2015 Lincoln Navigator has just been officially introduced by the luxury brand, which aims to offer with it a modern interpretation of the classic vehicle. Refinement have been applied to both exterior and interior with one of the main highlights – Lincoln’s iconic split-wing grille that has been reintroduced.
The SUV features a sleeker front that sports new design of the hood, while the rear end now features a power up/down tailgate. On both ends, the Navigator boasts jewel-like LED lights, as well as high-intensity discharge (HID) adaptive headlamps with LED accents.
The new Lincoln runs on standard 20-inch machined aluminum wheels, while as an option customers can chose the Reserve Package that comes with 22-inch polished aluminum wheels and chrome-accented running boards.
The same package also offers the following additional interior equipment Reserve Package: an updated cabin all-wrapped in luxury leather; a hand-wrapped, leather instrument panel with contrast stitching and leather glove box door; and Premium Ziricote wood trim.
A highlight here is the new steering wheel which is Wollsdorf leather-wrapped and wood-trimmed and that offers a thicker grip and softer touch. Navigator has been designed to accommodate up to eight persons via the second-row option.
More importantly, this SUV is powered by the fuel-efficient 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin turbocharged, direct injection unit that is expected to produce 370 horsepower (272 kW) and 583 Nm (430 lb.-ft.) of torque. The powertrain has been mated to the special six-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift that allows the person behind the wheel to manually control gears if desired.
The vehicle is offered in standard-length (207.4 inches) and extended-length (222.3 inches) version, as well as four-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive configurations. Lincoln has unveiled the new 2015 MKC, following the concept presented at the 2013 NAIAS. The Lincoln MKC is a unique creation from the ground up with an assortment of first-in-class features. Its all-new EcoBoostengine offers excellent performance while the liftgate is an example of masterful customer convenience.
The exterior features presents a sleek, sculpted body that helps it stand out among peers. Its sturdy, athletic presence is combined with soft exterior lighting, pedestal side-view mirrors and an available panoramic, all-glass Vista Roof giving the vehicle a luxurious, sophisticated personality.
The interior boasts luxurious environment including push-button gear shifter and plush leathers with French stitching. There is also a Bridge of Weir leather and authentic wood trim, along with a redesigned leather-wrapped steering wheel. 2015 MKC can be ordered with a 14-speaker THX-certified sound system, 8” touchscreen display and SYNC with MyLincoln Touch.
2015 Lincoln MKC is powered by a four-cylinder 2.0 liter EcoBoost turbocharged engine – 240HP (177 kW) at 5,500RPM and 366Nm (270 lb-ft) at 3,000RPM. You can also order it with an all-new 2.3 liter EcoBoost – 275HP (202 kW) at 5,500RPM and 406Nm (300 lb-ft) at 3,000RPM.
“Lincoln MKC is a perfect blend of inspired automotive design and dynamic driving performance in a segment that has grown in popularity in recent years,” commented Jim Farley, executive vice president of Ford global marketing, sales and service and Lincoln.
“As a challenger luxury brand, entering this segment is a natural next step for us. MKC will do more than just compete – it will change the way people think about Lincoln.”, he finished.
Lincoln has released full details about the new 2013 MKZ saloon. The concept version was recently showcased in Detroit and the production model is set to arrive in the showrooms in few months. However, the manufacturer didn’t release any price list.
As we can see the production model looks exactly like the concept. It comes with a large retractable panoramic glass roof, nice stylish interior and a full LCD instrumentation panel with Ford Sync infotainment system with MyLincoln Touch.
The engine range features two powerful petrol variants – a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 243HP (179 kW) and 366Nm (270 lb-ft) of torque and a mighty 3.7 liter V6 with 304HP (224 kW). Both power units are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and a Push Button Shift gear selector. The power can be put on the road through AWD or FWD.
There is also a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor with overall power of 191HP (140 kW). It is mated to a CVT gearbox and can only be ordered with FWD.
Brand new technologies, which have been developed on the Lincoln MKS and MKT, will now offer more power, more fuel efficiency an even more engaging driving experience. These full-size luxury sedan and crossover are coming in the spring of this year. Moreover they will deliver now more refined and exciting driving experience.
