Terrific Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 brought to perfection thanks to SCHMIDT Revolution

Tuner implements simple measures to make the CLA more beautiful

I love the CLA. Probably if you are a Mercedes fan you are on the same opinion, too. Well, it is probably the best looking model in the lineup and it captivates with its posture and appearance. It is also kind of strange to work on a tuning project involving this model due to its perfection, but specialists like SCHMIDT Revolution have the courage to do this. And more importantly, to do this with simple measures.

First the experts had to lower the vehicle, so their idea could manifest. For this purpose the Speed-Box/Raceland was in charge to bring the beautiful CLA 45 AMG 25 mm closer to the ground with the help of H&R springs.

In terms of the wheels added, they had to be flushed exactly with the bodywork… but not to touch it. How this was made possible? Thanks to a specific scan of the wheel housings, the adjustment of the Gambit-rims happened with the help of CAD technology.

There was a little requirement, too: the dimension of the rubbers, namely 235/35R19, was mandatory in order to match the front axle load capacity of 1.140 kg. The result: the fantastic wheel-tire-combination is stunning! It allows almost unobstructed view of the red-painted brake calipers.

At last, but not least, SCHMIDT Revolution also implemented a performance increase, bringing the CLA to the potent 400 HP with chiptuning. For added appearance there are extra performance-side stripes with Speed-Box-logo and OEM-rear wing. Nice, isn’t it?

Schmidt Revolution Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205

Schmidt Revolution has slightly improved the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205. The tuning package include new wheels, sport suspension and some power boost from Carlsson.

The luxurious saloon rolls enormous 8.5J x 20” front wheels fitted with 235/30 R20 Dunlop performance tires and 10J x 20” at the rear wrapped in 275/25 R20. The rims are finished in SatinBlack and upon request can be ordered in silver. The price is available upon request.

The stance is improved thanks to KW Inox Line-Variant 3- coilover. It alloys adjusting the ride height on the front axle and rear axle between 35 and 70 millimetres. The damping is also adjustable in the rebound and compression stages independently of each other. The price is €1,949. There will be also KW DDC ECU coilover with electronic adjustment of damping.

The C-Class 220 Blue TEC is boosted to 204HP (150 kW) and 500Nm (370 lb-ft) of torque – an increase 34HP and 100Nm thanks to an ECU re-map provided by Carlsson.

The tuning package from Schmidt is a perfect example, how to create an impressive vehicle without flashy spoilers and LED all over the place. The tuned C-Class looks fantastic just with big wheels and improved stance.

Schmidt Revolution Audi R8

Schmidt Revolution is now offering an extreme tuning package for the stylish sports car – Audi R8. Its stance is simply impressive, because it is not only lowered into the tarmacs but is also widened to more than 2 meters.

Schmidt fitted the tuned R8 with enormous 9.5J x 20” ET6 (front) and 12.5J x 20” ET2 (rear) alloy wheels fitted with Hankook tires S1 Evo 235/30 R20 and 305/25 R20, respectively. The wheels come with Radinox rims 5.5” (rear) and 4” (front) assembled on deep concave FS-Line centres.

Otherwise, the exterior is modified by Triple-X in Bochum. These tuning specialists have modified the front and rear wheel arches to take deep dished wheels. Last, but not least is the sports exhaust system, which might be silenced by a throttle system.

As a reminder: the 2012 Audi R8 GT has a 5.2 liter V10 FSI – 560HP (412 kW), which is enough for catapulting to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and to 200 km/h in 10.8 seconds. The top speed is 320 km/h (199 mph). In real life, the R8 GT is able to cover 1 km distance in just 21.392 seconds with a trap speed of 253 km/h. In other words, it accelerates 0-253 km/h in 21.4 seconds.

Schmidt Revolution has presented their latest project based on the new Porsche Boxster. The roadster received minor styling upgrades, but it looks way better.

The exterior boasts a set enormous alloy wheels – 8.5J x 20″ at the front and 10J x 20″ at the rear fitted with 245/30 ZR20 and 285/30 ZR20, respectively. The tuning company offers different sizes from 8.5J x 19″ to 10J x 20. Special colours and special bolt circle according to customer requirements, as well as powder coatings are naturally also possible.

Manufactured from one piece, Gambit rims impress among others with extremely sporty design with polished Outline.

For perfect stance, Schmidt has installed a set of lowering Eibach springs (-30 mm front and rear).

Schmidt Revolution Enhances Ferrari F360 and 575M

Two Ferraris are being enhanced by the company SCHMIDT Revolution. They have equipped the models with new rims, which fit perfectly to the exquisite Italian models. They were designed especially for these vehicles according to the customer requirements.

The models which were improved are the Ferrari F360 and its „younger brother“ Ferrari 575M. The first vehicle is the iconic two-seater sports car, which was built by the Italian brand from 1999 to 2005. It is equipped with a mid-engine 3.6 litre V8 unit and has a rear wheel drive.

Its engine utilizes flat plane crankshaft, titanium connecting rods and produces 400 bhp (300 kW). The car runs from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.3 seconds. The next vehicle is again a two-seater, two-door grand tourer, which was launched in 2002.

