  • If this Mercedes-AMG GT S could only happen…

Piecha Mercedes-AMG GT S Renderings front viewPiecha Design reveals first couple of renderings of the customized AMG GT S

Remember when we showed you the first sketch of Piecha Design’s Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S? Well, it is now time for the project to be fully revealed! Behold, for it is something entirely unexpected…

Leaving jokes aside, this car actually looks pretty good, given the fact that Marcus Piecha and his team told us initially that we should not expect an entirely new design. Their aim was to highlight the beautiful character of the Mercedes. And they have definitely achieved that.

Another advantage is that the basic shape of the car is attractive, hence it is way easier to make something look better when it is so good from the start. Anyway, this dream sports car is now taking shape and although still in a rendering form we can see some of its unique qualities.

SEE ALSO: This is how the Mercedes-AMG GT S could look, if …

In short – it is all about carbon-fiber here, exposed and unexposed. The best part of this project is probably the extra-wide rear that was designed by the owner. He actually told us that affixing it gave him some sleepless nights, because he wanted to keep the original brake wings fully operational.

Piecha Mercedes-AMG GT S Renderings rear view

Another attraction here is the slim lower “back-end” with its four-pipe exhaust with 90mm outlets. And to give you a hint of what’s next – there is new suspension on the way, which will contribute for more dramatic stance and better driving characteristics. Furthermore, we have more extra carbon-fiber goodies, including side blades and front-cup wings as well as air splitters in the front apron.

What can’t be seen in the renderings is the performance optimization that we were promised. So we should expect significant gain over the production numbers that the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S has. Namely, 510 hp (375 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque.

“But that’s not all,” says Marcus Piecha who is most probably going to surprise us with the full release of the project very soon. Stay tuned!

  • Lorinser releases power-upgrade for Mercedes-AMG GT and GT S

Lorinser Mercedes-AMG GT S front and side viewMercedes-AMG GT and GT S, oh, who doesn’t love these? Especially when it comes to high-speed and style the models are among the most preferred, not only for a stock purchase but also by tuning companies, which love to play with these little masters. One of those customization specialists are those at Sportservice Lorinser, who know what they are doing when it comes to refining Mercedes-Benz models. With their newly produced components for the AMG GT and GT S, these guys are “killing it”!

They have done here a power performance increase and added some in-house made sports accessories. Nothing much you might say, but the result after all is the most important part of a job that is very well done. Here are the details you need to know!

SEE ALSO: This is how the Mercedes-AMG GT S could look, if …

The stock engine of the AMG GT and GT S is the 4-litre V8 unit, making it possible for the GT series to unleash 456 hp (340 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 600 Nm (441 lb-ft); and for the GT S series: 503 hp (375 kW) at 6,250 rpm and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft).

Lorinser Mercedes-AMG GT S rear and side view

These numbers serve well to make a comparison to the result after the tuning, which is clocking 595 hp (443 kW) at 6,100 rpm and an impressive 750 Nm (554 lb-ft) of maximum torque, available at 4,900 rpm. When it comes to acceleration time, both model versions cut the time to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h to 3.6 seconds. In addition, the Lorinser-powered coupes reache 200 km/h in 10.1 seconds, driving on their way to the 300 km/h top speed.

The powerful uprating is complemented by RSK 8 light-alloy wheels, sized 20- and 21- inches at the front and rear, respectively. They were then fitted with 265/30 R20 at the front and 305/25 R21 at the rear. And this is all. It is not much, but still enough to enjoy a quality ride. And very fast one, too.

  • This is how the Mercedes-AMG GT S could look, if …

Mercedes-AMG GT S by Marcus PIECHA This great sketch of a unique Mercedes-AMG GT S has been designed by Marcus PIECHA himself. It is his vision of how the AMG GT S could look in the best possible way and it is currently in a “preparation” form. Although the tuning studio says that it is just a teaser, we are absolutely sure that this vehicle is about to come up to life very, very soon. So here is what we know.

Marcus Piecha has envisioned everything as “entirely new design”, but that still keeps the characteristics that make the Mercedes-AMG instantly recognizable. Despite that it is only a sketch, we can definitely see how much work is about to get involved in this project.

SEE ALSO: Mercedes-Benz SLC has never looked better and there is just one reason for this

What has been also emphasized is that the exciting new design was not supposed to re-invent the AMG GT or GT S, but to highlight its beautiful character. In other words, the designer wanted to make its racy look more pronounced, but without neglecting its elegance.

