  • Ford announces details about new 2019 Mondeo Hybrid

2019 Ford Mondeo HybridFord enhances the fuel-efficient Mondeo hybrid lineup with the announcement of Mondeo Hybrid Estate for 2019 model year. It will enable customers to bring more cargo with themselves and benefit from more economic and efficient drivetrain system.

Although there’s still no specification list available, Ford promises that the new guy in the lineup will be as agile and confident as a contemporary vehicle should be. What we know so far is that Mondeo Hybrid will be offered in sleek four-door body style with sport-inspired coupe and numerous design features that will set the vehicle apart from older generations and bring it closer to the premium segment.

And as it comes to drivetrain system, the electric motor will support a 2.0-liter revised Atkinson cycle petrol engine via 1.4 kWh lithium-ion, air-cooled and recyclable battery, located behind the rear seats. The drivetrain system will also incorporate a thing called regenerative braking technology that would capture up to 90 per cent of the energy that is normally lost during braking in order to replenish the battery life.

  • Mondeo ST-Line: sporty, aggressive and confident. We like it.

2016 Ford Mondeo ST-LineFord reveals the sporty Mondeo ST-Line at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed: the latest addition to the ST-Line shows neat styling and sporty spirit. Thanks to the aid of Ford Performance designers and engineers, we see a rather beautiful vehicle: all  well-known Ford lines are present, along with some small tweaks and additions. And in terms of the drivetrains, fans will be pleased to know that the Mondeo ST-Line features some neat additions.

Joining the Fiesta ST-Line and Focus ST-Line, the Mondeo comes in five-door and estate body styles and will grant buyers with glossy exterior components, LED daytime running lights, rectangular fog lamps and distinctive 18- or 19-inch alloys in glossy black diffuser-style insert.

    2016 Ford Mondeo ST-Line

We have to admit that the team did a great job with the exterior: what we see is a confidently standing vehicle with vast muscles and sporty appearance. Distinctive and straight lines get the tone for sporty experience, while the front face screams “look out, you are dealing with a badass!”. Or, in other words, we like the design.

In terms of power and performance, the setup tries to meet name’s requirements: the TDCi power unit has an output of 150hp (111kW) and can be paired to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed PowerShift automatic that comes with paddle shifters. Sweet.

The drivetrain technology delivers smooth transition of torque between all of the four wheels and provides better grip and footing in slippery conditions. Also neat feature is the torque delivery between wheels and the speed of doing it: under 20 milliseconds.

So far we do like the sporty Mondeo. But it also has to prove itself worthy through time. What do you think?

  • Eibach Releases a Sportier Ford Mondeo Estate

Eibach Ford Mondeo Estate Front ViewEibach is one of the popular brands among cusotomizers because it produces some of the best products for tuning of your car. This time, they have prepared for us some special Eibach Pro-Kit and Pro-Spacer kit for the highly appreciated Ford Mondeo Estate. The main purpose, as the specialists say, is the owner to “enjoy their ride”.

By the way, the latest Ford Mondeo Estate has been made specifically for European customers. It looks so well with its Aston Martin-like grill and its elegant forms, that it barely needs anything else on it. However, it might need a little ‘touch’ underneath and here is where the major work of the experts at Eibach happened.

First, the chassis has been a focus of the development right from very beginning of their work. Due to the addition of a Pro-Kit Performance Springs, Eibach’s Mondeo makes a strong emphasis on both a sporty handling and full roadworthiness.

Furthermore, the centre of gravity on the front axle has been lowered by 30mm at the front and by 25mm at the rear. This of course contributes for more dynamic and sporty handling, but also for athletic looks.

At last, the tuner added an extra Pro-Spacer wheel spacers made of aluminum. Eibach’s systems 4 and 6 for the Mondeo feature bolts and come in six widths between 20 and 70 mm. They round-out car’s look further.

The latest Ford Mondeo is offered with three diesel engines: 1.6-litre, 2 and 2.0-liter and diesel engines. The petrol variants start with the 1.5-litre EcoBoost and the 1.0-litre EcoBoost. A hybrid variant is also an option.

  • 2015 Ford Mondeo With Innovative Pedestrian Detection Technology

    2015-Ford-Mondeo-t2015-Ford-Mondeo-651

This latest version of the For Mondeo is a very notable car in many different ways. The previous version is a multiple award winner. It is still a common sight on the UK roads. We all have been waiting for this version of the Mondeo. The first concept car prieviewing this car was before 3 years ago.

Here are five things we know for sure about this car: The Ford Mondeo is a rarity in its class. And a lot of its rivals primarily come as saloons: like the Mazda, premium versions of Audi, BMW, etc. There is going to be a saloon version of this, but you will only get that on the hybrid version and on really top-level trims, but most versions are going to be hatchbacks and there is also an Estate model which is going on sale, exactly the same time as the other models.

