Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show

Mercedes-Benz is currently exhibiting their most expensive model – the S65 AMG Coupe at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show. The car is designed to be the most luxurious coupe on the market and one of the fastest as well.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe is powered by an updated 6.0 liter V12 bi-turbo engine – 630HP (463 kW) and 1,000Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) – electronically limited. The engine is connected to a 7G-Tronic 7-speed automatic transmission. The S65 AMG is able to return 23.7 mpg UK – 11.9 liters / 100 km with corresponding CO2 emissions of 279 g/km.

Some of the highlights include 20” multi-spoke lightweight alloy wheels fitted with 285/35 R20 tires. Behind them, there is a high-performance ceramic composite braking system which is 20 % lighter than the standard braking kit and comes with 420 mm discs and specially painted brake calipers.

The 2^nd-biggest Mercedes-Benz booth on an auto show after the International Motor Show in Frankfurt accommodates 33 models, including 10 AMG vehicles and different variants of the A-, B-, C-, CLA-, GLA-, GLK-, E-, CLS-, SLK- and S-Class, as well as the new V-Class.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe – UK Price £183,065

Mercedes-Benz UK is now offering the all-new 2014 S-Class Coupe in the United Kingdom. The luxurious coupe is priced from £96,565 OTR for the entry-level S500 model and goes up to whopping £183,065 for the impressive S65 AMG. The S 500 Coupe AMG Line will join the model range in the beginning of the next year with a price tag of £96,565 OTR.

The standard equipment is abundant – Active Parking Assist with a reversing camera, an expansive panoramic roof, an ultra-sharp TFT 12.3” display, the clever Magic Vision Control system, COMAND Online and a choice of nine metallic paint options.

The Premium Package ads 20” alloy wheels, illuminated door sills, the Seat Comfort Pack, Keyless-Go Package, Burmester sound system, Climatised Seats to keep you cool or warm, depending on the weather, a 360 camera and Air Balance – a system through which air is passed to remove pollutants and fragrances with a choice of perfumes.

The AMG Exterior Carbon-fibre Package adds carbon-fibre elements to the outside of the car while the AMG Night Package offers the AMG sports exhaust system with two black chrome finished twin tailpipes, and high-gloss black highlights.

Further options include a Panoramic roof with Magic Sky Control, refrigerated compartment in the rear, and brake calipers in red.

The equipment offered on the new S-Class Coupe combines to make it one of the most refined and comfortable cars on the road today. This is simply the quietest series-production car of all in terms of wind noise with excellent aero-acoustic performance due to improved insulation and aerodynamic body.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe – Price €244,009

Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the extremely powerful and luxurious S65 AMG Coupe. The big coupe offers unique drive comfort, benchmark performance and exquisite appointments.

“There are AMG fans for whom our V12 biturbo engine is the measure of all things. For this clientele we have developed a unique car in the form of the new S65 AMG Coupe. From driving dynamics to comfort and equipment – our new twelve-cylinder coupe surpasses even the highest of expectations”, comments Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

Pretty much, the new S65 AMG Coupe looks like the V8-powered S63 AMG model. Still, there are few different details like a different mesh for the front grille as well as the vents, yellow brake calipers instead of red ones, a set of unique alloy wheels 8.5J x 20” and 9.5J x 20” fitted with high-performance tires measuring 255/40 R20 and 285/35 R20. Last, but not least is the new rear diffuser and “V12 BITURBO” badges.

The engine is the well-known 6.0 liter V12 bi-turbo – 630HP (463 kW) and 1,000Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is connected to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC sending all that torque to the rear wheels. 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

Other special features include Magic Body Control with Curve Tilting Function as well as Road Surface Scan. The S65 AMG Coupe comes with a ceramic compound brake system, which is 20 % lighter.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe is already available on the EU market with pricing starting from €244,009 (VAT included). It is expected to hit the US market in the end of September.