It is equipped with a V12 engine mated to a semi-automatic electrohydraulic manual ‘F1’ gearbox. The displacement of the unit is 5.7 liters and can generate up to 508 hp (379 kW) and 588.6 N•m (434.1 lb•ft) of torque at 5,250 rpm. The acceleration time for this model for the sprint from standstill to 100 km/h is only 4.2 seconds on the way to a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph).

Both Ferrari F360 and 575M are equipped with a coil over and both vehicles were screwed to the optimum height. However, there can always happen an adjustment to the standard tires, therefore making possible an easy conversion back of both vehicles in absolute original condition.

Better Performance: Schmidt Revolution BMW 335i F30

Schmidt Revolution BMW 335i F30 delivers better performance. How? By the irreversible evidence of physics that the performance of the unit depends on the mass to be moved. And this is why the tuners have paid attention to the weight saving.

The first visible modification on this BMW is the new rims, which include RADINOX®-technology. The latter offers special stainless steel alloy material which is absolutely corrosion free. In addition it provides compressive strength in the cases of kerbing damage for instance.

To be more precise, this BMW 335i F30 three-piece 20-inch wheels are carrying the name Schmidt Revolution FS Line and are in sizes 8,5×20 and 10×20 inches at the front and rear respectively. They are fitted with Continental 5P tyres in size 235/35-20 and 265/30-20, on the front and rear axle.

Another tuning brand has been involved in this transformation and it is Lightweight, which has offered this BMW an improvement in performance in two levels. The first level enhances the power output to 336 hp (247 kW) and 460 Nm (338 lb-ft) of torque at 5.700 rpm. The second one – the level two, increases the power of this vehicle up to 365 hp (268 kW) and 480 Nm (353 lb-ft) of torque at 5.600.

Furthermore, the muffer made from titanium is also delivered by Leightweight. It includes two 80-mm-tail pipes for the adaptation to the series system and it also contributes to some additional visual accents. In order to optimize the driving dynamics, the specialists have given the car Bilstein-B12-chassis with stabilizers from Eibach.

A Volkswagen Golf for the Summer by Schmidt

When we heard that Schmidt Revolution are bringing out yet another Golf, we got excited. It was only after when we realized that the “programme” comprised solely of a set of wheels and a fancy audio system. The upside of the story is that, since the programme is just that, all Golfs are eligible to it. We were pleased to find out that Schmidt’s weapon of choice was a Volkswagen Golf Mk 6 Convertible GTI.

That means 210 hp coming from a 2.0-liter TSI engine which in turn uses a PDK transmission to channel that force to the wheels. This is where Schmidt made their move. The Golf here in the pictures has 8.5Jx19H2 Shift design wheels that boast 45 mm of positive offset. The color: gloss silver. Tires: Conti Sport Contact 5 sized 235/35R19. One however, can go a tad less conspicuous with the 8Jx18H2 version of the same wheels or even the 7,5x17H2 ones.

That leaves us with the B&S Sound system with Rockford Fosgate- and Mosconi-components, a foot-mounted subwoofer and the Kenwood DNX521DAB navigation which is as sophisticated as the Starship Enterprise.

So there you have it. The Schmidt Revolution Volkswagen Golf GTI Convertible – not a lot of work done but then again, not a lot of work needed to be done in order to end up with a genuinely good car.

Schmidt Revolution Audi RS6

Schmidt Revolution introduced their tuning program for Audi RS6 (C6).

The powerful touring car comes with astonishing 5.0 liter twin-turbocharged V10 with 580PS (426 kW) and 650Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 12.7 s and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) – electronically limited.

However, the tuning specialists from Schmidt Revolution consider these times slow, so they bumped the engine up to whopping 700PS (515 kW) and 790Nm (583 lb-ft), which is an increase of 120PS and 140Nm. The acceleration is not mentioned although it will be a lot faster, especially the 0-200 km/h, but the top speed is approximately 330 km/h (205 mph).

The upgrades don’t stop here and the tuned RS6 also boasts a set of new 10J x 22” CC LINE light alloy wheels with polished external bed. They are wrapped in 265/30 ZR22 tires all around.

Schmidt Revolution Porsche Cayenne II

Schmidt Revolution has introduced their tuning program for Porsche Cayenne.

However, it consists of a huge wheels in dimensions 10J × 22” for the rims and 295/30 R22 snow tires. The tuning company will also fully prepare your car for the harsh winter testing.

A very interesting winter SUV is the diesel powered Cayenne II, which has a 3.0 liter V6 diesel with 240PS (180 kW) and 550Nm (410 lb-ft) of torque. The performance is nice – 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and top speed of 220 km/h (136 mph). The vehicle achieves up to 39 mpg on combined cycle.

The engine received a new turbocharger, a revamp of the injection system and enhanced thermal management. The weight of Cayenne II Diesel has dropped to 2080kg.

All these improvements make diesel powered Cayenne a perfect solution for winter conditions.
