  • Exclusive: Lexus Reveals LF-LC GT Vision Gran Turismo

Lexus has just exclusively revealed the LF-LC GT Vision Gran Turismo car and it is awe-inspiring! The car is planed to be distributed in a free update (no joke) for the PlayStation3 Gran Turismo 6 game. This will happen in the spring. The virtual car was developed to answer fans who “want to race world competitions in their dream car”. As a matter of fact, the design and development of the model was based on the idea of targeting entry in races such as the Super GT or the Nürburgring 24 hour race.

As a base model the talented team used the luxury coupe LF-LC concept. The latter car was created by CALTY DESIGN with the aim to be detailed and to include many features that evoke emotion. An example is the shape of the tail lamps which is inspired by afterburners of a jet aircraft.

As mentioned, the virtual PS3 car is based on the LF-LC, but was infused with the real world approach of Lexus racing. And as you can see the result is beautifully sculptured vehicle which is also performance-oriented GT car.

Take a look at the pure white body of the LF-LC GT Vision Gran Turismo! It seems perfect and it also has iridescent brush strokes which express the exhaust tones, quickening pulse and moments of excitement. The front of the car features muscular front bumper, spindle grille and the LF-LC concept LED headlights.

Some carbon details are also there – see the carbon fiber hood? The sporty styling at the back of the vehicle features ventilated rear bumper with a lot of carbon fiber trim and three dimensional taillights. In short: this car will probably fulfill the dreams of every Gran Turismo fan!

  • Lexus RC F: Dynamic Beauty

No one can deny that the styling of the new Lexus RC F coupe exhibits particular sophistication and determination in every curve. Being good on the outside is one thing, but being equally good on the inside and under the bonnet is totally different. The combination of such characteristics results in an ultimate quality which signifies efficiency and remarkable dynamic potentials. All of this is well demonstrated by the RC F.

Inspired and developed from the exclusive LF-LC and LF-CC concepts which Lexus revealed in 2013, the RC F conveys a distinguishable appearance which is confident enough to stand out in the crowd. The compelling coupe has a front end that is enhanced by a new spindle grille. This time around, it has a double-spindle effect with a graduated F-motif mesh grille which helps ventilate the 5.0-litre engine.

There is a three-LED lamp headlight design which is underlined by separate LED running lights arrayed in the Lexus L motif. Stability when driving at high speed is further complemented by the slick flow of vented air over the top and sides of the Lexus and by the aero-stabilizing fins integrated in the door frame moulding.

Finally, the RC F Carbon incudes a bonnet, roof and rear wing fabricated in lightweight Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic, reducing the coupe’s overall weight by approximately  10kg.

Lexus RC F is available to order now with a starting price of £59,995. UK customer deliveries are going to start in February.

  • LF-LC Sport Coupe Concept Big Hit in Detroit

Some news from the NAIAS – Designers at the Lexus studio in Calty, California can take a much deserved vacation now as the much anticipated Lexus LF-LC Hybrid Sport Coupe Concept is proving itself a big success with an ‘EyesOn Design Award’ for a best concept. Innovative approach has been kept in mind when designing the 2+2 Hybrid which incorporates a certain emotive charge combined with cold blooded technology.

Elements of the new Lexus way, seen in the new GS 450h, can be encountered in the concept, particularly the “spindle“-like grille form and the rear architecture.

Kevin Hunter, Calty President, said: “The LF-LC was a dream car to design and a true collaborative effort at Calty. It is an honour to have that work recognised by our peers and to receive the award.“

In the mean time, Mark Templin, Lexus US Group Vice President and General Manager, commented: “The LF-LC is a striking design and breathtaking in its beauty. The team at Lexus quickly fell in love with this concept vehicle and it’s rewarding to see that the industry agreed. Receiving the EyesOn Design Award is a great start to what promises to be a fantastic year for Lexus.”

Both concept and production vehicles can be honored with the ‘EyesOn Design Award’ which is given after a group of world leading automotive designers and design academics approve the product. Creativity in different areas of design is appreciated which includes aesthetics and innovation, concept implementation, functionality and the spirit of industrial design.

  • Lexus LF-LC Sports Coupe Concept New Pictures

We have had one or two teasers about the Lexus LF-LC but now, a week before its debut, two new official, real-life pictures are on the loose. We still cannot report on any technical data except that it will bring “driving performance and fuel efficiency” to the world because we are talking about a hybrid. Even the branding on the sides suggests so.

Other than that, it just looks amazing, and slippery, and sleek. The front grille is big enough to pass as an industrial fishing net while various air inlets (for cooling the brakes presumably) shyly peak out from the curves of the body. Inside the squiggly lines of the interior are overwhelming and so are the seats which look like leather coated battle droids borrowed from the set of Star Wars.

It’s nice to see Lexus trying to break away from their well established image of boring-luxury-Toyota-producers. With that futuristic piece of art they are sure to freshen up next week’s NAIAS in Detroit.

  • Lexus Concept Named LF-LC Sports Coupe

Last week we had more speculations and less facts about the forthcoming Lexus concept which will be revealed on the NAIAS in Detroit in mid January.

Today however we are making progress by having a full view on what Lexus say will be the LF-LC 2+2 Sports Coupe Concept. It’s design, they say, is made from scratch implementing “organic shapes to achieve a close connection between driver and car”.

We certainly like it and if it ends up actually being built as a production vehicle, Lexus will be able to confidently plow ahead in the world of sports cars.
