  • Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170

Dodge is introducing the quickest, fastest and most powerful muscle car in the world, the 1,025-horsepower 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. The brand’s seventh and final “Last Call” special-edition model was unveiled this evening at the Dodge Last Call Powered by Roadkill Nights Vegas performance festival at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

With its 1,025-horsepower (at 6,500 rpm), 945 lb.-ft. (at 4,200 rpm) production HEMI® engine, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 reaches 60 mph in a blazing 1.66 seconds and features the highest G-force acceleration of any production car at 2.004 gs. The Demon 170 can also reach 900 horsepower and 810 lb.-ft. of torque on E10 fuel.

A Dodge special-edition vehicle like none other, the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is the quickest vehicle ever produced in the brand’s 100-plus-year history. The Challenger SRT Demon 170 is the first factory production car to run the quarter-mile under nine seconds with a National Hot Rod Association (NHRA)-certified 8.91-second ET at 151.17 mph. On the drag strip, the Challenger SRT Demon 170 receives an NHRA violation letter for running a sub-nine-second quarter-mile without a safety cage or parachute, following in the footsteps of the original Demon, which was also banned from NHRA quarter miles.

Black keys are also banned from the Challenger SRT Demon 170, as the fastest Dodge Challenger ever will be delivered only with red key fobs. The 2018 Challenger SRT Demon featured a black key fob to limit horsepower and a red key fob to unlock full output; the new Demon unleashes horsepower levels determined not by a key, but by sensing the percentage of ethanol fuel content.

“To celebrate the end of the HEMI muscle-car era, we pulled off all the governors to reach a new level, a new benchmark of ‘factory-crazy’ production car performance,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer – Stellantis. “In 2015, Dodge shocked the world with the 707-horsepower Hellcat. Then, in 2018, we did it with the 840-horsepower Demon, and now we are doing it again with the 1,025-horsepower Demon 170, the world’s first sustainable-energy, eight-second, factory-production, street-legal muscle car.”

Dodge “Last Call” vehicles commemorate the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger, which are coming to an end in their current HEMI-engine-powered forms at the end of 2023. Six special-edition “Last Call” vehicles were previously introduced, leading up to the reveal of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170.

Extensive component upgrades resulted in delivery of a nearly brand-new engine, as well as additional features that assist in harnessing the 1,025 horsepower of the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, including:

    • Improved Supercharger: Modified 3.0-liter supercharger upgraded with a larger snout with 105mm throttle body, and 3.02-inch pulley increases boost pressure 40% over the Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebody
    • Fueling Horsepower: Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 achieves full horsepower output through high ethanol fuel blends: horsepower levels are determined by sensing the percentage of ethanol fuel content
    • Driveline Upgrades: All-new driveline with 240mm ring gear, 53% stronger differential housing using aerospace-grade metals, rear prop shaft 30% stronger and stronger half shafts
    • Massive Drag Radials: 315/50R17 Mickey Thompson ET Street R drag radials — never offered before on a production car — and Mickey Thompson 245/55R18 ET Street front tires deliver extra force on the strip or street
    • TransBrake 2.0: Patent-pending TransBrake 2.0 provides torque-shaping capability and easier driver interaction to dial-in preset torque limits
    • Unique Drag Mode Suspension: Uniquely tuned valves in adaptive-damping shocks provide maximum weight transfer and custom race settings for drag calibrations
    • Staggered Widebody Design: First-ever factory production car built with staggered drag radial tires and fender flares

Production of the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 will begin this summer and will be limited to at most 3,300 units, with 3,000 for the U.S. and 300 for Canada. Final unit numbers will be based on production capacity.

Current owners of the original 2018 Challenger SRT Demon who secure a dealer allocation for the new 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 will also be given the unique opportunity to match the same vehicle identification number as their original Demon when finalizing their order.

First-ever 1,025-horsepower HEMI engine from the factory

Putting 1,025 horsepower to the ground — from the factory, no less — isn’t easy. The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 delivers on the strength of upgrades to almost every primary engine power component (only the camshaft is untouched) of the 6.2-liter high-output supercharged HEMI engine.

The fire-breathing heart of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 shares DNA with the Direct Connection Hellephant C170 crate engine (another reason for the “170” proof callout in the new Demon model’s name), part of the Direct Connection family of Hellephant crate engines that debuted last year at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Direct Connection is the Dodge brand’s factory-backed performance parts lineup.

