2014 Audi A8 Facelift – Price €74,500 [video]

Audi has finally revealed the facelift version of the A8. The 2014 A8/S8 range will be available in Germany starting November – from €74,500.

The exterior boasts a revised front bumper, new front grille and more sculpted hood. There are also LED headlights (standard for V8 models) and Matrix LED headlights available as an option featuring 25 25 individual light-emitting diodes per unit which can be switched on/off individually depending on road conditions. Other highlight are the sequentially illuminated LED turn signals with 18 LEDs in the headlights and 24 LEDs in the taillights.

At the rear, there are also LED taillights as well as reworked rear bumper featuring two rhomboid tailpipes (except the S8 model). There are new chrome strips and high-gloss black window frames. The manufacturer offers twelve paint schemes and wheels in sizes up to 21”.

The Audi A8 3.0 TFSI with the normal wheelbase has a curb weight of just 1,830 kilograms (4,034 lbs) – best-in-class for models with all-wheel drive. The body is made almost entirely of aluminum; an Audi Space Frame (ASF) design, it weighs just 231 kilograms (509 lbs).

The engine range includes a 3.0 liter V6 TFSI with 310HP (228 kW), a 4.0 liter V8 TFSI with 435HP (320 kW) and 3.0 liter V6 TDI with 258HP (190 kW) as well as 4.2 liter V8 TDI with 385HP (283 kW). The top-of-range A8 L W12 quattro comes with a 6.3 liter W12 petrol with 500HP (368 kW). The S8 has a 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 TFSI with 520HP (380 kW).

The 2014 Audi A8 Hybrid is powered by a 2.0 liter TFSI and and an electric motor – combined power of 245HP (180 kW) and 480Nm (354 lb-ft), which is more than enough for decent dynamics. The conventional engine drives the front wheels while the electric motor powers the rear axle.

The 3.0 TDI clean diesel needs just 5.9 liters / 100 km (40 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of just 155 g/km. The 6.3 liter W12 boasts best-in-class fuel consumption of 11.7 liters / 100 km (20 mpg US). The hybrid version averages 6.3 liters / 100 km (37.3 mpg US). All engines satisfy the Euro 6 standard. Friction-reducing measures reduce consumption by as much as 10 %.

The interior boasts super luxury like ventilated front seats with massage function, along with individual electrically-adjustable rear seats optionally available for the A8 and A8 L. The latter can also be configured with a continuous, leather-wrapped center console, as well as other optional goodies like four-zone automatic AC and relaxation seat with power footrest.

As is typical for Audi, the new A8 features exemplarily clear controls despite the abundance of functions. Taking center stage is the MMI control element on the tunnel’s center console. MMI navigation plus also includes a touchpad. The driver draws characters on the pad (MMI touch) to control numerous navigation and multimedia functions.

Audi connect including car phone is available as a supplement to MMI navigation plus. It uses an integrated UMTS module to connect the new A8 to the Internet. Passengers can surf and e-mail freely via a WLAN hotspot. For the driver, the system delivers the tailored online services from Audi connect to the car, such as online traffic information, Google Earth, Google Street View and online news. The multimedia highlight is the Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System. The Rear Seat Entertainment system includes two displays, Bluetooth headphones and a DVD player.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG – Price £119,565

Mercedes-Benz UK has announced the pricing of the all-new super powerful S 63 AMG. The performance saloon is coming in the UK in November priced from £119,565 OTR. Considering the amount of power, the luxury and all extras, the price is not very high. The most powerful high-performance saloon in the luxury segment aims to set new standards in driving dynamics, performance, refinement and technology.

The engine is a hand built 5.5 liter V8 bi-turbo with 585HP (430) at 5,500 RPM and 900Nm (667) at 2,2500 RPM. 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The 4Matic Long Wheelbase accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds, which means that the almost two-ton luxurious saloon is as fast as Porsche 997 GT3 RS. The S 63 AMG returns 27 mpg on the combined cycle and emissions of 237 g/km.

The standard equipment includes a set of 19” AMG 10-spoke alloy wheels, high-performance Composite Brakes fitted as standard along with unique AMG sports suspension based on the all new Magic Body Control. Backing up the performance is the AMG sports exhaust system, providing a suitably thunderous soundtrack. AMG body styling including all-new front and rear bumpers, aiding cooling and adding greater visual drama are joined by AMG specific side sill panels with silver chrome inserts.

The impressive line-up of standard equipment which includes the Driving Assistance Package, Front Seat Comfort Package, Panoramic sunroof, Keyless Go Package, the mighty Burmester Surround Sound System with Six-Disc changer, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and Ambient Lighting is all over and above the standard equipment offered on the outgoing model representing more than £8,400 of added value for the customer.

The S 63 AMG is available in the long wheelbase version of the S-Class offering passengers the ultimate in luxury and legroom. An AMG sports steering wheel and superbly supportive AMG sports seats, which are electronically adjustable and heated, are fitted as standard. The front centre armrest has the AMG emblem embossed on it while an AMG-specific IWC-design analogue clock features on the dash. The rear features AMG heated sports seats as well as an AMG start-up screen/instrument cluster.

