Morgan is probably releasing the final teaser image of its new sports model that will be revealed in just a week at the Geneva Motor Show. As we can see from the picture the profile of the car is sleek, expresses dynamism and has this typical for Morgan design which we all love. It will be rather a coupe than a roadster. And unfortunately all of this shows nothing new so far.
What is more, judging by the last teaser, it will also carry the same old face with the big grille and round headlights. This isn’t as amusing as it might seem, since we are big fans of Morgan, and we do want to see more.
However, what keeps us still hanging is the video shown a few days ago which displayed the interior and, most importantly, let us hear the roar of this beautiful beast. The mighty cry of the engine appears like Morgan is going turbo and this is what really excites each and every one of us!
What we already know is that the new model is going to be based on the AeroCoupe and Aero Supersports models. Since there is no information regarding the engine, except for the turbo sound, we expect to see a turbocharged version of the 4.8-liter V8 unit, meaning around 400+ hp and 450+ Nm of torque. And what are your expectations?
The legendary Morgan Motor Company does not surprise us with new vehicles very often but when the team of professionals decide to do it, well, they rarely leave people without an opinion. Not too long ago we showed you a teaser image of a new mysterious beauty that is coming to life very soon and now the automaker has released a short video which teases with angry roar and stylish interior.
While the video does not show too much, we are able to hear the mighty cry of the engine. And it sounds like Morgan is going turbo! What we can also see is a glimpse of the sport seats adorned with the brand’s logo. The hand-stitched seats arrive in red leather which really hints at something that will breathe out hotness and attractiveness that is hard to resist.
Going back to the previously shown picture, it suggested that the car is going to be related to the iconic Morgan Aero Coupe and Morgan Aero Supersports models. Since there is no information regarding the powertrain, the new car is expected to be equipped with a V8 engine just like its predecessor. The latter runs on a BMW-sourced 4.8-liter V8 unit which is capable of generating 367 HP and 361 lb-ft of maximum torque.
The vehicle is set to make its first appearance during the 85th International Geneva Motorshow, 2015. While still waiting for the final date, you can check out the 35-second spot and enjoy the powerful sound of the engine.
The British carmaker, Morgan, does not announce very often new launches but when it does so, well, everyone seems to be pretty interested because the rarest things are the most intriguing! This time around, the company will release a new model during 2015 Geneva Motor Show which is going to take place in March.
We haven’t been given any solid information yet. What we have, though, is a single shadowy image which leaves us drooling and leads us into assuming that the new model might be somehow linked to 2012 Morgan Electric Aero Supersports vehicle or 2012 Morgan Aero Coupe. As a refresher, Morgan Aero Coupe has BMW-sourced 4.8-liter V8 engine which carries a power output of 367 HP and 361 lb-ft of torque. Since both of the cars represent an escape from the automaker’s traditional vision, we won’t be surprised if the model we are waiting for is yet another departure.
Design and performance details surrounding the new Morgan classic creation have been pretty vague at this point but the company is promising to reveal more over the next couple of weeks. Being as scarce, secretive and unspecific as possible is a combination that achieves two things: on the one hand it makes you hungrier to find out more, on the other hand it is kind of annoying. For now patience is the answer.
Morgan company is a frequent participant at the Geneva Motor Show. They see it as an important venue for debuts of production cars or flamboyant concepts. For this year, the 2012 Geneva Show is the company’s first major event. They have a wide arrangement of classic looking, boldly designed modern machines on display. Some of the newcomers include the Aero Coupe, Plus 8, the new 3.7l Roadster and the fully electric Plus E.
Two, well known, production Morgan 3 Wheelers and a 75th anniversary 4/4 edition are also present. As a whole Morgan have three main platforms on which they can work on: There’s the Classic Morgan, the 3 Wheeler and the Aero range. All of them encapsulate a radiance of pure motoring history.
Which car on the colorful stand causes most stir is debatable. Some feel overly excited about the 3 Wheelers being on display while others find the aluminum-chassied, V8 Plus 8, most awe inspiring. The dramatic Aero Coupe is also a looker while the all-electric Plus E concept seems to be getting much media attention.
The show continues until the 18th march with a team of Morgan designers, directors, engineers and salespeople present at all times to answer any questions visitors may have.
The new 2012 Morgan Aero Coupe is an advanced supercar, which has been especially designed for long distance driving. The inspiration for this strong and rigid vehicle came from the Morgan GT3 Aero which has already won number of racings. The cockpit of the new Coupe delivers high levels of comfort with a large and secure boot in the rear for luggage. The body of the vehicle has been constructed entirely from aluminium which makes it really light weight. Hence the new Morgan Aero Coupe is constructed with environmental responsibility and a high level of safety. The roof is fixed and combined with the enclosed cabin, gives greater sense of security and silence. A stiff aluminium chassis cradles the 4.8 litre BMW V8 engine and the 6 speed manual or automatic transmission. The individual alloy parts are formed from tooling and hand assembled by skilled craftsmen at the foot of the Malvern hills.
The Morgan Aero Coupe is undoubtedly a car that is designed to bring everlasting class and style. It has proven chemical coating and treatments of the rigid bonded chassis and body. In addition the design of this platform has been consistently enhanced and re-engineered. Therefore, all this lead to the present moment, where the Morgan Motor Company is a class leader in this chassis and car body technology.
The cockpit of the model is inspiring and comforting. The sensation of speed is emphasized by the enticing view down the elegant bonnet. The view to the rear makes the car easy to maneuver and to park. A lot of attention has been put on the details too. For instance, the ash hardwood, which surrounds the cockpit and doors, can be hand polished in a color of customers’ choice. Furthermore, the controls are luxurious to touch and the leather work is stitched with twin needles and combined with suede effect panels for contrast and a dynamic sporty feel. Pressure point reclining seats support the passengers. Reliability is ensured with the BMW V8 and the mounted to it six speed automatic transmission. To go into details, it can be operated in two modes: “Sport” and “Auto”. In the first mode the engine holds its gear to
6500rpm and “blips” the throttle before making a down shift. The power to weight ratio is around 320bhp (235 kW) per tonne and a 0-62mph (0-100 km/h) of 4.5 seconds combined with a top speed of 170mph is effortlessly achievable. At last the new 2012 Morgan Aero Coupe comes with a full specification as standard. Nevertheless, the vehicle can also be further customized to the customers’ individual taste.
