Nissan GT-Rs have always been a favorite for ambitious tuners. What we see here can only support that theory. It’s a collaboration project between two companies – The American based PUR Wheels company and the Indonesian Premier Autowerkz… apparently. The whole project is rather obscure and not much information is available.
On what we can focus however, are those 3 piece “4OUR Depth“ PUR wheels they have fitted. Beautifully made 5 double spokes (that’s one way of putting it). It’s as if fragile twigs support the weight of the whole Nissan. The wheel arches are nicely filled in and the gold calipers certainly make a statement – “I like it a bit flashy”. Indeed, if I were to drive around in a car that has such a conspicuous racing strip across the hood, roof and trunk, one must assume that that I like flashy things, no doubt.
Other than that we can see some fascia work being done at the front and back. Also these exhaust tips do not look very stock. We’ll be on the lookout for more information about this. Otherwise we can play the guessing game all day long.
Autocar.co.uk has released a test review of the strange Nissan Juke-R, which is claimed to be the ultimate crossover. Practically, the car is a GT-R with different body, because everything from the sports car is taken and put in the Juke.
The Juke-R is powered by a twin-turbo 3.8 liter V6 with 485HP (357 kW) at 6400RM and 588Nm (434 lb-ft) at 3200RPM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox enabling the car to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and having a top speed of 258 km/h (160 mph).
There is no doubt, that the Juke-R is very interesting, fun and spectacular, but all in all it is a marketing trick aiming to boost Nissan’s sales.
The car have been developed by Nissan and are being built by leading motorsports outfit RML with input from Nissan Technology Centre for Europe (NTC-E).
The ultimate crossover also features sport suspension, huge wheels and performance brake system. The interior is also coming from GT-R. You’ll see the same dashboard, dials, steering wheel and many more.
What are the impressions? Check in the video below.
Nissan won’t be the only company that shows back ends as teasers for the New York International Auto Show. Here’s something from Toyota as well. Supposedly it will be a “stunning” sedan that has been U.S.-designed. The global premiere will take place in the Galleria room within the Jacob Javits Center at 10:30 a.m. EDT on April 5, 2012.
Toyota are being quite quiet about it so we’ll just have to guess. “Elegant yet athletic” they say. Well, this sketch here does suggest the latter. Obviously, those wheel arches won’t be that full in real life, or will they? Whichever the case, the teaser does seem to work. We are deeply interested now of what this might be. That further works for the argument that one doesn’t need silly 8-second videos that show passing florescent lights over something, in order to inspire curiosity.
On the day of the reveal a live-streaming video chat with the designers is being scheduled. The public and the media can forward direct inquiries about this sedan via Facebook or Twitter.
Nissan has revealed the GT-R Nismo GT3 race car, which is prepared by JR Motorsports, the official partner for this major project. GT-R GT3 has been developed since 2011 and now it is put on series of extensive tests – which have included three competitive outings.
The GT-R Nismo GT3 is powered by a 3.8 liter twin-turbo V6 with 530 PS (390 kW / 523 hp) and 612 Nm (451 lb-ft) of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed semi-automatic transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels. It is interesting, because originally the GT-R is AWD car, but the racing version will be a lot faster with only one drive axle.
The racing car was displayed in the UK at Autosport International (Europe’s biggest motorsport exhibition) in January, but since then nothing special is mentioned about it, until now.
However, JRM and NISMO offer the racecar in Japan, Asia, North America, South America, Oceania, Europe, Russia and the Middle East. The price starts from 298 000 Euro.
Yet another teaser from Nissan – thrilling. This time we get a verification that the upcoming Altima has doors… four of them (or two on one side). Then they say that they have an image as well, but it’s just a still shot from the video. What good is that?
The company’s marketing strategy really is an unorthodox one. First we had a teaser which was sort of uninformative, then there was a second one which was ok-ish. The third one started to feel banal and now this. For how long do we have to piece together all of that information. At the very least, we would have to wait for the New Your Auto show which is due in April. This Altima will be the fifth-generation from a family of mid-sized, sensible saloons. It better be good as the fuss about is seems tremendous.