First of all the new 2013 Lincoln MKS has a significantly updated interior. In addition to that there are several luxury-class options that have to be considered. For instance there is available the Lincoln Drive Control. This is an automatic system which delivers an ideal balance of a smooth ride with confident handling. This is due to the intuitive respond of the system to the driver’s commands and the road itself. Moreover Lincoln Drive Control enables drivers to purposefully change the on-road personality of the MKS. For example the handling performance, ride firmness, throttle response, shift schedule, steering response and traction control/electronic stability control parameters can be shifted automatically when the gear selector is moved from Drive to Sport. Drivers can further personalize the Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) suspension settings, including selecting the smoother-riding Comfort setting, with the help of the MyLincoln Touch™. Furthermore Lincoln MKS is the only vehicle in its segment which has Continuously Controlled Damping. More importantly it comes as standard equipment. By monitoring suspension settings up to 500 times per second, the real-time system adjusts the suspension 20 times per second to deliver more controlled handling with a smoother ride. Another reason to purchase the new 2013 Lincoln MKS is its standard 3.7-liter V6 engine, which delivers more projected horsepower (300 horsepower (220 kW) versus 274 horsepower (201 kW)). In addition it is coupled with improved fuel economy – projected 19 mpg city/28 mpg highway, a 3-mpg highway improvement versus today’s car. There is also an optional EcoBoost™ 3.5-liter V6 also produces more horsepower, 365 (268 kW) vs. 355 (261 kW). Further optimizations in the new model feature collision warning technologies. We are having in mind here the new Lane Keeping Alert and new Lane Keeping Aid technologies which help warn drivers of potentially dangerous conditions and help them avoid common accidents. At last in the new MKS in included an expanded SYNC® functionality. It now includes standard Operator Assist and local Wi-Fi® hotspot capabilities for laptops and tablets.
2013 Lincoln MKS
The second vehicle presented by Lincoln brand today is the new 2013 Lincoln MKT. The new model offers most of the same improvements added to the MKS: Lincoln Drive Control, CCD, more power and improved fuel economy. However, the MKT includes some specific features. First, we have inflatable second-row outboard safety belts. Rear seat passengers can be more vulnerable to head, chest and neck injuries. Hence the available inflatable second-row, outboard safety belts spread impact forces across more than five times the area of conventional safety belts. The effect is the reduction of the pressure on the chest while at the same time helping to control head and neck motion and helping reduce the risk of injuries. Additionally there is a standard collection of driver assist technologies: an array of six airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction control and AdvanceTrac® with RSC® Roll Stability Control™. Adding to them is the Curve Control, which helps drivers maintain control in the MKT when taking a curve too quickly.
2013 Lincoln MKT
Of course all Lincoln vehicles feature a comprehensive warranty and complimentary maintenance package. It includes four-year, 50,000-mile complimentary maintenance with featured coverage for oil and filter changes, tire rotations and multipoint inspections for up to eight service visits for all 2011 model year and newer vehicles. Next there is also included four-year, 50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty; five-year, 60,000-mile safety restraint limited warranty; five-year, unlimited mileage corrosion limited warranty. And eventually there is the six-year, 70,000-mile powertrain limited warranty.
Both new models are expected to arrive at Lincoln dealers this spring.
Lincoln have revealed their latest concept (the MKZ) on the NAIAS to give voice to their intentions for the future design path they are willing to take. The MKZ Concept showcases “elegant simplicity” and unconventional luxury.
Looking at the pictures we can see what they mean. First impressions come from the brandy-colored exterior which, Lincoln say, consists of a dense base coating and a multitude of clear-coat varnish. The MKZ‘s superstructure comprises of materials such as baron and aluminum. The overlaying, smooth roofline (which houses a panoramic window trough and trough) sort of conceals the fact that this is in fact a sedan which normally consists of three boxes. The seemingly organic profile takes an aerodynamic feel with ease. Recognizable Lincoln features however, do not go unnoticed – the grille, although very conceptual, still retains the image of a split-wing-like entity first seen on the 1938 Lincoln Zephyr.
Lincoln MKZ Concept Detroit (2012)
Inside, a blend of poplar wood, aluminum and leather complements the bold outer design. The beverage themed hues continue as ‘champagne-colored’ seats show off their ‘champagne perforation patterns’ (something about the stitching that makes them look fizzy with bubbles just like a champagne glass). The four-seated saloon is airy and inviting that makes use of some cleverness – push-button transmission gear selection, a 10-inch MyLincoln Touch screen for the driver as well as an 8-inched one in the middle.
For power, the MKZ will most probably utilize the MKS and MKT EcoBoost engines, which come with Drive Control. The suspension will also make use of Lincoln’s Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) system. Drivetrains setups include both FWD and AWD.

