2019 Mercedes-Benz G-350 d Mercedes-Benz presents a new G-Class machine that would confidently meet the demands of the new model year. This new G 350 d comes with a wide range of drivetrain combinations, numerous optional features and as expected, enhanced quality and rigidity worthy for the brand and lineup.

By presenting new G 350 d, Mercedes-Benz team also showcases its latest diesel engine – OM 656. This piece of technology was especially created in order to boost performance rates and bring some neat features in terms of driving dynamics. OM 656 comes with stepped-bowl combustion process, two-stage exhaust turbocharging system, CAMTRONIC variable valve timing and next-gen of NANOSLIDE cylinder technology for reduced friction losses in the piston wall. Engine’s output is measured at 286hp and 600Nm of torque. Neat! Additional drivetrain refinements include a revised 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission with torque converter with wide transmission ratio, permanent AWD and smart power output distribution.

And thanks to the new front-axle design, the on-road performance of the G-Class has been enhanced in such a way that the whole drivetrain system benefits – performance-wise this is one of the most agile and capable G-Class machines produced so far.

Vilner Team Challenges the Maybach Styling: Did They Make it Better?

2017 Vilner Mercedes-AMG G-55 And here we are reviewing one more impeccable styling concept. And an aggressive one too. In its core it is a brutal Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG. In fact, this one has undergone previous tuning programs, but as it seems, the owner is still not satisfied. And here’s where Vilner shines!

The task? Pretty straightforward: the team of specialists was asked to reshape and upgrade the interior and make it better than the interior of the latest G 650 Maybach Landaulet. Ambitious, isn’t it? So, let’s find out what the final result looks like!

The revised cabin is dominated by fine leather in Soft Cocoa Brown-Orange color and contrasts with the especially chosen black and brown-orange stitching. What catches the eye the most is the square-shape seat styling. This idea has its own story: the owner of the G-Class is an avid player of chess and wanted to honor the game in a certain way. Most satisfactory, if you ask us!

The rest of the cabin components follow the same styling language: the steering wheel is covered in this very same brown-orange leather, while the dashboard is covered by black leather. This color scheme not only resembles the color pattern of the seats, but also excludes unwanted reflections on the front window. And there was also one more thing added that heavily contributes to luxury: a noise reduction layer. Having a quiet cabin is almost orgasmic for some people out there. And we do believe that this noise reduction is vital for the comfortable feeling of passengers.

The roof is covered in black Alcantara and the luggage space benefits from numerous black additions. The decision for this black coloring is no coincidence: it makes a fine contrast with the brown-orange coverings and does not add to this window reflection, just as the seat coverage.

Also, there is one more addition that caught our eye: the seatbelts. As it seems, these are sports-focused and give off this scent of adrenaline and aggression. Pretty controversial to the overall cabin styling, but at the same time these do resemble the brutal nature of the G-Class. And yes, we do like them!

Getting even better: DTE Systems team takes a closer look at a Mercedes-AMG G-Class monster!

2017 DTE Systems Mercedes-AMG G-Class 500 As it seems, the G-Class marks a new rise: Mercedes-Benz team claims that the last year was the most successful for the whole series. There were more units sold than the historical 1979 – the year that production of the masculine machine was unleashed.

And with this massively risen popularity, tuners and engineering enthusiasts decided to take a closer look at the latest G-Class releases. One such tuner is DTE Systems. As you might know, these are the specialists that have earned critic’s and audience’s applauses for their numerous bold and high-quality tuning projects. And as many other people, we are eager to know what this latest project has to demonstrate! So, let’s waste no more time and take a look at this lucky G-Class vehicle.

The notable features

This is a G 500 unit that features a powerful V8 power unit with a total of 422hp (314kW) and 610Nm of torque. There are also some upgrades and fine tunings personally made by AMG crew. However, after DTE Systems have tweaked and changed some things here and there, now the G-Class monster provides additional 70hp and 98Nm, thanks to the added PowerControl chip tuning box. Also, DTE team has made it possible for the vehicle to accelerate from 100-200km/h by 1 second quicker. Neat! In fact, this bad boy is a fast sprinter: the 0-100km/h (62mph) run ends in mere 6 seconds!

All this is due to the installment of a PedalBox system: this thing contributes to quicker throttle response and more linear acceleration. Also, there are installed numerous smaller units and components that altogether do make a difference! We also like the electric light-green body finish. Neat!

Carbon Motors is probably one of our favorite tuning companies and the reasons for this are many, but mostly because of the exceptional and worthy projects they make. This time under the spotlight is the iconic Mercedes G-Class, which has received substantial interior intervention, and some minor but noticeable exterior updates.