Nissan GT-R is one of the best drag racing vehicles currently available on the market. It’s time attack qualities are also astonishing, but almost nothing can compete versus a tuned GT-R. Here, we have one of the fastest GT-Rs in the world – The Hulk. It is a creation of the United Kingdom’s tuning company Severn Valley Motorsport.
The Hulk has completely rebuilt engine with more than 1250HP (932 kW) and still it is a street legal car. The displacement of the twin-turbocharged V6 growth to 4.2 liters. It also gets two enormous GTX GT35 Garrett turbochargers, Radec Full race front mounted Intercooler, 1600 ID Injectors and many more upgrades.
The gearbox is also different as well as the chassis, the electronics, the exterior boasts a complete wide-body kit, a set of new wheels and tires and last, but not least – restyled interior.
You can check all upgrades in the list below, but until then see how easy the Hulk hits over 350 km/h (218 mph). The data was recorded by GPS data acquisition system VBOX by Racelogic, which is completely precise.

Dragtimesinfo has released another nice video, but this time two tuned bikes met each other at the race track.
The first one is Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa Turbo K3 with 270HP and the second Suzuki GSX-R1000 Stage 2 with 200HP. The Hayabusa is considered to be the fastest production bike not long ago, but turbocharging its engine is just insane. Logically, it wins the start against the 1000cc bike by far. The rider of the Hayabusa had a reaction time of 0.014 seconds and 60ft for 2.084 seconds meaning a lot of wheel spin, because of all that power. However, he crossed the finish line at the 1 mile mark with 306.11 km/h and a time of 25.898 seconds (without reaction).
In the second start you will see the less powerful motorcycle – the GSX-R1000 Stage 2 versus a highly tuned Nissan GT-R MK.1 Ecutek Stage 2 with 600HP. Although, the Nissan has triple much power than the bike, it weighs eight time more, so the result is inevitable. The bike crosses the finish four seconds ahead of the car.
Check out the amazing reaction of the Hayabusa driver in the video below.

A new world record set by the monstrous AMS Nissan GT-R at ¼ mile.
The street legal car with more than 1600HP managed to stop the clock at 8.63 seconds, when crossed the finish line at the 402 meter mark with a terminal speed of 172.15 mph (276.98 km/h). It is just insane to see a “normal” car with normal tyres do that. The parachute is much needed, because the brakes simply won’t manage too well, especially, if the AMS GT-R makes several starts.
What is more, AMS claim that this is not the end and the tuned Nissan will set even better time. As you can see in the end of the start, the rear bumper or parts of it flew away from the car, but this wasn’t the only problem.
Just before the finish line an intercooler pipe popped off, so the car didn’t run all the way on full boost (35 psi) and AMS promises that the next time, there will be more boost. We just can’t wait to see another record. Until then, enjoy the video below.
Nissan brand has just released their third video clip which offers additional insight on the bold new design of long-expected new 2013 Nissan Altima. The vehicle is going to make its world debut at the 2012 New York Auto Show in April. The brand however, didn’t release much information about their upcoming product, but on the contrary teases the public with “teaser” video clips and thus making the interest grow. What Nissan has done until the present moment is to disclose two exclusive video clips of the new car, which show it from two different perspectives: from the front and from above. There seems to be a lot of gossip around the new Altima and how it is going to perform in terms of fuel efficiency, power, etc. What we can undoubtedly expect is a premium design and technologies focused on enhancing the driving experience. What we see in this video is an additional glimpse – this time on the rear. No doubt, that thus image gives as a hint of the all-new Altima’s design and forward-thinking innovations: Nissan promises that they will bring outstanding fuel economy, premium design inside and out, and driver-focused technologies to this midsize sedan.
Nissan has revealed an interesting concept vehicle. It is called DeltaWing and it will showcase the pioneering technology that will show one potential direction for the future of motorsport and will feed into the research and development of future technologies, that filter down to Nissan’s road car product range.
It is powered by a race-prepared 1.6-litre four-cylinder direct injected turbocharged petrol engine. It is badged DIG-T (Direct Injection Gasoline – Turbocharged) and is expected to produce around 300HP, sufficient to give Nissan DeltaWing lap times between LMP1 and LMP2 machines at Le Mans, despite having only half the power of those conventional prototypes.