Engine upgrades implemented in the Demon’s rebirth include:

    • 3.0L Supercharger: Modified from the Direct Connection Hellephant C170 crate engine supercharger, a 40% increase is achieved in boost pressure, taking the Demon 170 to 21.3psi compared to 15.3psi for the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody, with 30% more airflow
    • Supercharger Pulley: The 3.02-inch pulley delivers 14% more overdrive compared to the Hellcat Redeye Widebody and features an updated 2.68 drive ratio
    • Fuel Rail/Injectors: High-flow fuel injectors are capable of providing 164 gallons per hour, more than the average U.S. shower head; fast response ethanol sensor is integrated into the fuel injector rail
    • 105mm Diameter Throttle Body: Increased throttle body diameter results in 33% higher air-flow volume than the Hellcat Redeye Widebody or 2018 SRT Demon
    • Valvetrain: Nitride-coated intake valves and upgraded valve guides and seat materials assist with ethanol compatibility
    • Cylinder Head/Clamp Load: Aerospace-specification high-strength steel studs with steel inserts integrated into aluminum cylinder head contribute to a 38% increase in clamping load
    • Main Bearing Caps/Clamp Load: Upgraded head and main cap fasteners for increased clamping load capability allow a 44% increase in clamping load compared to the Redeye, with aerospace-specification high-strength steel bolts and billet steel main caps
    • Cylinder Pressure: Cylinder pressure is 32% higher than the Hellcat Redeye Widebody, measuring 2,500psi on E85 fuel
    • Main Rod/Bearings: Main and rod bearing materials upgraded to copper-lead for increased load capability
    • Connecting Rod: Higher-strength connecting rod and improved pin bushing support increased combustion pressure
    • Block Machining: Modified machining for head studs and main bearing cap bolts
    • Crank Damper: Viscous damper assists in reducing torsional vibration
    • Spark Plugs: New spark plugs with lower heat range for optimal combustion with ethanol fuel

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 features the proven TorqueFlite 8HP90 eight-speed automatic transmission, with an updated output flange to accommodate a larger diameter and stronger prop shaft.

    Unlocking the Demon

The “Corn Demon,” star of the five-video teaser series leading up to the reveal of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, hinted at the key to unlocking the maximum horsepower of the quickest Dodge vehicle ever: the ethanol percentage is what fuels the fire of the Challenger SRT Demon 170.

A recalibrated powertrain control module (PCM) optimizes fueling and spark timing for both premium and high ethanol-blended fuel. Ethanol percentage is automatically shown in the vehicle instrument cluster, and a gas pump icon appears in the cluster when a significant percentage of ethanol is detected in the fuel.

The horsepower rating adjusts automatically and is displayed based on the ethanol percentage in the fuel. When a 20% threshold of ethanol is detected, the gas pump icon located in the cluster will appear as white. When high ethanol fuel content of more than 65% is detected, the cluster icon morphs to blue, informing the driver that the Demon’s maximum 1,025 horsepower output can be unleashed.

Doubling down on Demon driveline durability

Driveline components of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 have been reinforced, including a rear prop shaft that is 30% stronger within the same packaging space. Aerospace-grade metals were put to work in the reinforced, 53% stronger rear axle housing, which features a new Direct Connection logo integrated into the structure of the housing.

    New driveline components include:

    • Rear Prop Shaft: 30% stronger over the 2018 SRT Demon driveshaft and also boasts increased tube diameter, tube wall thickness and larger CV joints
    • 240mm Rear Axle: Includes HIP (Hot Isostatic Pressing) processed housings, the first time used in driveline components to eliminate porosity of castings, larger 240mm ring and pinion, new input flange to accommodate larger CV joint, new geometry housing with Direct Connection logo, larger rear cover-mount fasteners, increased case depth and more result in 53% stronger housing
    • 43-spline Rear Half Shafts: Inboard and outboard CV joints designed with larger inner-connecting spline and revised heat treatment; interconnecting shaft is upgraded to a larger diameter shaft with larger joint splines and optimized stiffness for acceleration performance

Staggered drag radials and fender flares: first for a factory production car

The 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 arrives as the first-ever factory production car built with staggered drag radial tires and fender flares, a set up that creates more launch force compared to the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody.

Dodge worked closely over many months with Mickey Thompson Tires to develop applications exclusively for the Challenger SRT Demon 170, which were crucial to the vehicle achieving maximum traction under extreme acceleration.

Massive 17-by-11-inch rear wheels accommodate wider, taller and higher-profile Mickey Thompson P315/50R17 ET Street R drag radials that provide a large contact footprint. Developed exclusively for the Challenger SRT Demon 170 by Mickey Thompson Tires, this bespoke version of the ET Street R drag radials features added grooves for improved on-street performance. Mickey Thompson’s soft R2 compound provides superior traction and the ET Street R uses a nylon body for greater power transfer compared to standard polyester sidewalls. Increased sidewall height when combined with the tire construction allows for a “wrinkle effect,” improving power transfer and reducing tire slip.

Smaller 18-by-8-inch front wheels keep weight and rolling resistance down and fit Mickey Thompson 245/55R18 ET Street front tires, optimized for the drag strip. The lighter-weight front set helps transfer weight to the rear and delivers a significantly higher coefficient traction when compared to street tires used on similar surfaces.

