  • Peugeot 2008 SUV Allure

2014-peugeot-308-allure-910Since its launch in 2013, Peugeot’s 2008 has become something of a success story, with over 11,000 units sold annually – a significant leap from the modest 1,500 that was initially predicted.

Its appeal is easy to see. The crossover is a class act that offers a combination of practicality and style. And when it comes to mid-trim level Allure, the model strikes the perfect balance of contemporary tech, sleek styling and dynamic performance, making it the ultimate choice for those seeking an SUV that ticks all the boxes.

    High-End Spec

Allure is an attractive trim level in the line-up, offering a luxurious spec and slick design. While this model is compact for a crossover SUV, its impressive exterior hints at the kit inside. There are electric folding door mirrors, alloy wheels and automatic headlights and wipers, making this a model that offers useful details while delivering them in style.

Inside, the central touchscreen is easy to navigate and easily controls the car’s features and functions. In addition, you’ll find that comfort meets forward-thinking tech. A soft, partial leather trim and leather steering wheel are the luxe materials that make drivers feel relaxed, while details like rear parking and tyre pressure sensors, automatic climate control and DAB radio all deliver the key elements to make this a fun, safe drive.

    Smooth Drive

When it comes to driving the Allure, drivers are spoilt for choice. There’s an impressive range of petrol engines that have been released in recent years, ranging from a 1.2 with a bhp of 80 right up to the PureTech with a bhp of 130.

If you have your sights set on a diesel, there’s the 1.5-litre BlueHDi, which can get from 0-60mph in 10 seconds. There’s also a selection of 1.6 diesel engines in the range, with the e-HDi’s bhp at 115.

Overall, the engine you opt for will depend on whether you’re seeking a fast, fuel efficient diesel or a sedate petrol.

    Well-Equipped Model

The Peugeot 2008 Allure’s impressive kit makes it ideal for drivers with an array of lifestyles. The safety features and roomy interior suits families, while those seeking a car that presents an SUV style while still being suitable for city driving won’t be disappointed.

For those planning for a model that can handle long distances, this is also a great choice. Smooth suspension and handling has become the French car manufacturer’s trademark, and these are what makes longer journeys easy in the Allure.

If you’re looking for a compact SUV crossover that’s an all-rounder, this is a great option.

  • PEUGEOT 2008: what should we expect? Or, more correctly, what should we NOT expect

2016 PEUGEOT 2008 GT PEUGEOT 2008 Compact SUV hits showrooms next week! Audience will have the chance to see what is going on with PEUGEOT’s plans for the future and see brand’s latest offerings. We have already told you about the 3008 GT SUV – it is not bad, but still there are some tweaks to be done. So, what are we to expect from its smaller brother?

PEUGEOT 2008 has been updated and tweaked a bit. The exterior design is a familiar one: apparently the design team decided to keep to these well-known lines and expression. And yes, this means that the ugly headlamps and the stupid front grille smile are still present. Even the new Ultimate Red color finish cannot hide the annoyingly popular face expression.

    2016 PEUGEOT 2008 GT

Coming in three trim levels, Access, Active and Allure, 2008 also keeps the same interior styling, or the so-called PEUGEOT i-Cockpit. To be honest, the interior does not look that bad: premium feel and exclusivity are not present, neither are some elegant and smooth lines, but it looks comfortable and functional. The compact steering wheel looks just fine and the 7-inch multifunctional touch screen should do the job.

What we also know so far is that 2008 will be offered with Grip Control function, standard feature for all trim levels, along with a set of special all-season tires. Cool! Buyers will also be granted with MirrorScreen, rear-view camera, Active City Brake system and Park Assist function.

    2016 PEUGEOT 2008 GT

And the drivetrain? Well, as you may have already guessed: nothing special, but it still can deal with many road situations. Good thing is that the power unit is a Euro6 certified one and is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It is a 1.2-liter PureTech unit with a total output of 130hp: if you are using the vehicle on daily basis and don’t expect sporty wonders, you should remain happy with it.

So, what do we have so far? Ugly headlamps: check. Stupid smile: check. Strange styling lines at the back: check. Cozy-looking interior: also check. Descent drivetrain unit: check. By far it looks like a regular PEUGEOT model, but who knows what the manufacturer hides under its sleeves? We will find out next week!

