Kia Launches VR7 Line For Picanto, Rio, Cee’d

Kia are planning to introduce a new range for the Picanto, Rio and, cee’d (low-case spelling) models. It’s called the VR7 which sounds sporty but it really isn’t.

All VR7 models should have a high level of standard equipment. That means air conditioning, leathered steering wheel and gear shift knob, Bluetooth connectivity and USB and AUX ports. On the exterior the new trim-line cars will showcase a selection of features usually found on premium models: alloy wheels, reversing seonsrs, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors, and electric windows on all doors.

The Kia Picanto VR7 comes in either a 3- or 5-door version. The latter holds a slightly more powerful 1.0 engine with 84 hp. (the 3-door has 68 hp). Either way, you get an entirely comprehensive automotive package complete with things such as ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (ESB), Brake-Assist System (BAS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), six airbags and Hill-start Assist control (HAC).

The Kia Rio VR7 models are again in either 3- or 5-door shells. The 3-door Rio VR7 comes only with a 1.25-liter 84 hp engine and a 5-speed manual. All the while, the 5-door can have the same engine or a 1.1 CRDi diesel with 98 hp and a 6-speed manual ISG transmission. All the Rio models boast color-oriented bumpers, exterior door handles and door mirrors. Needless to say, ESC, VSM, HAC and Anti-theft Alarm System are again included.

Finally, the cee’d VR7 family. Weather you’re going to go with a pro_cee’d, a 3-door cee’d, a 5-door cee’d or a cee’d Sport Wagon, you will always end up with a 1.4 engine. All but one have the same power output: 98 hp. The one exception is the cee’d CRDi engine which develops 89 hp. All cee’ds have a 6-speed manual and all have a great bundle of standard extras: a rear spoiler, projection headlights, front fog lights and daytime running lights.

Kia Pro_cee’d GT Cabrio Drawing Takes Over The Web

A drawing of a topless version of the Kia Pro_cee’d GT has been circulating around the web thus provoking many questions to be posed. Since officials at Kia said that, there have been numerous rumours that the Korean brand would indeed enter a cabrio into the market, this particular image made big discussions all over the Internet. However, the promise Kia has made is still unrealized.

These facts also inspire car enthusiasts and designers to create a picture of what a Kia cabrio GT might look like, and this is how the image above has been born. This particular Kia Pro-cee’d GT Cabrio concept drawing is of course only speculation. Nevertheless it brings about the thought that such a model would not be out of the realm of possibility.

Given that Kia has recently revealed their decision to expand the GT model range, the convertible version of the car would fit in very nicely with Kia’s current GT family. And to go even further into the realm of imagination, if we can guess what kind of engine will be used for such model, it would probably be the 204 horsepower (150 kW) 1.6L four-cylinder petrol unit fitted with a twin-scroll turbocharger.

The only thing left is just to have the expectation that we could have the happiness of seeing such GT Cabrio in the showrooms by the end of 2015.

Teaser: 2013 Kia pro_cee’d GT

Kia has just exclusively released the first teaser image of their new and aerodynamically empowered Kia pro_cee’d GT. The model will make its official launch in the second half of next year, exuding thirst for speed and adventures.

It is visible that the hot hatch is perfectly aligned with Kia’s sportiness and “fun to drive” positioning. The model of course is based on the all-new pro_cee’d which had its global debut at the Paris Motor Show earlier this year.

The pro_cee’d wiil to go on sale next year, however earlier than the GT model – in the spring. Unfortunately, there’s scarce information around the technical details and specification of the latter. All we know so far is that the 2013 pro_cee’d GT will include the 1.6-litre turbocharged GDI engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

2013 Kia pro_cee’d With World Premiere

2013 Kia pro_cee’d will make its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show which will take place on 27th of September. This model is actually the third installment of the second-generation cee’d family.

The all-new pro_cee’d will debut as a three-door hatchback, and is expected to be available at dealerships in the Spring of 2013. In addition, the sophisticated new Kia includes all the enhancements made to the cee’d five-door and cee’d Sportswagon.

However, it dramatically adds enhanced sporty appearance and more powerful stance. In few words, this car embodies emotion and energy. Kia offers a distinctive design adventure and the new pro-cee’d will embark upon this journey.