Rear Widebody fender flares cover the Mickey Thompson ET Street R drag radials in the back, while standard configuration front fenders keep weight down by 17 pounds.

    Next-generation TransBrake 2.0

TransBrake 2.0, a second-generation version of the first-ever feature that debuted on the original 2018 Challenger SRT Demon, is reborn with patent-pending updates that allow the driver to configure and select from multiple launch-torque profiles to match the engine power delivery to specific track conditions, technology used in competitive drag racing. TransBrake 2.0 is accessed quickly through an easily reachable new button located near the center console, taking the driver straight to the TransBrake Performance Page on the main display screen.

Drivers can dial-in launch and shift torque settings with a memory function that can be customized to different grip surfaces — high grip, medium grip or low grip — to choose the increased engine torque and vehicle launch settings that best fit the surface on which the vehicle is running.

TransBrake allows engine throttle to be increased up to 2,350 rpm and generates greater powertrain energy with maximum torque converter multiplication, an up to 110% increase in engine stall torque compared to brake torque, and produces up to 15% more torque at the rear tires during launch.

As with the original Demon, TransBrake will work in conjunction with another of the vehicle’s purpose-built features, Torque Reserve, which is automatically enabled when using Launch Control and TransBrake and also works when using foot torque braking. Torque Reserve opens the throttle and prepositions the supercharger bypass valve, delivering excess air, and controls torque supply by changing spark events and timing. Torque Reserve maintains supercharger airflow, provides faster engine torque response and improved vehicle acceleration and creates a unique exhaust note.

    Additional returning features include:

    • Line Lock: Enables stationary or rolling smoky burnouts at the touch of a button, warms up the rear tires for racing by locking the front brakes independently of the rear brakes and is enabled via the drag options and steering wheel “OK” button
    • Launch Control: Designed to allow the driver to achieve maximum vehicle acceleration in a straight line, managing tire slip while launching the vehicle
    • Launch Assist: Reduces wheel-hop by maintaining optimal tire contact with the ground during vehicle launch

    Wheels up, weight down

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 arrives with standard 17-by-11-inch rear and 18-by-8-inch front forged aluminum wheels, with a lightweight carbon-fiber wheel option.

The optional Lacks Enterprises carbon-fiber wheels shed weight from the Demon, with the lightweight 17-by-11-inch rear wheels shaving a total of 11.98 pounds off the rear compared to the standard Redye Widebody configuration. Front 18-by-8-inch wheels save a total of 20.12 pounds off the front.

The two-piece carbon-fiber wheels feature a forged aluminum center with SRT logo center caps and are fastened together with titanium alloy hardware. A larger weave pattern than traditional carbon-fiber wheels allows the material to be seen from a greater distance.

The Lacks carbon-fiber wheels lower unsprung vehicle mass, reducing vibrations while maintaining a more consistent tire load and ultimately improving handing, acceleration and braking

The lightweight wheels are part of an overall weight reduction of 157 pounds for the Challenger SRT Demon 170 in comparison to a Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebody. Additional areas of weight savings include lightweight front brakes, hollow sway bars, passenger and rear seat delete, trunk trim and noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) pad delete and lightweight interior carpet with a minimal audio system. Removal of the front flares generates a weight savings of 16 pounds.

    Chill out

Cooling is critical to a 1,025-horsepower performance machine like the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, especially when it comes to success on the drag strip.

The innovative SRT Power Chiller, a purpose-built production car first for the original Demon, returns to help cool down the SRT Demon 170. Compared to vehicles without a chiller, the feature can reduce air induction temperature by up to 45 degrees Fahrenheit, diverting the air conditioning system to cool the supercharger intercooler for optimal air intake temperature. The Demon 170’s standard Race Cool Down feature also provides additional cooling after the engine has been shut down following a run down the strip.

Two additional key returning features of the Demon are the Air-Grabber hood and the Air Catcher headlamps. The features maximize air intake flow with functional, illuminated headlights that work in conjunction with the air-induction hood.

    Weight matters

It’s a balancing act harnessing horsepower while shifting weight to specific areas of the vehicle to achieve maximum performance combined with precision control. Uniquely tuned valves in adaptive-damping Bilstein shocks provide the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 with improved launch response and user customizable drag race settings.

Adaptive-damping Bilstein shocks are tuned for maximum acceleration and offer a raised rear ride height of 10mm and restricted rear jounce travel by 17mm to package the massive Mickey Thompson drag radials. A revised rear suspension camber increases contact patch under load compared to the Hellcat Redeye Widebody. Weight transfer is further aided by softer springs (35% front, 28% rear) and softer sway bars (75% front, 44% rear).

