  • Infiniti presents limited models at the New York Show pt.2

    2018 INFINITI QX80 LIMITEDAs you might have remembered from part 1 of this review, we are looking what is happening in the INFINITI camp at the New York show. By far we have revealed the new QX60 LIMITED and we are quite happy with the final result. And now it is time to check out the bigger one – QX80 LIMITED.

    Exterior and interior styling

    2018 INFINITI QX80 LIMITED

    This is a modern interpretation of a luxurious vehicle and combines high-quality components, hand-crafted stuff and impeccable sense of elegance. The exterior features dark machine-finished 22-inch forged aluminum wheels, stainless steel running boards with rubber grips, branded welcome lightning and satin chrome exterior trim. Of course, these well-known curves and lines are still present, all along with the massive and muscular stance. Sweet. In terms of interior, QX80 LIMITED is available with two-tone semi-ailine leather/alcantara-covered seats, leather-covered steering wheel, matte silver open-pore Ash wood trim and black Ultrasuede headliner and pillars. Cool.

    Drivetrain system

    2018 INFINITI QX80 LIMITED

    2019 LIMITED edition is geared with a standard (and pretty massive) 400hp 5.6-liter V8 unit, mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. All this works in perfect harmony with the INFINITI all-mode 4wd and Hydraulic Body Motion systems and gives driver and passengers feel of comfort, safety and control. Also, all INFINITI QX80 machines are geared with extended list of technical stuff in order to improve the overall driving experience Such are the driver-assistance features that include Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Cruise Control, Distance Control Assist, Predictive Forward Collision Warning and many more.

    In fact, INIFITI team has also included the Smart Rear View Mirror as part of the standard equipment. This gadget allows driver to use the rear-view mirror as a usual mirror or to turn it into a monitor with the aid of a single switch. By doing so, driver will be able to see behind the vehicle even when the rear window is blocked by cargo or passengers. Cool, isn’t it?

    2019 INFINITI QX60 LIMITEDINIFINITI team is about to unveil two exclusive models: 2019 INFINITI QX60 LIMITED and 2019 INFINITI QX80 LIMITED. These sweethearts will be showcased at the New York International Auto Show and would showcase how INFINITI team has managed to maintain its positions as one of the leading manufacturers in the segment. So, in this first part of the review we will see what the 2019 QX60 LIMITED has to offer, shall we?

    Luxurious and versatile

    2019 INFINITI QX60 LIMITED

    The QX60 is one of the best-selling SUVs and there is a fine reason for that: team’s dedication of constant improvement and unmistakable sense of quality and pleasure. And just as its predecessors, the 2019 Q60 features tons of features that would attract both fans and sceptics.

    The vehicle comes with new revised dark chrome front grille, refreshed fog lamp finishers and door moldings. What would also catch the eye of the New York International Auto Show audience are the added dark premium-paint roof rails and cross bars, along with “LIMITED” emblems and notable 20-inch dark aluminum-alloy wheels, mounted with 235/55R-20 all-season tires.

    The interior will try to please driver and passengers with luxurious features as leather-wrapped grab handles, dark silver wood accents, black headliner and pillars, Stone-colored semi-aniline leather seats with special quilting, stitching and piping for all the three rolls. The cabin is voluminous and features numerous utility goodies that would please even the most demanding passengers – QX60 LIMITED offers ample legroom and easy access even for the third row and even with a child safety seat installed.

By far what we know about the power engine is that it is a massive 3.5-liter V6 unit that produces a total of 295hp and 270lb-ft of torque.

    INFINITI’s VC-Turbo variable compression power unit gets Grand Austrian Automobile Award in the category “Environment” given by Automobile, Motor and Bicycle Association of Austria (ARBÖ). Honored for setting new standards and new benchmark in the field of efficiency and technology, INFINITI was also recognized as the star of the show.

    The experts of the automobile club have also honored the premium automobile brand for introducing the world the first production-ready engine with variable compression. This time the organization decided to undertake a different approach towards awards and showcased INFINITI’s latest project as one of the boldest at the moment.

    As it comes to the system itself, INFINITI’s specialists have worked about 20 years in order to deliver us the VC-Turbo unit. There were more than one hundred prototypes, but thanks to the recently discovered multi-link system the engine really shined. It is able to adapt the travel of the piston’s stroke and delivers a compression ratio between 8:1 and 14:1.

    These numbers result on something else: the power output of this V6 and its efficiency are much closer to a diesel engine, rather to a petrol one. In fact, the 2.0-liter unit delivers a total of 268hp (200kW) and 390Nm of torque. Massive, isn’t it? But the best part is that it consumption and efficiency rates are super close to the V6 gasoline power units. How cool is that?

