  • Hennessey H700 Corvette C8 Stingray

Hennessey, the Texas-based hypercar manufacturer, and high-performance vehicle creator, has supercharged America’s premier mid-engine sports car. The new Hennessey Supercharged H700 Corvette C8 Stingray, fitted with a muscular blower, vaults the standard midengined Stingray coupe to exotic car power and torque levels that surpass even the revered 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

The eighth-generation Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray coupe is shipped with a mid-mounted LT2 6.2-liter V8 engine. Naturally aspirated in stock form, it delivers 490 bhp and 465 lb-ft of torque. However, to unleash the untapped potential of the American small-block V8, Hennessey’s Texas-based engineering team fits a high-flow centrifugal supercharger, an air induction system with an air-to-water intercooler, and an optional enhanced cat-back exhaust.

Completed with updated high-performance engine software, the ‘H700’ boasts an explosive 708 bhp and 638 lb-ft — a 44 percent increase in horsepower and a 37 percent increase in torque over the factory rating. In terms of power output, the supercharged H700 Corvette C8 Stingray even outshines Chevrolet’s flagship C8 Z06 whose naturally-aspirated 5.5-liter LT6 flat-plane crank V8 engine produces 670 bhp and 460 lb-ft.

John Hennessey, founder and CEO: “The stock C8 Corvette Stingray is an extraordinary sports car, yet Chevrolet left some V8 performance on the table. Our exciting ‘H700’ supercharger package integrates seamlessly with the 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and our exhaust upgrade sounds much more aggressive than stock.

Considering that our power and torque surpass the factory Z06, the Hennessey ‘H700’ is arguably the best value high-performance supercar in the world.” The complete Hennessey Supercharged ‘H700’ Corvette C8 Stingray upgrade package includes the supercharger, intercooler, engine tune, lightweight wheels, cat-back exhaust, and graphics priced at MSRP $49,950.

The 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels are offered with a Brushed Aluminum, Satin Black, or Graphite finish, while the striking vinyl Hennessey Heritage Livery is offered in Blue, White, Black, Silver, or Red. A power-only package, with just the supercharger upgrade and warranty, is offered for MSRP $34,950. All packages feature ‘Hennessey’ and ‘H700’ badging and a serial numbered plaque.

  • 2014 Hennessey Chevrolet Corvette Stingray HPE700 Twin Turbo To Debut At Boca Raton Concours

2014 Hennessey Chevrolet Corvette Stingray HPE700 Twin Turbo is least to say exclusive. It is the most powerful HPE Stingray ever and even more – it will be built in only 24 examples. This limited edition Chevrolet will be unveiled on 21st of February at the Boca Raton Concours in south Florida.

This Stingray is powered by a twin turbo system that utilizes a pair of precision ball bearing 62-mm turbochargers. The HPE system has been handcrafted and uses mandrel-bent stainless steel tubing, dual turbo wastegates, and twin blow-off valves on the intercooler’s TIG-welded aluminum plenum.

To be more precise, due to the tuning this Chevy is capable of generating 707 hp (520 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 895 Nm (661 lb-ft) of torque. The powertrain is coupled with either a 7-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

The result of all this power is stunning. In details, when the car is equipped with 20-inch drag radial tires, it reaches 100 km/h from standstill in just 2.9 seconds, securing its way to the top speed of 210 mph.

More control for the additional power has been ensured by the HPE CarbonAero package which comprises of a carbon-fiber front spoiler, side sills and rear lip spoiler. They provide additional overall downforce.

The visual stance of the vehicle is rounded off by the 10-spoke Hennessey H10 forged monoblock wheels coupled with factory Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Due to the lightweight of these wheels, the car becomes over19 lb lighter. This results in the minimization of both rotational mass and unsprung weight.

  • 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 With HPE500 Upgrade

hennessey-hpe500-corvette-shadowhennessey-hpe500-corvette-01Hennessey do not fool around when it comes to sheer engine power. Take the 2014 Corvette C7 for example. With an added punch from the company’s HPE kits, these Stingrays vary in power to up to 1000 hp. A total number of 500 units is planned

This one here has an HPE500 kit which means it is as true to the original as it can be. Still, Hennessey’s work is evident when we look at the stainless steel long-tube exhaust manifolds, and the stainless steel midpipes, the installed high flow catalytic converters, and the engine management system tweak. Thus, the Corvette’s 6.2 L LT1 engine develops 507 hp which is a surplus of 50 hp when compared to outgoing models. Torque stands at 518 lb-ft @ 3,800 rpm. Everything has been trialled and tested by Hennessey themselves (see dyno video bellow).

A few bonus features that come with the HPE500 upgrade are the designating exterior badges, the carbon fiber door sills, premium floormats and serial-numbered dash and engine plaques. Optionally, you can also add some visuals. Fancy a CarbonAero rear lip spoiler? Throw in four H10 Monoblock wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on them, carbon-ceramic brakes, a Penske adjustable suspension upgrade, custom leather seats and you’ve got yourself a real eye-catcher.

