  • Porsche and the Fairytale for 2017 911 Turbo Models

2017 Porsche 911 Turbo Porsche will make a powerful start in 2016 when the 2017 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S models will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January. The vehicles will be offered in coupe and convertible body style and will feature sharper and more aggressive design, enhanced driving capabilities and extended list of standard equipment. The 911 Turbo will be geared with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder power unit that produces a total of 540hp (397kW), whereas 911 Turbo S will produce 580hp (426kW) and will further benefit from turbochargers with larger impelle. The meaning of all these numbers is that they contribute to incredible 0 to 100km/h (62mph) acceleration: 911 Turbo S finishes the sprint in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 369km/h (205mph), while 911 Turbo offers  2.9 seconds and top speed of 356km/h (198mph).

In fact, the engines also offer a dynamic boost function that improves throttle response during more aggressive driving. What it does is to maintain the boost pressure during load changes which results on better engine responds and enhanced engine flexibility.

    Bold and sharp design

The new generation of 911 Turbo models come with restyled front air blades and narrow LED front lights with double fillets. There are new door handles without recess covers, while the rear fascia has also received some attention: it proudly demonstrates three-dimensional lights with four-point brake lights and aura-like illumination. The models also feature dual tailpipes and exhaust tips. And the sporty, yet beautiful exterior affair is finished with stylish 20-inch wheels with seven double spokes.

The well-known Sport Chrono Pack is now a standard feature for the 2017 editions. It offers some drivetrain tweaks, enhances the driving dynamics and can be used to change the driving character of the vehicle in four ways: Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual. Another cool feature is the Sport Response button. When it is pressed, it preconditions the engine and gearbox and offers some boosted performance for up to 20 seconds.

And as we talk about performance, we must mention the PASM feature that delivers even better balance between performance and comfort. Furthermore, 911 Turbo S offers a full array of performance gadgets like the active roll stabilization program and Porsche Composite Ceramic Brake. The vehicles will also benefit from Park Assist front and rear cameras, LED headlights, 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, two-tone leather interior and carbon-fiber elements.

It gets better and better, right? I wonder, what do you think about Porsche’s 2017 models?

  • This Porsche 911 Turbo S Nemesis is Capable of More Than 600 HP

It is time to hear about something new from the tuning world and this time it is not only related to the tuned car but also to the company. Under the spot is the perfect Porsche 911 Turbo S wich has been transformed by the Prototyp Production tuning company. The specialists have been working for a year now, but this is the first project we hear they are releasing.

Since birth, the tuner has promised to make literally everything in-house: ranging from the paint finish to the carbon elements. For this Porsche, the company hasn’t done much. However, we think that it is perfectly sufficient.

To start with the exterior, first that capture the glances are the changed wheels. The new ones are in-house made and are called NEMESIS. Being a limited edition of only 50 units, they measure 21 inches and are fitted with the appropriate Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in 245/30 ZR21 at the front and 305/25 ZR21 at the rear.

At the back of the car, we also see a new stainless steel exhaust system, which features 2 valves and 200 cells sports cats. This perfectly compliments the improvements done on the engine. Via software treatment the output of 911 Turbo S unit has been enhanced up to 604 hp (444 kW) and 820 Nm (605 lb-ft) of torque.

At last, some simple additions are included throughout the interior like the mat carbon details.

We sincerely hope to see more from the Prototyp Production because this is a promising start of their automotive career.

  • Porsche Exclusive’s “Aerokit Turbo” is what every 911 Turbo Needs

New Aerokit from Porsche Exclusive is now here for all 911 Turbo and Turbo S models. The performance package will add to the exclusiveness of the car and gives it more character and sportiness to its traditional silhouette. Precisely, it includes new front spoiler with side fins as well as an entirely redesigned rear deck lid. The latter has a fixed rear spoiler with side winglets while maintaining the automatically adjusting rear wing.

But the attractive look wasn’t priority number one for the designers. In fact, the aerodynamic function was a top goal during development of the Aerokit. There were extensive tests conducted in the wind tunnel as well as many test drives on the test circuit at the Porsche Development Center in Germany.

The end goal was to enhance the driving dynamics by further improving the downforce. At the same time, Porsche preserved the same coefficient of drag as the standard equipment. The result is a proper integration of the flow-optimized Aerokit into the harmoniously balanced overall concept.

To make an example, the aerodynamic components of the “Aerokit Turbo” create even more downforce at the front and rear axles. This in turn increases driving stability at high speeds. The total downforce generated by the 911 Turbo adaptive aerodynamics at 186 mph on the track was increased to 57 lbs in the Speed setting, and to 331 lbs in the Performance setting.

There are two versions of the “Aerokit Turbo”. The first one is in car’s body color, while the second one is in high-gloss black. Next to the goodies coming from the kit, there are also side skirts and rear fascia painted in the body color. In the black version only, the air intake cover on the rear lid is painted black.

Porsche Exclusive’s “Aerokit Turbo” is currently on sale with a starting price of $6,950 USD.
