  • 2014 Mazda6 i-ELOOP – 5.8 l / 100 km

2014 Mazda6 i-ELOOP is capable of achieving 40 mpg US (5.8 l / 100 km) on the highway. The new technology is available exclusively on the Grand Touring models priced from $29,695.

The i-ELOOP is part of the Technology Package which adds $2,080 to the final price tag so an i-ELOOP-fitted Mazda6 starts from $31,775 without the destination charges. Other equipment in the package include active grille shutters, Sport mode button, high beam control, lane departure warning system, Mazda Radar Cruise Control and forward obstruction warning system.

The unique capacitor technology in i-ELOOP can store large volumes of electricity and, unlike batteries, can be charged and discharged rapidly and is resistant to deterioration through prolonged use.

The i-ELOOP includes a new variable voltage (12-25V) alternator, a low-resistance Electric Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC) and a DC/DC converter. i-ELOOP starts to recover kinetic energy the moment the driver lifts off the accelerator pedal and the vehicle begins to decelerate.

Instop-start driving conditions, the use of i-ELOOP fuel economy improves by approximately 10% .  Working in conjunction with Mazda’s unique i-stop idling stop technology, i-ELOOP can extend the period that the engine can be shut off.

  • 2014 Mazda6 Saloon and the Celebration of Driving

2014-Mazda6-Sedan-THUMB2014 Mazda6 Saloon celebrates its first world appearance 2012 Moscow Motor Show. This is the second of the new generation of Mazda vehicles which are popular with the fact that they now include company’s full range of SKYACTIV technology and the “KODO – Soul of Motion” design language.

Moreover, the new Mazda6 flagship model will offer its customers high-quality driving experience and excellent outstanding safety an environmental performance. The latter technology features enhancements which contribute to improved fuel economy.

At first sight it is obvious that the new Mazda model has a deeply sculpted face. The hood creases extend from the tips of the signature wing and flow into the body character lines. Adding the solid design of the nose, the overall dynamic form of the body expresses a strong desire for motion.

  • Mazda6 Teaser [VIDEO]

2014-Mazda6-Teaser-thumbThere are already two teaser videos in the USA Mazda YouTube channel that concern the 2014 Mazda6 mid-sized sedan. They promise us a deeply stated “re-imagination”. We can see some creases and curves but that’s not yet the big picture so to speak, as more shortish and croppy videos will be fed through the month.

Mazda say that the fascia seen in one of the videos does have the TAKERI DNA in it but they also stress out that its not a concept thing thus it’s more functional, logical and real. The grill for example, also has some KODO “Soul of Motion” design ques . It all sounds very exotic and alluring but let’s not stray away from the point.

    Mazda6 (2014)
    Mazda6 (2014)

The 2014 Mazda6 will be the company’s second vehicles that will make do with the ever so popular SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY. It’s a realm of Mazda philosophy that engulfs everything from the materials that are used in the assembly to the very structure of the car. What the end result should yield is fuel-efficiency that goes alongside performance, dynamism and safety. The first car to showcase some SKYACTIV components was the 2012 Mazda3 thanks to it’s SKYACTIV 2.0 petrol engine and the subsequent available transmissions. The 2013 CX-5 however was the first full-blown SKYACTIV car that added some body and chassis components to the technology line.

The new 2014 Mazda6 should do no less and it is expected to go on sale in early 2013.