To start with some facts from the history, you might be unfamiliar with the fact that the G in the name of this model comes from the German word Geländewagen, which means “cross-country vehicle”… or simply an off-roader. It was firstly introduced back in 1970s as a military vehicle after an order from the Shah of Iran. Eventually the 4×4 model became a production one, becoming an extremely cherished machine by the automotive enthusiasts all over the planet. Reasonably, some regard it as a fashion icon, too.

But getting back on topic, the less interesting part, the exterior, has received suspension and engine upgrades, which were done with the help of the experts at MD Commerce. On the inside is where the magic has happened. When one steps in, he or she will be amazed by the thorough sophisticated modification.

The experts at the Bulgarian tuning studio Carbon Motors dared to substitute all plastic elements of the G-class W463. Literally everything was handcrafted – from head to toes. What you can see in details on the images featured in the gallery is that the entire door covers, dashboard, central console were upholstered in black leather. For a little bit of contrast, hand stitching was added too. They have even further emphasized the interior through the black Alcantara upholstery for the pillars and headliner.

Turning on the engine, especially the one of the G-Class, might be deemed as noisy. For this reason, Carbon Motors fitted the 4×4 off-roader with noise and vibro-isolation. At last, for a more pleasurable ride, they have installed 500 watt hi-fi sound system.

The combinations are indeed mocha brown/black with dark tobacco stitching or deep-sea blue/black with deem-sea blue stitching.

Also, exclusively for the Mercedes AMG G 63 and G 65 models designo manufaktur offers more sportiness via the DINAMICA interior package. It includes AMG performance steering wheel, black nappa leather, seat and door centre panels , roof liner, seats, dashboard and other details with special stitching.

Additional equipment

The sweetie can be further equipped with the Night package that further enhances the distinctive look of the G-Class. Police in Dubai Shows Off with Brabus 700 Widestar [VIDEO]

Dubai. Police. City chase. Brabus Mercedes-Benz G-Class B63S 700 Widestar. When we combine all of these elements together, we get something truly spectacular. After the introduction of Brabus’ latest project that is based on Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG, catching the bad guy has been taken to another level. This is because driving something that cool can really make him or her stop running just to have a glimpse of the police car. In a recently-uploaded video, we are enabled to see the Widestar, or should I said “the Wild Star”, on the move, demonstrating what greatness on four wheels means. Literally.

The Dubai Police Edition arrives with legal and safely tuned attributes which definitely make an out-loud statement when the police is cruising around the streets of the luxury city. This car gets the standard B63S 700 updates which are applied to the 5.5-litre V8 bi-turbo engine.

The Brabus package boosts the power unit to 700 HP (515 kW) at 5,300 rpm and electronically limited 960 Nm (708 lb-ft) of maximum torque at 2,000 rpm. Retaining the AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic allows the car to cover the 0-100 km/h run in the impressive 4.9 seconds. Top speed is limited to 300 km/h.

Mercedes-Benz G-Class Celebrates 35 Years with World Record and Special Model

Mercedes-Benz G-Class is celebrating its 35th anniversary via a world record and an introduction of a special edition model. The global adventure taken by Gunther Holtorf and his wife Christine set out in their Mercedes-Benz 300 GD started with the aim to visit as many of the countries around the world as possible. When they embarked on the journey, their G-Class was just ten years old. Today, the vehicle is 26 and just under 900,000 kilometres, and more importantly – has visited 215 countries later.

To celebrate this record, the marathon vehicle will take pride of place in the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, where it will be shown to visitors. In addition, ‘Otto’ – the adventurous G-Class will also be made immortal in the Guinness World Records. Even more: since the finish of this unique journey around the world will coincide with the 35th anniversary of the G-Class, Mercedes will also mark the occasion with the launch of the special edition models G 350 BlueTEC Edition 35 and G 500 Edition 35.

The exclusive G-Class Edition 35 special model features the same body lines as its first ancestor. In fact, the body has been unchanged for 35 years and this exclusive Edition 35 clearly demonstrates this. It will be available for the G 350 BlueTEC and G 500 models and come to celebrate the anniversary.

The vehicle will be running on 18-inch 5-spoke light-alloy wheels in bright black, while the front and rear bumper, wheel arch linings, exterior mirrors and the roof sparkle come in obsidian black metallic. They contrast to the designo mystic white bright or palladium silver metallic paint finishes. There is also an option of an obsidian black metallic paint finish for the body.

As a standard Mercedes has introduced here the Sports package, which features AMG wheel-arch flaring and on the G 500 with sports exhaust system. There is also a Chrome package with chrome highlights in the radiator grille, chrome surround on the seat adjustment switch panel and loudspeakers or the door sill panel in the luggage compartment with “Mercedes-Benz” lettering.

