In Spanish Borasca means storm and thunderstorm, and this was the name given by INDEN Design to their latest projcet. They have transformed the iconic Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster model.
The designers confirm that it was tough to modify something that already has an inherent perfection. Fot this reason a good number of minor but highly effective „touches“ has been done on the sophisticated outer shell of this Mercedes-Benz.
First of all, in order to imrpve the aerodynamics of the vehicke, INDEN Design integrated a new bumper bar at the front in addition to the individual front spoiler lip. The latter was made entirely of high-grade carbon fiber tissue as well as the new engine hood.
When obsereved from the side, the SLS Borrasca stands out with its new mud guard with inserts of carbon fibers and black fins. Additionally, there were also added completely new side skirts with rear air shaft. At the rear the specialists have applied carbon fiber in the new rear apron which features a diffuser.
Furthermore, there is also visible a new stainless steel sports exhaust system with flap control. However, it is modified to have the original AMG end-pipes. In terms of power, the SLS AMG Roadster now generates 635 hp (467 kW).
The power is realized on the road via a set of classical light alloy rims with ten arched double spokes. In combination with a lowering of circa 15 mm, the wheel set fills the wheel houses of the SLS perfectly well in the format 10.5×21 and 11.5×21 inches for the front and rear respectively. The wheels are matched with Continental tires in the formats 265/30/21 and 295/25/21.
Mcchip-Dkr Mercedes-Benz SLS 63 AMG MC700 is undisputed synonym for luxurious sportiness, not only because of its inherited qualities, but also because it was additionally enhanced and now can generate 706 horsepower (520 kw).
The specialist from Mcchip-Dkr has achieved this incredible number. The originally installed AMG-internal M 159 high-rev V8-engine of the SLS 63 AMG produced 571 hp (420 kW) and had a maximum torque of 650 Nm (480 lb-ft). However, the power-upgrade here consisting of a supercharger kit-program „Stage 2“ included an in-house description “MC700”, was one of the elements that changed those numbers.
But first of all, the “Stage 1” of the upgrade was operated by means of mechanically driven compressor and it came along in addition to a pure compressor-kit. Then, the Stage 3-Software-Upgrade came with a high-end-exhaust system together with a valve control system. The latter added more efficiency to the qualities of the Mercedes-Benz.
The end result of those three stages is 680 hp (500 kW) and 770 Nm (568 lb-ft) of maximum torque. However, this wasn’t the end of the improvement of this supersports car. Through sports catalytic converters and further aggravated software named Stage 4, the 706 hp (520 kW) were eventually possible. The optimal torque here is 793 Nm (585 lb-ft).
Furthermore, the KW DDC- or HLS 4-sports chassis raised SLS AMG on both axles up to standard level. Additionally to this a complete matt/grey foliation was added and it was perfectly accentuated by red applications.
Do you remember that couple of days before Christmas the individualization tuning specialist from Vilner surprised us with a gift in the form of two teaser pictures revealing a glimpse of their latest endeavours? If you do than you will probably be happy to know that they have finally unveiled their work on the SLS AMG. And again, the readers of automobilesreview.com are the first to see it!
Vilner Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is something everyone wants to have in their garage. And since the interior tuning professionals from Vilner have given it their magical touch, this means that the SLS seems even more attractive.
The exterior looks like it wears a make-up and it definitely has visual characteristics that make it more beautiful than ever. In details, the bumper below the front headlights is painted in black and in this way it makes the perfect contrast to the overall light-silver exterior of this Mercedes-Benz.
In addition, the same contrast is ensured by the central strip around the emblem, which in its back part is also colored in black. The same styling has been chosen for the middle part of the bumper. What is more – even all of the grills are black. Here the substance utilized for their re-coloring is Black Piano Varnish.
And to make the appearance of the SLS look even more aggressive, the designers have added eyebrows to the front headlights. The latter were specifically designed by Vilner and on their top there is a light relief, which is a continuation of the inner part of the headlights.
No matter how great the exterior looks, the inner part of the vehicle is where the true power of the leather interior specialist from Vilner lies. The splendid cabin of the SLS underwent a lot of work done with attention and precision to the details. Although the AMG designers have done a great job here, there were some elements that needed transformation.