With its newest technology feature, the” New Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection” Ford sets a new level of technological advances in its segment. The system can recognize people on the road ahead, or possible people capable of crossing the vehicle’s way, which automatically presses the brakes, if the driver does not respond in time.

One thing that we are really used to with the Ford Mondeo cars, is their sheer size and the newest model is not going to be any different. The trunk is particularly large, very deep and very wide. This car gets a much higher level of equipment , compared to the previous models. Even the entry level versions get alloy wheels, dual-zone conditioning . The latest version of the “Sync entertainment system”. The car is equipped with a “air bag seat belts” which blow up like air bags in case of a crash. That is really  quite high level of equipment. This is something you would only get on things like Mercedes-S class.

One thing the Ford has been criticized during the years, is the central console. They are often covered in a lot of buttons and are really quite confusing. But the console in the new Mondeo looks a lot cleaner and easier to use and navigate around. Most things are controlled from the 8-inch touch screen with the Sync system that brings the DAB radio on every model, Bluetooth. And on higher levels, satelite navigation. Many Mondeos have been bought with diesel engines for long trks up and down the motorway

There is going to be 3 diesel engines – 1.6-litre will be the highlight, as far as for emissions,  they will be under 100 g/km. There is also going to be 2, 2.0-liter diesel engines under around 110-120 g/km respectively. On the other side, if you are going to use a petrol engine, there is going to be a variety of selection there as well: To start off with a 1.5-litre EcoBoost and in the future, there is a high chance there will be a 1.0-litre EcoBoost in the car as well.

There is also going to be a hybrid version, which is only going to be in the saloon range but that will give you sub-100 g/km of emissions. There is going to be three trim levels which you can choose from: Style Ztec and Titanium – there is going to be further details on what exactly you can get with that as time goes by. There will be a model at the top of the range called “Vignale” which is going to come with a little more visual upgrades on the outside and inside as well.

  • 2015 Ford Mondeo Based on the CD4 Platform

2015 Ford Mondeo is going to share same platform with several new models from Lincoln. The Mondeo and its US version – the Fusion are based on the global CD4 platform, which underpins the recently revealed Edge SUV, as well as the next S-Max and Galaxy minivans. The first Lincoln to use this architecture will be the MKX luxury crossover expected to hit the market next year.

“The suspension and platform were developed to be capable for Lincoln as well, so it needs to be state of the art.”, commented Darren Palmer, Ford’s assistant global line director for CD platform cars.

In Europe, Ford will deliver the new Mondeo before the end of this year and the car will compete the all-new Volkswagen Passat and the Opel Insignia Facelift. It is interesting, because Volkswagen has already targeted the new Passat upmarket. It is set to go against the luxurious Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3-Series.

The upcoming Mondeo will feature Ford SYNC with MyFord Touch in-car connectivity system. It will enable integration of smartphones and deliver wi-fi capability, while new-generation adaptive LED headlamps enhance visibility and vision.

The manufacturer continues to develop a unique interpretation of modern luxury and design, and this year it was the first auto manufacturer to participate in the world’s leading furniture design show – Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan.

Still, the sales of the outgoing Mondeo fell to around 19,000 units compared to 22,028 registrations for the same period in 2013.

  • 2013 Ford Mondeo – Advanced Active Park Assist and revised Suspension

Ford Motor Company has announced the new 2013 Mondeo. The family saloon will come with a range of innovative technologies including Advanced Active Park Assist – Ford’s first system to support perpendicular parking. The official premiere of the car will be at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

Other very interesting upgrade is the new integral link rear suspension configuration that helps all-new Mondeo to deliver greater refinement and more dynamic performance.

“These features underline the sophisticated quality, technology and driving experience that all-new Mondeo delivers,” commented Barb Samardzich, vice president Product Development.

“The Mondeo has always been at the forefront of Ford’s European passenger car range, but the all-new model is a watershed moment for large car customers and a new benchmark for features in this competitive sector.”, he added.

All-new Mondeo will be available as a five-door and wagon – uniquely developed for Europe – as well as a four-door that will be offered as a segment-first petrol hybrid electric vehicle, combining a specially-developed 2.0-litre petrol engine with a 35kW lithium-ion battery to provide optimised fuel economy and low CO2 emissions.

The engine range includes the 2012 “International Engine of the Year” 1.0-litre EcoBoost. An ECOnetic Technology model will also be available powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine. Both are expected to deliver best-in-class fuel economy. In addition, customers will have the choice of efficient yet powerful turbocharged 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engines, and a 2.0-litre TDCi diesel. For the first time on Mondeo, a diesel all-wheel drive variant will be offered, delivering superior traction, performance and handling.

The interior delivers unprecedented levels of ergonomics and comfort, with superior craftsmanship throughout the driver-focused cockpit. Soft-touch materials, premium finishes and equipment contribute to the most premium Mondeo experience ever.