Inside, the Edition 35 models features two high-grade leather upholstery and appointments options. They are available in two-tone designo porcelain/black or single-tone designo black. In both cases red contrasting topstitching further emphasizes the sporty character of the car. Also featured here is the Exclusive package with leather-covered dashboard, AMG performance steering wheel and designo trim in black piano lacquer as well as the roof liner in stylish designo black DINAMICA microfibre.

Mercedes-Benz Edition 35 G 350 BlueTEC has a starting price of €84,900.00, while the G 500 – €94,800.00.

DMC “Extrem” Mercedes-Benz G-Class

The Mercedes G-Class, formerly know as the G-Wagen is a traditional tough off-roader. It hasn’t changed much since its release back in 1979. The company sets for a new beginning with the launch of Mercedes Benz G500/G65 AMG program.

A redesigned vented front hood had to be added because of the new monstrous new engine with its doubled performance from 385 hp (285 kW) to the unbelievable 700 hp (515 kW). There are, for now 2 different engines. One is a 5.5 litre bi turbo petrol V.8 which can reach from 0 to 62 mp/h (100 km/h) in less than 5 seconds. And there is the second engine which is a 3.0 litre V.6 diesel which accelerates from 0 to 62 mp/h (100 km/h) in 9 seconds.

Round headlamps and turning indicators are placed right on top of the headlamps. The body panels appear strong. DMC comes with a variety of alloy wheels. Sizes range from 23” to 25”. Dimensions are 305/30/23 but can be re-adjusted.

At the off-road is where the G-class exceeds any other. It has massive ground clearance and impressive approach and departure angles; there is also a low-range mode and three way lockable differential to help stabilize the car when driving on slippery surface.

The G-class is spacious and convenient for carrying a lot of luggage. The trunk is huge and it’s square shape only adds practicality and even more space. Moreover, the backseats can be fold down which opens up additional space.

The cabin has been polished up so it can have efficient luxury to appeal to its new target markets: Asia and Middle East. It can be acquired with lots of modern equipment. All the safety features are included that can be found on all modern cars. Rear seat entertainment digital screens and radio. Three average size adults can fit on the rear sits with ease with comfortable headroom. Central locking engages once the vehicle accelerates. The interior can be tailor made with Carbon Fiber materials or with extremely rare Ostrich and Stingray leathers.

What I don’t like about the tailgate, is that its pain to open in tight spaces with the spare wheel on the back it makes it really heavy. Getting inside the car is proving to be a challenge. You have to make a big leap to get yourself in and it does not get easier , the running board is sticking out which allows a lot of dirt and mud to be brought inside the car, not to mention the need of strong thumbs to operate the integrated handles. Considering how big the G-class is, the knee room does not allow a lot of space and stretching is really hard to do.

The car is not exactly responsive. This is because of the low gearing of the steering. It tricks you into thinking it is a sports car because of the way it accelerates. It’s dangerous to make sudden emergency maneuver because then you get the feeling you are more like a tractor rather then a racing car. Another downfall is that on high degree corners, the G-class leans and becomes unstable.

Mercedes-Benz G-Class B63S 700 Widestar Dubai Police

Brabus has introduced their latest project based on Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG. The Dubai Police Edition will be exhibited in Dubai World Trade Center. The Dubai Police will also use the BRABUS upgraded G-Class from Mercedes-Benz to do duty on the streets of the city.

The legally and safely tuned vehicle will enable the Dubai police to provide some important public information on the streets of the city. As in Germany, where TUNE IT! SAFE! has established itself as an information platform for all things relating to tuning, sporty automobile accessories and general traffic safety, the initiative aims to raise awareness in Dubai, so that safety is not forgotten when it comes to automobile tuning.

The BRABUS B63S – 700 WIDESTAR package boosts the 5.5 liter V8 bi-turbo to 700HP (515 kW). 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph).

The exterior features WIDESTAR full body kit and 23” BRABUS “Platinum Edition” monoblock forged wheels. The BRABUS Dynamic Ride Control suspension offers the perfect symbiosis of superior driving comfort and dynamic handling.

German Special Customs Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG Delivers More Power

German Special Customs Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG is a pure off-roader with a monstrous 5,461 ccm V12 biturbo engine beneath the massive engine hood. Originally the engine’s power is rated at 612 horsepower (450 kW) and draws from a maximum torque of 1000 Nm (738 lb-ft).

The tuners at German Special Customs have created an optimization package for this Mercedes-Benz model, which enhances it performance. It is a multi-part broad construction kit that delivers not only a clearly more sportive appearance but also strongly expands the broadness of the G-class.

