  • Lotus Evora Type 124 Endurance Racecar

    The base of this race car is the Lotus Evora Type 124, which was introduced earlier this year. There are number of changes, which has been made the car specially for endurance races.

    The Lotus Racercar will compete in several races during 2010/2011 season. One of them is the famous ADAC Nürburgring 24 Hours at Nordschleife race track in Germany.

  • Nissan GT-R Becomes Fastest Fire-Fighter At The Nurburgring

    The ultimate fire-fighting vehicle is ready for the ’ring. Nissan has today presented a specially redesigned GT-R to Nürburgring GmbH, providing the fastest possible response to emergency calls at Nürburgring’s Nordschleife circuit.

    Equipped with a fire extinguishing system with water and foam on board attached to a hose pipe accessed via the sizeable boot, this GT-R is designed to get to the scene of a blaze in the quickest possible time. In standard road-car form, the GT-R is capable of lapping the famous Nordschleife in only 7 mins 26 seconds 70*, making it the perfect tool for the Nürburgring’s emergency services. Even with the extra 200kg of fire fighting equipment on board, the GT-R can still lap the challenging circuit in less than 8 minutes. (more…)

  • Arden Jaguar XKR 5.0L Convertible

    As part of the Oldtimer Grand Prix taking place at Nürburgring, Arden is putting the new Jaguar XKR 5.0L on show.

    The 2010 Jaguar XKR 5.0L model only needed slight modification due to its modelling on the Arden AJ20 Coupe design introduced at the International Automobile Fair (IAA.)in 2005. This, alongside the various well known 9×21” sportline alloy wheels, the new 5.0L possesses a redesigned chassis, which was developed in collaboration with Bilstein and improves the driving dynamics and agility of the wild cat. The special high performance stainless steel exhaust system with sport catalytics guarantees not only increases performance and improves handling at low speeds, but also has an out-of-this world sound.   • Renault Megane R26.R Continues To Set The Pace

    Renault’s Megane R26.R continues to set benchmark lap times at UK tracks. Last year, the Megane R26.R established a new lap record for a front-wheel drive production car at the 13-mile Nürburgring circuit in Germany with a time of just 8 minutes 17 seconds.   • Ultimate endurance test for new Audi R8 LMS

    In the course of the further development of the Audi R8 LMS, an ultimate endurance test is on the agenda for the new GT3 sports car of AUDI AG at the end of May: On May 23/24, Teams ABT Sportsline and Phoenix Racing, with “factory” support by Audi, will field a total of four vehicles in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring.   • Lexus Enters Brace of LF-A in Round the Clock ‘Ring Race

    LF-A sportscar prototypeLexus will enter two LF-A sportscar prototypes in the Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race on 23-24 May, 2009.

    The entry of the two-seater sportscar, which is powered by a 5.0-litre, V10 producing more than 500PS, forms part of an on-going R&D process. As in 2008, Lexus engineers will use the gruelling race at the infamous German track to gather technical data that will be applied to future mass-production of vehicles.   • Blistering Cts-V Launches Into The Uk: Cadillac Supersaloon’s Prices Announced

    The all-new CTS-V ‘supersaloon’ – the most powerful Cadillac ever – is available from February 2009 and will be priced from £56,495 on-the-road (£58,995 for the automatic transmission model).

    CTS-V’s supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine delivers 564 ps (415 kW) and 747 Nm, launching the car to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds and on to 191 mph where legal (175 mph for the automatic transmission). Its incredible performance capabilities enabled the CTS-V to claim the unofficial lap record for a production saloon (7 mins 59.32 secs) around the Nürburgring’s legendary Nordschleife circuit in October 2008.
