  • Nissan refreshes its iconic Micra for 2021

    2021 Nissan Micra1

Nissan hits refresh on its iconic Micra, marking the next step in the evolution of the successful city car that first debuted in Europe 38 years ago.

The updated 2021 Micra enhances the customer offering, whilst maintaining the current grade line up of Visia, Acenta, N-Sport and Tekna. This will enable customers to maintain a clear understanding of the Micra line up whilst improving the options available to them.

As we have worked to improve the Micra line up overall, we have particularly focussed on enhancing our premium derivatives. LED headlamps are now standard on both N-Sport and Tekna grades and we are pleased to be able to offer 17-inch diamond cut alloys as standard on Tekna, alongside the Intelligent Around View Monitor. Giving Micra a more elegant and athletic appearance, whilst maintaining its technologically advanced reputation.

With the refreshed line-up for 2021, we have refined what we know people love about Micra. We’ve made it easier for customers to find the ideal grade for them and ensured the new engine keeps our drivers up to date with the latest requirements. By building on its success, and listening to our customers, we’ve arrived at a place where Micra is stronger than ever.

N-Sport: for a premium and sporty look
Starting as a special version, N-Sport has become a popular and central part of the permanent Micra grade line-up. The striking N-Sport is designed from the wheels-up to turn heads. On the exterior, the gloss black front, rear and side finishers and black mirror caps perfectly complement the 17-inch black perso alloy wheels. On the N-Sport, fog lamps and headlamps come in full LED as standard.

The N-Sport’s refined aesthetic is carried through to the interior, putting the driver and passenger comfort at the very heart of the design. The seats are made with Alcantara® inserts and the matching dashboard gives a high-quality finish. The seats are ergonomically designed to provide superior support and reduce driver fatigue for those longer journeys.

    Tekna: for advanced driving technology
The Tekna is packed with in-car entertainment technology and advanced driving features which showcase Nissan Intelligent Mobility – Nissan’s vision for a more exciting and connected future through technological innovation.

Nissan’s popular Intelligent Around View Monitor camera system, helping drivers negotiate difficult parking scenarios safely and easily, is available with moving object detection and Blind Spot Warning; exclusive to the Tekna grade, it comes installed as standard.

For audiophiles, the Tekna also comes with Bose Personal audio, offering immersive, high-quality sound for all passengers and the Ultra Nearfield speakers built into the driver’s headrest offer the ultimate sound experience for the driver.

The NissanConnect infotainment system with TomTom navigation is available as an option on Acenta and N-Sport and is standard on Tekna.

Apple CarPlay with Siri voice recognition and Android Auto with Google Assistant are available as standard from Acenta with a host of additional in-car entertainment features.

Enhanced Euro 6d dynamic and efficient engine
Micra’s enhanced 1.0-litre turbocharged engine offers both a dynamic and efficient driving experience. The unit is compliant with the Euro 6d emissions standards, yielding improved fuel-efficiency and reduced emissions. Enhanced torque delivery curve offers greater driving performance with fewer gear changes, perfect for navigating cities and enabling a smoother, more responsive and more enjoyable drive.

    Advanced safety technology
From Visia grade upwards, Micra is equipped with essential safety technologies, including; Hill Start Assist; Intelligent Ride Control; and Intelligent Trace Control for improved handling in difficult conditions.

Further advanced technologies are offered as standard in the Safety Pack. This includes; High Beam Assist; Intelligent Lane Intervention; Traffic Sign Recognition and Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Recognition.

Designed to high specifications for the European market, the Nissan Micra is a testament to manufacturing and sales success. Since its launch in 2017, more than 230,000 Micra have been sold across 34 European countries.

The model is the first Nissan vehicle to be built in a Renault plant highlighting the synergies across the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance.

The 2021 Micra goes on sale in November 2020, starting from £13,995.

  • 2017 Micra Gen5: agile and appealing. We like it!

2017 Nissan Micra Gen5With intention to become Europe’s favorite /or one of its favorite/ hatchbacks, Migra Gen5 will try to do it with confidence, style and convenience. So, let’s dive in vehicle’s features and find out why Nissan team is so confident about the success of this one.

    Exteriors styling

    2017 Nissan Micra Gen5

Sharp lines, neat curves, some “plot twists” here and there and incredibly ugly front end. This is our first impression after seeing this one. We have to admit that the styling language is expressive and bold, but this face is just… not in place. Features eye-catching V-motion grille, sharp-edged lines, boomerang-shaped lights and floating roof. Sexy. If you don’t look it from the front.