The Drivers Package (£2,760) derestricts the top speed to 300 km/h (186 mph) and secures the customer a place on an AMG ‘Power and Passion’ event so they can learn how to handle their car on the racetrack. Carbon Fibre can also further enhance the look of the car with the addition of the AMG Exterior Carbon Package (£5,000) while the AMG high-performance ceramic composite brake system can be added for £7,090.

Fiat has announced an updated price list and additional equipment for its popular and stylish Punto supermini. The range provides customers with outstanding value for money.

Available with either three or five doors and with a choice of 5 low emission Euro 5 engines, Fiat’s Punto now comes with a revised line-up of 4 main trim levels, Pop, Easy, GBT and the new Sporting.

The engine line up includes: a 1.2 liter 8V petrol – 69HP, a 1.4 liter 8V petrol – 77HP, a 1.4 liter 8V petrol – 77HP Dualogic, a 1.4 liter 16V MultiAir petrol – 105HP, a TwinAir 0.9-litre petrol – 85HP and a 1.3 liter 16V MultiJet diesel – 85HP.

Standard equipment in the entry-level Pop model includes remote central locking, electric front windows, driver and passenger airbags, window airbags, radio/CD/MP3 player, Dualdrive electric power steering and a height-adjustable driver’s seat.

2014 BMW i3 – US Price $42,275

BMW US has announced the pricing of the all-new 2014 i3 electric vehicle. It starts from just $42,275, including a $925 destination charge.

“With this leading-edge vehicle and attractive price, we will provide customers with a compelling offer for electromobility,” commented Ian Robertson, member of the BMW board of management, sales and marketing, in a statement.

So, when the $7,500 federal tax credit is factored in, the BMW i3 starts at $34,775, which is a very good price and way below that we expected.

However, the i3 is priced above the 2013 Nissan Leaf and 2014 Fiat 500e ($29,650 and $32,600, respectively). The Fiat 500e is available only in California.

The BMW i3 is equipped with a 170HP (125 kW) electric motor and lithium-ion battery. The German EV has a range of 80-100 miles (around 160 km), according to the manufacturer.

2014 Suzuki SX4 S-Cross – Price

Suzuki UK has announced the pricing of the new 2014 SX4 S-Cross, which will hit the market on 1^st October with pricing starting from just £14,999 for the SZ3 1.6-Litre petrol and going up to £23,549 for the range-topping 1.6 DDiS SZ5 Allgrip Manual.

Suzuki created the new SX4 S-Cross by combining its compact car know how with technologies honed for sport utility vehicles. 2014 ‪Peugeot‬ 308 – EU Price €17,800

Peugeot has announced the pricing of the all-new 2014 Peugeot 308. The affordable small vehicle will hit the market later this year with pricing starting from€17,800 in Europe.

There are four trim levels: Access, Active, Allure and Feline. The engine range includes a 1.2 liter VTi with 82HP (60 kW), a 1.6 liter HDi FAP diesel with either 92HP (70 kW) or 115HP (85 kW), a 1.6 THP with 125HP (92 kW) and 155HP (114 kW).

The options list includes 17” or 18” alloy wheels fitted with low profile tires, panoramic roof, metallic paint, uprated audio system, along with various packages like Driver Assistance and Comfort.

The new generation of the Peugeot 308 will be available in France in four trim levels: Access, Active, Allure and Feline.

2013 Skoda Octavia vRS – Pricing

Skoda UK has announced the pricing of the all-new 2013 Octavia vRS. The performance model is coming with a price tag of £22,990 on the road. The model is described as the fastest Octavia ever and features some nice upgrades compared to the regular vehicle.

There are two engines in the range – a 2.0 liter TDI and a 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol. The 2.0 liter petrol delivers 220HP (162 kW), which means 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 248 km/h (154 mph), while the 2.0 liter TDI has only 184HP (135 kW) – 0-100 km/h in 8.1 seconds and a top speed of 232 km/h (144 mph).

In addition, to ensure better efficiency, Start-Stop and Brake Energy Regeneration are fitted as standard. Manual gearbox and DSG dual clutch transmission are available as options for both engines, each with six gears.

2014 Skoda Octavia vRS also comes as a standard with sports suspension. The body of the vehicle also has been lowered by 12mm compared to the standard Octavia. There is also a MacPherson strut with underlying triangle wishbone present. Technologies such as Electronic differential lock XDS and electronic stability control (ESC) are now standard.

Other highlights include an aggressive front bumper with LED DRLs, honeycomb mesh grille inserts, bi-xenon headlights, a dual exhaust system and 18” alloy wheels. The interior boasts sports seats, a three-spoke steering wheel and ambient lighting. There’s also dual-zone climate control and a touchscreen infotainment system.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series – US Price $275,000

Mercedes-Benz US has announced the pricing of the 2014 SLS AMG Black Series. The super sports car will hit the US market next month with price tag of $275,000 (excluding $1,800 destination fee).

