  • New Rimac C_Two undergoes an extreme temperature testing [VIDEO]

    2021 Rimacv C_Two TetingThe Rimac C_Two is at its final stages of the multi-year global homologation program, which means that it can already be sold all over the world, from Canada to the Middle East.

    The vehicle has undergone some demanding tests and engineers have added their seal of approval to the HVAC system that was tested that was put to the ultimate weather test. By using a Climatic chamber, capable of creating temperatures as high a 48 degrees (118F) and as low as -28C (-4F), the Rimac C_Two has proven that its compressors, pumps and fans were still working as new. Although the temperature in the cabin has reached some extreme temperature levels, the vehicle was still in perfect technical condition.

    When it comes to extreme colds, the prototype was left overnight in -28C (-4F) with the doors wide open. Yet, despite the cold and ice, all pumps and components worked faultlessly and the vehicle was still in good condition after the defrost process.

    Following the latest tests, the Rimac C_Two prototype will undergo the final stages of the homologation test, durability evaluations, some trim expectations, NVH fine-tunings, and global product evaluations before entering the production phase and offering it through dealers.

  • Vilner is Back with Custom Rimac Concept One and Tramontana XTR

    Rimac Concept One ExteriorVilner is finally back… with not one but two concept projects: custom Rimac Concept One and Tramontana XTR. After the luxurious Bulgarian tuning company has been silent for a while, it was about time to raise its voice. And how it does it: with two projects that are more creative than ever. By the way, both cars have been previewed at Salon Privé Concours d’Elégance: one of the most beautiful, prestigious and valuable car events.

    As a matter of fact, the Bulgarian studio has made its debut there, showing the interiors of these two uniquely different concepts. Despite this was the first appearance of the team, their work was appreciated at the highest possible level. As they say, both vehicles have received as much attention as the 1968 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage Volante and the 1954 Bentley R-Type Continental Fastback that were also on display there. And here is why they were worth the attention:

    The collaboration between Vilner and Rimac is a well known fact. The stunning thing about the electric Concept One is that it generates 1088 hp (800 kW) and manages to achieve 0-100 km/h acceleration in 2.8 seconds. And it does this without any CO2 emissions!

    Now take a look at its cabin and you’ll comprehend the meaning of real comfort means. Of course, the interior was entirely made by the talented tuners. They have used for the upholstery fine brown leather in combination with black Alcantara. To add a little contrast to everything, they have included blue stitching. Other accents inside feature elements on the instrument panel, center console and steering wheel made of polished carbon composite. Now that’s a worthy treatment for the electric king, isn’t it?

    The Custom Interior of Tramontana XTR

    Tramontana XTR is a Spanish two-seater sports car capable of 888 horses (653 kW) coming straight out of its twin-turbo V12 Mercedes-AMG engine. Vilner followed the color design scheme of the exterior of the alien-like car, thus using for the cockpit black, white and red colors. The upholstery was made of high-quality leather and Alcantara.

    But there is one thing that is really special about this particular Tramontana XTR. Its scheme for the cabin can not be seen anywhere else. In other words, Vilner will be responsible for the creation of strictly individual cabins for every single XTR ordered. And this redefines the meaning of individuality and personalization.

  • Rimac e-M3 World Record [video]

    Rimac-e-M3Rimac Automobili has finally finished their project – an electrically driven BMW E30. The project name is “Rimac e-M3” and it has broken several world records. Currently this is the fastest electric car in class 3 (above 1000 kg).

    “I owned an old BMW E30 (MY 1984) which I used for drift and circuit races. At one of these races, the gas engine blew up. Then I decided to try building an EV. After one year or so the car was able to drive but I was not satisfied with the result. It was heavy, not very powerful and the range was very limited. I started to gather a team of experts to develop our own components since I believed that the electric propulsion can give much more compared to what was available on the market. At that time, I already had a very clear vision of my ultimate goal. Today, hard work is making my dream come true.”, said the founder of the company – Mate Rimac.

    “We had to wait over a year for FIA‘s official approval to publish the records. But while we were waiting the spirit of inventiveness took us even further, so we made something even faster. Our pre-production car, the Concept_One, can beat the e-M3; by far.”, added Mr. Rimac.

  • Debut of Rimac Concept One

    Rimac-Concept-One-THUMBRimac Concept One – the electric hyper car, will make its first world appearance at this year’s Salon Privé. The event is UK’s most prestigious Supercar Event.

    The car is indeed exceptional, and of course its price is even more exceptional. Because it costs $1 000 000 only 88 examples of the sensational vehicle be produced. Among the people who team who stays behind the design and engineering of this concept car includes designers who used to work for the fabled Italian styling house Pininfarina and top Bulgarian leatherworkers from Vilner.

    To be more precise, this unique electric hyper car is able to produce the almost unbelievable 1088 hp (800 kW) due to its 92-kWh battery. The latter powers four sets of electric motors, placed at each wheel. The great amount of power is produced easily because all four systems can operate independently and accelerate or decelerate hundreds of times per second. And Rimac has a name for this: All-Wheel Torque Vectoring (AWTV).

    Given these facts it is no surprise that Concept One’s acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. In addition if you wonder about the top speed of the car, it is 190 mph. The kerb weight is 1850 kg.

    The concept vehicle can be seen for the first time in the UK at Salon Privé in September.
