  • Piecha Design And JMS Introduce Upgrade for Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212

JMS-Piecha-Mercedes-Benz-E-Class-GT-R-shadowJMS-Piecha-Mercedes-Benz-E-Class-GT-R-mediumA joint project between Piecha Design and JMS results in this Mercedes-Benz E-Class. It’s called the “E-Class GT-R” and it’s base is the pre-facelift W212 models.

What we have at hand here is a kit that comprises of a front piece with very design-specific “flicks” which accentuate the LED daytime running lights. Then there are the side skirts which are even compatible with the E63 AMG model. Last but not least: a Piecha rear port diffuser that can still accommodate the stock tow-bar (if necessary). For the AMG rear bumper, however, a different diffuser is available that fits all models until 04/2013. It comes complemented with double tailpipes in “rectangular trapezoidal” design.

As an option, Piecha are also offering a lowering module that overrides Mercedes’ Airmatic suspension and thus the user can set specific hights on both of the tracks. A power converter for a slight jolt in the engine bay is also available, but no words on the actual performance boost. The wheel selection includes 19-inch Piecha MP1s, MP2-Le-Mans, and the MP3-Dynamics

  • JMS Tune Up for Mercedes-Benz W176

JMS-Mercedes-Benz-W176-A-Class-shadowJMS-Mercedes-Benz-W176-A-Class-mediumSeen enough of JMS‘s minimalistic approach to aftermarket customization? Well, too bad. Here’s a Mercedes-Benz W176 – or, in other words, the latest A-Class – with a slight visual upgrade.

JMS are calling it a kit but we are not so sure about that. It’s just one piece really. A front lip spoiler with an “integrated central diffuser”. You can bolt and glue that thing on the stock bumper A-Class for just 289 Euros ($394). Oh, and it doesn’t fit the AMG variants.

Will you gain something in terms of performance? Is it a hotfix to a known Mercedes aerodynamic glitch? Not likely. But hey, if you find yourself with some spare cash, why not? Might as well throw some more money at it and get the other available JMS parts. That is, alloy wheels, suspension kits speedpedal, chiptuning and exhaust kits. At least then your W176 will really stand out.

Either way, JMS, step up your game. We demand excitement… please.

  • JMS Upgrades For The Common Volkswagen Golf VII

JMS-Volkswagen-Golf-VII-shadowJMS-Volkswagen-Golf-VII-mediumThose of you that are stuck with a Golf VII that’s not a GTI or an R will be pleased to know that JMS has this small enhancement pack which might bridge the commons with the performers. Maybe.

It certainly doesn’t sound glamarous. The pack employs a frontlip spoiler “with an integrated diffuser” that is supposed to be screwed and glued on the stock bumper – quite DIY if you as us. There’s also a color-coded diffuser at the back, which again – we suspect – has to be bolted onto the stock rear.

There is, however, the presence of a menacing-looking stainless steel exhaust system with two beautifully rounded 90 mm pipes. You may have also noticed that they sit quite close to the ground. That’s because the Germans at JMS have installed a KW coilover suspension kit which lowers the Golf with 50 mm at the back and 45 mm at the front.

To round things up (no pun intended), JMS have also thrown in four Italian made 1-piece OZ-Racing wheels. The ultralaggeras (super lights) are 8×19 big and wear 225/350-19 tires.

  • JMS Opel Astra J GTC Coupe Shows Exclusive Styling

JMS-Opel-Astra-J-GTC-THUMBJMS Opel Astra J GTC Coupe is now in the form of a real vehicle after the design concept that the tuning team from JMS has done few months ago. The specialists have eventually built the first example featuring a new tuning kit.

The latter comprises of new front lip spoiler with integrated diffuser, which fits easily with glue and screws onto the series front bumper. This one in turn is only a few centimeters deeper than the original bumper, and this means that side skirts and rear apron aren’t needed anymore.

For better driving performance JMS included a KW V1 inox coil over kit with 50mm lowering at the front and 40mm at the back. At last but not least, the perfect visual characteristics of this Opel are due to the Schmidt Gotham shadow green wheels with 245/35-20 tyres.

