  • Seat Mii And Ibiza Offered in Toca Editions

Seat-Mii-Toca-THUMBSeat Mii Toca and Seat Ibiza Toca Editions are now being introduced to the market delivering more desirable equipment and special features. In Spanish “Toca” means “touch” and as you can conclude this name gives a fairly obvious clue to the bonuses included in those two new models.

In particular, Toca Editions come with the very useful Seat Portable System (including a touch-screen), which was firstly introduced to the Seat range with the Mii city car. First of all, the Mii Toca is based on the 1.0 60 PS SE version, but adds the Seat Portable System and rear parking sensors.

Secondly, by committing to the Ibiza Toca (which is based on the SE version), the drivers will get a set of 16-inch “Stratos” alloy wheel. These were previously 15-inch. In addition, the Seat Portable System is also featured.

Both Ibiza and Mii are loaded with equipment which features the following: air conditioning, a leather steering wheel and gear knob, heated and electrically adjustable door mirrors, electric front windows, electronic stability control (ESC), remote central locking. The only difference that the Ibiza adds is that it includes front fog lights with cornering function.

Furthermore, the aforementioned Seat Portable System includes satellite navigation, Bluetooth phone connectivity with audio streaming, a MicroSD card slot for music storage, and trip computer functions, all controlled via a fool-proof interface on a five-inch touchscreen.

  • Seat Ibiza Cupra Concept

Seat-Ibiza-Cupra-Concept-thumbIt still is a concept, but production is foreseeable. It’s the Seat Ibiza Cupra ready to please the way only a hothatch can. Powerful, nimble and clever, this little imp has all the right acronyms – TSI, DSG and now XDS – an electronic differential lock.

A 1.4 TSI super/turbocharged engine under the hood packs a punch of around 180 hp and 250 Nm. With a set of paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, one can make good use of that power which is delivered to the road by a seven-speed DSG transmission.

The Ibiza Cupra also has the looks to match the power. Angry looks that is. Seat have focused on the car’s face by adding a broad grille, sophisticated and pointy headlights and vast air intakes. The only thing that, to us, ruins the whole situation are those LED daytime running lights which surround the headlights, imprisoning them with redundancy. From the side we have a three-door profile – sharp and muscular with nice C-pillars. 17-inch wheels complement the dynamics while black exterior mirrors offer an aesthetic contrast to the mad yellow paint job of the body.

Jumping inside, we find a minimalist’s idea of paradise – a steering wheel with the shifters, four air-vents, a radio and that’s about it. Well, there’s more than that but take the entertainment system for an example – a 5-inch screen can be unplugged and taken home as a part of Seat’s Portable System – that means that in your pocket, you can have a navigation system, a hands-free phone system with voice control and an on-board computer.

Currently, this little critter (that probably has rabies) is on a stand at the 2012 Beijing International Automotive show. One of the many that will most definitely leave an impression on you or atleast a smile.

    2012 Seat Ibiza SC FR

The FR trim (on the picture) features 1.4 litre TSI 150 PS DSG and 2.0-litre TDI 143 PS turbodiesel. It offers a massive savings of £1 100. For the very first time FR is also now available on the Ibiza ST, for those who crave a practical yet genuinely sporty small estate.

Managing Director of SEAT UK, Peter Wyhinny, commented: “We’re really excited about the imminent arrival of the New Ibiza in the UK.  This stylish new supermini ticks all the boxes for buyers by being not just significantly more modern to look at, more stylish, more practical and, with the debut of the Ibiza ST FR, significantly more fun.  But, crucially, our best-seller is now also even more affordable, too!”

“SEAT celebrated record sales in the UK in 2011 and, with the arrival of the New Ibiza, I’m confident we can look forward to continuing that success through 2012 and beyond.”, he finished.

  • 2013 SEAT Ibiza

    2013 Seat Ibiza

The new 2013 SEAT Ibiza captures the heart with its young, emotional design and fun-to-drive zest, innovative technologies and quality. The new line is developed to match even more the indvidual taste of the customer. The range includes the compact and sporty three-door Ibiza SC, the dynamic and universal five-door Ibiza, the elegantly practical Ibiza ST estate car, the extremely efficient Ibiza E-Ecomotive, the exceptionally sporty Ibiza FR with 110 kW (150 hp). However there is something in common for all the models and it is the high standard of quality and outstanding value for money. The introduction to the market of the new models will be in the spring of 2012.

