  • Saleen Unveils Mustang Black Label with Unexpected 730HP [VIDEO]

    2015 Saleen 302 Black Label Mustang Side ViewSaleen’s Black Label Mustang was announced in the end of September and as we recall, it had to produce 640 horsepower. However, the much praised Ford Mustang was endowed with even more power and now reaches 730 hp. This is quite a pleasant surprise, isn’t it? Moreover, this pony car is one of the best developed by the specialists so far.

    We don’t have any official pictures but the video below shows that the 302 Black Label has been changed significantly from the outside too. First, the car has a brand new finely tuned aerodynamic body. It also seems somewhat longer and the reason for this is that it has been lengthened an inch and a half in the front and two inches in the rear.

    As a result the muscle vehicle has increased airfoil, thus maximizing the downforce too. At the back we see the traditional Saleen rear wing, which also contributes for the balance of the downforce, created by the front air splitter. Of course, this version of the Mustang is also lighter than its standard siblings because of the use of carbon fiber body components.

    The exterior paint finish is called California Sunset and it is a mix between golden yellow and setting sun hues and also changes with the light.

    Inside, we trust Saleen that we will see a combination of luxury and styling enhancements. This is implemented via black leather and suede seats that were additionally highlighted with contrasting chevrons. The gauge cluster is there to make a significant design contrast in the interior, while the leather wrapped steering wheel and the unique badging with the specific serial number of the vehicle round out the interior modifications.

    The main surprise in this car however is the output, since it was originally announced with minus 80 hp.   • 2015 Saleen 302 Ford Mustang to Pump Out 640 Horsepower

    2015-saleen-302-mustang-THUMB2015 Saleen 302 Ford Mustang was shown for the first time with a single picture in the beginning of July. The response of course was resounding. Saleen team is now stating that they are working hard to bring the next vehicle in the lineup to life. Since this is the firs new Mustang model for almost 10 years, the company is expecting an exciting time for the Mustang community when the S302 premieres.

    As the official unveiling approaches, the customizing specialists have released the features and specifications for the 2015 Saleen 302 Mustang (the full list is featured in the gallery below). Next to the features and specifications data, the company has also released another image of the car, showing a profile view. It definitely gives an enhanced perspective on what we are to expect.

    But the most important question here probably is how much horsepower will this enhanced Ford Mustang produce. The standard production V8 engine is rated at 435 horsepower (320 kW) and 542 Nm (400 lb-ft).  Saleen expects to make better these factory numbers and add 15 hp and 10 Nm, making a total of 450 hp (331 kW) and 555 Nm (410 lb-ft) in naturally aspirated form.

    With the advantage of a supercharger, the pony car will pump out the numbers to 640 hp (471 kW) and 765 Nm (565 lb-ft). Either of the engines will be coupled with a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

    This Ford S302 will be offered in a convertible or a coupe form, and will come in three trim levels – White Label, Yellow Label and Black Label. The first one features the naturally aspirated engine, while the other two trims benefit from the supercharged unit.

    The White and Yellow trim also add upgrades like a new exhaust system and limited-slip differential, as well as improved suspension, heat extractor hood and rear wing. On the other hand, the Black gets center induction hood, side skirts, a new rear fascia integrated with the exhaust system. It also added more suspension upgrades, illuminated sill places, leather and Alcantara seats.

  • Saleen FOURSIXTEEN is Enhanced Tesla Model S

    Saleen-FOURSIXTEEN-Tesla-Model-S-THUMBIn the beginning of the year we were informed that the first electric car to be transformed by Saleen will be the Tesla Model S. The FOURSIXTEEN performance electric car was shown for the first time at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The exterior of the car is an example of a harmonious blend of aggressiveness and class. It features the emblematic Saleen DNA design with brand new front fascia and carbon fiber rear diffuser.

    At the front of the FOURSIXTEEN there are also aero management vents, which maintain the low pressure field as air acceleration increases around the chassis. In addition, there is also one-of-a-kind V-shaped hood architecture, which efficiently directs hot air away from the drivetrain cooling system.

    At the back of this Model S, the rear fascia features a designed high-downforce decklid mounted spoiler. Mid-chassis air is directed across the carbon fiber accents stretching between the taillights. Saleen diffuser boosts further the aerodynamic downforce capability of the vehicle.

    What drives the FOURSIXTEEN is the three-phase, four pole AC induction motor and copper rotor with the upgraded Saleen drivetrain. The latter includes new 11.39:1 final gear ratio for quicker acceleration.

