The Multivan features an elegant exterior design and pays homage to the classic 1985 Transporter T3 with its horizontal lines and full-width grille and headlights. The A-pillars have been refreshed to improve visibility, and the front and rear light signatures contribute to this contemporary look. Furthermore, the front air intakes are now smaller and they also pay tribute to the heritage of the rear air-cooled engines of the 80s.

The vehicle can also be specified with a panoramic glass roof, with LowE laminated safety glass, and numerous more custom features. Furthermore, the Multivan is fitted with LED headlights as a standard feature, but can also be geared with the optional IQ.LIGHT – LED matrix.

  • Volkswagen shares some more info about the upcoming Multivan

2021 Volkswagen MultivanVolkswagen Commercial Vehicles announces new details for the anticipated Multivan. What we know so far is that the latest generation of the van will try to be even more functional than all previous models combined and showcase new ways of enhancing functionality and comfort.

The latest generation of the Multivan will come with tons of interior space – a great amount has been achieved by transforming the gear knob into a switch and thus reducing its size to a minimum, so the gap for climbing through the back becomes even bigger.

Generosity in the interior. We have taken out the gear knob. We’ve even cleared the space in the middle, assigned it to the driver. The new Bulli will be an exciting product. You can look forward to it, The Head of Design at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Albert Kirzinger says.

As a leading manufacturer, VW is constantly reshaping the transportation of goods, services, and people in a contemporary fashion. Brand’s vehicles have helped families and businesses in their everyday tasks. And now, the wait is almost over as Volkswagen is about to reveal one of the most functional and flexible vehicles in its lineup – the Multivan!

  • Volkswagen team reveals more about the new Multivan’s practical interior [VIDEO]

2021 Volkswagen Multivan SketchesThe Multivan remains the master of transformation: it can be the family MPV, a business vehicle, a sports gear transporter, a camper, and tons of other things. The first generation has already received a legendary status. Now, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is ready to present the next family member that would further enhance the flexibility of the vehicle.

However, there are some differences and changes, compared to the previous generations. The seats will be of higher position, there are a total of five rear seats that can be removed, and last, but certainly not least, the vehicle will adopt all the handy functions from T3, T4, T5, T6, and T6.1.

Also, there will be only individual seats – the full-width bench seats on the third row is no more. At the same time, the new individual seats of the second and third rows adopt a lighter and more comfortable construction.

Albert Kirzinger, Head of Design at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, explains in a short video why flexible seats and a middle seat that is both movable and removable are so important for a Multivan: “It is wonderfully practical. And a car is practical if it can be used flexibly. To that end, we’ve created a new seating system. You can easily take seats out to get your sports equipment, mountain bike and/or surfboard into this generously proportioned space. With these seats, everything is possible in the new Multivan.”

  • Volkswagen announces the arrival of new generation of Multivan lineup!

2021 Volkswagen MultivanIn September 1985, VW unveiled a new version of the T3 van: the Multivan. This was quite an unprecedented model because it managed to blend numerous functions in a single machine – this could simultaneously be a passenger car, MPV, and a camper. Smartly conceived like an automotive tool, the van managed to blend the functional DNA of vans with the elegance of a light vehicle.

Now, VW will try to do something similar and bring us a van with the DNA of the original Multivan. Later this year, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will unveil the new Multivan vehicle and will try to breathe a new spark of life in the legendary lineup. The goal for engineers is to present a more sustainable, comfortable, and safer vehicle that would also be the most advanced one in terms of technology.

The VW team has already gained tons of experience in the segment with the Transporter, Caddy, Crafter, and Amarok models, so we expect that the new generation of Multivan will be as flexible and reliable as all other models in the segment. Something more, VWCV is also the lead brand for autonomous driving and the provider of such services, so we expect that the new Multivan will be geared with the latest and greatest tech concepts.