Of course the new models will offer again its expressive and unique design. However beneath it the new Ibiza offers an impressive array of innovative technologies, such as the latest-generation state-of-the-art TDI and TSI power units, the DSG transmissions and the start/stop system, which combines dynamics with exceptional efficiency and exciting driving. Furthermore in it is included the Portable Media System with touchscreen monitor, which combines the functions of a navigation system, on-board computer, audio system and hands-free device. While it is fully integrated into the Ibiza’s on-board electronics, it is also removable for use on-the-go.

In details the sporty character and high product quality can be seen all over the new Ibiza’s exterior. The distinctive centrepiece is the trapezoidal grille featuring the SEAT logo. The flatter proportions and horizontal honeycomb structure of the grille and the lower air intake emphasise the width of the new Ibiza. A redesign in the front and rear bumpers give the a look that is particularly accentuated on the sporty Ibiza FR version. Standard equipment on the FR and available as an option on other models are the large fog lamps with integrated cornering light. With these models SEAT has proved again that it has put again a great attention to the details. Take as an example the sophisticated design of the headlamps. In details, the edgy style of the lamps is a hallmark feature of the new SEAT design language, while being perfectly integrated into the Ibiza’s sculptural form. The headlamps are available in two halogen versions or with optional bi-xenon lamps and LED daytime running lights. The latter trace the form of the headlamps to deliver a unique light signature, as do the optional LED rear lights. Moreover the new Ibiza looks like a piece of art on wheels. The characteristic “Línea Dinámica” runs from the headlamps over the powerfully drawn wheel arches to the rear. A second, equally sharp character line runs across the muscular rear shoulders to the rear lamps. These powerful lines and the interplay of taut surfaces give the Ibiza an athletic character – on both the coupé-like three-door and the universal five-door. And even the functional estate car conveys an unmatched look of dynamism – without any restriction to its exceptional utility.

The interior on the other hand is as exquisite as the exterior. First of all it has a forceful but extremely minimalist and clearly structured cockpit design. The feeling of quality, the high precision of the workmanship, the wide choice of colours and materials ranging all the way to fine leather upholstery serve to underline SEAT’s standards. Here we also have a great attention and effort put on the detaisl. It can be sensed through the steering wheel, in the new design of the climatronic, in the new paint surfaces. Nevertheless the main focus here remains on functionality –for instance take the new instrument binnacle with its improved display or the significantly larger glove compartment. In details it now has a generous storage volume of 10.7 litres and thus offers more space for a lot more accessories and useful items.

Furthermore the new Ibiza is offered in three body styles to fit perfectly to every lifestyle. There are the three-door Ibiza SC and the five-door Ibiza, which are not only design masterpieces, but are also very well equipped to cope with the practical challenges of everyday life. They has an interior that is generous for this class of vehicle, a luggage volume of 284 or 292 litres and a variable rear bench. Undeniably the bodyshell of the Ibiza ST offers a very high degree of functionality. Despite its sporty design, the load volume of 430 to a maximum of 1,164 litres is surprisingly generous.

2013 Seat Ibiza - Front Ange

More importantly the engines included are a cmbination of sportiness and efficiency. The range of petrol units extends from the  economical 1.2 litre with 44 kW (60 hp) to the immensely perky 1.4 TSI with supercharger and turbocharger. 110 kW (150 hp) and the standard-fit DSG transmission catapult the Ibiza to 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds, and onwards to an impressive top speed of 212 km/h. In the new Ibiza, this power unit is now also available for the ST estate version. A highlight here is the  Ibiza 1.2 TSI Ecomotive – the state-of-the-art power unit with 77 kW (105 hp) delivers refined drive with its maximum torque of 175 Newton metres at just 1,550 r/min, yet sips on an average of just 5.1 litres/100 km – thanks also to the start/stop technology that is fitted as standard. Additionally the TDI engines are even more efficient when it comes to fuel consumption and emissions. The efficiency highlight is the Ibiza 1.2 TDI E-Ecomotive (also with a start/stop system). Its average fuel consumption is the almost unbeliavable 3.4 litres, equating to a first-class CO2 figure of 89 grams/km! Nevertheless the compact hi-tech TDI delivers attractive performance with its 55 kW (75 hp) and its very respectable torque of 180 Newton metres. The sporty pinnacle of the Ibiza diesel line-up is the 2.0 TDI with 105 kW (143 hp). No competitor in this segment offers such a powerful diesel; no other masters the combination of performance and efficiency so perfectly – a top speed of 210 km/h comes with an average fuel consumption of just 4.6 litres. And how about the transmitions which fit to those modern engines? There are featured perfectly spaced five and six-speed manual gearboxes. Moreover a number of engines are offered with DSG transmissions either as standard equipment or as an option. This dual-clutch transmission offers not only the comfort of an automatic, but also the advantage of compelling efficiency. The running gear of the new Ibiza shows sophisticated layout that has been carefully fine tuned, giving the compact model handling characteristics that are as sporty as they are safe. In addition the precise steering and the perfectly tuned ESP stability control, as well as the XDS electronic differential lock (as of 100 hp) offer safety in hazardous situations. Next to be mentioned is the powerful brake system with ABS, which is also included. Last but not least, the new Ibiza runs on wheels ranging in size from 15 to 17 inches and sporting a new design.

