pronounced high-level spoiler with a centrally mounted brake light signal the vehicle’s sporting intent. The unique rear bumper features a gloss black diffuser, which incorporates unique quad exhaust pipes, instantly differentiating this high-performance derivative. Additional brake cooling has also been introduced for the six-piston Brembo brake set-up, ensuring optimal stopping power.

On the inside the SVR sports distinctive leather sports seats with generous legroom and full 14-way electric adjustment. The rear seats have been redesigned to echo the performance-oriented front seats. This leads to having space for a fifth passenger. They also offer full 60/40 folding capacity and up to 62.2 cubic ftee (1761 liters) of load space.

The 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR will sell for USD 110,475 excluding a USD 925 destination fee. This is a minimum suggested retail price so local pricing may vary.

  • 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR – The Fastest SUV on Nurburgring – 8:14

Land Rover has announced the most powerful Range Rover Sport, yet. The 2015 SVR model is now the fastest SUV on Nurburgring Nordschleife. It is scheduled to hit the market in the beginning of the next year.

2015 Range Rover Sport SVR is powered by the well-known 5.0 liter supercharged V8 engine boosted to 550HP (405 kW). It is able to do a lap around Nurburgring in just 8 minutes and 14 seconds. The record is set with a production-spec Range Rover Sport SVR driven by a test driver.

“The Nürburgring is a benchmark for vehicle development and testing, and cars become stronger, more durable and faster over its 13 miles and 70-plus corners. We wanted to see whether an SUV could behave like a performance car in this challenging environment. The results are spectacular and the Range Rover Sport SVR has demonstrated outstanding on-road performance capabilities.”, commented Mike Cross, Chief Engineer Vehicle Integrity.

The Range Rover Sport SVR is developed by Special Operations division established by Jaguar and Land Rover. The sport utility vehicle comes with a complete aerodynamics package, quad exhaust arrangement as well as a high performance brake system and big alloy wheels fitted with performance low-profile tires.