Straight to the details: the coupe and the boot are both wrapped in red leather and Alcantara. They have also received a big embroidered AMG emblem which resembles the one on the metal plate under the front hood.
The steering-wheel is also modified and precisely wrapped with black leather. The airbag and the box of the dashboard are also customized in black Alcantara. The “pocket” between the two seats has a brand new design and it now looks more stylish.
How do you think the perfect present for Christmas would look like? I personally would love to have a white Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG wrapped with a big red band – not under my Christmas tree but in front of my house. In addition it has to be a very special kind of Mercedes-Benz, and this means that it has to be unique and full of enhancements.
For this reason, I would imagine that it is tuned by Vilner, which I am sure will make the best and most beautiful interior design! Just try to think about it in an exhilarating red color which includes all the smallest details that the tuners will make. My dream sounds very exciting, doesn’t it?
Although I won’t be the lucky one to drive this exceptional beauty, there is a particular person who has the same taste as I do. And this fact is proved by the latest teaser images that Vilner has released. They clearly show that the professionals are currently working on an SLS AMG model with white exterior and red interior. Form the pictures we can also judge that the car will include brand new headlights and bumper.
All we are left to do is to wait for the car to come out of the dark and show itself in its true glory. And if you are eager to know what’s going on in Vilner’s garage, you simply have to follow them on their official Facebook page where you will be daily updated.
A video worth watching is this of the super-hot 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series, which has just been revealed. The super sports car gull-wing model has an outstanding design and delivers the ultimate driving experience.
In this video on can see how actually this new Mercedes-Benz reaches its 315 km/h top speed, all happening in desert scenery. The powerful SLS AMG Black Series as mentioned already today is an exquisite model, which produces 631 horsepower (464 kW) and has a maximum torque of 635 Nm (470 lb-ft).
Then it is not a surprise for anyone to hear that its acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is estimated of only 3.6 second (however this number isn’t enough to beat the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster which needs only 3 seconds for the same sprint).
Another highlight in the model is the outstanding driving dynamics and the uncompromised lightweight construction. The SLS weighs only 1550 kilograms which contributes to great aerodynamics.
The unique Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT can now be seen at dealerships is disguise of both Coupé and Roadster variants. With the highly performance-oriented GT variant, the range has now grown up to five models.
This Mercedes conveys more dynamism and athleticism. It is fitted as standard with AMG forged wheels painted in matt black with a high-sheen finish, darkened headlamps and tail lights as well as red-painted brake calipers.
The wing-shaped cross fins and the star recess in the radiator grille, the exterior mirrors and the fins on the bonnet and wings are retained in high-gloss black. The AMG logo on the right of the boot lid also features the additional letters “GT”.
The more important information here however is in terms of power. In details, the maximum output for the 6.3-litre V8 front-mid engine is 435 kW (591 hp) at 6800 rpm, while the maximum torque is 650 Nm at 4750 rpm. This means that there will be no problem for the super sports car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, and to reach a speed of 200 km/h in 11.2 seconds. The top speed here is 320 km/h (electronically limited).
The engine is mated to the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission located on the rear axle. In addition, the latter is more direct and spontaneous than ever. The automatic double-declutching function when shifting down is also more pronounced.
The new AMG Ride Control Performance suspension is fitted with variable, electronically controlled damping. It includes stiffer spring/damper tuning and dispenses with “Comfort” mode. “Sport” mode is recommended as the optimum setting for undulating road surfaces and routes requiring increased suspension travel. On the other hand the “Sport plus” mode delivers higher damping forces and includes specific control algorithms which have been adjusted for a sporty driving style on routes with a level road surface.
The interior here is decisively sporty as well. For example, the sports seats have embossed badges on their head restraints and centre sections finished in Alcantara. The same mterial can also be found on the door centre panels.
Furthermore, the black interior appointments are combined with red seat belts. In fact, all of the contrasting stitching on the AMG sports seats, the centre console and the door panel lining is retained in red too. Even the floor mats feature red edging.