  • JE Design Seat Ibiza 6J Gold

JE DESIGN gives the Seat Ibiza (model 6J) an air of sporty self-confidence. The car tuner from the town of Leingarten in Baden-Württemberg has made improvements to all versions of the Spanish car with its new aerodynamics package, filigree alloy wheels and stylish interior.

As usual, the new aerokit displays the two JE DESIGN hallmarks: design and quality. The bodykit elements don’t just give the Seat Ibiza a sporty appearance; they’re also distinguished by their first-class workmanship and perfect fit. Using high-quality ABS or composite materials, JE DESIGN manufactures the CNC-milled attachments to OEM standards. The fact that the tuned cars have passed the pedestrian protection test is further evidence of the high quality standards.

The racy look of the JE DESIGN Ibiza is due largely to its new front. The front apron with the sports radiator grille (without the Seat logo), available for EUR 654.50 including VAT, frame the car’s striking LED daytime running lights, each with six light emitting diodes at each side (EUR 238 for the complete set). The cleaning system for the headlamps retains its full functionality. In addition, the headlamp covers (available for EUR 89) give the Seat that menacing appearance. The curved side skirts (available for EUR 299) and the rear apron attachment (also available for EUR 299) complete the car’s aerodynamics package, the components of which can also be fitted individually. The body parts can be purchased for all Seat Ibiza versions, in other words for the 3-door, 5-door and Estate ST models as well as for the sports versions, the FR and the Cupra.

JE Design Seat Ibiza 6J Gold
JE Design Seat Ibiza 6J Gold

In keeping with the car’s sporty appearance, the suspension lowering springs (available for EUR 149) lower the Ibiza by around 35 millimetres, giving the Multispoke alloy wheels a particularly dynamic looking edge. The complete wheel sets are available from JE DESIGN either in size 7 x 17 inches ET 35 with sports tyres of size 215/40 or in size 7.5 x 18 inches ET 35 with tyres of size 215/35. The wheels’ surface comes in either Shadow Silver or in Matte Black with silver wheel rims. Complete wheel sets cost EUR 1,809 (for the 17-inch versions) or EUR 2,260 (for the 18-inch versions).

The car’s sporty transformation by JE DESIGN is not just about appearances though. The power of the 1.6 TDI CR engine for example is boosted from 105 hp (77 kW) to 121 hp (89 kW). This is made possible by the additional electronics box (available for EUR 1,399), which is connected by way of a plug-and-play system and reduces the time taken for the car to go from 0 to 100 km/h from 10.9 to 10.2 seconds. With torque of 282 instead of 250 Newton metres, the JE DESIGN tuned Seat Ibiza can attain a maximum speed of 194 km/h (compared with 188 km/h in the standard models).

The car’s interior is first rate too. The Elegance leather upholstery (available for EUR 1,599) rarefies the Ibiza’s interior with its exclusive luxury. The steering wheel (EUR 399), the gear lever and the handbrake sleeve (available together for EUR 179) are also covered with fine rawhide. The colour of the stitching and of the leather can be chosen by the customer at no extra charge from JE DESIGN. If desired, JE DESIGN can even add an individualised, stitched on logo to the backrests of the front seats for EUR 79. The Ibiza can be made really comfortable with the two-level heating system for the seats (available for EUR 379), the electrically adjustable lumbar support system for backache-free driving (available for EUR 319) and the massage system with its 12 different programmes.