There is a set of of one-piece OZ Racing Ultraleggera wheels with a matte black finish. The dimensions are 8.5J x 20” with 255/35 R20 tires. The price including rubbers is €3,599. A bit pricey, but definitely looks good.

  • Audi A4 B8 by JMS

    JMS-Audi-A4-thumbJMS-Audi-A4-medium

JMS don’t usually go over the top. Maybe they do put a bumper here and there, throw in some big wheels and a lowering suspension kit but that’s about it. This time though, they have taken home an Audi A4 B8 (2008-2011) and have went… again quite subtle with it actually.

There’s a glued/screwed lip spoiler at the front (S-line excluded) and an apron at the back which has two housings for the left and right exhaust system. That’s right, a stainless steel duplex Eisenmann exhaust system with 4 oval tips – sound and fury. If we don’t consider the KW coilover kit, the added parts lower the car by just 10 mm at the front and 20 mm at the back.

Nevertheless, we do get a version 3 KW kit which has the capability to lower the Audi by up to 50 mm at the front and 40 mm at the back. That lower stance will most probably complement the four 8,5 x 20 Ghost wheels wrapped around with 245/30 at the front and 245/20 tires.

So it sounds like much work, but looking at the JMS Audi A4 (looking at it’s subtlety) one can’t really notice.

  • JMS BMW 5 Series E60/61

JMS-BMW-5-E61-thumbJMS is the kind of house in which you go if you have a sports sedan that has recently started to ware (appeal wise). There you state your unexplainable desire to obtain some flare and before you know it, you end up with something like this or this.

The E60 BMW 5-series went out of production two years ago but there are still plenty around. Most probably not the best-looking design piece but definitely a keeper as a whole. JMS can now offer you a front apron for the BMW E60 or the estate E61 (provided that they have both been originally equipped with an M-technic bumper). Then to make the sporty look even more prominent, a KW stainless steel coil over kit version 3 has been fitted so the whole car sits lower by 60 mm at the front and by 45 mm at the back. To round up this modest programme, JMS have also thrown in four ASA AR1 wheels that size up to 10.5×20-inches. The tires on them measure at 245/30/20 at the front and 285/25/20 at the back.

All things combined will set you back with around 5,230 Euros or $6,341. The final check could go even higher as JMS are offering a ton of other tempting upgrades indipendantly – from engine tweaks to carpets, it’s your call.

  • An Audi A6 by JMS

JMS-Audi-A6-Typ-4F-thumbA yet another Audi with non-existent wheel housings. This one though is more subtle. It gets even more subtler when you look at the list of upgrades but hey, we rarely get news from JMS so we’ll cherish what we have.

The program is intended for the A6 – the old one – Typ 4F (it’s not even facelifted). There’s a JMS apron for it available and a front lip spoiler (fits on all 4Fs excluding the S-line). The main feature here however, is the KW stainless steel coilover kit version 1 – responsible for the lowering which can be up to 60 mm on the front axle and 50 mm at the back. Or maybe the most noticeable features here are the wheels? Oxigen 9,5×20 front and back – very flare-y

And there you have it – a JMS Audi A6. What do you think?

  • JMS Opel Insignia

JMS-Opel-Insignia-thumbIn search for an executive saloon but tired of BMWs or Audis and Mercedeses? They are the usual choice but one can never get hurt from trying something different. Oh Look! Here’s an Opel Insignia… and it’s been tweaked by German motoring specialists JMS. It’s a starter project with more options due to come. I basically depends on the customer.

What you do get however, is a KW coilover version 3 inox for a suspension. That will set you back $2,226. Because of it, the Insignia will be lower than usual – specifically, 55mm lower at the front and 45mm at the back. For a more modest sum of $315 you’ll also get a JMS racelook apron which you can screw on the standard front bumper and apply…glue, apparently.

By far the most expensive feature on this Insignia are the 9×20 AR1 Race wheels wrapped in 245/35R20 tires. All four of them cost $3,423.

More exterior enhancements and exhaust pipes can be ordered upon request for an overall complete look.
