  • Jaguar reveals details for the new XE Sport Sedan machine

    Exterior design

    2020 Jaguar XE catches the eye with a sharper and more aggressive stance. The vehicle comes with a redesigned front-end, which features a new bumper and a wider grille for more planted appearance. There’s also a new rear bumper and rear valance, which increases visual width and highlights model’s sporty character.

    What makes this model special, is the addition of aircraft winglet-inspired sculpted surfaces in the lower front apertures and the standard Premium LED headlights that feature a fresh, distinctive “J” Blade daytime running light signature with laser-etched Jaguar monogram pattern.

    New Jaguar XE Sport Sedan features a revised interior design with attention to detail and benefitting from premium components and materials.

    There’s new optional inControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system and a 12.3-inch interactive driver display, which provides a customizable and intuitive responsive human-machine interface. Along with these goodies, XE features a SportShift gear sector and JaguarDrive Control toggle switch, inspired by the F-TYPE lineup. This gadget eliminates the rotary control gear selector. Sweet!

    Drivetrain system

    As one would have expected, new Jaguar XE machine features an advanced and refined drivetrain system that defines the brand and the sporty spirit within every Jaguar machine.

    There’s not one, but two four-cylinder Ingenium gasoline engines available, producing 247hp and 296hp accordingly. The second one, the high performance 296hp Ingenium engine is paired with an AWD system that altogether ensure a quick run from 0 to 100km/h in mere 5.4 seconds.

    Of course, buyers will benefit from SportShift gear selector, which replaces the rotary controller and delivers more dynamic driving experience. There’s also an Adaptive and Configurable Dynamics, which provide optimal balance between comfort and control and JaguarDrive Control, which ensures four selectable driving modes – Comfort, Eco Rain/Ice/Snow and Dynamic.

    Additional technology

    InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system and 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display goodies are no available and provide a customizable, intuitive and responsive human-machine interface.     At the same time, the “Smart Settings” technology uses artificial intelligence to learn the preferences of individual drivers and adjust seat, mirror, audio and climate setting automatically.   • 2015 Jaguar XE Wins Diesel Magazine Award

    Jaguar XE has won the prestigious award Best Large Car in 2015 Diesel Car Magazine Awards. The prestigious vehicle had to deal with rough path and serious competitors as the BMW 3 Series and Ford Mondeo. However, Jaguar XE now stands proudly with its first place award. Let’s see what happened.

    The judges chose the Jaguar because of the compettitive pricing, wonderful looks, cozy interior and low CO2 emissions.  Ian Rober, Diesel Car Editor says, that it is thrilling and interesting to see how a Jaguar vehicle beats Germans in their own game.

    In fact, the Jaguar XE is the one car in its class, that includes lightweight aluminum material, that, combined with the high-performance, yet efficient Ingenium diesel engine delivers just 78mpg and 99g/km CO2.

  • Idris Elba Tests Jaguar XE’s Technology and Economical Credentials [VIDEO]

    It’s a driver-focused car! It is the car injected with sophistication, dynamism and spectacular strength! It is the ultimate car! This is the Jaguar XE! On this very day, the automaker showed the final film consisting of several short videos which documented Idris Elba’s epic road trip from London to Berlin in this impressive vehicle.

    Firstly, the journey begins with XE powered by 2.0-litre i4 diesel which delivers 163 PS (120 kW). Driving this great car, the actor tried to push its eminent technology and economical credentials to the very limit by covering 750 miles (1200 km). Despite the fact that the road trip took Elba through challenging winter weather conditions in Europe, the real world car turned out to be… well, a real world car. Still achieving 65 mpg, the fitted with winter tires sedan proved to be a head-turner!

    Idris also drove a Jaguar XE S with the racing legend Martin Brundle at Spa Francorchamps racing circuit in Belgium. The XE S is powered by a 3.0-litre petrol power unit which is capable of delivering 340 PS (250 kW).

    750 Miles (1200 KM) and three days later, Idris arrived at a glamorous Jaguar party at Berlin’s Umspannwerk where the Berlin launch of the XE was celebrated.     It is powered by the all-new 2.0-litre 163PS Ingenium diesel engine, with the mega law CO2 emissions of 99g/km. XE also has lower Vehicle Excise Duty and has better fuel economy.

    CAP predicts that over a period of time of three years or 30,000 miles, the XE will be able to preserve 45% of its value. As a result, this will put the Jaguar far ahead of other models from BMW and Audi.