The updated Drag Mode option for the Challenger SRT Demon 170 dials in performance — front Bilstein shocks are set for firm compression and soft rebound damping while in Drag Mode, while the rear Bilstein shocks are set for firm compression and firm rebound damping.

    Demon Drive Modes/Performance Pages

Drag Mode is one of three drive modes for the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, along with Custom and Auto (Street) Mode options, which allow drivers to change or customize a full menu of vehicle performance parameters, including the transmission, shift paddles, traction control, suspension and steering.

Choosing Drag Mode lets drivers control a range of features:

  • Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept

Dodge is taking a giant step forward on the performance brand’s road to an electrified future, revealing the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT, a perception-shattering concept that reimagines what a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) can be. The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept offers a glimpse at the brand’s electric future through a vehicle that drives like a Dodge, looks like a Dodge and sounds like Dodge.

The two-door Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept was unveiled today at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan, during the third day of the three-day Dodge Speed Week event series, which featured announcements and reveals of Dodge performance products.

The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept muscles aside the boring BEV paradigm and replaces it with an electrified vehicle unlike any on the road today. A new propulsion system drives the Charger Daytona SRT Concept with performance that exceeds the Dodge brand’s famed SRT Hellcat engine, accompanied by an industry-first BEV exhaust sound.

The concept’s modern exterior styling incorporates subtle Dodge heritage cues while also exceeding aerodynamic targets. Interior design elements connect to create a driver-centric, immersive experience through sounds, displays and lighting features that change inside and out at the push of a button.

Core to the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept are three game-changing, patent-pending features that will rewrite the rules of the BEV segment:

    • R-Wing: A unique aerodynamic pass-through design feature that connects the concept with its iconic Dodge Daytona namesake
    • Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust: Industry-first BEV exhaust, can reach 126 dB, making it as loud as a Hellcat-powered Dodge
    • eRupt: Multi-speed transmission with an electro-mechanical shifting experience that’s pure Dodge

“The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept exists because performance made us do it,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer – Stellantis. “Dodge is about muscle, attitude and performance, and the brand carries that chip on its shoulder and into the BEV segment through a concept loaded with patents, innovations, and pertformance features that embody the electrified muscle of tomorrow. The Charger Daytona SRT Concept can do more than run the car show circuit; it can run a blazing quarter-mile. And when it comes to product cycles, it outruns Darwin. Charger Daytona does more than define where Dodge is headed, it will redefine American muscle in the process.

“One day ago, the brand’s first-ever electrified performance vehicle was unveiled, the all-new 2023 Dodge Hornet. Today, we revealed a peek at our eMuscle future with the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept. When we said it was going to be an electric summer for Dodge, we meant it.”

    Brotherhood, Meet Banshee

Dodge has built a unique reputation as America’s muscle car brand. In the race to be faster, quicker and more powerful, Dodge is turning the page to a new chapter. The brand’s first-ever electric car isn’t called the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept by coincidence — like the famed Charger Daytona model that was the first vehicle to break 200 mph on a NASCAR track in 1970, the Charger Daytona SRT Concept packs a performance punch.

It does so courtesy of a new propulsion system that joins high-horsepower household names such as HEMI®, Hellcat and Redeye. There’s a new pinnacle of performance in the Brotherhood of Muscle: Banshee.

The 800V Banshee propulsion system powers the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept car and screams performance, making Dodge’s first electric vehicle faster than a Hellcat in all key performance measures. The standard all-wheel-drive system is key to pushing beyond Hellcat performance while also improving all-weather capability.

    eRupt Transmission

Unlike typical BEVs, the Dodge brand’s eRupt multi-speed transmission with electro-mechanical shifting delivers distinctive shift points, throwing shoulders into seatbacks in true Dodge style. The Charger Daytona SRT Concept also boasts a PowerShot push-to-pass feature. Activated by the push of a button on the steering wheel, PowerShot delivers an adrenaline jolt of increased horsepower for a quick burst of acceleration.

    Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust

While most BEVs embrace their virtually silent electric motors, that just wouldn’t do for Dodge. The Charger Daytona SRT Concept voices a 126 dB roar that equals the SRT Hellcat, generated through a new, patent-pending Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system. Yes, Dodge added an exhaust to an electric vehicle.

The industry-first Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust pushes its one-of-a-kind performance sound through an amplifier and tuning chamber located at the rear of the vehicle. The Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust represents the next generation of tactile, bone-shaking, muscle attitude, creating a visceral “Dark Matter” sound profile experience in concert with the eRupt transmission.

    Dodge Design, First and Foremost

The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept features inspired design that takes on the challenge of revolutionizing the look of a BEV while offering subtle nods to the brand’s muscle car past.

That design principle begins to unfold up front, where the Charger Daytona SRT Concept’s patent-pending R-Wing redefines the typical Dodge front end, maintaining the characteristically blunt Dodge profile while developing a more aerodynamic vehicle.

