  • Exclusive New Images Of VUHL 05 Released [TEASER]

Vuhl-05-teaser-651-THUMBVUHL 05 – the Road-Legal Lightweight Supercar was teased back in March and now it is time to see something more of it. Ahead of its official debut at Goodwood Festval of Speed, the brand has released two new images of the upcoming model.

One of them is showing that the car is currently being tested at a secret location. In addition, VŪHL Automotive has confirmed that it has entered into a technical collaboration with Michelin. The latter will support the new sports car with set of new tyres.

Furthermore, the supercar embodies the optimal automotive technology from around the world. For instance, the vehicle’s handling has been optimised in the UK, it has been tested and developed in the U.S. and Europe, car bodies will be fabricated in Canada with final assembly conducted by the advanced manufacturing concern in Mexico City.

And if you wonder how VUHL is pronounced, well it stands for “vool” which in turn stands for Vehicles of Ultra High-performance and Lightweight. The company is a child of brothers Iker and Guillermo Echeverria, who have a Mexico City-based design company.

Unfortunately, we will have to wait until official debut for more information about the vehicle, because no additional information has been disclosed so far. However, you can enjoy the latest two teaser images of the car, showing a glimpse of its powerful exterior stance.

  • Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tyres – 255/35 and 315/35 ZR20

Michelin has created the new Pilot Super Sport tyres specially for the brand new F12berlinetta, which is the most powerful Ferrari ever. The new tyres are the world’s fastest series-produced tyre on the track. The Italian manufacturer, after its previous successful collaborations related to the development of the tyres for the 599 GTO and the FF, has once more chosen Michelin among the original equipment suppliers for the new F12berlinetta,

The new Ferrari F12berlinetta has a naturally aspirated 65-degree 6.3 liter V12 – 740PS (544 kW) and 690Nm (509 lb-ft). To handle all that power, a number of technologies have been developed by Michelin’s Research and Development Center.

    Here are some of them:

First is the Twaron Belt. Esentially, it is a high-density fibre which gives the Michelin Pilot Super Sport superior high-speed stability. A key feature of Twaron is that it is very strong, yet light; Twaron is five times stronger than steel of an equivalent weight.

The second is a variable contact patch 2.02 that changes its shape when cornering. That’s why the amount of rubber in contact with the road remains the same.

Last is the Tri-Compound and Bi-compound tread. Used in endurance racing, this innovation uses different rubber compounds on the left and right sides of the tread. On the outside, a unique elastomer specifically developed for racing tyres ensures exceptional endurance. On the inside, a latest-generation, high-grip elastomer enables the tyre (on wet surfaces) to break through the water’s surface and adhere to the road.

The new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres come in two sizes: 255/35 ZR 20 for the front wheels and 315/35 ZR 20 for the rear axle.

  • G-Power BMW M5

G-power-BMW-M5-thumbThe latest M5 (F10) may be a downsized successor of its previous generation but it still packs a punch, and that is an understatement. It is actually more powerful with less cylinders and less drama. The people from G-Power respect that but, because tuning is what they do, they have added more power to the M performance monster.

What they have done to the “standard” 4.4l V8 engine is to replace the turbo with an ASA supercharging turbine and tune the engine management system in a way so that the power is now up to 640 hp instead of 560 hp and torque has gone from 680 Nm to 777. That setup is not malignant in any way to the engine, say G-Power. That translates into a time of 3.9 seconds for the 100 km/h sprint. For 11,9 the BMW will get to 200 km/h.

Further improvements focus on the acoustics – a G-Power sports rear muffler with 4 x 100 mm tailpipes gives the BMW M5 a deep, throaty sound partly due to the “DEEPTONE” technology patented by the company.

The whole car sits on four 21 inch G-Power Silverstone RS forged wheels, wrapped in Michelin tires. The rear tires are wide enough land a plane on them – 305/25 ZR 21. The front pair is equally impressive with a sizes of 265/30 ZR 21. A big plus for the wheels is the light alloy from which they are made that does not compromise stability. Add that to a highly adjustable G-Power coil-over suspension GM5-RS with numerous settings and you get the perfect street/road car. The thing is, even as a standard car, the M is bound to fade its own brakes overtime. That is why, as a roundup, we have a G-Power Braking System complete with 396 mm brake discs, six-piston calipers. Heat is dissipated more efficiently and the stopping force is stronger than usual because of the larger pads and metal-coated brake lines. And because the system is mainly ceramic, it also saves weight. (up to 50% percent lighter than the standard braking kit)