Firstly, GSC installed at the front a broad bumper bar, a new radiator cowling made of carbon fiber and a set of LED daytime running lights. Next, the engine hood look more massive due to an attachment made of carbon for the improved de-aeration of used engine air.

Massive wheelhouse expansions which run smoothly into the side skirt also contribute towards the broad appearance of the vehicle. In addition, the trapezoidal end-pipes made of stainless steel were integrated at the rear. At this part of the off-roader can also be seen a new rear bumper bar that matches the front as well as carbon cover for the spare tire in the rear.

What rounds-off the exterior are the external rearview mirrors and ventilation slits in the engine hood, all made of carbon fibre.

Another highlight in this project is that GSC has also enhanced the engine’s performance via software. The unit now develops 620 horsepower (455 kW). A modified exhaust system is also present.

What puts all this power on the road are the 23-inches forged rims fitted with special tires in the format 305/35 R23 on the four ends of the AMG chassis frame. The interior of the G63 AMG was also improved thanks to a black and red full-leather fitting and different ornamental carbon parts.

Mercedes-Benz Starring in the Latest “Die Hard” Film [VIDEO]

Mercedes-Benz is going to be represented with 14 different models in the new film “A Good Day to Die Hard” – the latest movie in the famous “Die Hard” series. Some of them are the G-Class, Sprinter, Unimog and Zetros and they all will help Bruce Willis to save the world.

His famous character – John McClane, finds himself in Moscow to help his wayward son Jack. Both get involved with the Russian underworld in pursuit, and battling a countdown to war. Eventually the two of them end up discovering the ways of becoming heroes again.

The luxury brand has a strong presence in the film, and in addition will be supporting the premiere screenings in London and Berlin by providing an exclusive shuttle fleet for the film’s actors and VIP guests.

The fleet of Mercedes-Benz vehicle used in the film range from the C-Class to the Zetros, E-Class Saloon as well as the new G 63 AMG, a GL-Class and a Maybach 57, and they all perfectly complement the beautiful scenery of the streets of Moscow. It is no surprise however that the brand was chosen to “act” in the future blockbuster, Mercedes-Benz vehicles are synonym for safety, performance and distinctive design.

“A Good Day to Die Hard” will be in theaters worldwide from 14th of February.

Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force Concept Takes Part in Los Angeles Design Challenge

Imagine how a Mercedes-Benz G-Class will look like in the year 2025! I am sure that you have figured out something extraordinary, but I am also convinced that it is nothing like the new Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force Concept.

The vehicle is based on the concept of a future police car and was developed for the Los Angeles Design Challenge, which this year had the quest for the “Highway Patrol Vehicle 2025”. The Ener-G-Force was designed with the prerequisite to reach any place conceivable quickly and reliably, to be exceptionally environmentally friendly and to utilize alternative energy sources.

The concept invokes the genes of the Mercedes-Benz off-road G model, however – it has modern looks. Exterior-wise, the small glass areas make the police vehicle a safe cocoon for law enforcement officers. The emergency lights are positioned into the roof. Additionally, they bring about more attention.

Next, the front fascia leaves the viewer wordless and it definitely serves its purpose to convey the commanding presence of the police. Adding to it are the huge wheels, which ensure that everything is reachable everywhere in an instant.

Moreover, the Ener-G-Force has a similar profile with its predecessor. Nevertheless, it shows high shoulder line and scaled-down glass areas. In addition, all surfaces express intensity and tension. Similarly to the iconic G-Class, the Ener-G-Force sports a front with an expressive radiator grille which includes headlamps.

Here LEDs in the headlamps form lamp units in the shape of a G. Next, the front indicators and position lights are positioned on top of the wings as a significant G-Class element.

What is more important here however, is the energy focus of the concept. The engineers have made it with water tanks on the roof, where the substance is stored and it is later transferred into the “hydro-tech converter”. There the natural and renewable resources are converted into hydrogen for operating the fuel cells.

The storage units for the electricity generated in this process are housed in the side skirts of the vehicle. It is important to highlight that the Ener-G-Force emits nothing but water and has an operating range of about 800 kilometres. In addition, there are four wheel-hub motors provide the pulling power. Their output for each individual wheel is adapted precisely to the respective terrain by high-performance electronics.

Even more, a “Terra-Scan” 360-degree topography scanner mounted on the roof constantly makes scans of the surroundings and utilizes the results to adjust the spring and damping rates as well as other suspension parameters for maximum traction on the respective surface. The strikingly styled side skirts house either the energy storage units or hot-swappable battery packs.

At last, changes in the colour of the illumination of the side skirts catch the attention and they also indicate what is the operating and charge status of the energy packs. A roof carrier and additional lamps are integrated into the roof. What I like the most about this concept, is that the whole vehicle looks like it has been carved from a single piece.