    Exterior design

The strong personality of the vehicle is achieved by the robust vertical front grille and the integrated headlights with a distinctive “feline look”, while the sides proudly show sharp lines and curves that continue to the back of the vehicle, which is massive, dynamic and attractive. Furthermore, the rear bumper forms part of the solid black protective trim and preserves the bodywork with the additionally geared scuff plates and wheel arch extensions.

Also, the 2008 GT Line shows its new and shiny 17-inch alloys with gloss black/anthracite finish. Also, the gloss black elements replace the standard chrome effect and is applied to the front grille, surrounds, fog light covers, mirrors and roof bars.

    Interior design

The dynamic approach is also continued inside. The interior welcomes you to a cozy and futuristic place with stainless steel components, aluminum pedals and red-stitching edged floor mats. Also, the heads-up display is now widened and offers even more functions, compared to predecessor models.

Also, there is a special Grip Control function that optimizes traction, according to the terrain via its four modes. • PEUGEOT 2008 Urban Cross: Dissapointment Comes With Orange Stripes

PEUGEOT 2008 Urban CrossPEUGEOT 2008 Urban Cross special edition is finally here. It was the expected move by the brand, after it released 2008 Crossover Special Edition. The Urban Cross has numerous goodies to demonstrate, so let’s waste no more time and get started.

PEUGEOT 2008 Urban Cross and the additions

    Drivetrain system

PEUGEOT 2008 Urban Cross strictly follows its predecessors and comes with Active badge level, which greatly benefit this model especially. Now the Special Edition comes with two powerplant options: the 1.2-Liter PureTech 110 hp (80 kW), which offers 108/km of CO2 or the 1.6-liter BlueHDi 100 hp (73 kW) S&S with 95 g/km of CO2 emissions. If I have to be honest, we expected some more power, but the good fellows at PEUGEOT decided this is more than enough. I wonder what customers and fans think about the power output.

    PEUGEOT 2008 Urban Cross

    Exterior

In fact, there is nothing so interesting about the exterior design of the PEUGEOT 2008 Urban Cross. You will deal with the same old funny and stupidly “smiled” grille and the same  old long headlights. The designers and engineers definitely tried to add some confidence and ready-to-go stance, but the overall look of the front is just.. boring. Just like the back. It demonstrates the same boring lines and contours, that together create an empty and blank space. But don’t lose hope. There is at least one interesting feature. The sides come with interesting stripes in orange color. But the patter is made good, without the annoying attention-seeking character of the orange. The lines are almost stylish and make the impression of blending with the body color. Not that bad solution, when I take a second look.

    Interior

Sadly, there isn’t also something interesting about the interior too. Although it could be a cozy place for one to be, the style looks also boring and made without any passion. However, it looks safe and ready to offer all it has to offer to the driver. The back seats also continue this uninteresting affair. In fact, only the luggage space compensates with all the volume it has to offer. Hopefully it will compensate the overall disappointing interior concept.

  • Peugeot 2008 DKR – Technical Specs

Peugeot 2008 DKR is going to compete in the world’s most tough motorsport challenge – 2015 Dakar Rally. A lot of obstacles await for the 2008 DKR – dunes, mountains, dry river beds, canyons, furnace-like temperatures, salt deserts, rough terrain, sand and many more. To tackle this tremendous challenge, Team Peugeot-Total has followed a very daring technical path.

“Much like we did at the Le Mans 24 Hours by electing to run a closed-cockpit car, we decided to adopt an innovative concept,” explained Peugeot Sport Director Bruno Famin.

“When it comes to cross-country rallying, the biggest question is whether to run with four-wheel-drive or just two. After a detailed study of the question, we decided to go for two-wheel drive transmission which presents a number of interesting benefits.”, he added.

This bold decision will enable the team to try to become the first to win the Dakar with two-wheel drive and diesel engine.

    Peugeot 2008 DKR is powered by a V6 twin-turbo diesel mid-rear engine – 340HP (250 kW).

“Fitting all of the vital assemblies into such a small space gave us quite a headache!”, admitted Technical project manager Jean-Christophe Pallier.

“Small cars tend to perform more comfortably over twisty WRC-type stages, so this arrangement increases the potential of two-wheel drive cars in situations where the 4x4s tend to have the edge.”, he added.

Beyond the conviction – expressed by Red Bull for the last two years – that two-wheel-drive vehicles possess attractive qualities that shine through even across the most inhospitable of terrains.