At first glance Hyundai Sonata looks extremely masculine. Nonetheless it features very feminine sides such as unique modern interior and smooth curves. Another very important feature is that the four-door sedan is extremely fuel-efficient. It is the perfect family car, not only because of its’ five-passenger seats, but also because of its practicality and safety. Furthermore it is at excellent amount of money. In addition, to make it even more efficient, in 2011 Hyundai has made out of it a hybrid model.
Undeniably Honda Civic is very appealing and eye-catching. But the woman behind the steering-wheel has chosen this car because it is firstly dependable, secondly – reliable, and thirdly – economical. Moreover it is exciting to drive and it is very comfortable for the passenger. And if you think that only the single ladies will pick such car, well the moms will also choose it because it offers a great level of safety!
Toyota Yaris is the perfect city car and it is one of the most affordable small cars on the market. Moreover it offers dynamic styling and great level of handling and ride quality. In addition to the unique styling stand the high-class interior, the capable handling and at last – the comfortable ride it provides. Moreover it is very well-equipped and offers more space than its ancestors.
Of course we can’t go further in the Top 10, if we don’t include the Mercedes-Benz brand. Although a lot of women prefer to drive the A-Class too, we have picked for this position – the new B-Class. There are several reasons that most women will fall for this incredible vehicle. First of all it is very stylish in both exterior and interior. Secondly it provides considerable amount of space in the massive cabin and in the cargo. Moreover it is the perfect family car because it offers great levels of comfort and security. And to sum up – it is the perfect car for caring mums!
The next place goes for Dodge Journey, which is another family car but this time a crossover. What is unique about this car is that it can offer a place for up to 7 passengers and hence this makes it perfect for families with a lot of members. Moreover the car is really at affordable price and is fuel efficient. It can offer the best ride during distant trips for holidays!
The woman who drives this car definitely understands from style, because this vehicle is classy and powerful! It is a combination of numerous features, starting with interior and the vigorous V8 engine. In addition it offers as well a comfortable ride in a quiet interior made of high quality materials. And although it is not inexpensive as some other cars included in this chart, it is definitely one of the cars which women love to drive.
The last included car here is the luxury Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. This vehicle is both affordable and it is a segment leader in terms of efficiency! The pros about this car include not only the high fuel economy but also the excellent infotainment features, the comfortable seats and driving position, and at last but not least – the responsive steering. One thing is surely here – the woman who drives this Lincoln MKZ Hybrid shows that she doesn’t have to sacrifice luxury to own a green vehicle.
The new 2013 Lincoln MKS solves this dilemma between smooth ride and satisfying, confident handling. It and stands out, because it is the only car in its segment to have Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) as standard equipment. The CCD ensures that the driver will have exciting and comfortable driving, while at the same time it will be dynamic and involving.
CCD is always tuning and refining the ride quality, and more importantly this is regardless of road conditions. Additionally CCD delivers also its on-road benefit by significantly extending the chassis’ capabilities compared to a chassis with non-adjustable struts and shock absorbers, known as “dampers” by chassis engineers.
Real-time damping
The new CCD dampers for the 2013 MKS offer expanded and improved control range in comparison with the fixed-rate dampers fitted to the 2012 MKS.
The system’s powerful processing speed and fast-acting mechanicals enable CCD to constantly read the road surface and continuously adjust damping rates in real time across the three selectable ranges – Sport, Normal and Comfort.
Lincoln drive control
The Lincoln Drive Control brand new interface makes MKS different and it is orientated towards drivers’ choice, who can select through various programmed modes like Normal mode, Sport mode, and Comfort Mode. Moreover the electric power-assisted steering recalibrates are providing more road feel and greater steering effort. In this way the engine responds more directly to the driver’s inputs. For example, the Comfort mode instructs the CCD suspension to run in its softest range. The dampers exert 10 to 15 percent less control compared to the Normal mode. Additionally the electric power assisted steering system also reduces the effort needed to turn the wheel at low speeds, for example, when parking. Definitely CCD is the core new technology, which will change everything in the automobile world, and it is totally orientated towards the drivers’ choice! So appealing, isn’t it!
Engines and transmissions
The standard engine for 2013 model is a more powerful and efficient 3.7-liter V6. It now includes twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT), which offers the ability to vary camshaft timing to optimize the opening and closing of both the intake and exhaust valves. In this way the engine’s responsiveness and efficiency is being increased.
