  • 2017 Lincoln MKZ: Beautiful and Trustworthy

2017 Lincoln MKZ2017 Lincoln MKZ received the highest safety award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The premium vehicle has managed to tackle down all the challenges and even scored exceptional results in the front crash prevention test.

Indeed, we are talking about the Top Safety Pick+ award. As you might already know, this is the toughest one to get and in order to classify as worthy, a vehicle must get superior ratings in the small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side and roof strength tests. And with incredible confidence and versatility, the 2017 MKZ rushed through all of them and amazed all jury members.

In fact, what aided the MKZ through the examinations are the modifications made and the numerous additional gadgets and systems. These include Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, new and better cameras and radar technologies, Lane Keep System, BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) and many, many more.

Just in the style of Lincoln, the new addition is as beautiful and as versatile as all of the predecessor models and we are pretty sure that the 2017 MKZ is yet to impress us. Also, it would be a pleasure to see more of these sweet video advertisements that were launched not so long ago. However, stick with us for further information!

  • Lincoln has launched the ad campaign “it’s like that”, starring Matthew McConaughey [w/videos]

2017 Lincoln MKZLincoln announces three new video ads in the new “it’s like that” campaign, once again with movie star Matthew McConaughey. This time the focus is on the 2017 Lincoln MKZ and the team definitely has a lot to show to the audience.

Filmed with style and tone that conveys exhilaration and visceral feeling of driving, the new commercials bring the attention back to the MKZ, the premium midsize sedan, also known to be Lincoln’s best-selling vehicle since it arrived in showrooms three years ago.

The three ads feature the new 2017 Lincoln MKZ and Matthew McConaughey include:

    Shave

Mr. McConaughey sits relaxed in barber’s chair, receiving a professional and straight razor shave. As the barber ends the ritual with a steaming hot towel, we see the new 2017 Lincoln MKZ cutting through the fog of a winding road, conveying the “it’s like that” moment of exhilaration and precision.

    Midnight

At night (obviously), Matthew arrives at an impressive Modernist home, dressed in fine, tailored suit and walks outside to a beautiful swimming pool. As he stands at pool’s edge fully dressed and looks out, he recalls driving the MKZ and lets himself fall backwards into the water, fully dressed. And at the moment he hits the water, we see the new 2017 Lincoln MKZ acceleration out of a tunnel and into night time rain, expressing one more time “it’s like that” exhilaration of driving.

Ensemble (feat. Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings)

We see a group of Musicians playing in a cozy indoor setting. As the camera pulls back, the music builds, and Sharon Jones begins singing a cover of “Midnight Rider”. As they continue to play, the camera recedes even further and we see the performance through the grille of the new 2017 Lincoln MKZ. And inside the vehicle, we see Matthew McConaughey as that very same midnight rider enjoying his drive. Sweet.

  • 2013 Lincoln MKZ – full details

    2013 Lincoln MKZ
Lincoln has released full details about the new 2013 MKZ saloon. The concept version was recently showcased in Detroit and the production model is set to arrive in the showrooms in few months. However, the manufacturer didn’t release any price list.

As we can see the production model looks exactly like the concept. It comes with a large retractable panoramic glass roof, nice stylish interior and a full LCD instrumentation panel with Ford Sync infotainment system with MyLincoln Touch.

The engine range features two powerful petrol variants – a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 243HP (179 kW) and 366Nm (270 lb-ft) of torque and a mighty 3.7 liter V6 with 304HP (224 kW). Both power units are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and a Push Button Shift gear selector. The power can be put on the road through AWD or FWD.

There is also a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor with overall power of 191HP (140 kW). It is mated to a CVT gearbox and can only be ordered with FWD.

  • Lincoln MKZ Concept Debuts at NAIAS

Lincoln have revealed their latest concept (the MKZ) on the NAIAS to give voice to their intentions for the future design path they are willing to take. The MKZ Concept showcases “elegant simplicity” and unconventional luxury.

Looking at the pictures we can see what they mean. First impressions come from the brandy-colored exterior which, Lincoln say, consists of a dense base coating and a multitude of clear-coat varnish. The MKZ‘s superstructure comprises of materials such as baron and aluminum. The overlaying, smooth roofline (which houses a panoramic window trough and trough) sort of conceals the fact that this is in fact a sedan which normally consists of three boxes. The seemingly organic profile takes an aerodynamic feel with ease. Recognizable Lincoln features however, do not go unnoticed – the grille, although very conceptual, still retains the image of a split-wing-like entity first seen on the 1938 Lincoln Zephyr.

Inside, a blend of poplar wood, aluminum and leather complements the bold outer design. The beverage themed hues continue as ‘champagne-colored’ seats show off their ‘champagne perforation patterns’ (something about the stitching that makes them look fizzy with bubbles just like a champagne glass). The four-seated saloon is airy and inviting that makes use of some cleverness –  push-button transmission gear selection, a 10-inch MyLincoln Touch screen for the driver as well as an 8-inched one in the middle.

For power, the MKZ will most probably utilize the MKS and MKT EcoBoost engines, which come with Drive Control. The suspension will also make use of Lincoln’s Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) system. Drivetrains setups include both FWD and AWD.
