At first glance, you might think that there’s nothing out of the ordinary with this compact BMW. You’d even be hard pressed to identify it as an E93 M3, but it is. Not only that, but it has also been through the works of LEIB Engineering – a group of after-market experts based in Germany who have chosen to approach the Bavarian in a very subtle way. Even the wheels were specifically chosen not to impress – 1-series M coupé alloys in sizes 9×19 and 10×19

Of course that elegant discreetness vaporizes once you open the bonnet. The signature orange of the SK II CS compressor system make your eyes bleed. That’s right. LEIB Engineering are working exclusively with G-Power components. In other words, we have a belt ASA T1-523 supercharger, and additional fuel pump, new injector nozzles, colder type of spark plugs and an induction air track made from a blend of carbon fiber and stainless steel. Sports air filters and ECU tweaking also come with the package. What you get then, is a 610 hp V8 with 590 Nm of torque.

There’s a proper sound track as well: a custom made exhaust system which features not only a double 100-cell sports catalytic converter, but also a valve which can be controlled from the steering wheel:

“This allows for the modification of the exhaust sound with a touch of the button, from the sonorous yet non-pervasive rumble up until the virtually unfiltered and ear-splitting V8 roar.” – argue from LEIB

As a final touch, a KW DDC coilover kit has been bolted on and integrated with the M’s iDrive software so that you can fiddle with the settings at any given moment.

  • LEIB Engineering BMW 1-Series M Coupe

LEIB Engineering has announced their latest project based on BMW 1-Series M Coupe. The small and powerful Bavarian car comes with styling and performance upgrades.

The exterior boasts full foil cover in a matte grey into which a chequered plate look and the logos of the companies involved with the project were integrated three-dimensionally by streetworkz customz from Morschwil. There is also a Alpha-N tail diffuser and carbon rear spoiler trunk lid also partially covered with foil. The extended wheel arches of the 1-Series M are filled by 10J x 20” Bavaria BC5 Concave wheels with Yokohama Advan sports tyres 255/30 R20 at the front and 275/30 R20 at the rear axle. Matching the installed Bilstein B16 PSS10 threaded chassis, the single-part light-metal wheel rims are powder-coated in a noticeable baby blue.

The twin-turbocharged 3.0 liter I-6 engine is boosted to 400HP (298 kW) and 560Nm (413 lb-ft) – an increase of 60HP and 60Nm. The result is thanks to an ECU re-map and a Supersprint sports exhaust system. Stage II includes bigger turbochargers, completely revised cooling and exhaust systems. The expected result is more than 500HP (367 kW) and 600Nm (442 lb-ft).

  • Leib Engineering BMW GT 300

After the introducing of the M3 GT 500, Leib Engineering has unveiled the GT 300 variant, which is based on the BMW E92 325i.

The 3.0 liter naturally aspirated I6 is boosted to 295HP (217 kW) thanks to a new intake manifold, sports exhaust system with by Supersprint and an ECU re-map. If, this is not enough with a single push of a button on the M-multifunction steering wheel adds another 15HP.

The exterior boasts a carbon fiber front spoiler, a matte black rear diffuser and a set of BBS CH-R wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires – 8.5J x 19” at the front with 235/35 R19 and 9.5J at the rear with 275/30 R19. Behind the wheels, there is a high-performance braking system with discs that measure 338 mm front and 324 mm rear – six- and two-piston calipers, respectively.

The tuner also installs an adjustable KW coilover suspension for perfect stance and improved handling.

The interior boasts black anodized gear shift paddles for 6-speed automatic models and sticker-bomb tuning for the dashboard, center console and door panels.