    Another innovation is the MAXGRIPTM locking differential, which is specific for the tuning company and which allows each wheel to efficiently apply rotational force and maximize traction and grip during performance. Saleen’s high-efficiency drivetrain cooling system ensures that the electric motor works in the appropriate temperature. This system comprises of a larger volume radiator, upsampled cooling fans, and a high-flow water pump.

    Furthermore, a specific S4 track-calibrated suspension which features a monotube coilover, works in conjunction with an S4 sway bar setup. All in all this improves cornering agility without sacrificing ride quality. The Stability Control System has been also enhanced via software change.

    Saleen-specific brakes have been also included in the modification, which work together with the stability control software, wheel, tire, and S4 suspension system. The standard brake package features 14” 2-piece aluminum hat vented rotors and multi-piston front calipers with performance brake pads. FOURSIXTEEN rides on specifically Saleen designed wheels, which are coupled with ZR-spec tires.

    Inside, the tuning company has also made changes. From the handpicked leather palette to the carbon fiber dash accents, the cabin is more luxurious than ever. The seats are wrapped in black leather that features contrast perforated leather accents and Alcantara suede inlays. A new center console has also been integrated into the interior redesign.

    To go further into details, the front and rear seating have been remolded in ordered to produce four full bucket seats. Saleen’s tailor-made door panels and a full leather-wrapped dash complimented with hand sewn contrast stitching as well as the black leather seat shells finalize the interior enhancement.

  • Saleen 351 Mustang Goes Public And Is Ready For Production

    Saleen-351-Mustang-THUMBSaleen 351 Mustang Prototype is based on Ford Mustang and as a matter of fact it debuted in April this year at Fabulous Fords at Knott’s Berry Farm in California. Now Saleen Automotive has announced that the breath-taking muscle car in on its way to production.

    The specialists at Saleen have also disclosed that they have put incredible amount of o details and attention in this vehicle. They even said that according to their opinion they have found the perfect balance of design, technology, and power.

    The 351 Mustang completes the trifecta of Speed, Science, and Style which is something emblematic for the tuning brand. More importantly, the muscle car is capable of producing 700 hp (515 kW) and 888 Nm (655 ft-lb) of torque, thanks to its supercharged 351 cubic inch V8 engine.

    The power is transmitted onto the road via six-speed gearbox with 3.73:1 final drive ratio and a performance clutch system. The car runs on 20” alloy wheels matched with high-performance tires.

    In the package is also included an enhanced brake system which features 15” brake discs. Other highlights include a butterfly hood scoop, carbon fiber front and rear splitters and rear diffuser.

    In addition, the Saleen 351 is rounded out by its distinct aerodynamics and Red Butterfly Center Ram Air Induction system. The transformation can be done on both Hardtop and Convertible models.

  • Saleen 351 Mustang Prototype – 710HP and 887Nm

    Saleen has unveiled the 351 Mustang Prototype based on Ford Mustang Convertible. The one-off vehicle was presented at last weekend’s Fabulous Fords at Knott’s Berry Farm in California.

    The exterior boasts a specially-made Orange County Orange paint. Under the bonnet, there is a “small-block” 5.7 liter V8 with 710HP (522 kW) and 887Nm (655 lb-ft) of torque. The power is put on the road through a 6-speed gearbox with 3.73:1 final drive ratio and a performance clutch system.

    It rolls 20” alloy wheels with high-performance tires. There is also an upgraded brake system including 15” brake discs.

    Other highlights include a butterfly hood scoop, along with carbon fiber front and rear splitters and rear diffuser.

  • Saleen Ford Mustang 351 Delivers 700 Horsepower

    Saleen-Ford-Mustang-THUMBSaleen Ford Mustang 351 is an enhanced version of the popular muscle car done by Steve Saleen. This modified Ford model comes to show-off exciting list of technological and design offerings.

    First of all, the most notable component in the 351 is the Saleen engineered 351 cubic inch V8 engine. It generates 700 hp (515 kW) and 888 Nm (655 ft-lb) of torque when paired with Saleen 296 supercharger system.

    In fact, this is probably the most potent Mustang currently on the market. In addition, the engine is mated to a six-speed transmission equipped with a high performance Saleen clutch system, and a 3.73:1 final drive ratio. They both ensure that the power will be where it’s most required – on the ground.

    Next, the incredible machine got wheel and tire combination as well as Saleen S4 suspension and the Saleen 15″ brake package. What rounding out the performance system are the Saleen 5-spoke alloy wheels wrapped with high performance tires in sizes 20×9 for the front and 20×10 for the rear.

    On the other hand the Red Butterfly Center Ram Air Induction with its Red Butterfly hood allows cold air to intake through the butterfly scoop design as they open-up under throttle.