Plans for optimization include aerodynamic enhancement, optimization of AMG GT S’ suspension and boost of the overall performance. Just to remind you: the production variant of the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is capable of generating 462 hp (340 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, while the GT S variant of the model is rated at 510 hp (375 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque. So we can expect much more than these numbers.

Although no more details and data were announced, we believe that we will soon witness the first photorealistic renderings or images of the model. Still, fans will have to wait a few more months until the car is eventually entirely ready. Stay tuned!

  • Prior-Design meets Vossen Wheels in a cool Mercedes-AMG GT S project and everything is shot in Monaco

Prior-Design Mercedes-AMG GT S front and side viewWhat happens when two very posh companies that offer additional style for you vehicle work together? It happens projects like this. The unique Mercedes-AMG GT S has been updated by Prior-Design in general, but instead of the standard wheels that come with the wide-body kit they offer, it has been fitted with Vossen ones. What is more, the car has been photographed in one of the most beautiful places on Earth: Monaco! Is it the place that makes this car so attractive or?

Prior-Design Mercedes-AMG GT S has taken part in the 2016 Supercars Monaco Prior-Design Tour, which aimed at showing custom-made wide-body kits on some of the fastest models in the automotive world.

    Prior-Design PD800 GT

This is the name of the new wide-body kit by the specialists at Prior-Design. As you can expect, it not only makes the car more individual (in terms of looks), but it also takes care for its performance abilities, although in an indirect way.

SEE ALSO: Prior-Design is killing it with the Audi RS6/A6 Avant PD600R project

To go into details, the pack comprises of some cool parts like a front add-on spoiler and trunk spoiler, brand new side skirts, rear diffuser at the back, front and rear flared arches as well as custom canards and air intake panels. The result leaves us speechless. Oh and there is a custom bonnet on the way, too.

    Prior-Design Mercedes-AMG GT S front view

Originally this kit comes with the in-house made PD3Forged Superlight wheels. However in this case Vossen Wheels has stepped in bringing about more exclusivity than ever. Here you look at huge VPS-307 Vossen alloys fitted with low profiles.

Most definitely this tuning pack will help the supercar release its inherent power: 510 hp (375 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque. Just to remind you, the sprint the AMG GT S is making to 100 km/h from standstill is in only 3.8 seconds, while the Vmax has been positioned at 310 km/h (192 mph).

  • Mercedes-AMG GT S and C63 S With Extra 100HP by PP-Performance

PP-Performance Mercedes-AMG GT S and Mercedes-AMG C63 S Front and Side ViewPP-Performance and Fostla.de showed us an exquisitely tuned Audi safety car exactly three days ago. Now the tuners at PP-Performance have prepared something, which has impressed us very much again. This time they did not modify only one car, but under their customization were two Mercedes-AMG beauties. The first one is C63 S and the second – even better, the GT S model. There is nothing much done here, except for the breath-taking work on the engine.

SEE ALSO: Fostla.de and PP-Performance Gather for a Special Audi RS3 Safety Car

By the way, the engine under the hood of both cars is Mercedes-Benz 4.0 liters V8 biturbo unit. And we must also remind you that this powertrain is actually AMG’s variant. However, the specialists at PP-Performance weren’t that happy with the output, so let’s see what they have managed to achieve.

    Mercedes-AMG C63 S: Before and After

    Mercedes-AMG C63 S Front and Side View

As a standard the Mercedes-AMG C63 S produces no less than 510HP (375 kW) of power, 700Nm (517 lb-ft) of maximum torque. They come out from the 3,982 cm³ sized C-class engine. The top speed has been production limited to 250 kmph (155mph), while the sprint form 0 to 100 km/h has been estimated 4.0 seconds.

After the chip tuning, PP-Performance managed giving this Mercedes more than 100HP in addition. Precisely, the car is now capable to put out on the road 613HP (451 kW) and 769 Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque. The Vmax was also changed and it is now 307 kmph (190 mph), while the sprint from standstill to 100 km/h is a little bit better, 3.59 seconds.

Mercedes-AMG GT S: Before and After

PP-Performance Mercedes-AMG GT S Front and Side View

The standard V8 unit in the GT S class produces the following serial values: 510 HP (375 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft). Its top speed is 310 kmph (192 mph), while the sprint form 0 to 100 km/h has been measured 3.8 seconds. After the chip tuning, the specialists achieved 610 HP (449 kW) of power with 765 Nm (565 lb-ft) of maximum torque, 324 kmph (201 mph) of Vmax and 3.40 seconds for the above-mentioned sprint.

And if you want even more, PP-Performance is offering another extra 33 HP with the help of new racing filter, catless kit and engine characteristics optimization.

