On 3rd of March Kia will reveal a mysterious stylish new concept vehicle at the 85th Salon International de l’Automobile or the so called Geneva Motor Show. The company announced that the car will be a D-segment model, which is actually the 11th concept car created by Kia’s European design studio in Frankfurt, Germany. As we can see it has a sporty “nose” and is painted in red color that suggests activity and dynamism.
The concept is definitely created for those looking for the perfect vehicle that complements their active lifestyle. Kia also said that the concept is spacious and filled with versatile accessories.
You can also see that the car has confident and powerful lines. They elegantly sweep from Kia’s hallmark ‘tiger-nose’ grille towards the rear of the vehicle.
And if you take a closer look at the teaser image, you’ll be definitely confused, whether you are seeing Kia’s new concept or the Optima model. This is probably a clear sign that the car will be based on it, but will carry with sharper looks and more sporting.
Some of the other details of the concept that need attention are the vents in the wings and sleek look of the side profile. The concept embodies modern design and dramatic energy. It is purposeful and style-conscious, and it seems as it can deliver a sanctuary from the stresses of the modern world.
It is rumored that there will also be a production version of this concept which is expected to be shown at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Kia will also offer several engine choices including a plug-in hybrid option.
The Kia info-trickling continues. We now know that the super-awesome concept – set to premiere at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in less then 15 days – is called the GT4 Stinger. A rather American sounding name.
That’s because it is largely American. After all, the designs were drawn up by the team in Kia’s American Design Center in California. What you see here on this picture is the brand’s signature “Tiger Nose”. Introduced first with the Kia Kee concept back in 2007, that grille has been with us ever since, and while we can’t really see a tiger in there, we admire their imaginative approach. Those whiskers(?) of light are flanked by vertical LED headlamps. There are vents in-between to channel air to a pair of 20-inch wheels, so that’s new information, right?
Oh, and behind that grille, there lays a 2.0-liter engine that hurls 315 hp towards the back wheels.
More info before the official reveal should become available so stay tuned.
The first image (sort of) of an upcoming unnamed Kia concept is here, and we are feeling curious.
What is it?
All we know is that we are talking about a “stunning” 2+2 sports car designed at Kia’s Irvine, California-based studio. Hey, at least its not another compact SUV nonsense. Also, it kind of looks like a baby Veyron.
Is it going to gold-plated or what?
We highly doubt it, but if it is, may we suggest calling it the “Calf“? Don’t want to get too biblical here, but if it does turn out to be something ridiculously expensive and luxurious, it will be a type of heresy against the Kia way. That is, cheap, affordable and sensible. Then again, we’d like to see what happens when they flex their muscles.
We have nothing else, really. Kia promises full disclosure at the North American International Auto Show where this thing will make its world debut. Detroit it is then.
Kia has published several images of the Niro Compact Crossover Concept, which will be introduced to the audience at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Kia Niro hints at a possible future B-segment contender ready to take on the urban environment with style and tenacity, and will preview an innovative new powertrain when it is revealed on September 10. The car was designed at Kia’s Frankfurt design studio – less than a kilometre away from the IAA – under the direction of Gregory Guillaume, Chief Designer Europe.
Niro combines a mischievous character in a clearly robust and substantial yet stylish bodyshape featuring a mix of contrasting materials – including stainless steel elements – in compact, purposeful dimensions.
Born out of Kia’s determination to seek new compact-car options for the individualistic and demanding driver for whom size is an issue, Niro features intriguing elements not always associated with smaller cars and has been created in Europe with European tastes and expectations very much in mind.
Kia will present its latest Concept Car at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
The provocative and racy new urban concept car has the company’s signature tiger-nose morphing into a mischievous yet friendly grille and headlight arrangement, coupled with strong styling lines that exude speed and energy from every angle.
The new Concept by Kia definitely will catch the eyes of the visitors.
Still, no information about performance or engines are available.
However, it could turn out to be a preview concept of a future Nissan Juke rival.
The Kia Track’ster concept is out of the box. Attenders at the Chicago Auto Show yesterday had the privilege to witness the rather dramatic revealing. And now when the Track’ster is open to the public, we do are not sure from where to start.
Although it is based on the current Soul, in essence it is an entirely different car. The Track’ster is simply exciting to look at thanks to those air-gulping, carbon grille installations across the front and the massive auxiliary LED lights that complement them. The headlights themselves are impressive enough with that flowing figure that seems to be reaching for the fenders. And can you not notice the color of the whole thing? It’s white and orange as if it’s a pair of trainers – The roof and lower front, side and back valances are in, what Kia calls, an ‘inferno’ shade. That burning hue can be noticed as a motive also on the mirrors and at the front air-scooping slit and inside. To do the honor of the overall sculptured body lines of the Track’ster, Kia have fitted four HRE-K1 monoblock billet performance wheels. Ideal tires would be 245/40-19-inch for the front wheels and a stunningly wide and low pair of 285/35-19′s at the back.
