  • SEAT Leon Estate receives a recognition at Parkers New Car Awards 2021

2021 Seat LeonSEAT has added one more trophy to its vast collection by winning the “Best Medium Family Car” award with the Leon Estate at the Parkers New Car Awards 2021.

The vehicle has already What Car?’s ‘Family Car of the Year’ accolade as well as Caravan & Motorhome Club’s Tow Car of the Year, and because of its elegance and advanced technologies, now adds an additional prize to its collection.

In a world becoming increasingly overrun by SUVs, it’s easy to assume that they make the best family cars. That’s not always the case – and while excellent estate cars like the SEAT Leon remain on sale, the answer has to be ‘no’, commented Keith Adams, Editor at Parkers.

For one, although it’s sleek and good looking, the Leon Estate’s luggage area is enormous and usable, while there’s ample passenger space for five. Add in some excellent finance deals, high levels of standard kit and sporty handling, and you’re left with a winning formula.

SEAT Leon line-up offers consumers one of the broadest range of choices on the market, two bodystyles (hatch and estate), four engine variants (petrol, mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid and diesel), ranging from 110PS to 204PS, as well as six fully-loaded trims (SE, SE Dynamic, FR, FR Sport, Xcellence and Xcellence Lux) and an extensive range of ten colours means there’s a Leon for everyone, no matter their needs.

The Leon Estate range starts from £22,050 for the SE 1.0 TSI Evo 110PS model, rising to £37,605 for the Xcellence Lux 1.4 e-HYBRID 204PS variant.

Richard Harrison, Managing Director of SEAT UK, said: The SEAT Leon Estate is the prime example of how an SUV is not necessarily the only option for families looking for a spacious interior, and storage capacity. Within a highly competitive market, it is fantastic to see the Leon Estate take the top spot, proving that there is no need to sacrifice the sporty and dynamic driving experience of the Leon for the practicalities of a family car.

  • SEAT reveals first images of new 2020 Leon model!

2020 SEAT LeonNew SEAT Leon has hit the road in the mountains around Barcelona some time ahead of its official arrival at dealers.

Seen on the road for the first time, the latest SEAT Leon vehicle adopts the already known design philosophy of the manufacturer and showcases a confident and elegant stance that hits for its sporty spirit and advanced performance features.

The vehicle builds on the appeal of the predecessor model, but for the new model year showcases stronger and more elegant curves and more pronounced edges. The front-end catches the eye with a strong three-dimensional connection between the grille and headlights. In fact, the LED headlight set is made of 22 individual LED components and gives that appearance, which is instantly recognizable.

The bonnet is slightly longer, compared to older models and contributes to the vehicle’s more elegant design. It also gives more verticality to the front-end and purposeful stance. At the same time, the A-pillars have been moved rearwards in order to elongate the proportions of the front of the Leon, and are more upright, which improves visibility. Neat!

  • Tight, confident and functional, 2017 Leon is heading our way!

2017 SEAT LeonSeat continues to impress media, critics and fans with its latest projects and most recently it caught our eye too. The reason behind this is the new SEAT Leon that will try to become not only the most important, but also the most appealing model that SEAT offers. So, let‘s waste no more time and see whether the new family member is worth the honorable place among older Leon models.

    Exterior styling

    2017 SEAT Leon

SEAT team continues to improve the visuals of its latest models and the new Leon is no exception. The vehicle looks beautiful, confident, mature and even bold.

The face and the rear showcase sharper and more focused lines that contribute to this tight and determined expression. Also, definitely noticeable are the front headlights with this super straight-line design.

The sides continue this idea of minimalism and elegance and are further expressed by the distinctive and exclusive wheels. The rear-end, as said showcases minimal amount of detailing, curves and lines. And honestly, I like it. There is something special in a style concept where artists remove the unnecessary.

    Interior styling

    2017 SEAT Leon

We should mention that this is maybe the quietest Leon cabin ever created. The inside also impresses with neat ambient lightning, 8-inch screen that tries to eliminate the need of buttons and other controls and overall cozy and comfortable atmosphere.

However, the interior does not look that super fascinating or futuristic. It is even… ordinary. And despite the trial of the touch screen technologies, there are numerous buttons, placed on not that beautiful control panel. But maybe the whole idea of the interior concept is to be functional, not that futuristic-looking. Who knows.

There are new engines for this latest model and in SEAT’s own words, these ones are sort of super deal. Here’s why. There are diesel, petrol and compressed natural gas systems. The diesel range is available with a 7-soeed DSG gearbox, while the more powerful petrol units come with TGI and CNG systems. All these bad boys can be specified with five- or six-speed DSG gearboxes and some advanced seven-speed automatic units. Sweet.

    Additional equipment

    2017 SEAT Leon

Seat team has also geared some neat advanced safety and connectivity features. For example, drivers will benefit from Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and Pedestrian Protection System.

We tend to like this vehicle. But tell me, what do you think?

  • Tij-Power Tunes Seat Leon 5F Cupra

Tij-Power-Seat-Leon-5F-Cupra-THUMBTij-Power Seat Leon 5F Cupra is a project that needs our attention. Tij-Power is a tuning company based in Germany, which is very well known for its intensive focus on the Seat Leon. The subtle adjustments and modifications made match perfectly the general setting of this car. In fact, the improvements made appear like a consistent progression. The suspension has been optimized with Plug & Play Coilovers from KW. They feature a rebound and compression stage, which can be set to pre-adjusted settings: Comfort, Sport or Cupra.

These settings can be reached by the DDC system in the cockpit. The Comfort setting delivers almost hover-like feeling, the Sport setting adjusts the steering sensitivity and offers direct feedback of the terrain, while in the Cupra mode, the car evolves to a true racecar.

This modified Seat runs on lightweight OZ Superturismo LM rims in grey finish which come in the size of 8.×19 at the front and 9.5×19 in the rear. They are matched with 235/35-19 tires. Next, this new Cupra was fitted with a tricky exhaust system. Once the pedal hits the floor and the throttle valve is fully opened, the car produces a mighty roar.

This is accompanied by an infernal sound, which escapes from the hand-welded 76 mm exhaust that begins right after the turbo charger. Tij-Power even says that this sound will remind one of racecars

Of course, there will be no full customization without changing engine’s parameters. The tuners substituted stock’s intercooler with performance part from Forge. In addition, thanks to the Tij-Power software, the car now yields the breath-taking 375 horsepower (276 kW) and 489 Nm (361 lb-ft) of torque. These numbers result in a top speed of 290 kilometers per hour.