The R-Wing, an homage to the original Charger Daytona design and to a key figure behind development of the original vehicle, allows air to flow through the front opening, enhancing downforce. Incorporated into this functional performance hood, the front R-Wing holds true to the brand’s dramatic exterior themes while delivering an aerodynamically improved pass-through design. Carbon-fiber intakes tucked into both sides of the front and rear lower fascias provide an air curtain to assist in aerodynamic performance.

The Charger Daytona SRT Concept combines modern looks with a long, wide and confident road presence. The front grille stands out with cross-car illuminated lighting centered by a white illuminated Fratzog badge, a symbol teased last year by the Dodge brand. The three-pointed Fratzog badge, originally featured on Dodge muscle cars from 1962 through 1976, was previously used without any meaning or context — until now. The return of the Fratzog logo represents the electrified future of Dodge and signifies the brand’s unwavering commitment to its performance heritage, but with new technology capable of pushing limits well beyond the cars of today.

Simple, vertical details on the front grille add texture while calling back to the brand’s heritage, specifically the iconic 1968 Dodge Charger. The concept distills performance to its simplest form, enhanced by a typically playful Dodge exterior color name, Greys of Thunder, that gives a high-gloss graphite feel with deep textures. The concept’s “waterline” tracks around the sides and gives a planted look while emphasizing the upper portion, keeping the visual weight up high. Subtle, muscular shaping of the wheel fenders accent the body styling.

The vehicle avoids excess decoration — headlights almost disappear, hidden underneath the R-Wing and integrated seamlessly into the aerodynamic surface providing just the functional elements needed for forward lighting. Both the front and rear lighting feature a full width design centered by a 3D illuminated Fratzog badge. The exterior lighting elements are truly unique – even in the dark, you’ll know the Charger Daytona SRT Concept’s silhouette. Flush door handles continue the minimalist design. Brushed aluminum “screaming” Banshee fender badges announce the new propulsion system that drives the concept.

Painted-pocket 21-inch wheels with diamond-cut faces continue the aerodynamic efficiencies with a turbine-like design, and a red Fratzog logo embellishes the wheel center locks. Grey six-piston brakes provide the stopping power.

A new hatchback design is highly functional, giving the concept a dual personality: a beast at the track that can still meet every day needs. The design, along with rear seats that fold flat, offer unexpected utility and storage capacity from a muscle car.

    Connected, Driver-centric Interior

The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept’s interior is modern, lightweight and athletic, providing a driver-centric cockpit with all essentials cohesively packaged.

The 12.3-inch center screen, the largest featured in a Dodge vehicle, angles nearly ten degrees towards the driver, and the 16-inch instrument cluster is curved, creating a cocooned, driver-focused feel. An 8-by-3-inch Head-up Display (HUD) puts additional vehicle information where the driver needs it. The slim, instrument panel (IP) and mid-bolster in Ultraviolet color with blue and silver accent stitching feature a “waterline” that extends cross car. The upper IP is a step higher, an elevation change that creates a sculptural surface floating above the cluster. The Ultraviolet color also touches multiple interior surfaces, such as the console, doors and seats, creating a halo that works with the Attitude Adjustment Lighting™ to enhance shadows and highlights.

A parametric texture unites the interior and provides a connection to the exterior by continuing the inspiration of the 1968 Charger grille detail on the inside. The parametric pattern adds fluidity and sculpture, spanning from the IP to door appliques, beneath the console and continuing to the rear armrests and rear console. The dynamic interior texture has a three-dimensional quality that bounces light and is reactive to the environment, with lines that radiate as they move rearward.Ambient Attitude Adjustment Lighting™ illuminates the texture from below, playing with depth and dimension.

Circuit-like graphics originate on the carbon fiber floor and are strategically placed to surround occupants, flowing under the seats, moving to the center console and IP, and coming back to the driver, a subtle detail that acts as a circuit board, connecting one to another. A unique lightning bolt shape on the accelerator pedal hints at the concept’s electrified powertrain, as does the dual Blue Plasma and Silver stitching that surrounds the entire interior. Carbon fiber door sills feature illuminated white Daytona lettering, with lighted Daytona lettering also found at the top right of the mid-bezel.

Doors and center console follow the sculptural design theme, including only the needed elements. A pass-through area under the console creates a much lighter feel, and clever center console touches include a jet-fighter inspired cap that flips up when engaging the start button. The unique pistol-grip shifter is inspired by the past but with a modern execution, functioning as a mechanical precision piece that delivers an effortless shift experience when squeezing the pistol grip’s trigger.

A new steering wheel design offers a thinner feel, with a flat top and bottom. The center spoke of the steering wheel is not connected to the rim, giving the steering wheel a floating feel. Paddle shifters are mounted on the steering wheel, with the PowerShot button on the right and drive mode controls on the left. Like the doors, the steering wheel features capacitive touch controls. An illuminated red SRT logo lights up the steering wheel center.

Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept seats are lightweight, race-inspired and slim in design, with an insert that features an abstract, perforated pattern of the Fratzog logo. The unique pattern fades out as it travels down the seat and reappears as it flows toward the center of the seatbacks. The upper seatbacks feature openings and seat bolsters that provide an airy, race-oriented feel, while holding occupants.

The panoramic glass roof gives an open-air feel to the Charger Daytona SRT Concept, helping to include rear passengers in the vehicle experience. The parametric interior texture extends to the headliner surrounding and accentuating the glass area. The carbon fiber “tub” floor and hatch are race-inspired lightweight features, and the large cargo area along with fold-flat rear seats provides more storage space than any previous Dodge muscle car.

    Immersive, Electrified User Experience

The Charger Daytona SRT Concept’s cockpit immerses the driver’s sensory experience through performance sounds, lighting features and vehicle displays.

A simple one-button press on the steering wheel lets the driver pick from Auto, Sport, Track and Drag modes, instantly changing the driving dynamics, instrument cluster information, HUD content, performance sound and interior lighting features of the vehicle.

    Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat (2023)
The Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is back for 2023 model year and ready to reclaim its rightful mantle as the most powerful SUV on the planet.

The 2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat loses nothing in its rebirth, once again fueled by the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® Hellcat V-8 engine producing 710 horsepower and 645 lb.-ft. of torque. The Durango SRT Hellcat, first introduced as a one-year-only model for 2021, storms back to life thanks to enthusiast demand and remains the perfect choice for SUV muscle enthusiasts with families.

“The Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat has generated a crazy amount of enthusiasm and demand since it was introduced in 2020 — we even extended its initial production run — so it seemed appropriate to bring back the most powerful SUV ever as part of our historic 2023 model-year Dodge lineup,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer – Stellantis. “Muscle enthusiasts also have families, and the 2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat can get those families where they want to go and has the ability to tow 8,700 pounds.”

The 2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat was revealed at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan, during the first day of the three-day Dodge Speed Week event, featuring announcements on current Dodge products. Dodge Speed Week will include additional announcements on Dodge Gateway Muscle and Future Muscle products on August 16 and August 17, respectively.

The 2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat has numbers to back up its performance claims: the Hellcat can move from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, click off a National Hot Rod Association (NHRA)-certified quarter-mile elapsed time of 11.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 mph.

Dodge Durango once again joins Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger in offering SRT Hellcat models. The Durango SRT Hellcat also expands the Durango lineup to six models, joining the Durango SXT, GT, R/T, Citadel and SRT 392.

Orders for the 2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat will open in September 2022, with the Hellcat scheduled to arrive in dealerships in early 2023.

Heart of a Hellcat — Revived

The 2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat remains Dodge to its core, starting under the hood where the heart of a Hellcat continues to beat. • Cold-air scoop in lower front fascia helps feed the supercharger and the Hellcat engine’s 92-mm throttle body
    • Exhaust system tuned to deliver a throaty Dodge DNA sound
    • TorqueFlite 8HP95 eight-speed automatic transmission includes steering-wheel-mounted paddles for manual-style shifting and has seven available Drive modes – Auto, Sport, Track, Snow, Tow, Eco and Valet.

The Durango SRT Hellcat inherits distinct Dodge DNA, with bold styling including a front fascia featuring a chin splitter, engine oil cooler duct, air guide and snorkel for cold air induction. The rear spoiler provides aerodynamic balance and a significant measure of rear downforce of 140 lbs. @ 180 mph.

Durango’s forward-leaning profile includes LED low/high headlamps, LED daytime running lamp (DRL) signatures and a sculpted hood and grille. The front end creates a wide cross-car read. SRT Hellcat fender badges stamp the Durango as a Hellcat.

Inside, the driver-oriented cockpit is refined, upscale and high-tech throughout, featuring an available 10.1-inch touchscreen angled 7 degrees toward the driver. Unique to the SRT Hellcat are red-accented gauges and standard heated and ventilated Nappa leather with suede front seats with an embroidered SRT logo.

  • Are you a fan of muscle-cars? 2015 Challenger Dream Giveaway has something for you then!

    2015 HellcatX Dodge Challenger SRT

History tends to repeat itself in various forms and various manners. This happens in the car-manufacturing world quite often too. One model inherits something from its predecessor and follows the path of progression of the first-born. Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat X is an example of such case where old automobile history reincarnates some of its aspect into a new automotive body.

It won’t be an exaggeration if we say that perhaps every muscle-car lover keeps a poster of the Hellcat X on their wall, dreaming of owning one such jewelry. Well, they should be more than delighted to find out that there is light in the tunnel. And no, it is not the approaching train. It is rather the light of a unique opportunity. Now 2015 Challenger Dream Giveaway® gives a chance to people to enter a competition and win a one-off prize package which includes precisely, the Dodge Challenger in question and the 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T.

