We absolutely love MANSORY and it is needless to say we do love the G-Class, too. But what happens when a tuning company like this puts all of its efforts on a G500? Miracles maybe? To answer the question we are going to talk about the latest MANSORY project, which involves the aforementioned Mercedes model.

Being one of the most noticeable vehicles on the road, the Mercedes G500 4×4 has been made even more dramatic in its appearance. The tuning experts took as a starting point the wide, flared wheel arches and additional height of the off-roader, and built their ideas on top of these innate qualities of the G-Class.

Carbon fibre has been used as far as the eye can see. Literally. Just take a look at the new front spoiler with LED headlights and the new hood made from visible carbon fibre. In addition, the flanks of the off-roader are beautified with air intakes on the front wheel arches, mirror housings, handles and trim. They are also made of the lightweight material as are the roof and roof spoiler, the rear apron and panels.

One of the very cool enhancements that the designers have added here is a step, which automatically extends to help the person entering the vehicle climb into its cockpit, so that he or she could see the unmatched interior treatment.

Basically, the cabin features everything that one needs to feel their selves in a luxurious and at the same time sports environment. Precisely, the sports steering wheel, which features a carbon inlay, was designed specifically for the 4×4. Below the waistline, there have been added aluminium pedals, evoking that feeling of driving a sports-car.

The luxury part is played by the entirely renewed interior. Almost everything was reupholstered and masterfully created by hand from leather and cutting edge carbon fabric. The changes are topped off by logos, decorative stitching and beading. Of course – in the color of the vehicle.

But it was not just the bodywork. MANSORY has installed its Powerbox and additionally supported it with a sport exhaust system. The extra power given to the G500 is 47 kW (63 PS) as well as 100 Newton meters of torque.

The abundant carbon fiber treatment inside and out, as well as the performance changes, make the G500 one of our favorite projects this summer.

Carbon Motors Mercedes-Benz G500 W463 got thorough interior, exterior and engine upgrades

Carbon Motors is probably one of our favorite tuning companies and the reasons for this are many, but mostly because of the exceptional and worthy projects they make. This time under the spotlight is the iconic Mercedes G-Class, which has received substantial interior intervention, and some minor but noticeable exterior updates.

To start with some facts from the history, you might be unfamiliar with the fact that the G in the name of this model comes from the German word Geländewagen, which means “cross-country vehicle”… or simply an off-roader. It was firstly introduced back in 1970s as a military vehicle after an order from the Shah of Iran. Eventually the 4×4 model became a production one, becoming an extremely cherished machine by the automotive enthusiasts all over the planet. Reasonably, some regard it as a fashion icon, too.

But getting back on topic, the less interesting part, the exterior, has received suspension and engine upgrades, which were done with the help of the experts at MD Commerce. On the inside is where the magic has happened. When one steps in, he or she will be amazed by the thorough sophisticated modification.

The experts at the Bulgarian tuning studio Carbon Motors dared to substitute all plastic elements of the G-class W463. Literally everything was handcrafted – from head to toes. What you can see in details on the images featured in the gallery is that the entire door covers, dashboard, central console were upholstered in black leather. For a little bit of contrast, hand stitching was added too. They have even further emphasized the interior through the black Alcantara upholstery for the pillars and headliner.

Turning on the engine, especially the one of the G-Class, might be deemed as noisy. For this reason, Carbon Motors fitted the 4×4 off-roader with noise and vibro-isolation. At last, for a more pleasurable ride, they have installed 500 watt hi-fi sound system.

  • Brabus Mercedes-Benz G500 Convertible

Brabus has unveiled their latest project based on Mercedes-Benz G500 Convertible. The open-top SUV follows a similar treatment for the three-door model.

The exterior comes with a new front bumper housing for the fog lights and LED DRLs (daytime running lights). There are also steel running boards, revised front sports grille, extended wheel arches and a new rear bumper with a modified diffuser. At the rear, we can see LED brake light and Brabus’ spare wheel while the body has received a metallic black paint.

The interior also comes with a black theme – perforated leather upholstery, a sports steering wheel, piano black and carbon accents as well as some Brabus logos and badges.

    Brabus Mercedes-Benz G500 Convertible is powered by a 5.5 liter bi-turbo V8 with 462HP (340 kW) and 615Nm (453 lb-ft) of torque. The original power is 388HP (285 kW) at 6,000RPM and 530Nm (391 lb-ft) at 2,800RPM. This means an increase of 74HP and 85Nm. The engine is connected to a 7-speed automatic transmission (7G-TRONIC PLUS).

The fuel consumption is epic – 20 liters / 100 km – 11.7 mpg US or 14.1 mpg UK with CO2 emissions of 348 g/km.

  • Mercedes-Benz G-Class – More Comfort and Value Added

Mercedes-Benz is once again going its separate way with the G-Class. Instead of modernising the visual appeal of the striking design icon and relaunching it with a new design, those in charge have left its indestructible, hallmark traits untouched since 1979. At the same time, the consistent effort which Mercedes-Benz has put into the evolution of the “G” has helped safeguard its leading position. (more…)