  • BRABUS Releases a Classy Styling and Performance Update for Mercedes-AMG GT S

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S Side ViewBRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S is a very special car, which we will see debuting at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The experts have changed the sports-car thoroughly and have included a significant boost for the AMG engine, some exterior tweaks and more cozy and luxury imbibed cabin.

Generally the custom BRABUS vehicles are more likely to be ‘over-tuned’ and with very rugged and pompous styling. This isn’t the case with this Mercedes-AMG GT S. The exterior of the sports car has been moderately modified and the sense of style and classiness has been kept. Follow my thoughts and you’ll know why.

    Reasonable Engine Boost?

    BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S Engine

The AMG GT S has its capabilities when it comes to performance. So the question here is whether an engine boost is necessary. There will be always opinions on both positions, but BRABUS experts have been obviously chosen the side where one could never have enough power… especially when it comes to a sports car.

    SEE ALSO: BRABUS Reveals 900HP Mercedes-Maybach S500

This is the reason they have developed the PowerXtra B40 – 600 performance kit. By the way this optimization comes only for the eight-cylinder twin-turbo engine of the GT S. As a result, it gives the enfine an additional 90 hp (66 kW) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) of torque.

In other words, after the upgrade, the GT S is capable of putting out 600 hp (441 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) at 4,800 rpm. The acceleration time has been rated 3.6 seconds for the 0-100 km/h sprint, while the top speed has been unleashed from 310 to 325 km/h (190 to 201 mph).

    Classiness for the Exterior

BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S Rear and Side View

BRABUS quad sports exhaust made from lightweight titanium with four tailpipes made from a combination of titanium and carbon is the perfect compliment for the engine tuning. The special thing about this exhaust is that it has been fitted with electronically controlled butterfly valves operated from the cockpit, thus giving the driver the choice of selecting the level of sound he or she is creating.

Carbon fiber, usually used in the Formula 1 racing, has been chosen for all bodywork components. Starting with the front, we see a front bumper which has been visually upgraded with BRABUS front spoiler. In addition, two covers for the side air intakes of the bumper lend the two-seater even more striking face. They also optimize the routing of cooling air. Integrated LED side markers optimize active safety.

At the sides, the experts added new air outlets for the front fenders, BRABUS logotypes and rocker panels. They lend the car lower and sleeker visual stance and also optimize the airflow between the front and rear wheel arches.

Going to the rear, we can’t argue that it isn’t athletic. The in-house made rear airfoil and diffuser with tailor-made cutouts for the four tailpipes of the exhaust system, contribute to optimized handling stability at high speeds.

Furthermore, BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S rides on custom wheels with 20-inches of size on the front axle and 21-inches – on the rear. The alloys are called Monoblock F “PLATINUM EDITION” and come coupled with tires of sizes 275/30 ZR 20 and 305/25 ZR 21 for the front and rear, respectively. At last, the new ‘shoes’ of the car demanded new sports springs that has been specifically tailored to the low profile tires. They lower the ride height of the GT S by about 15 millimeters.

    BRABUS for the Interior

    BRABUS Mercedes-AMG GT S Interior

Inside we see a BRABUS interior with exclusive accessories like the carbon scuff plates with stainless-steel inserts and a backlit BRABUS logo as well as chrome-plated aluminum pedals and aluminum paddle shifters in more ergonomic position on the steering wheel. The seats got premium fine leather upholstery, while the inlays were made from real carbon. There is also a wood upgrade the cockpit of the two-door car.

In conclusion, I must say that while I haven’t seen such a stylish upgrade by BRABUS. Well done guys!

  • Mercedes Premieres New Safety Car at the DTM

2015 Mercedes-AMG GT S Safety Car will be the premiered car at the second DTM race at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz. Behind the steering wheel will be Jürgen Kastenholz. The new sport vehicle will make sure there is enough safety on the race track. What is more, the car will be also deployed at the fourth race in Zandvoort, Netherlands, and at the final race in Hockenheim in October.

Mercedes-AMG GT S will also substitute the previous C 63 AMG Coupé Black Series Safety Car. The new vehicle is almost identical to the Official Safety Car being deployed at all of the 19 races of the 2015 Formula 1 season. In particular, GT S boasts front mid-engine concept with transaxle, V8 biturbo powerplant with dry sump lubrication, the dual clutch transmission and fantastic sports suspension with aluminium double-wishbone.

The most impressive part about this car is the driving dynamics. Here, the aluminium lightweight design not only allows for lowering the weight of the vehicle, but also for a low centre of gravity thus managing distribution of 47 to 53 percent between front and rear axle.