Inspired by the U.S. Aviation prototype XF6F Hellcat, the supercharged Dodge Challenger Hellcat X is loaded with a 2L HEMI engine that is capable of generating 805 HP. The car is built in honor of WWII pilots of Hellcat fighter aircraft. This one-of-a-kind supercar excites with accented front grille surround, center hood scoop, Navy-inspired raw-aluminum hood extractors, hand-made rear diffusor and, lastly, adaptable high-speed chin spoiler as well as deck lid spoiler. Inside the car exclusivity keeps running as the winner will find embroidered Hellcat X callouts on the front seat backs and on the floor mats.

The other beauty, 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T, on the other hand dazzles with well-known high-performance features like a 440 Magnum V-8 engine, Pistol Grip four-speed, and a Supergrip limited-slip rear. Leaving the factory assembly line 45 years ago, the R/T had already established itself as a rare one. This Dodge Challenger was one of less than 100 black Challenger vehicles which adopted the 440 U-code/four-speed package. An interesting fact about it is that exactly this car was used in a TV commercial called “Revolution Reborn” which showcased “Dodge’s DNA of American exceptionalism then and now.”

Does this sound tempting to you? Well, do not hesitate then and enter the competition in order to get one of these unmatched cars.

  • SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo Revealed! Accessible for PS3 this Summer [VIDEO]

2015 SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo has been revealed and this makes me very happy because FCA has done this via many pictures and detailed information. These images can be viewed in the gallery below. There is also an official video that shows the mightiness of this car. As a matter of fact, after seeing it I regret that it will stay in the virtual world only. Here is why.

The single-seat will hit the virtual track of the Gran Turismo 6 PlayStation3 game this summer. It will be powered by a futuristic hybrid V-10, pumping out 2,590 combined horsepower! Can you believe that? But everything is possible in the virtual world, isn’t it?

SEE ALSO: FCA Teases SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo [VIDEO]

Players can access three powerful versions of the car only after successfully completing challenges. At first, they will find the entry level SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo S, then the racing version GTS-R and eventually they can drive the experimental technology ultimate version X concept.

    Design

The design of the car is extreme and no one can argue on that. Aggressive, powerful and aerodynamically optimized in every way, it only makes us wish that it isn’t a vehicle from the real world. An interesting fact is that the SRT Tomahawk was actually born from an internal design competition for a futuristic interpretation of a 2035 Dodge.

The winning design was a creation of Paul Hoste, who’s young enough and new to FCA, and also grew up playing Gran Turismo.

The shape of the car is an expression of movement and flow. At the front we have aggressive forms, while the rear seems to be a little bit angular, with asymmetric fenders and a powerful exhaust with five large ports were integrated in the rear diffuser.

The cockpit and engine cover are made from graphene, which is lighter than the carbon and contribute to the transparency. Large air intake for engine cooling, active panels above the front and rear fenders characterize the design. At last, we can’t skip the thin LED lights that contribute for the futuristic look of this virtual car.

    Performance Levels

As mentioned, the SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo will be available in three variations. The entry level carries the “S” designation and it is powered by 7.0-liter wide-angle V-10 unit, which is tuned to produce 792 hp (582 kW).  At the front, the car adds pneumatically driven wheels that contribute for additional 215 hp (158 kW), thus making a total system output of 1,007 hp (740 kW). The top speed is 250 mph.

The racing version of the virtual car is called GTS-R. The V-10 under its hood pushes up to 1,137 hp (836 kW), while the air-driven front wheels add 313 hp (230 kW) contributing for a total system output of 1,450 hp (1066 kW). The top speed is in excess of 300 mph.

At last, the ultimate version “X” can set redline at 14,500 rpm, thanks to its innovative V-10 engine which pumps out 2,168 hp (1594 kW). Here, the front wheel drivetrain contributes an additional 422 hp (310 kW) at peak, for total output of 2,590 hp (1911 kW). The Vmax here is stunning: 404 mph. The extreme performance of this version requires a G-suit for the driver for maximum protection.

What is really sad here is that we have to wait a little bit longer to have access to these beautiful cars. Until then we can wipe our tears and take a dreamy look at the video and pictures below.

  • FCA Teases SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo [VIDEO]

FCA or Fiat Chrysler Automobiles was so good to announce its participation in the Gran Tourismo PlayStation3 game. Here are four pictures and a video which show the car that they are currently teasing – the SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo. The hybrid powered vehicle is going to be released exclusively for the GT6 and although there is literally no information accompanying the pictures we surely know that it is a single-seater.

