Volkswagen has introduced the 2012 Jetta GLI, which actually goes on sale later this year. It features modified bumpers, a honeycomb grille, smoked taillights, a dual exhaust system, and 17″ alloy wheels.
There will be three trim levels. However, the base trim level comes with sport seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, aluminum trim, and alloy pedals. (more…)
Volkswagen has announced the price list for the new 2011 Jetta EU. The entry-level S 1.4-litre TSI 122 PS is priced at £16 960 and the 2.0-litre TDI with DSG will cost you £22 320.
However, all cars come with air conditioning, an MP3 compatible CD stereo, six airbags, ABS, Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP), an alarm and folding rear seats as standard.
The engine range includes 1.4 litre TSI with either 122PS or 140PS and two diesel versions – 1.6 litre TDI with 105PS and 2.0 litre TDI with 140PS. (more…)
ABT now offers a new package of performance upgrades for the 1.2TSI, 1.4TSI and 1.6TDI engines.
The 1.2 liter TSI with 105PS (77kW), which powers VW Polo, Golf and Scirocco models, and Seat Ibiza, too. The performance package adds 35PS (26kW).
The more powerful 1.4 liter TSI with 122PS (90kW) can be boosted to 160PS (118kW), which is an improvement of 38PS (28kW). This engine can be found in A3 and Jetta. (more…)
Great news from Volkswagen! The company has introduced the European edition of 2011 Jetta, which was launched earlier this year in the USA. The European edition boats better interior trim options and some additional engine choices.
The entry level of 2011 Jetta EU comes with 1.2 liter TSI with 105PS (77kW), followed by 1.4TSI with either 122PS (90 kW) or 160PS (118kW). The top-of-range 2.0 liter TSI version delivers 200PS (147kW).
The diesel variants are a 1.6 liter TDI with 105 PS (77 kW) and a 2.0 liter TDI with 140 PS (103 kW). (more…)

Four Volkswagen models at once were awarded the best grade of “top safety pick” in the most recent publication of the independent US safety institute, “Insurance Institute for Highway Safety”. The models Golf, Jetta, Passat and Eos each earned the best evaluation in their respective categories, thus winning the renowned prize for themselves. Together with this same outstanding safety award presented to the Tiguan in August, these new awards place Volkswagen among the car manufacturers with the most top safety picks. (more…)

Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced that buyers of the Jetta TDI sedan and SportWagen are eligible for a $1,300 Federal Income Tax Credit.
