Maserati-Quattroporte-GTS-THUMBMaserati Quattroporte GTS and the Alfieri 2+2 Concept are going to take the center stage at the forthcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. This year, the luxury company is celebrating its 100th Anniversary. For this occasion the bran is introducing the stunning Alfieri 2+2 Concept. This car and entire model year 2015 lineup will be shown in California at the event on 21st of November. Another debut, this time a local one, will be making the refreshed Maserati Quattroporte GTS, which is brand’s flagship sedan. At the show there will also be a special vintage Maserati display.

Alfieri Concept was shown earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show. It embodies the stylistic and racing heritage of Maserati, but at the same time it is exotic, sleek and is in “2+2” configuration.

The redesigned 2015 Quattroporte gets some new exterior and interior styling features for its S Q4 and GTS versions. The GTS is more powerful because of the 523 hp twin-turbo V8 engine. New detail accents are the lower bodywork color-matched to its body, the refreshed trident badge and red accented wheel center caps. • Maserati Introduces 100th Anniversary Ghibli S Q4 Neiman Marcus Edition

2015-Maserati-Ghibli-S-Q4-100th-Anniversary-Neiman-Marcus-Edition-THUMB2015 Maserati Ghibli S Q4 100th Anniversary Neiman Marcus Edition was introduced in the legendary Christmas Book. Only 100 units of the unique vehicle will be produced and eventually made available at a price tag of $95,000 USD. The vehicle features a bespoke combination, which will not be offered on the current Maserati Ghibli.

Ghibli is named after a North African wind and just like it this limited edition model is hot and powerful. It has flowing curved lines accentuated by the aggressive grill and bold triple vents, which perfectly illustrate car’s unique combination of elegance and sportiness.

The vehicle is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine, which was exclusively produced in collaboration with Ferrari. It helps the Maserati sprint from 0 to 60 in a mere 4.7 seconds. In addition, the car is fully equipped with Q4’s all-wheel drive technology that handles any all-weather driving conditions.

The exterior color of this special edition is called Grigio Maratea. What is more, a centennial-exclusive combination of premium exterior and interior options additionally sets the car apart. For instance such is the premium leather in Cuoio with Piano Black lacquer trim. Gloss Black door handles, a shadowline exterior trim, 6 piston front and 4 piston rear brake calipers in red as well as commemorative centennial center caps add additional visual strength to the car.

Furthermore, to make it even more exclusive, the models will get a special Neiman Marcus Edition number badge and 100th anniversary logo. They are placed on the center console. Black contrast stitching on the seats, dashboard and armrests are also highlighted by a black stitched trident on the headrests. • Maserati’s Super Bowl XLVIII Spot For The Ghibli

Maserati-Ghibli-Super-Bowl-Spot-mediumWell, the Maserati Ghibli is coming to the U.S. and so the appropriate hype needs to be stirred up. A Super Bowl spot might do the trick. But we are a bit skeptical on how the Italian company is trying to approach its targeted audience.

See, the 1:30 second piece starts off by highlighting some of nature’s tools of destruction, which, by the way, have brought a ton of misery to millions of people in the U.S. and throughout the world. Yes, it does go on to say that we, as humans, have been able to endured all this time and have learned to cope with natural disasters (or giants) and that’s fine. But what does an Italian supercar has to do with any of that? Seriously, was this directed by Michael Bay or something?

No, apparently, it was directed by American filmmaker David Gordon Green. A rationale of the commercial goes as follows:

“[the spot] is relevant to Americans everywhere who have had struggles and obstacles to overcome. It is a reminder that with steadfast commitment to hard work and unwavering passion, we can deal with our own “giants” around us, we can overcome them and achieve what we set out to do.”

    We still don’t get it.

Anyway, if we put all this silly marketing stuff aside, the Ghibli is still a tremendous piece of engineering. As Maserati’s first mid-sized four-door luxury sports sedan, it features a Ferrari built twin-turbo V6 engine capable of 400+ hp. It also has a sophisticated chassis complemented by Brembo brakes all around. A liberal use of aluminum ensure comfort and agility.