As mentioned above it will be also driven by a hybrid powertrain, obviously showing relation to its not so long ago revealed sibling. From the images and video we can also see that the virtual vehicle will light its way via LED headlights.

SEE ALSO: Peugeot Mysterious Concept is a Vision Gran Turismo [VIDEO]

And you can also take a look at the unique and carbon-infused hood scoop. The picture that displays the rear of the Tomahawk says that it will feature a special exhaust system with five-tailpipes. Can you imagine the output now?

At the back there is also a huge rear diffuser and our overall expectation is that this car is to see this car with a lot of carbon fiber! I’m pretty sure we won’t be disappointed.

At last, FCA said that the official reveal of the SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo will happen “soon”. Until then we will have to wait impatiently.

  • 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat – 635WHP [video]

K&N Air Filters has published a video on Youtube showing the real power of the epic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. The fastest and most powerful muscle car in the world has even more horsepower than officially stated. It has been put to dynotest by Motor Trend team and showed amazing 635WHP (467 kW) and 798Nm (591 lb-ft) at the rear wheels, which is 722HP (531 kW) and 914Nm (672 lb-ft) at the crankshaft.

This is “just” 15HP and 34Nm more than the officially stated figures of – 707HP (527 kW) and 880Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque produced by the mighty 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine under the hood. What is more, the American car manufacturer has recently unveiled the Charger SRT Hellcat, which is the fastest saloon on the planet (non-tuned).

Other nice highlight is that the speedometer stopped at 202 mph (325 km/h), but the revcounter continued to build speed. If we pause the video, when the speedometer is at 202 mph, we can see that the engine is at 5,300RPM. The rev limiter is at 6,000RPM, so at 8 gear the car will be going theoretically with 229 mph (368 km/h).

    Enjoy the video!

  • Dodge Charger Make Fun of Volkswagen Passat [videos]

Dodge has released two very funny commercial videos of the new 2015 Charger. Actually, they are mocking to Volkswagen Passat. As the US manufacturer declared in May – “No kid ever grew up with a poster of a Passat on his bedroom wall” and we will add – “But many with a Charger”.

The all-new 2015 Dodge Charger is powered by a 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 – 292HP (218 kW) and 353Nm (260 lb-ft) of torque. There is also a 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine coupled with a TorqueFlite electronic 8-speed automatic transmission. It develops 370HP (272 kW) and 535Nm (395 lb-ft) of torque. The SRT8 model has a 6.4 liter HEMI V8 with 470HP (346 kW) and 637Nm (472 lb-ft) of torque, which is mentioned in the first clip (below).

The ad says “Here it is, the 470HP HEMI V8, butt kicking,  Mötley Crüe blasting Volkswagen Passat. No, I’m just kidding, it’s a Charger.”

    Enjoy!

    httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPEM-_b3eu8

Recently, Dodge has unveiled the extreme Charger SRT Hellcat, which is the most powerful family saloon in the world. It has a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 – 707HP (527 kW) and 880Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to an 8-speed automatic gearbox sending all that power to the rear wheels. ¼ mile is covered in just 11.0 seconds and the top speed is whopping 328 km/h (204 mph); 0-160-0 km/h in less than 13.0 seconds. • Trans Am Series Debut for 2014 Dodge Challenger SRT

2014-Dodge-Challenger-SRT-THUMB2014 Dodge Challenger SRT made a Trans Am Series premiere this weekend. Miller Racing team drove two Dodge Challenger SRTs at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The four-time series champion Tommy Kendall drove the No. 11 Dodge Challenger SRT, while his teammate and TA2 points leader Cameron Lawrence drove the No. 1 Challenger. Miller Racing gave the team a more-robust support base. In fact, Kendall won four championships in the 1990s and he last competed in the Trans Am Series in 2004.

The driver is best known for winning championships in Trans Am and IMSA. He is also popular with his victory in the 1995 Rolex 24 At Daytona as well as a television analyst for Fox Sports 1 and NBC Sports. Another interesting fact here is that Kendall has the third most Trans Am victories with 28. On the other hand, his teammate – Lawrence, has captured 14 wins in 21 series starts since 2012.

Miller Racing has switched the manufacturers to Dodge but this won’t keep of Lawrence from retaining his TA2 class points. The 21-year-old driver currently holds a 35-point margin over second place. The driver expressed his wish to continue the success he had and to stay on top and keep the season rolling.

The Miller Racing team was “born” in 2012. During the 2013 Trans Am Lawrence won eight of 10 events in the TA2 class, including the last seven-consecutive races. The team has captured 18 Trans Am victories in 26 races over three seasons.

Next to the newly formed partnership with Miller Racing, SRT Motorsports also fields two Dodge Viper SRT GTS-Rs in the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, and supports a customer racing program with the Dodge Viper SRT GT3-R in the IMSA TUDOR series, Pirelli World Challenge and Supercar Challenge.
