  • Lexus Presents LF-C2 Luxury Roadster Concept

    Lexus LF-C2 Luxury Roadster Concept

Just hearing the word Lexus tells you what kind of a car you should expect. Precisely, luxurious, reliable, with emotional design and tempting every fiber of your being into buying it. Still though the several obvious unsuccessful attempts of Lexus to create an endurable convertible car (For example, the SC430 which, if we are completely honest, we have to admit that it faded away into oblivion) seem to have prompted the manufacturer into giving it a try once again and working its way to the creation of the Lexus LF-C2 Concept Car.

Debuting at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, the new Lexus LF-C2 concept, a 2+2 roadster design, looks ready for the road. It promises one really exceptional top-down driving experience which, hopefully, will help the car stay among the top vehicles for a long period of time.

The exterior of this beauty has styled edges, planes and curves which enable it to picture a different attitude and appeal when it is observed from different angles and in different lighting conditions. The golden yellow finish of the concept car has been created using a multi-layered paint process which results in projecting a top-of-the-line-product. In addition, the bodylook is completed with triangular LED headlights, indicator lights and vents in the front bumper. The latter transports cooling air to the brakes and help manage airflow to keep the front end stable when driving at high speed. The new Lexus LF-C2 is fitted with five-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels.

The interior offers a spacious cabin with embedded, sporty tone, luxury and a touch of extravaganza all of which fully match the dashing exterior. The dashboard combines a functional simplicity with an appealing and straightforward instrument cluster. There is also a central video monitor controlled by a Remote Touchpad and a classic analogue clock set between the central air vents. The thick, leather-wrapped steering wheel and form-fitting seats add a finishing touch to the attractiveness of the concept car.

  • Lexus Shows the Front and Interior of LF-C2 Concept

Lexus has dropped two more teaser images of the upcoming Lexus LF-C2 Concept which is about to be unveiled today at the Los Angeles Auto Show. This time the company previews the front and part of the interior, the steering wheel, of the convertible concept. As we can see from the front fascia of the car, it looks much like the RC Coupe. There are also large side vents in the front bumper and shiny grille surround in black. Also visible is that the unlike the RC Coupe, the boomerang LED daytime running lights here extend to the headlights and are connected with them.

The second image, not only shows the three-spoke steering wheel with sensor-controls, but also the entirely digital instrument cluster and the touchscreen display, as well as the blue lighting and metallic accents on the center stack.

The teaser image revealed a couple of days ago showed that this is actually the open-air version of the RC Coupe. We can also see the exciting exterior yellow color, the tight windscreen, the elegant rear deck as well as an integrated trunk spoiler. Note also the protruding nose of the car. Two seater or not, this car promises to be exciting.

There are no words on the engine, but at this point but it seems that the car could get RC 300’s 3.5-liter V6 unit with 306 horsepower (225 kW) or RC 350h’s 2.5-liter teamed up with an electric motor. The other option is the V8 5.0-liter engine of the RC F, which generates 467 hp (348 kW) and 527 Nm (389 lb-ft).

Is there any chance for production? Yes. The rumors say that the concept will become a production model in 2016 or 2017. Next to the physical event, the concept will be given a simultaneous on-line global reveal through a 72-hour social media campaign.

  • Lexus LF-C2 Concept Returns to Show Little More

Second teaser of Lexus LF-C2 Concept has been unveiled. The car is going to make its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 19th of November. As you can see, the vehicle will offer an open-air experience, making it a convertible variant of the RC Coupe. Why we are on this opinion? Because the side profile of the model clearly shows similarities between both vehicles.

Next to the physical event, the concept will be given a simultaneous on-line global reveal through a 72-hour social media campaign.

What we can also see from the teaser the exciting exterior yellow color, the tight windscreen of the concept, the elegant rear deck as well as an integrated trunk spoiler. Whether the model will be a two seater, we can’t say for sure, but it surely does look like this. Note also the protruding nose of the car.

There are no words on other details, especially about the engine or additional technical data. But at this point but it seems that the car could get Lexus RC 300’s 3.5-liter V6 unit with 306 horsepower (225 kW) or RC 350h’s 2.5-liter teamed up with an electric motor.

Another option is the V8 5.0-liter engine of the RC F, which generates 467 hp (348 kW) and 527 Nm (389 lb-ft). With this engine, we can expect an acceleration time from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) of 4.4 seconds.

There are rumors that the concept is to become a production model in 2016 or 2017.

  • Eclipse Reveals new Lexus LF-C2 Concept [TEASER]

A beautiful picture of Lexus LF-C2 Concept was just revealed. Unfortunately, what we can clearly see is only the eclipse. The car stays under the veil of darkness and slightly lightened up by the moon. It will be premiered at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 19th of November. Lexus revealed that the new concept model is “open-air” and has kept the other details in secret. Next to the physical event, the concept will be given a simultaneous on-line global reveal through a 72-hour social media campaign.

What we can also see from the teaser picture is that the vehicle has a tight windscreen, a very elegant rear deck as well as an integrated trunk spoiler. Whether the model will be a two seater, we can’t say for sure, but it surely does look like this. Note also the protruding nose of the car.

There is also another question and it is: will this roadster be an updated convertible version of previously shown concept with a hard-top on. Just like the unique LF-LC concept, which we haven’t seen for a while.

As a reminder, Lexus LF-LC Blue Concept is a sports coupe concept in lustrous Opal Blue finish. It combines advanced technologies and materials with an organic design. The car pioneered in the use of lightweight carbon fibre and the next generation of Lexus’s industry-leading full hybrid powertrain. The “marriage” between carbon fibre and aluminium alloy materials used here results in light body mass.

Another advantage is that these details provide great platform for the next generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system – Advanced Lexus Hybrid Drive. It features a new, high-energy battery pack designed to generate greater power from a unit that is smaller than those used in Lexus’s current full hybrid model range. The full petrol-electric system is able to produce a maximum 500 hp (372kW) and this means that this is more power than any other Lexus hybrid.