Mondeo will also offer segment-first SYNC with MyFord Touch an in-car connectivity system that delivers an eight-inch colour touchscreen and the ability to act as a WiFi hotspot for up to five devices.

SYNC with MyFord Touch will enable drivers to keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road while controlling phone and media player functions from connected devices, as well as the vehicle’s climate control, radio and CD-player, and navigation system, using voice commands.

All new Mondeo also delivers the European debut of Ford’s rear inflatable seatbelts. These are designed to reduce head, neck and chest injuries for rear-seat passengers. In the event of an accident the belt rapidly expands to disperse crash forces across a body area five times greater than that achieved by a conventional seatbelt.

  • Ford Mondeo by Loder1899

Loder-1899-Ford-Mondeo-thumbLoder1899 have gotten their hands on the rather flawless Ford Mondeo Mk 4. What could they have possibly done to it, to make it better?

For one thing, they have installed a cupspoiler which is also available in carbon for twice the price. A new rear apron also comes as part of the package with again an all carbon option. We can’t see it but apparently at the back end there’s also a diffuser and some neat pipes sticking out. The exhaust system offered by Loder1899 consists of two stainless steel pipes. Sports catalysts are also an option. Wrapping up the exterior look is the lowering kit which lowers the car’s stance by around 35 mm. Not only do you get more stability out of the corners with that, but the 9×20 Vergito Viginti wheels with 245/30R tires on them will gain more prominence.

Is your Ford Mondeo a diesel? If so, throw in a performance upgrade as the cherry on top. The 2.2-liter TDCI model can gain up to 45 hp with Loder’s ECU remapping know-how. That’s 244 hp of pure power coming at you at 3,500 rpm. Naturally, the torque is up as well. Nearly 500 Nm of it at just 1750 rpm. With that in mind, the top speed is now 228 km/h and the zero to 100 km sprint can be done in 8.0 seconds. No dramatic changes in the consumption though – 6,5 l/100 km.

So that’s about it. The Loder1899 Ford Mondeo is ready to take on the other family and businesspeople in a between-the-traffic-lights thrashing.

  • Superchips Power Upgrade for Ford EcoBoost Range

Superchips-Ford-Focus-EcoBoost-thumbSuperchips – the guys from Buckingham that deal exclusively with ECU remapping – have come up with “Bluefin Plug-in and go” product for the Ford EcoBoost range – think in terms of Ford C-Max, Grand C-Max, Focus, Galaxy, Mondeo and S-Max.

At a glance, “Bluefin” might sound like it’s something you install on your browser but the fact is, this is one potent piece of technology. Well, it is as easy as installing an add-on on your browser, it’s just that your are doing it on your Ford or more specifically the On Board Diagnostic port in it. Just plug in the the Bluefin handset there and follow the instructions on screen. If you do however experience difficulties with the installation process, you can always turn to one of the approximately 80 UK Superchip centers.

Applicable to the 148bhp, 158bhp and 178bhp variants of the turbocharged petrol EcoBoost, this gadget will increase the power output as following:

    • 150PS 1.6-litre Ford Ecoboost C-Max, Grand C-Max and Focus models Superchips’ Bluefin gains 30bhp @ 5341rpm and 51Nm @ 1923rpm
    • 160PS 1.6-litre Ford Ecoboost Galaxy, S-Max and Mondeo models Superchips’ Bluefin gains 34bhp @ 5341rpm and 59Nm @ 1923rpm
    • 182PS 1.6-litre Ford Ecoboost used in Ford Focus Superchips’s Bluefin gains 20bhp @ 3760rpm and 44Nm @ 1923rpm

Put simply: more power, more torque and more fun. More is always better, right? Supposedly one would also spend more time at gas stations but to assure us, Superchips have given their word that the overridden engines retain “high levels of fuel economy and driveability”. If for some reason, you need the old figures back, the process is completely reversible. The “stock” data is stored in the module and is within your grasp.

To get one, you just have to cough up £445 ($702). For that you also get a Customer Service Guarantee and a 12 month/30,000 miles full vehicle warranty.

  • 2013 Ford Mondeo [first pictures]

Ford has released first two pictures of the new 2013 Mondeo. The new family-sized car is quite aggressive. It features new restyled headlights with LED turn indicators, big alloys with low-profile tires, two big exhaust pipes and two-colored rear lights.

If you find any similarities to Ford Fusion, you’ll be completely right, because the new Mondeo looks identical to the American car.

Still, nothing is mentioned about the engine range, but probably the new 1.6 liter EcoBoost engine with 181PS (133 kW) and 233Nm (172 lb-ft) will be available as well as the mighty 2.0 liter EcoBoost  with 240PS (177 kW) and 339Nm (250 lb-ft).

    Stay tuned for more information!