A highlight among the optional extras is the Bang & Olufsen BeoSound system. The surround sound system delivers one-of-a-kind music experience. This is due to the amplifier, which provides a 1000-watt output, the 11 loudspeakers, and the precise distribution of the music signals.
The starting price of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT is 204,680 euros for the coupe and 213,010 euros for the roadster.
The new Inden Design Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG shows great style and powerful stance. However, it tells a story not not only about that. It serves the purpose to be „co-acting“ star next to photo model Katja Runiello in her latest photoshoot.
The beautiful model, dancer and actor is a well known personality, since her appearance in the RTL television series “The Bachelor”. SLS AMG’s popularity can be described simply by two words: „living legend“.
But what has Inden Design done to improve this splendind car. First, they have implanted 21-inch light metal rims. Rim stars were painted in high-gloss black as well as gloss-lathed beddings.

The 10.5 and 11.5-inch wide single part product were combined with Continental Sport Contact high-performance tires of the dimensions 265/30R21 for the front and 295/25R21 for the rear.
Inden Design tuned the serially produced coilover kit of the Mercedes-Benz, so that it now cowers more flatly on the surface.
More importantly, the 6.2 liter V8 engine shows great dynamic portfolio from the gentle rumbling in Piano up until the thunderous roaring of the Fortissimo. This is achieved thanks to the serially produced exhaust system in high-grade steel in non-ostentatious visual appearance with electronic valve control.
However, Inden Design even increased the maximum performance of the high-revolving eight-cylinder powerhouse by further maximizing the engine software from 571 hp (420 kW) in standard production to the present 623 horsepower (458 kW).
The pictures below, are creation of the photographer Olaf Pitzer from Nauroth. Katja’s feminine dress was designed by the Haute Couture designer Elvira Kirsch. And the perfect make-up was made by the stylist Katharina Freitag.

The official market launch of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT is scheduled for October this year and the starting price is 204,680 Euros.
Mercedes-AMG is going to include in the 2012 Formula 1 season Official F1™ Safety Car and the Official F1™ Medical Car based on SLS AMG and C 63 AMG Estate, respectively, thus ensurring maximum safety in extreme conditions. The gullwing model with its one-of-a-kind roof lights and distinctive FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) and F1 logos on its aluminium body, has been official Safety Car for Formula 1 for two years already. The SLS AMG is sent out on the track, as soon as the Race Control considers that the safe progress of the race may be impeded. In fact, FIA has entrusted the task of driving the Safety Car to the racer Bernd Mayländer since 2000. In addition, the SLS AMG Official F1™ Safety Car is also on call throughout the race weekend accompanying race series, such as the GP2 and GP3 Series and the Porsche Supercup. In details, during the last years Formula 1, the SLS AMG Official F1™ Safety Car was deployed twelve times. In addition, at the Monaco Grand Prix there were two Safety Car phases, while the Grands Prix in Belgium, Italy, Singapore, Japan and Korea each had just one Safety Car phase. But there was no other year like 2010, when the Safety Car was deployed 21 times, a figure which is an absolute record.
What makes the SLS AMG the perect Safety Car? First, it is low kerb weight, has low centre of gravity and balanced weight distribution, which in addition both are combined with a powerful AMG V8 engine and dual clutch transmission in a transaxle arrangement. Furthermore, the engine, power train, suspension and braking system of the Safety Car are the same as those found in the standard production SLS AMG, with the exception of the newly developed exhaust, which was specifically designed to provide even more emotionally-charged sound experience. In detials, the AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine achieves a peak output of 420 kW (571 hp) at 6800 rpm and a maximum torque of 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) at 4750 rpm. This enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. In addition, the outstanding SLS AMG’s driving dynamics deliver great performance thanks to the aluminium spaceframe body (it weighs only 1620 kg). The low center of gravity has been achieved thank to the dry-sump lubrication system. The installed position of the engine behind the front axle, and the transaxle arrangement of the transmission on the rear axle, have a positive effect on the weight distribution, which is 47/53 percent (front/rear). The AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission with dual-clutch technology enables short shifting times. At the same time the integrated mechanical multi-disc differential lock, together with the 3-stage ESP® deliver nothing else but outstanding traction. The suspension of the AMG is with aluminium double-wishbone arrangement, which is usually found in racing cars. In fact, this technology offers a number of benefits like high cornering limits, precise turn-in ability, first-class agility and low mass inertia during fast changes in direction. Additionally, the braking distances are minimised and resistance to fading is maximised due to the high-performance AMG ceramic composite braking system. The SLS AMG also features weight-optimised 10-spoke forged wheels fitted with size 265/35 R 19 (front) and 295/30 R 20 (rear) tyres.
