The advertisement is creative and is one of the most versatile and untraditional sports we have ever seen. And by the way it gives you the chance of looking inside Christopher Walken’s closet.

The Academy Award-winner makes the 60 seconds ad experience a true masterpiece. In it he uses a colorfully stylish sock, which he compares to the ordinary beige one. With this he demonstrates how the next gen 2016 Kia Optima stands out in a segment filled with entries that look and drive the same, namely the midsize sedan segment.

According to Kia (and Walken) these qualities are contrary to basic, boring and uninspired. Walken explains in the spot, “There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who are content to blend in … then there are those who expect more. They’re exciting.”

  • New Honda Civic Super Bowl Spot [VIDEO]

2012-Honda-Civic-thumbEvert tought what would it be to have an actual “brainstorm”. Well it seems that the people at Honda are having one on a daily basis and the results are quite dramatic. What made us think so is  the new Honda Super Bowl 00.30 second spot about how a Civic is born.

It is a nice composition of CGI graphics, deep and serious narration and clever metaphors. The spark which can be seen as passion and innovation starts off from the basis of the factory and goes trough daring leaps, fears, challenges and obstacles until it culminates into the great reality that is the Civic. But lets not get too literary – Now in its ninth generation, the 2012 Civic is available from just $26 027 for the entry level (SE) 1.4-litre 100PS i-VTEC.

“We have timed the launch of the TV advert to coincide with the first cars arriving in showrooms to really maximise awareness. The advert is a synopsis of the unknown journey the engineers took to continuously improve the Civic and is brought to life in a dramatic reveal of the new model at the end.” commented Martin Moll, Head of Marketing, Honda (UK)

It also encourages the active audience transitioning between their twenties and their thirties to conquer their aspirations by completing their own “Leap List.” It’s no secret that the CR- is a pillar vehicle in the Honda lineup, but the goal of the ad is to bring to it even more fun and youthfulness, which are inherent to the brand.

To go further into details, Broderick is playing himself while drawing on his well-known coming-of-age character, which the CR-V target audience grew up watching. More importantly, the commercial reminds viewers to go out and embrace life by doing whatever you want to do and not just the things included in the “have to” list.

  • Hyundai with 5 Super Bowl Spots

Hyundai-spot-shadowHealth and safety officials should be watching carefully because lo and behold, a Hyundai Genesis can perform CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation). See that and many more with the car company’s ad campaign which is set to take over the Super Bowl for a fifth year with five spots this time.

“Think Fast” is the name of the one we really liked. It features a Genesis Coupe R-Spec riding trough a generic wasteland with two individuals inside it – One venerable passenger who obviously knows a thing or two about success in business and a seemingly bored driver which is rather like a subordinate or a step son. Either way, Mr. Jenson (or Bob, the passenger) unwittingly suffers a heart failure much to the distress of the now in panic Anderson (driver). What follows is evident really. We just want to say that we really liked the idea of utilizing sudden bursts of torque to revitalize the human body. Then again, we also enjoyed watching that comedic duo being thrown around in the cabin as the seat belts obviously did their work just fine. So a point for Hyundai there. We also liked the safety annotation at the 0:15 second mark made to discourage people from actually trying out this stunt… unless they are professional drivers, on a closed road…. or at least with a medical degree.

  • Audi S7 Spot on 2012 Super Bowl

Audi-S7-2013-shadowThe Super Bowl is as much about the commercials as it is for the football itself. So for the fifth consecutive year, Audi will air a :60 spot during the first quarter of the Super Bowl with focus landing on LED technology. The San Francisco-based Venables Bell & Partners studio is in charge with the creative ad. The only other known fact is that the 2013 Audi S7 sedan will also be somehow featured. The rest can be seen on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012 when the big game starts.

LED usage in headlights first started appearing on Audi’s 10 years ago and the effect on the market since then has been tremendous – virtually every other car maker now offers LED with their latest products. Today, Audi LED lights are efficient and elegant. Traditional lights take 0.2 seconds to engage while LEDs are immediately activated making driving safer, faster. In addition to safety, LED lights save resources by using 50-percent less power required from the alternator – which in turn reduces the load put on the vehicle’s engine – and can last the lifetime of a vehicle.

    Audi S7 (2013)

The new Audi S7 is also efficient and elegant with the sleek profile of a coupe and the four doors of a sedan. Standard technology includes Audi connect™  which enables you to browse Google Maps™ and Google Search™ and provides for you a Wi-Fi® hotspot. Hope that connection is fast enough to keep up with the S7 for under the hood lays a 4.0 TFSI 420 hp/406 lb-ft of torque masterpiece which will take you anywhere you want in a matter of seconds.

Past Super Bowl spots on Audi have included the A8, the “green car of 2009” A3 TDI and the legendary R8 and they have all been pretty good. Can’t wait to see what Venables Bell & Partners have come up with this time.