    Drivetrain

The drivetrain of the DTM safety car matches that of the GT S road-going version. This means that it is the 4.0-litre V8 biturbo that has a maximum output of 510 hp (375 kW) and 650 Newton metres (480 lb-ft) of peak torque. This guarantees an acceleration time from a standing start to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The Vmax is positioned at 310 km/h. The engine is mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission.

    AMG DYNAMIC PLUS

Mercedes is offering AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package with which the Safety Car will get dynamic engine and transmission mounts and “RACE” DYNAMIC SELECT transmission mode and “M” mode.

The package also adds tauter spring and damper tuning, negative camber at the front axle and adapted speed-sensitive sports steering system. Rounding out the pack is the performance steering wheel wrapped in black DINAMICA microfibre as well as the yellow highlights in the instrument cluster.

    Brakes, Wheels & Tires

The Mercedes-AMG car runs on matt black 19-inch forged wheels mated with 265/35 R and 295/30 R 20 tires at the front and rear, respectively. In addition, the braking system comprises of ceramic brake discs with a diameter of 402 millimetres at the front and 360 millimetres at the rear. It delivers lowered weight, a longer service life and better fade resistance.

    Aerodynamics package

In terms of aerodynamics, the safety car gets an optimized carbon-fibre air scoop on the roof. Thanks to it, there is a least possible airstream resistance, while the flow of air towards the fixed rear aerofoil. In addition, the new front spoiler helps in reducing the lift at the front and rear axles.

    Interior

The cockpit is extremely exclusive and features radio equipment and sports bucket seats that keep the diver fully focused on the track. Six-point seat belts provide maximum support. The Performance steering wheel is wrapped in black nappa leather and DINAMICA microfibre with flattened bottom section and silver-coloured aluminium shift paddles. Everything else throughout the interior is like the one of the production model.

At last, we must mention that the signalling functions on the light bar will be performed by fast-responding and energy-efficient LEDs.

  • Mercedes-AMG GT S in a Twisted Fable-like Commercial [VIDEO]

Mercedes can be considered a king when it comes to craftsmanship and attention-grabbing products. Being impatient until April, 2015 when the US market launch of the new Mercedes-AMG GT S is going to take place, the automaker “took hold” of another opportunity to brag about the splendid car.

This time the creativity and originality of Mercedes-AMG can be observed in a 60-second commercial, titled “Fable” which will air during this weekend’s Super Bowl. The spot is somewhat whimsical, strange, interesting and with a spin on the classic tale about the tortoise and the hare. The short video clip starts in a forest full of animals who are waiting for the race to begin. It all seems normal and as you would expect it until some of them decide to catch up with modernity and take a selfie. Another plot twist includes a game of poker and stealing of the new GT S by the tortoise. The peak of the commercial is when we hear the tortoise say “WHO’S YOUR TURTLE!?!” while the car is flying through the air. Oh, yeah, and there is the hare’s girlfriend peeking out from behind the tortoise.

Set to hit the markets very soon, the automotive monster by Mercedes is fitted with a powerful twin-turbocharged, 4.0-liter V-8 engine matched to a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission that has a transaxle design. 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S takes advantage of 503 HP and 479 lb-ft. feet of torque. This is enough to catapult the vehicle from 0 to 60 mph (0-100 km/h) in the screaming 3.7 seconds. The new GT S has a price tag of $130,825.

  • Mercedes-AMG GT Tweaked by German Special Customs

The guys from German Special Customs (GSC) are famous for their exclusively good-looking styling programs which always know how to complement the nature of a given model. This time around they surprise us with the first renderings of the special package for the Mercedes-AMG GT. And we have to admit that it looks devastatingly awesome!

After the professional touch of the tuner, the new AMG GT bodylook embodies even more strongly underlined sporty character. And because this was not enough, there is a feel of haughty aggression that comes as a bonus! I doubt that there is a person on this planet who would say no to this.

Back to the main point now. If we cut the Mercedes-AMG GT into separate pieces, just to get the idea what exactly the car features, we will see that GSC was more than generous when working on the improvements of this sportiness on four wheels. The full body kit is comprised of reworked bumpers with a large carbon fiber front spoiler, modified side skirts with a chunkier look and a massive GT3-style rear wing. We can also see that the pack of little and not so little tweaks includes carbon roof and mirror caps and refined headlights. The black wheels with yellow lips complete the refinements of the GT.

However, German Special Customs hasn’t proposed anything yet in terms of performance. What we know for sure is that the AMG GT is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine which is capable of developing 462 PS (339 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. The Mercedes-AMG GT S, then, generates 510 PS (375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque.