2012 Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Official F1 Safety Car
What makes the Official F1™ Safety Car different from a standart production SLS AMG is the roof light bar. It boasts an aerodynamically efficient profile and sits on a carbon-fibre hood. All of the bar’s light functions are handled by LEDs; they offer a fast response time and low power consumption. In particular, the two centrally positioned green lights on the front and rear are lit up when the gullwing model joins the field at the start of a Safety Car phase. Permanent green is the signal for all Formula 1 drivers to overtake the Safety Car. On the other hand, the orange light are switched on, as soon as the Safety Car has positioned itself in front of all of the Formula 1 racing cars. The flashing orange lights on the outer ends of the bar indicate that no overtaking whatsoever is allowed. In additiom the roof light bar also incorporates a camera, and a second one is located next to the rear number plate, which allows the driver and co-driver to monitor the Formula 1 cars behind via a screen in the cockpit. There is also special number plate on the rear and 700 green LEDs. They provide additional safety in darkness or wet weather. Another important feature is the stroboscopic lights in the headlamps and tail lights, which are activated permanently and provide a signalling function.
How about the interior of the Safety Car? Well, it is not much different from a standard production model: it includes sport bucket seats with black leather upholstery. On the right side of the AMG DRIVE UNIT there are four coloured buttons which are used for controlling the various light functions and the signal horn. The centre console is also finished in carbon-fibre. The steering wheel in wrapped leather/Alcantara and has a specially contoured grip area, a high-grade metal insert and a 370 mm-diameter rim with a flattened lower section. The seven gears of the dual-clutch transmission are changed using the two high-grade metal shift paddles. Furthermore, two central monitors in the cockpit are used to monitor the progress of the race.
2012 Mercedes Benz C63 AMG Estate Official F1 Medical Car
To accompany the SLS AMG Official F1™ Safety Car in the 2012 season, Mercedes-AMG has provided the Official F1™ Medical Car, which will be responsible for ensuring a rapid emergency response if an event of accident occurs. The C 63 AMG Estate is perfectly equipped and provides outstanding driving dynamics: it includes the AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine with the AMG Performance package, which produces 358 kW (487 hp). In addition, the forged pistons, connecting rods and lightweight crankshaft have been adopted from the drive system of the gullwing model. The lower inertia of the components, allows the naturally aspirated eight-cylinder engine to rev freely and respond with even more agility. What makes the car different from a standart C63 AMG, is the variable intake manifold, which lurks beneath the bonnet in a titanium grey paint finish. It helps to accelerate the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.4 seconds. The engine is mated to the standard AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission, with wet start-up clutch, four driving modes, a double-declutch and a RACE START function. The excellent driving dynamics are also ensured by the adjustable coil-over suspension. The car sits on the AMG light-alloy wheels, painted in matt black with high-sheen rims and fitted with size 235/35 R 19 (front) and 255/30 R 19 (rear) tyres. The vehicle also has a differential lock and the 3-stage ESP®. Maximum durability is provided by the optimised coolant, engine oil, transmission fluid and power steering fluid cooling. Visually, the Medical Car resembles the Safety Car, and the main reason for this are the light bar on the roof, the FIA and F1‑logos, the stroboscopic LED lights at the front and rear, and the rear number plate illuminated with LEDs and with “Medical Car” lettering. Furthermore, four AMG sports bucket seats with six-point seat belts, two monitors integrated into the centre console for monitoring the race and a radio set for communicating with Race Control distinguish the interior of the Official F1™ Medical Car from that of the standard production C 63 AMG Estate. Of course, there is plenty of space for all of the emergency equipment.