Specific accessory technologies were added to the 3.7-liter V6 to improve fuel economy performance and efficiency. The 3.7-liter delivers an estimated 19 mpg city/28 mpg highway for the front-wheel drive model and 18/26 mpg with the all-wheel-drive model. And tuned dual-exhaust system enhances low-end torque. Furthermore is to be mentioned the Smart Battery Management which also contributes to this improved economy by prioritizing the recharging of the vehicle’s battery at optimum times.
3.5-liter Ecoboost V6
No news here: the premium engine for 2013 still remains the twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6, an engine that provides V8 performance with the fuel economy of a V6. And don’t forget that The EcoBoost V6 winned a place on Ward’s 2010 “10 Best Engines” list. The fuel economy of the EcoBoost/all-wheel-drive powertrain is projected to be 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway – isn’t that impressive?! Indeed, the engine combinations for the 2013 Lincoln MKS offer an outstanding combination of more refined power and enhanced fuel economy.
Efficient six-speed transmissions
The 2013 Lincoln MKS is equipped with two versions of the six-speed SelectShift AutomaticTM transmission, both with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. At one hand the 3.7-liter Ti-VCT V6 uses the 6F-50. On the other we have the more powerful 3.5-liter EcoBoost, which uses the heavy-duty 6F-55 which benefits from high-energy friction materials, a larger ring gear and a specific torque converter to handle the high torque output of the twin-turbo V6.
All-wheel drive
The system intelligently routes power only to the front wheels for improved fuel efficiency. For instance when driver input or road conditions indicate that slip might occur, the system sends power to the rear wheels to help prevent tire slip.
The additional information is that the all-wheel drive is standard with the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 and optional on the 3.7-liter V6.
More capable braking system
Improvement in the braking system is much needed here because it has to match the engine’s extra power and the suspension’s additional handling capabilities. For that reason Lincoln has significantly upgraded the MKS braking system for 2013 – it will unquestionably give the driver confidence and control. The modification is the following: new vented front discs measure 13.86 inches (352 mm), more than an inch larger than in the 2012 model. And to enhance brake cooling, the “hat” portion of the front brake disc is also vented.
Steering
This is where the focus id put on: the MKS steering system received a thorough makeover for 2013. The gear ratio is quicker (15:1 for 2013 vs. 17.1:1 for today’s MKS), making the steering more immediately responsive at all speeds. In addition, the steering boost is now electric rather than hydraulic. Last but not least the new electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) complements CCD in contributing to the driver-tunable Lincoln Drive Control experience.
The improved performance is due to the steering gear which is now solid mounted to the chassis’s front subframe. Moreover, a brace has been added under the vehicle (across the transmission tunnel) to strengthen the subframe’s mounting points to the chassis.
EPAS replaces the traditional hydraulic-assist power-steering pump with an electric motor. For that reason this is helpful to save fuel because the motor operates only when assistance is required, (unlike the hydraulic systems that run continuously).
Active park assist
Again EPAS is also the primary technology behind the available active park assist (APA) system. How it works: An ultrasonic sensor precisely measure open spaces to find a suitable parallel parking spot. For the sake of the comfort of the driver, he or she retains full control of throttle, brakes and shifting the entire time the APA is engaged.
Torque vectoring control
The new Torque Vectoring Control (TVC) system is set to Sport Mode. This TVC helps the MKS drive through corners with greater balance and poise. Moreover it individually influences the speed of the front wheels to enhance cornering agility by mitigating against a dynamic condition engineers refer to as understeer.
Sync
The next generation of the award-winning SYNC system is now easier to use: new, simpler screen designs, improved user interface, the larger and bolder fonts which make screens easier to read, SYNC’s voice recognition experience and etc. This is how SYNC has developed from a stand-alone module for communication and entertainment to a fully integrated operating system for Lincoln vehicles. It is to be highlighted that SYNC also enables the interior of the MKS to become a Wi-Fi hot spot when linked to a data-enabled cellular device. This means that with an active Wi-Fi, passengers can link to the Web on their tables or laptops.
Lane keeping system
Brand new for the 2013 MKS is a Lane Keeping System that complements the complete collection of driver assist technologies, in addition to the comprehensive safety package including six airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction control and AdvanceTrac® ESC (electronic stability control). It also includes Lane Keeping Alert and Lane Keeping Aid, which add significantly to the advanced driver assistance features already available on MKS. A good instance is that this Lane Keeping Alert helps the driver to avoid leaving their lane unintentionally because of distraction or tiredness. Furthermore, Lane Keeping Alert utilizes a forward-facing mono-vision camera mounted behind the rear-view mirror to begin looking for lane markers. A control unit monitors the data and determines when the vehicle is wandering out of its lane and as the vehicle approaches the outer boundary of its lane, the system vibrates the steering wheel, reminding the driver to pay attention. Brilliant, isn’t it!
