Mercedes Team Releases Details for the 2017 S-Class Cabrio!

Mercedes has finally announced details for the new S-Class Cabrio. The whole lineup can be purchased with three petrol units that are indeed the 4.6-liter V8 with 455hp (334kW), the Mercedes-AMG S 63 5.5-liter V8 twin-turbocharged unit with 585hp (430kW) and the flagship, S 65, a 6.0-liter V12 twin-turbo beast, capable of producing a total of 630hp (463kW).

All this means that the overall performance rates are quite astonishing: the average 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint ends in about 4 seconds and the top speed of the vehicles varies between 279km/h (155mph) and 334km/h (186mph). Impressive, right?

Similar to its S-Class Coupe brothers, the S-Class Cabriolet units will also offer extended list of standard features. For example, the S 500 AMG includes AMG body-styling, 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with Intelligent Lightning System and Adaptive High Beam Assist Plus system, AIRMATIC air suspension with variable damping control, satellite navigation with COMAND Online system, AIRSCARF neck-level heating, comfortable seats with leather upholstery and many more.

Also, the Driving Assistance pack (standard feature for the S 63 and S 65) includes a 360 degree camera, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Brake Assist System, DISTRONIC PLUS and PRE-SAFE PLUS.

There is also an optional AMG Exterior Carbon Fiber pack that includes carbon fiver (you don’t say!) finish to the AMG front apron, exterior mirror housing and side sill panels.

Prices for the top-down beauties start from $155,500 USD.

2017 S-Class Cabriolet: Superiority Unleashed

The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet can be already ordered! In fact, it will be to dealers early in April 2016, but the most important thing is present: you can choose your own S-Class Cabrio now! Along with its stylish and distinctive design, this sweetie is special with one more thing. It is the sixth variant of the current S-Class lineup is the first S-Class vehicle to offer a open-top luxury driving experience since 1971.

Exterior and Interior design

In terms of style, Mercedes vehicles keep dominating the automobile world and the new S-Class comes with numerous AMG components that further enhance the sexy looks of the vehicle. Proudly demonstrating front and rear restyled aprons and new side skirts with special inserts, the vehicle keeps up the sporty spirit with that distinctive radiator grille design with chrome accent and the 21-inch 5-spoke AMG light alloys in titanium grey.

The vehicle is also offered with special Exclusive Package that adds exclusive Nappa leather upholstery, Nappa leather instrument panel and panels and centre armrest, covered in the same exclusive leather. And along with the leather, there are numerous diamond design elements, along with stylish metal spots.

Drivetrain system

In terms of performance, Mercedes-Benz knows how it’s done. The V8 unit that is geared in the S500 Cabriolet provides an output of 455hp (335kW) and maximum torque of 700Nm at 1,800 rpm. And with NEDC consumption the cabriolet consumes 8.5 liters per 100 kilometers and emits 199g/km of CO2 emissions.

On the other hand, the powerful S 63 4MATIC comes with the twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 power unit that offers 585hp (430kW) and the titanic 900 Nm of maximum torque. This helps the vehicle to accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

Additional equipment

The S-Class Cabriolet comes with extended list of standard features: COMAND Online, Intelligent THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control, electrically adjustable front seats with Memory Pack, LED Intelligent Light System and numerous more.

Additional optional gadgets include automatic draft shield systemAIRCAP that reduces the turbolence in the interior, AIRSCARF neck-level heating system and numerous more.

AMG Strikes Again: Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet is Here!

Mercedes-AMG S 65 Cabriolet comes with style, passion an aggression. The sexy cabrio offers stunning amount of power and enhanced performance capabilities, along with beautiful exterior design with elegant, yet aggressive lines. The massive and powerful stance is further boosted, thanks to the unique blend of Mercedes-Benz and AMG union. So, let’s see what this beauty has to offer.

Design

The visually stunning vehicle fascinates with numerous known and numerous unknown to this moment features. As the high-sheen chrome at the front, sides an rear, large central Mercedes star, the “twin blade” radiator grille and numerous more.

At the sides the vehicle catches the eye with the V12 BITURBO lettering on the wings, while the ceramic high-sheen multi-spoke forged wheels contribute to that sporty, yet beautiful affair. At the same time the 8.5 J x 20 with size 255/40 ZR 20 tires at the front, and 9.5 J x 20 with tire size 285/35 ZR 20 at the rear wheels emphasize the athletic and ready-for-high-doses-of-adrenaline appearance.

The rear also has a lot to demonstrate. The AMG sport exhaust system and its two chromed twin pipes in V12 style are chrome-plated and perfectly integrate with vehicle’s appearance, while the distinctive diffuser inserts and other glossy elements make somehow a distinctive visual contrast: they enhance the A-wings design and contributes to the sporty affair.

And the most interesting part, the foldable top also has a lot to demonstrate. First of all, in closed position the multi-layered soft top has that sweet design and perfectly matches the silhouette of the vehicle. Available in black, dark blue, beige and dark red, it can be electro-hydraulically opened and closed while on the more up to 50 km/h. It folds and unfolds for the good 17 seconds and is especially designed to save luggage space.

Drivetrain system

The beauty is geared with special power unit that produces a total of 630 hp (463 kW) and maximum torque of 1000 (one thousand!) Nm. via its 12 cylinders and electronically fine-tuned engine. It is paired to a special AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission that distributes power to the rear axle. It is a special 7-speed automatic engineering wonder that offers a choice of three individual modes: Controlled Efficiency, Sport and Manual. This combination allows the vehicle to go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds and with this impressive start it can chase the electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (138mph).

Furthermore, the special AMG 6.0-liter V12 biturbo engine offers biturbocharging, aluminum crankcase, forged crankshaft in high-grade alloy steel, multi-spark ignition with 12 twin-spark ignition units, air-to-water intercooler with low temperature circuit and alternator management.

Powerful, stylish and capable of conquering every heart. This is what I call a good Mercedes-AMG vehicle.