“As motor racing rulebooks have become tighter over time, racing cars look more and more similar and the technology used has had less and less relevance to road car development. Nissan DeltaWing aims to change that and we were an obvious choice to become part of the project,” said Andy Palmer, Executive Vice President, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
“But this is just the start of our involvement. Nissan DeltaWing embodies a vast number of highly-innovative ideas that we can learn from. At the same time, our engineering resources and commitment to fuel efficiency leadership via our PureDrive strategy will help develop DeltaWing into a testbed of innovation for Nissan. This announcement gives Nissan the opportunity to become part of a ground-breaking motorsport project and one which could shape the future of the sport,” he added.
Nissan DeltaWing is extremely different than everything else on track. The driver sits well back in the car, almost over the rear axle and looks ahead down a long, narrow fuselage to narrow twin front tyres, specially created for the car by tyre partner Michelin.
The engine is rear-mounted and the car has a strong rearward weight bias, which makes it highly manoeuvrable, while its light weight and slippery shape make it far more efficient.
Nissan has announced the Invitation Concept at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The first details of a head-turning hatchback concept which previews the company’s next generation compact car, a mainstream B-segment contender to be sold alongside the Micra city car and innovative JUKE B-segment crossover.
The vehicle is designed to preview a new upcoming production model. The name of the project name is INVITATION. The dynamic concept shows some of the innovation and excitement promised for the new model, which is due to be launched in Europe from 2013.
The interior combines practicality and modernity with impressive levels of quality and purposeful technology features.
“The name we have given to this concept is self-explanatory… the key benefit of this compact car is to be inviting.”, commented François Bancon, Deputy Division General Manager of Product Strategy and Product Planning Division.
“It is inviting thanks to its sensuous exterior design and generous and comfortable interior space, cleverly packaged within compact overall dimensions. It is Nissan’s invitation to buyers in the compact hatchback segment.”, he added.
INVITATION’s combination of energetic exterior style, thoughtful interior, advanced safety features and class-leading emissions, fuel economy and dynamic performance demonstrates Nissan’s commitment to offering innovation and excitement to all car buyers, no matter what type of car they are looking to buy.
“Nissan has always been a key player in the B-segment and INVITATION shows the depth of our commitment to the small car market. The production version of INVITATION will offer buyers a superb combination of advanced technology, driving excitement and practicality in a compact package.”, finished Paul Willcox, Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing in Europe.
2012 Nissan Hi-Cross Concept is the new dramatic concept car from Nissan and its world premiere is at 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Hi-Cross is a concept crossover which looks like a possible expansion of the current Juke-Qashqai-Murano portfolio. The vehicle is compact yet roomy, elegant yet purposeful. Hi-Cross Concept has a highly space efficient interior with three rows of seats for seven passengers. Its hybrid drive train includes an electric motor – powered by a Nissan-developed compact lithium-ion battery – in combination with a 2.0-litre direct injection petrol engine. Both provide the performance potential of a 2.5-litre with the economy and emissions expected from a much smaller unit. The HEV drivetrain is based on new technology developed by Nissan for front-wheel drive models. However, it was modified to provide four-wheel drive. Nissan’s new generation XTRONIC system is also included and it delivers continuously variable transmission which by itself achieves a 10 per cent improvement in fuel economy over comparable previous generation CVTs. The battery technology has high output, fast-charging compact lithium-ion battery, linked to high-level motor control technology. It provides acceleration assist when needed and permits downsizing of the petrol engine for optimum economy and emissions. In city driving, for instance, the presence of the electric motor and lithium-ion battery allow the engine to be turned off frequently. It can also be disengaged completely with the clutch, and energy can be recovered effectively when braking.
2012 Nissan Hi-Cross Concept
Furthermore, 2012 Nissan Hi-Cross Concept sits on a 2780mm wheelbase. It is 4660mm long, 1850mm wide and 1670mm tall, with 21-inch alloy wheels. The front has a characteristic V-shaped grille set off by distinctive lighting signatures provided by stylish new headlamps. At the rear it has distinctive lighting signatures provided by stylish rear combination lamps echoing with headlamp lighting signature. Inside, the seven-seat cockpit is dominated by a new T-wing shaped dashboard. This is a pure concept car, which explores the potential ideas for the future. It is a high-riding crossover, therefore no wonder where the name came from.