    Finally, because of its qualities, XE is said to save customers thousands of pounds in ownership expenses compared to the established competition.

    The world premiere of the new Jaguar XE took place at London. Now, Jaguar is announcing that the car will also be built around aluminum-intensive construction. The new modular architecture was developed around the fifth-generation of bonded and riveted aluminum technology. This technology results not only in the lightweight of the car, but also delivers strength and rigidity to its body.

    As a matter of fact the lightweight aluminum accounts for 75 percent of XE’s structure. This lightweight construction is one of the key elements in the design of Jaguar. For instance, around such are built the Jaguar XJ, XK and F-TYPE. They have all been developed with the utilization of the stiff bonded and riveted aluminum structures.

    Another interesting fact around this technology is that it is aerospace-inspired. It is light and strong and has the capability of offering exceptional torsional stiffness. In addition, it will incorporate advanced suspension systems. What is more, the new XE model will sport world class driving dynamics – with supple ride and precise handling.

  • 2015 Jaguar XE coming out in September

    The 2015 Jaguar XE has been in the news for quite some time but until now no official release date has been mentioned. Well, we now know that the new vehicle will debut on September 8 this year.

    In addition to the official release date Jaguar has treated fans and media-related people with some more details on the new car. The 2015 Jaguar XE will come out with an “aluminum-intensive architecture” that sports integral link rear suspension forged or hollow-cast from aluminum too. The construction is said to deliver “sharp response and handling while retaining a refined, luxurious ride”. The front suspension is a bit different though – it is based on the Jaguar F-Type with a double wishbone setup and XFR levels of stiffness thanks to changes in a few components. Jaguar again promises “agility and connected steering wheel” thanks to the integrated latest generation of electric power steering – a first for the company. The car will also come with “all surface progress control” that improves the Jaguar XE handling in difficult and slippery conditions.

    As to engines the new Jaguar XE will offer a shiny new family of lightweight and turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. The so-called “Ingenium” line of engines that will be included in the new vehicle are some 80 kilograms lighter than the previous JLR units and will also include a 2.0-liter diesel engine. In addition the engines that will be used in the new XE line are built around 500cc cylinders, which means that Jaguar is likely to offer a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine as well as some more powerful 3.0-liter straight-six units.

    There’s no word on the pricing of the new 2015 Jaguar XE but like we said the car will come out in less than two months time so we will have more information on the price by then for sure.

  • Jaguar Reveals First Image Of Production 2015 XE

The production version of the sedan is going to make a public debut at Paris Motor Show later this year. Jaguar confirmed that the car will be available on the market in mid-2015. In addition, the company is also planning to show more images of the car made in the same manner. The first picture shows how the XE is wrapped with a foil which perfectly displays what is under the bodywork.

    In other words, via the “see-through camouflage” we can witness aluminum monocoque and other internal structures. The aluminum structure is called by the luxury company iQ[Al] and will be also utilized for other vehicles.

    We can also see from the picture that the XE is similar to the XF and has an aggressive front fascia, rectangular grille with thin headlights as well as large rearview mirrors and wide wheel-arches. The car will be driven by the Ingenium 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel and petrol engines, and by the 3.0-liter supercharged V6.

    The powertrains will be installed in transverse or inline configurations. This will depend on the rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive that the car will come with. Although several markets will have the new XE available in mid-2015, North America will receive it in 2016.

    Jaguar-XE-THUMBJaguar XE is the production name of brand’s new premium Sports Sedan which will be equipped with the ‘Ingenium’ engine family and will sport an advanced aluminium construction. The engine family comprises of premium, lightweight, low-friction, low emission four-cylinder petrol and diesel units and the first the Ingenium range will be utilized in the mid-sized Jaguar XE.

    The car will be unveiled later this year, and for now we have to satisfy our curiosity with the image of the front of the XE, which Jaguar released alongside the news. In addition, the models will also be the first product from the new advanced aluminium architecture. The latter was shown in the C-X17 concept car.

    XE’s global production will start in 2015. The car will bring about more lightness and stiffness for unbeatable handling, performance, refinement and efficiency. Or to say it differently, in this car, the engine and aluminium chassis complement each other perfectly.

    Engine’s design will be suited for rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. In addition, they will be both efficient and powerful. Jaguar promises to offer a top speeds for the XE of over 300km/h (186mph), and emissions lower than 100g of CO2 per km.

    Jaguar XE is positioned alongside the XF and XJ saloons in the range. XE technical and range details will be unveiled later this year.