  • Callaway Introduces Chevrolet Corvette Stingray SC610

2014-Callaway-Chevrolet-Corvette-Stingray-THUMBCallaway Chevrolet Corvette Stingray SC610 is a high performance version of the latest Corvette Stingray. In 2013 Callaway Competition won the ADAC GT Masters championship. The major benefit and consequence was that Chevrolet authorized Callaway to construct and homologate Corvette C7R GT3 race cars for FIA competition.

The specialist has refined this Corvette model in terms of performance and exterior appearance, by offering two special enhancement packages for the car as well as engine modification. Just to name some new features, Callaway included direct fuel injection, continuously variable valve timing and advanced engine management control architecture.

First of all, the LT1 powertrain of the Stingray has been modified and now generates 610 hp (450 kW) at 6400 rpm, while the torque is of 753 Nm (556 lb-ft) at 4500 rpm. This makes it possible for the SC610 to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.4 seconds, and at the same time to maintain unchanged fuel consumption.

To go further into details, the supercharger system which has been added features Eaton’s TVS four-lobe, high helix rotor pack, OEM-certified quality and service-proven reliability. In fact, Callaway’s new supercharger housing and manifold have been entirely redesigned for improved airflow, while the new intercooler configuration minimizes charge air temperature.

It is also important to mention that the supercharger is being front-driven. It has a new design which extends through the hood, which has been framed by a Callaway Carbon hood surround panel and integrated underhood air extractor.

    2014 Callaway Corvette Standard Equipment:

    • Eaton TVS (Twin Vortices Series) Supercharger System
    • Callaway Honker High Flow Intake System
    • Callaway Double-D Stainless Steel Exhaust System
    • Callaway Carbon Hood Surround/Extractor, with “Supercharged” Emblems
    • Callaway Exterior Badging
    • Callaway Door Sill Panels
    • Callaway Floor Mats
    • Callaway Underhood Plaque with Vehicle Identification Number
    • Callaway Dash Plaque
    • Callaway Key Fob
    • Callaway Corvette Authenticity Documentation
    • Callaway 3 year/36,000 mile Limited Warranty

    2014 Callaway Corvette Optional Equipment:

  • Hennesseey Chevrolet Corvette C7 Does 200 mph

Hennessey-C7-Corvette-shadowHennessey-C7-Corvette-mediumHere’s a video of a Hennessey C7 Corvette going pretty briskly in a straight line. In fact, Hennessey say that this is the first ever 2014 Corvette Stingray to break the 200 mph mark. How much did it achieve? 200.6 mph.

It is an impressive achievement on its own, but if we compare it to the recent GEMBALLA run, it all becomes quite awkward. The 700 hp Panamera-based GTP did crack the 211 mph threshold without being on a diet or anything (a bit over two tonnes as you would find it on the street). The not-weighing-more-than-a-ton-and-a-half Hennessey C7 also brandishes a 700 hp engine because of its aftermarket long-tube headers, ported factory cylinder heads, high-flow cats, and camshafts. There’s even a Nitrous Experss system provided for those last 100 hp. Apparently, the finished product will scrap the nitrous but will provide a TVS R2300 supercharger and the 700 figure will remain unchanged.

Still, we have to give credit where credit’s due. Hennessey didn’t have the disposal of the Nardo ring. The test was performed on a brand new stretch of Texas State Highway 99. They wasn’t any need to close it off since it’s not even open to the public yet. Talk about a grand opening, huh?

Everyone involved seem to be rather pleased anyway and that’s what counts:

“We’re thrilled to have validated our upgraded C7’s performance at one of the best possible highways not only in America, but the world.” said Don Goldman, Hennessey CEO

  • Chevrolet To Introduce 2015 Corvette Z06 In A Month

    2015-Chevrolet-Corvette-Z06-teaser-shadow2015-Chevrolet-Corvette-Z06-teaser-medium

Exciting news from Detroit city. The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is coming soon. Very soon. It’s supposed to be the “most track-capable Corvette ever” In other words, its sole purpose is to put to shame all relevant rivals.

“Chevrolet is America’s favorite performance car brand, and for 2014 we are going to offer enthusiasts more choices than ever before,” said Alan Batey, senior vice president, Global Chevrolet. “No other manufacturer will be able to match the breath of performance cars from Chevrolet.”

Apparently, Chevrolet as a whole is doing mighty fine on the market. This year the current Corvette has outsold its closest competitor (which is apparently the Porsche 911). The demand for the new Stingray, they say, outstrips the supply.

The Camaro is also ahead of the Ford Mustang with a 4,093-unit lead in total sales. In the second quarter of 2014, the Camaro Z/28 will hit the dealrships and it too is supposed to be “the most track-capable” of its kind. Recently, the Z/28 logged a 7:37.40 lap on the Nurburgring… on a rainy day. Crikey!

The 2015 Corvette Z06, on the other hand, will debut in about a month at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit – home turf.

That, and the fact that the Z06 sales will start at the end of next year, is all we know for now. Better start saving up.