There are a total of 10 body colors, including the new Energy Orange. Of course, Nissan has included numerous more customizable tweaks: there are a total of 125 different goodies to bend to your style. Sweet.

    Interior tweaks

    2017 Nissan Micra Gen5

Nissan team has paid much attention to the interior comfort and convenience features. The design team has lowered the driving position and added some more seat adjustments. Also, the fully adjustable steering wheel and the special positioning of the pedals contribute to that overall great feeling of comfort and relaxation while driving.

    Technologies and goodies

Micra Gen5 will feature some technologies that are usually not present in the whole B-segment. These include Lane Departure Prevention, Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Recognition, Intelligent Around View Monitor, Traffic Sign Recognition, High Beam Assist and Blind Spot Warning systems. Cool.

SEE ALSO: 2017 Sentra ST Turbo: modest in features, unappealing in design

Driver and passengers will be pleased to know that there is a premium six-speaker Bose audio system, a special 7-inch color display that provides satellite navigation, mobile phone incorporation and of course, tons of entertainment features.

    Drivetrain system

    2017 Nissan Micra Gen5

In terms of convenience there are Active Ride Control and Active Trace Control that will look after your ride and will take care for smooth and pleasurable ride. However, the engine system is not that impressive: there is a choice between a 0.9-liter turbocharged three-cylinder petrol unit and a 1.5-liter diesel unit, both offering the aid of 90 horses (67kW).

Much attention has been paid to reducing noise in the cabin. Improvements include outstanding noise insulation and optimisation of the car’s aerodynamic performance. Exceptional aero efficiency has been achieved thanks to the combined roof and side spoiler. As a result, the new Micra has achieved a Cd of 0.29 – top level for a hatchback. And at some point in the future, there will be available and a bit more agile 73hp 1.0-liter power unit.

In fact, we like the vehicle. It looks incredible, incorporates numerous handy technologies and systems and we presume that many people will be happy with the drivetrain setup. However, I still recommend you not looking the car from the front.

  • Is Nissan Sway Concept as Good as the Qashqai?

During the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, Nissan is going to introduce its Sway concept vehicle which is the next addition to the other automobiles in the small segment. It is envisioned as a model which has the right place next to cars such as Volkswagen Polo or Ford Fiesta. Nissan Sway concept is said to be a representation of what the future models of the small Nissan family might look like. The implementation of a striking new design language will help the company craft out an exemplary of compactness and comfort which come together and serve to offer exclusive driving experience.

Observing the revealed teaser image, we do suspect that the next gen Micra is not going to inherit the same design as its predecessor that received a facelift in 2013. Instead, the real and proper version will adopt plainer, simpler, less dramatic and more convenience-oriented structure which still will be able to exhibit plenty of improvements.

Finally, designed for Europe, the new small hatchback will convey pretty much the same “radical thinking and quality standards” which were possessed by Qashqai and Juke. And if it absorbs those quality characteristics in the same way, Nissan Sway is going to be just as successful as the previously mentioned models.

There aren’t any other details available so far but there is more to come soon so stay around!

  • Gold Body Kit Micra is called Nissan March Rio 2016 Edition in Brazil

Nissan-March-Rio-2016-Edition-THUMBNissan will roll out the March Rio 2016 Edition during the upcoming Sao Paulo Motor Show later this week. The car celebrates the 2016 Olympics, since the Japanese company is one of the main sponsors of the games. Although we definitely find charming this golden version of the Micra, Nissan said that there are no plans to put the car into production.

Yes, you have read it right; Nissan March Rio 2016 Edition is a Micra with a Gold Body Kit. The car features white and gold exterior paint scheme as well as golden accents on the lower section of the bumpers, side skirts, mirrors, roof spoiler and alloy wheels. The back shows how the black painted roof is continued by a very nice boot lid spoiler.

The vehicle gets the engine of the locally produced March, which is the 16V 1.6-liter FlexFuel unit that works on either gasoline or ethanol. The powerplant generates 111 horsepower (83 kW), which is simply enough for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint to be covered in 9.5 seconds.

It is here where athletes like Usain Bolt would be impressed, but if we compare the little car with a performance one, then we shouldn’t be impressed at all. The top speed of the model is positioned at 119 mph (191 km/h).

Despite the performance figures, we definitely fin this Nissan vehicle very appealing. So we have to thank to the newly established Nissan Design America Rio studio, where it was developed.

The brand name Venucia is very special and its name is derived from the ancient Roman goddess “Venus”. Her functions encompassed love, beauty, fertility and prosperity. The five stars of the brand logo represent company’s five promises. They are the following: respect to customers, creation of value, always doing the best, achieving world-class quality and constantly seeking the dream.