Auto high-beam headlamps
Auto high-beam headlamps are also included. They use the windshield-mounted camera to monitor traffic conditions and control high-beam activation.
Collision warning
Collision Warning as expected, helps prevent common traffic accidents such as forward-looking, with the help of the long-distance radar which identifies potential obstacles. These warnings allow the driver to brake before a potential accident.
Adaptive cruise control
Collision warning is paired with adaptive cruise control (ACC). The reason for that is that both features use the forward-looking radar system. They have the range of up to 600 feet, and this adjusts vehicle speed to keep it at a safe distance behind another vehicle in the same lane, no matter of the weather conditions like fog or rain.
Blind spot information system
This brand new and thoughtfully considered Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with cross-traffic alert detects the vehicles in blind spots during normal driving as well as traffic approaching from the sides when the driver is reversing out of parking spots. This happens because of the BLIS radar sensors which continuously monitor each side of the vehicle to detect when another vehicle enters the defined blind spot zone (within 45 feet).
Mykey
What is MyKey® – it is the system that allows parents to restrict certain Lincoln MKS features when in the hands of a MyKey driver. It is made generally to ensure that the driver won’t exceed a maximum speed of 90 km/h for example, or it deactivates the Traction Control System that limits tire spin.
Exterior
Yes, the design is stunning and breathtaking. The new 2013 MKS has A-pillar forward, including the grille, HID headlamps, front fascia, hood and front fenders, fresh 19- and 20-inch aluminum wheels, new fascia, LED tail lamps, exhaust tips and a new decklid design that improves access to the trunk. And in one word: it is significant!
Interior
These styling updates are made for the sake of the transformation of the cabin. The interior is dominated by lines that sweep up from the center stack and flow out to the sides. Subtle ambient lighting adds to the interior’s luxurious, high-tech environment. All this new styling is promised to be seen in the upcoming future models of Lincoln.
Infotainment systems
The new MKS offers two audio systems: a standard one and an optional one. The standard system includes AM/FM/CD/MP3/satellite sources playing through a 210-watt system that drives 10 speakers. On the other hand the optional audio system is THX® II Certified Car Audio System with AM/FM/CD/DVD/ MP3/HD Radio capability and 16 speakers, including a 10-inch subwoofer. SiriusXM satellite radio with six-month prepaid subscription, an auxiliary input jack and a USB port are also included. What is appealing in this system is that the volume is being automatically adjusted according to vehicle speed. Conclusion: this is definitely an exceptional acoustic performance that brings home-theater sound to the road.
Luxurious, organic, comfortable
Luxury and comfort go hand by hand. This Lincoln style is supported by equipment that enhances occupant comfort. Lincoln’s available multi-contour seats incorporate seven computer-controlled air bladders to provide occupants with maximum adjustment. In addition both driver and passenger seats feature individual static settings as well as dynamic massage settings.
The seat surfaces are provided by the Bridge of Weir leather company, which uses a unique organic tanning method that results in a production of material free of chromium. This definitely makes the car more eco- and environmentally friendly, and more importantly – fully recyclable, leathers available.
Crafted details
For drivers who live in colder climates, a new heated steering wheel is considered. It raises the wheel rim’s surface temperature from minus20 degrees Celsius (minus 4 degrees Fahrenheit ) to 23C (74F) in only five minutes.
In addition new woods (Prussian Burl and Brown Swirl Walnut) and leather colors (Hazelnut and Light Dune) complete the extensive list of interior changes for 2013. And with it the person driving that beautiful luxury and comfortable car will be really unique. Why? Because two Lincoln interiors featuring natural woods display the exact same grain pattern.

One of the most iconic and distinctive film cars of all time is the Batmobile. It will be a part of Historics at Brooklands auction in Surrey on June 2 this year.
Mark Perkins, who is one of Historics’ investors, owns the car since 1988.
“Classic cars, and this one in particular, should be driven to be enjoyed, and I’ve loved taking it on the road over the years. However, my work with Historics at Brooklands will leave me little time to do so in the future, and so sadly it’s time someone else derived pleasure of ownership.”, said Mark Perkins. (more…)
