  • WRAPworks creates new outfit for the Mustang GT Fastback

WRAPworks Ford Mustang GT Side ViewAnother interesting tuning project for today is presented before us by the German specialists at WRAPworks. Their name might sound misleading, because this tuning is not only about foil wrapping, but also modifications regarding performance and driving enjoinment. Although the Mustangs are not a common car in Europe, WRAPworks have managed to put their hands on a 421 hp, 5.0-liter V8 Mustang GT ‘Fastback’. As a result, they have made it even more impressive and literally a rolling showcase for their art.

The Foil Work and Other Colors

Starting-off with the wrapping, as a basis of the design the tuners used a two-tone scheme. Here, the original Iridium Black Mica paint stayed untouched on its front and roof, while the rear and the flanks aft of the front wheel arches were covered in a matt silver metallic film.

To create a complex design, WRAPworks featured a series of angled stripes and lettering in Chrome Silver and bright Neon Yellow and Neon Green. When looked from different angles they reveal new details.

Interestingly enough the color-coded work did not end here. Mustang’s factory 9.0 and 9.5×19-inch alloys were powder coated Neon Green at the front and Neon Yellow at the rear. In addition, the windows now include 95-percent tint.

    Performance Upgrades

WRAPworks Ford Mustang GT Rear view

The well-known Mustang experts at Roush Performance delivered new Hood and Window Scoops, rear spoiler and under body diffuser, the new Cold Air Intake system and the four-pipe rear exhaust system. The same specialists made the Roush gearshift knob, which makes the shifting slicker.

At last, the ST X coilover suspension lowers the ride height and makes better the wheel control. On the other hand, the combination of Eibach 40 mm front and Velocity Wheel 46 mm rear wheel spacers and the Steeda Autosports G-Trac underbody brace further improves the Mustang GT’s driving dynamics. Well, it does this to the on-road stance of the car, doesn’t it?

  • 2015 Hennessey Mustang is Almost 300 HP Faster in Texas! [VIDEO]

How fast do you think Mustang GT can go? This is rather tricky question because for such car the sky is the limit really. When 435 horsepower from the stock 5.0-liter engine is not enough, the specialists from Hennessey Performance come to the rescue. With their HPE700 package, the Ford Mustang receives a power and performance upgrade which rockets the car like never before. There is one certain thing – John Hennessey and his gang of ultimate-performance creators are not scared to travel as fast as the light.

What would make the 435-ponies-car achieve even more dazzling results than before? The answer is simple: an additional 2.9-liter supercharger, refined fuel injectors and custom engine calibration.

In order to test the immense power of the tweaked beast, Hennessey team of technicians and experts rounded up and drove to Uvalde, Texas, to do some testing on the 8.0 mile high speed oval. After completing a warm up lap, Hennessey tried the performance of the Ford Mustang GT HPE700 at a higher speed. He comments; “Cruising through the final turn I was trying to maintain 120-130 mph while building some speed as I neared the straight. When I hit the straight, I wanted to be around 140 mph and then let all of the Mustang’s horsepower run wide open. The car pulled very strong and just kept pulling. I hit a pretty nasty bump around 170 mph and kept my foot on the gas. Then I hit the rev limiter at just over 195 mph according to the Racelogic VBox display”.

So, all in all, the spectacular 195 mph top speed and 717 HP are joined by 632 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to the upgrade, the 2015 Hennessey Ford Mustang GT covers the 60 mph run in just 3.6 seconds, and completes the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds at 130 mph.

As it looks like, everything seems to run faster in Texas, don’t you think?

  • John Hennessey Test Drives Stock 2015 Mustang GT up to 150 mph [VIDEO]

2015-Hennessey-Ford-Mustang-GT-THUMBRemember the Hennessey Performance Ford Mustang GT HPE700? Well, if you do than you will be satisfied to see the video below. In it John Hennessey test drives the stock 2015 Mustang GT up to 150 mph. Stock baseline dyno testing was also performed. Hennessey’s 717 horsepower supercharged 2015 Ford Mustang has firepower to battle the Corvette Z06 or the SRT Hellcat! And this makes it the most powerful Mustang currently on the market. And also the fastest!

The car with superpowers runs from 0 to 100 km/h in mere 3.6 seconds. Key to that are not only the 717 hp (527 kW), but also the torque, which is 856 Nm (632 lb-ft) at 4400 rpm. Helping the Coyote V8 breathe more deeply is a high-flow throttle body and stainless-steel exhaust system.

Upgraded injectors and fuel pumpfeed the V8, but this happens under the command of the proprietary engine management calibration. More personalization and performance can be achieved with the optional CarbonAero carbon-fiber bodywork. The pack includes front splitter, side sills, rear diffuser and rear lip spoiler.

Available are also the 20-inch Hennessey H10 wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Super Sport 2 tires, behind the spokes of which we see Brembo brake package with 15.1-in. front rotors. With this package Mustang gets better downforce, corneing and braking.

Great news is also that Hennessey announced a 2.3-liter EcoBoost-powered Mustang, which is under development. Note that only 500 units of the HPE700 will be produced. The pricing starts at $59,500 USD.