  • Peugeot 2008 Crossover climbs the Tamworth Snowdome

Peugeot-2008-Crossover-at-the-Tamworth-Snowdome-651The reveal of the new 2013 Peugeot 2008 Crossover happened in the beginning of the year, and now the vehicle is currently being launched worldwide. It comes to demonstrate its capability of pioneering Grip Control improved traction technology in the most dramatic way.

Peugeot has just released a video, showing how the crossover behaves when it is driven up and down an indoor snow slope. The driving route happened at the popular Snowdome in Tamworth, Staffs, which has a 170-metre ski slope.

At first, the driving began with a car without the utilization of the Grip Control and hence the Peugeot 2008 struggled to get more than a few metres on the hard-packed snow. However, when a vehicle with Grip Control was used (Grip Control is standard on Allure and Feline trim levels with 1.6 petrol and diesel engines), the contrast in performance stood out.

Thanks to the improved traction control and all season tyres, Peugeot 2008 drove straight to the top of the slope. Another challenge was when the drivers were even encouraged to perform an emergency stop on the descent. Due to car’s advanced traction system, the stop was brought quickly to a halt with the minimum of fuss.

Grip Control was especially designed for customers who have active lifestyles and drive on a big range of different surfaces thus needing more traction. The technology works through components which are to be found in the vehicle and in addition it also works on its front wheels in order to enhance confidence of driving and safety.

Furthermore, the standard mode was developed for normal road conditions and where there is a low level of skidding. Nonetheless, the Standard mode can be switched via a dial located in the centre console, to a Snow, Off-Road, Sand or ESP Off mode. The effect is high level of performance, which is usually associated with 4×4 off-road vehicles.

2013 Peugeot 2008 Crossover will be available at dealerships in mid-July.

  • 2013 Peugeot 2008 – More than an urban Crossover

Peugeot has officially announced the new 2008 urban crossover. The vehicle will make its appearance at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March. The car is in the same class as Nissan Juke.

The 2008 is based on Peugeot 208. It is 4160mm long, which is 25mm longer than the Juke. The exterior reminds to 208 a lot. The front and rear lights are identical as well as the front grille. The difference is the ride-height as well as the driving position. Both are raised in order to get better view, comfort and more safety. An innovation is a complete body kit including new bumpers and side skirts.

The 2008 rolls 17” wheels fitted with low-profile tires. It is interesting that the car won’t get AWD, so this may hurt the off-road capabilities. Still, there will be a “Grip Control” traction control, which is the same one found in the larger 3008.

The engine range will include a new three-cylinder 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol. The diesel variants are two – a 1.4 liter HDI and a 1.6 liter HDI. The emissions will be below 100 g/km of CO2.

Stay tuned for full information and prices.

  • Peugeot 2008 Concept Revealed

Peugeot-2008-Concept-THUMBIt is a big day for all fans of Peugeot, because the brand is coming out with another exciting concept – this time the Peugeot 2008 Concept. The car will in fact go in production in 2013 and it is designed to appeal to the young-minded generation who seek practicality.

The new concept is going to be unveiled in Paris later this month. Although not a big vehicle it combines agility, compactness, versatility and a striking style perfectly suitable for the city as well as for the countryside. In particular, the 2008 Concept has compact dimensions: 4.14 m long and 1.74 m wide.

Being a true Peugeot, it has all the unique design features which are emblematic for the brand. It has athletic and sleek lines and imposes bold posture. It grabs the attention immediately because it is painted fluorescent yellow with Velvet matt varnish. The car’s presence is further emphasized by its Dark Chrome details.

Furthermore, the front face of the concept is refined. The bonnet and wings give a reassuring impression of protection and strength. This perception is identical at the rear where the shape combines solidity with dynamism.

Of course a lot of attention is paid to the details. The “floating grille” has a design cut into the metal, combined with a sophisticated dual-aspect treatment following the instance of the new Peugeot emblem.

The new concept runs on large Michelin wheel. The design of their wheel arches and the ground clearance represents an active life without restraint and give a perfect sense of agility, versatility and lightweight.

More importantly, a 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine is going to give power to this Peugeot. The new generation engine perfectly fits the dynamism and power exuded by this concept car.

In particular, the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine has a turbo and direct injection. It generates power of 110 hp (81 kW) and offers low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
