Skoda Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine Boasts Unexpected Features and Emotional Appeal

Skoda Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine is definitely something to write about. Or at least I find inspiration in writing about it. I know that most of the US-based readers are not used to seeing this model rolling on the large American streets, but this car deserves some attention because of several factors. Of course, the visual stance is the first among all (not I terms of importance of course).

It seems that Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine has it all. Just take a look at the pictures below to have better visual impression.

Exterior Mixed with ScoutLine Accessory Package

The first thing that grabs the eye is the unique green color. This is the latest addition to company’s color palette called ‘pistachio green’. When it comes to details, the car can also stand out very quickly. Precisely, the ScoutLine accessory package adds distinctive plastic exterior fixtures and mirror housings with reflective silver finish.

To go even deeper into details, the front and rear bumpers are finished in one-off matte-black. It has been contrasted with reflective silver running through it. In addition textured plastic fixtures (also in matte –black) are running along the doorsills and wheel arches, thus protecting the sides of the vehicle.

Furthermore, Skoda is offering the choice of either silver 16-inch ‘Rock’ or 17-inch ‘Camelot’ alloy wheels, that will complement the outdoor and adventurous looks of this car.

Wide List of … Engines

Except for the GreenLine engines, Skoda Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine can be driven by all drivetrains for the basic model. This includes three petrol engines ranging from 90 horsepower (66 kW) to 110 hp (81 kW) and to 125 hp (92 kW) as well as two diesel units delivering 90 hp (66 kW) and 116 hp (85 kW).

Of course, all of the engines are super fuel efficient and comply with Euro-6 emission standards. They are also equipped with the start-stop system and feature regenerative braking.

All in all Skoda Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine is a combination of fresh design and practical features that could literally appeal to anyone.

Skoda Improves Rapid Spaceback Range

Skoda announced some changes made in the Rapid Spaceback range. The goal was to create the best possible version of the car, which will also satisfy customer’s needs in terms of versatility of equipment. There are three trim levels, which will make sure that this aim is accomplished.

As mentioned, the changes are featured across the whole new range. With its exceptional style and practicality, Rapid Spaceback is now going to be offered in three trim levels: S, SE Tech and SE Sport.

The range of engines that Skoda is offering are 1.2 TSI and 1.4 TDI both delivering 90PS and available for the S trim. The 1.2 TSI versions is pumping out 90PS or 110 PS as well as the 1.4 TSI and 1.4 TDI with 125 PS and 90 PS, respectively, and the 1.6 TDI with 115 PS, for the SE Tech trim. At last the 1.2 TSI with 110 PS, 1.4 TSI with 125 PS and 1.4 TDI and 1.6 TDI producing 90 PS and 115 PS, respectively, in the SE Sport trim.

The good news is that all-turbocharged engines in the line-up can be mated to one of the best transmissions in Skoda’s history: the DSG. It will take care for the good outputs and the low CO2 emissions, which start from as little as 94g/km.

There are no words on the exact new features throughout the equipment, but we entirely believe Skoda, when it says that three trim grades include exceptionally abundant equipment levels.

2014 Skoda Rapid Spaceback – Price £14,340

Skoda has announced the pricing of the all-new 2014 Rapid Spaceback. The affordable car will be available in showrooms in January, next year. The pricing starts from £14,340 for the S model with 1.2 TSI 86HP and goes up to £18,900 for the Elegance powered by a 1.6 liter TDI CR 90HP equipped with DSG gearbox.

The new Rapid Spaceback introduces a dynamic new dimension to the ŠKODA range. The second model in the Rapid range sets sector standards for interior space and offers exceptional practicality thanks to its 415-litre boot.

Specification levels across the range are generous, with all three Spaceback models fitted with additional equipment over the Rapid. AC is standard across the line-up, along with curtain airbags, front electric windows and a height and reach adjustable steering column. SE models feature alloy wheels, acoustic rear parking sensors, cruise control and a Bluetooth telephone connection, while Elegance models add, among other items, climate control, height-adjustable passenger seat and cornering front fog lights.

2014 Skoda Rapid Spaceback

Skoda has introduced the all-new 2013 Rapid Spaceback offering as manufacturers says “Simply Clever” solutions.

For example, the new Rapid Spaceback has an optional double cargo floor in the trunk, permitting the trunk to be divided into two horizontal levels providing double utility. What is more, there is no need to leave the double floor behind when using maximum trunk space as it can simply be moved into the lower position.

Other practical features include parking ticket holder, multimedia holder, cup holders in the front and rear or parcel shelf that can be stowed behind the rear seats.

The 2013 Rapid Spaceback comes with front, side and head airbags, height-adjustable three-point safety belts with pre-tensioners and height-adjustable head restraints. In EU countries, the ABS and ESC systems are standard. Other active safety features are optional xenon headlights, tire pressure control, fog-lights with corner function or the ‘hill-hold control’ assistant.

The engine range includes 4 petrol and 2 diesel power units with power between 55kW to 75kW. The 1.6 liter TDI Greenline ahieves 3.8 l per 100 km with just 99 g/km CO2.
The Rapid Spaceback will celebrate its premiere at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, while its launch in the European markets is scheduled for October 2013.