The SLS AMG Black series is powered by an updated 6.2 liter AMG V8 with 631HP (464 kW) at 7,400RPM and 635Nm (470 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h (196 mph). The SLS-AMG Black Series is just 1550 kg, so the power/weight ratio is 2.45 kg/hp.

Other highlights include coil-over AMG RIDE CONTROL performance suspension, AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system and the weight-optimized forged AMG light-alloy wheels with newly developed sports tyres. There is also an electronically controlled AMG rear-axle differential lock and the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission.

The SLS AMG Black Series is the fifth in the US line-up including SLK55 AMG Black Series from 2006, 2008 CLK63 AMG Black Series, the 2009 SL65 AMG Black Series and the 2013 C63 AMG Black Series.

2014 BMW X5 F15 – US Price $53,725

BMW US has announced the pricing of the all-new 2014 X5 (F15).

The entry level model –sDrive35i RWD (rear-wheel drive) starts from just $53,725 (including $925 destination charge). Next in the price list is the same model, but with xDrive (AWD), which is priced from $56,025.

Both of them are powered by a TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine with 300HP (224 kW) at 5,800RPM and 406 Nm (300 lb-ft) at just 1,200RPM.

The diesel variant – xDrive35d starts from $57,525, while the top-of-range xDrive50i is a lot more expensive – $69,125.

Newly-standard equipment for the X5 includes, but is not limited to, BMW’s Auto Start-Stop system, BMW’s iDrive4.2 Navigation System with Touchpad, 10 years of BMW Assist eCall service, 10 years of BMW TeleService, BMW Apps, 40-20-40 split-folding rear seat, and now standard Servotronic speed-sensitive power steering.

BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive can be complemented by Dynamic Performance Control as part of the optional Dynamic Handling Package. The Dynamic Handling Package also includes Active Roll Stabilization providing an additional edge to the X5’s sporty handling attributes as well as Dynamic Damper Control and a rear-axle air suspension.

Adaptive M suspension, available as part of M Sport, also includes Dynamic Damper Control and rear air suspension with more sports-oriented suspension tuning.

2014 Audi A3 Sedan – UK Price £24,275

Audi UK has announced the pricing of the all-new 2014 A3 Sedan. The entry-level model 1.4TFSI CoD Sport comes at £24,275 and the top-of-range 1.8TFSI S-Line is priced at £28,105. The diesel variant is only one – 2.0TDI Sport for £24,275.

Sport and S line versions sit low on their respective 17” and 18” alloy wheels thanks to sports suspension, but both can also be specified at no extra cost with more comfort-oriented standard suspension.

They also share features including sports seats, the Audi drive select adaptive dynamics system, dual-zone climate control, the MMI radio incorporating an 11 mm-thick powered folding screen and DAB digital radio, preparation for SD card navigation, Audi Music Interface iPod connection, a Driver Information System and the Bluetooth mobile phone interface.

Interior highlights of the S-line specification include part-leather-upholstery embossed with the S line logo and an S line sports steering wheel with perforated leather grips and shift paddles where S tronic is fitted.

Outside, 18” alloy wheels, S line body styling and xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lamps set the top model apart.

Full-LED headlights will also be available later in 2013 as an alternative to the xenon units in S line models and the halogen units in Sport versions.

2014 Cadillac CTS – US Price $46,025

Cadillac has announced the pricing of the all-new 2014 CTS, which starts from $46,025 including a $925 destination charge. This is around $6,000 more than its predecessor, but there is a significant reason for that.

The 3^rd generation CTS sedan grows, ascending into the heart of the midsize luxury market, with an all-new design that is longer, lower and leaner. The new CTS is five inches longer, expanding interior space, but also 244 lbs lighter than the previous model. It is expected to be the lightest car in its segment.

The standard equipment includes a CUE Infotainment system, an 11-speaker Bose premium audio system, Brembo brake system, Magnetic Ride Control and 18” alloy wheels fitted with low-profile tires.

The engine range includes a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 272HP (203 kW) and 400Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, a naturally-aspirated 3.6-liter V6 with 321HP (239 kW) and 373 Nm (275 lb-ft) and a turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 with 420HP (313 kW) and 583Nm (430 lb-ft).

The top-of-range CTS V Sport model is priced at $59,955, and comes equipped with an electronic limited slip differential and 8-speed automatic transmission in RWD only.

2013 Ford Fusion – US Price $21,900

Ford has announced the pricing of the new 2013 Ford Fusion, which is a very good choice, if you are searching for a midsize saloon.

The engines are very fuel-efficient (from 22 mpg in city to 34 mpg on highway). The car also boasts sharp handling, good ride and very low noise in the cabin. Other highlights include advanced technology and a lot of safety systems.

The exterior is really eye-catching compared to other vehicles in the same segment.

There are three trim levels available – S, SE and Titanium. The 2013 Ford Fusion S is priced from $21,900 and includes SAT NAV system, Bluetooth, iPod input, front/side and curtain airbags, stability control and traction control. The SE trim level is priced from $23,855 and the top-of-range Titanium starts at $30,500.
