  • Petrolicious: Ferrari 512 BBi Is A Piece of Art [VIDEO]

petrolicious-ferrari-THUMBEveryone gets always excited when they hear the word Ferrari. It carries some special magic in itself and makes us dreaming about the exquisite models of the Italian brand. Maybe you have heard about Holger Schubert and his office/garage.

In fact, he has made his living place an exhibition hall in which the pieces of art are vehicles. In this current Petrolicious video we are to see how one of his cars – namely the Ferrari 512 BBi is taking a central part in the interior of the house.

For Schubert, regarding architecture and design, his tastes are absolutely focused towards everything being as minimal as possible. For this reason he has chosen to put the Ferrari model in front of a white wall in his home, thus reminding the spectators of a blank white canvas with a piece of art in front of it.

As a matter of fact, he took his work-of-art BB 512i and built everything around it. As any showcased work of art deserves to be, Holger’s car is in the spotlight and on the pedestal that is the studio garage, which was designed and built for the specific purpose of working and living alongside the Ferrari.

To go even further into details, the BB 512i was produced in 1981 and the horsepower it delivers are 340 hp (254 kW) at 6000 rpm. The torque is estimated around 333 lb•ft (451 N•m) at 4200 rpm. • Petrolicious: The Last Of The Breed [VIDEO]

Owning one of the rarest cars on earth is more than a privilege. The 1974 Jaguar XK-E in this video is literally the last of its breed, being the 60th from last produced. The proud person who drives this Jaguar is David Paddison, who immediately fell in love when he saw it. And this is the basic line of the story of Petrolicious‘s latest video.

Paddison didn’t grow up in a car-loving family, instead he developed his passion for cars with his friends with whom he grew up racing slot cars before graduating into full-sized versions. His passion today developed in that way that he now collects classic cars.

The E-Type or simply the XK-E was produced between 1961 and 1974, and offered combination of exceptional appearance and high performance. The car was also ranked first in the list of the world’s “100 most beautiful cars” of all time.

To go even further into details, the 1974 version was equipped with 5.3 L V12 engine and included uprated brakes and standard power steering. And as Paddison says himself – this XK-E can not be compared to the contemporary cars, it delivers extremely different driving experience!

  • Petrolicious: Volkswagen Beetle – Kindred Spirits [VIDEO]

When you think about which car is one of the most famous and emblematic one in history you will definitely ponder on at least five models. What is also certain is that among them will be the iconic Volkswagen Beetle. One of the best words to describe this vehicle is “ubiquitous”.

The model entered production in 1935 and since then from it were produced over 21 million units. With almost 80 years old history the Beetle continues to be as successful as in its days of fame. Although it remained mostly unpopular with its original name – Volkswagen Type 1, the Beetle remains the longest-running and most manufactured car of a single design platform.

Despite the fact that so many cars of this Volkswagen model were produced, it is still extremely hard to find two Beetles that are customized in the same way. The idea of endless customization is probably what endears so many to model, or perhaps it is that behind these cars there are no two owners alike. This basically means that behind every one of it there is a story.

In the video below, the fellows from Petrolicious show exactly this: the story of Stephan Ruiz and his Beetle. After many mishaps involving stolen, burned, and wrecked Beetles, he has eventually found his personal Beetle. Clean is the best word to describe this one-year-only 1967 Beetle, and Stephan wants to keep it that way.

  • Petrolicious: The Testarossa Presence [VIDEO]

Ferrari Testarossa debuted back in 1984 at Paris Auto Show when it made a great furore. This sports car was the successor to the famous Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer. The Testarossa was equipped with twelve-cylinder mid-engine and the model was produced from 1992 to 1996.

Despite the high price and the exotic design, this Ferrari was produced in over 10 000 units, making it one of the most common Ferrari models. The two-door coupe with a fixed roof had the power fed through the wheels from a rear-mounted five-speed manual transmission.

Its unit delivered a maximum torque of 490 Nm (361 lb-ft) at 4500 rpm and generated maximum power of 291 kilowatts (390 hp) at 6300 rpm. These numbers made it possible for the Ferrari Testarossa to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 5.3 seconds on its way to a Vmax of 290 km/h (180 mph).

The “redhead”, what “testarossa” means in Italian, is the main star of the new video that has been just published by the team at Petrolicious. With this footage they aim to show that this supercar, deserves much more respect than it garners.

In the video below, you can watch the story of the vintage car collector Joe Ventura, who is lucky enough to live daily with this beautiful redhead.

PetroliciosMB-THUMBA strange family tradition was inherited in Mark Markoff’s family, since his father – Don, had a very unusual and yet one of the best hobbies – to collect valuable cars. One such example is the 1960 Mercedes-Benz 220SE, which Don bought for the mother of Mark in 1963.