More features that set the Track’ster apart from the Soul include the dimensions – 101.2-inches of wheelbase length make the concept almost an inch longer than its production parent. And most certainly, the 14-inchBrembo vented and cross-drilled brake discs at the front and 13.6-inch ones at the back, gripped by six and four-piston calipers respectively, do not come as standard on a Soul but they are present in Track’ster. Such suspension attention on a concept car seems redundant but when we realize that the Track’ster hides a 2.0-liter, straight four turbocharged power plant that develops 250 hp things start to make sense. What also makes sense is the power being channeled trough an electronically controlled four-wheel-drive system in order to prevent any torquesteer, understeer or oversteer tendencies. The transmission is a six-speed, short-ratio manual controlled by a stubby gear stick found on the center console (naturally).
Speaking of the center console, the inside of the car is certainly a place where we or any other car enthusiast might like to spend a great deal of time. The two bucket seats at the front are dressed in gray and orange (inferno) leather. The dashboard, door panels and center console have the same motives with added white patterns. There are standalone gauges on top of the dashboard that indicate things like oil pressure, temperature and battery voltage. Just bellow is a touch-screen interface which deals with the navigation, ventilation and entertainment system. The start button on the other hand, might just be the most exciting feature of all (for a 10 year old).
A part of the Track’ster‘s “street” appeal is lost when we look at the back where, on a normal Soul, one would find rear seats. The Track’ster however stands by its name and occupies the rear space with a section for tools, a sport’s gear compartment, a place for a spare tire and other track-friendly items. It all sounds like a car enthusiast’s dream really. Except one problem – Kia are not thinking of actually making it. It is said that the Track’ster is more of a test for the company’s engineers and their creativity and ability to make perfect, road going, performance superminis. Point taken.
Kia has released first image (teaser) of the new Track’ster Concept car, which will make its official debut at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. The vehicle is created by California Design Studio.
The concept car boasts LED taillights and aggressive dual exhaust system.
There are no further details about the car or its engine, but probably it will share the Veloster’s 1.6 liter turbocharged petrol with 211PS (155 kW) and 265Nm (196 lb-ft).
Full details and additional photography will be released on Wednesday 8th February. A design sketch was released on Thursday 2nd February.
Kia will exhibit a new powerful and dynamic four-door sports sedan concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The interesting about the vehicle is that it comes with RWD… finally.
The Concept also features distinctive new design, sleek and muscular proportions with a sophisticated and elegant four-seater cockpit.
Kia will also bring the all-new Rio and a facelift version of the Kia Soul at the IAA Frankfurt, so there will be plenty to see at the stand in Hall 3.1, booth A21.
“No matter from which perspective you look at it – this concept car is roaring with energy and ready for take-off,” commented Peter Schreyer, Kia Motors Chief Design Officer, proudly.
“I believe the car is a strong statement from Kia: we are ready to fast forward to an all new chapter.”, he finished.
KIA will stun everybody with the introducing of Naimo electric concept car at the Seoul Motor Show today. The car combines Korean heritage with innovative modern features.
The name is taken from the Koren word “Ne-mo”, which means “square shape”. Kia Naimo is an electric crossover utility vehicle (CUV).
The car has a lot of staggering details like wrap-around windscreen and asymmetric sunroof, and the front and rear dot-style LED head- and positioning-lamps. When you combine all that, you have Naimo.
“Naimo is a perfect balance of innovation, high-tech and Korean tradition. It was heavily inspired by the purity and grace of traditional Korean arts and crafts, but combines this with cutting edge technologies to deliver a truly premium experience,” said Kia Motors’ Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer.
Naimo measures 3 890 mm in length, 2 647 mm wheelbase, 1 844 mm in width and 1 589 mm in height. The interior room is more than enough for the occupants.
KIA Naimo is powered by a 109PS (80 kW) and 280Nm of torque coming from a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. The top speed is 150 km/h (93 mph). The motor is supplied by a twin-pack 27 kWh battery, which is located under the boot floor and uses innovative Lithium Ion Polymer technology. The electric vehicle can go up to 200 km (124 miles). To enhance range, the showcar is fitted with special low-drag 20-inch diameter alloy wheels.
Under the quick recharging cycle (50 kW) the Naimo’s battery can be recharged to 80% of its capacity just within 25 minutes. Under the normal cycle (3.3 kW), 100 percent power is attained after five and a half hours.
KIA Naimo is just amazing car and we can’t wait to see, whether it will go in production.