    2017 Infiniti Q60 InTouchInfiniti team announces some more details for the latest InTouch services that will be available with the latest Q60 sports coupe. Soon available on the European market, the new infotainment goodie will not only try to ensure the leading positions of the brand, but will also make everything possible to reach new heights in terms of functionality and comfort. In recent future we will be taking much about vehicle’s performance rates and capabilities, so we decided to have a closer look to the secondary systems right now.

    Faster and more powerful, the Infiniti InTouch system will be capable of managing over 250 customizable settings that directly result on engine behavior, suspension tunings and steering preferences.     INFINITI team will presents the Variable Compression-Turbocharged power unit at the 2016 Paris Motor Show on September 29. What is interesting about this thing is that the engineering team claims that there have been decades of researches and experiments before finally get satisfying results. Incredible, right?

    The VC-T technology is expected to mark a new chapter in the making of internal combustion power units: what it does is to remove the fixed compression ratio. The innovation lies in the ability to transform and raise and lower the height of the pistons reach. Technically (and at this moment theoretically) this means that the compression ratio can vary between 8:1 (for more aggressive driving) and 14:1 (for smoother and more efficient ride). At the moment, what is known is that all the changes will be done automatically: depending on the road situation and driver’s on-road character.

    We do expect that the VC-T technology would deliver numerous benefits to buyers as reducing fuel consumption, emissions, noise and vibrations. It does sound as ridiculous advertisement, doesn’t it? The whole system will also be lighter and more compact, compared to classic engine types. Okay, now it sounds as one.

    But let’s get back to the safety features. INFINITI earned NHTSA’s trust by incorporating numerous passive and active safety systems, along with driver-assistance technologies. There are Forward Collision Warning and Forward Emergency Braking systems, Backup Collision Intervention, Moving Object Detection and numerous cameras. Cool, right?

    Larte Design Infiniti QX80 Missuro front viewIf you have an Infiniti QX80 and you think you need an individual touch, the Missuro tuning pack by Larte Design is probably the best choice to make. After applying it, the results are unexpectedly good and in fact the car looks amazing and very stylish. Another interesting detail is that the QX80 Missuro made huge furor at the Russian Podolsk, and it is currently making noise at the Moscow Tuning Show. So if you are in the vicinity you can see it this weekend at the event.

    Although not many tuning studios provide even good quality pictures of their work, the specialists at Larte Design not only have given us (and you respectively) more than enough images to praise (see the gallery below), but also have made an exclusive video for the pack, which is featured at the end of this article.     The Missuro Chronicles

    Missuro is the name of just one of the four amazing tuning kits for the Infinti QX80 that Larte Design has developed so far. It gives the SUV a dynamic stance, determined posture and go-anywhere spirit.

    When added, the styling pack actually changes the front and rear fascias and adds new wheels as well as three-mode LED lighting and a new exhaust system. It doesn’t do anything to the output or the interior, but still it is extremely impressive. What we see at the front are the additional vents above the headlights. They are not only serving aesthetical purposes, but also provide additional cooling for the engine compartment.

    In addition, LED lighting under the headlights is multifunctional and can be used as daytime running lights, parking lights and turn indicators. The radiator grille is also in-house made and one-off.

    At the back, there is a high performance exhaust system. It can be fitted with driver-operated electronic sound control valve and is completed by polished stainless steel tips. At last but not least, the experts added huge 24-inch three-piece modular wheels with forged centers. Behind the rims we see a powerful braking system from Rotora with 8-piston calipers, massive ventilated rotors high-performance pads and braided stainless steel brake hoses.

  • Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo can be yours today an here’s how [w/video]

    Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo front viewInfiniti has finally lifted the virtual veil of the Concept Vision Gran Turismo: a car intended to be driven by those who have a Play Station and playing the Gran Turismo 6 (GT6) game. The model will be available for download from today and it envisions an Infiniti car from the future. Hopefully – not the very distant one.

    The high performance concept vehicle was created through an intimate work with the creators of the famous car-game. If you remember, the project has stated initially with an ambitious global Infiniti Design competition, which set the rule to “design the pure Infiniti GT car.”

    The best model was the winning one and it was created by company’s design team in Beijing. As we can see it features the characteristic design of the bran, a powerful shape, sensual and audacious surfaces and a lot of performance spirit.

    The process of the design began with the making of hand sketching, which were then refined digitally, and the refined by hand sculpting. The last step was the final digital refinement. In addition, the people in the project were so involved that they made thorough examinations and calculations of technical features like the aerodynamics and engine performance.

    It was estimated that the front mid-ship/trans-axle powertrain enables 45:55 front/rear weight balance. In terms of aerodynamics, the under-floor airflow control, front and back diffusers, and uniquely shaped rear spoiler allow this concept to show higher performance.

    2016 Infiniti Q50 3.0t front and side view2016 Infiniti Q50 3.0t is the latest model in the famous Q50 lineup, which is powered by a brand new engine and offers a lot of additional standard goodies. What is more, Infiniti has just announced the pricing of the car, which starts from $39,900 USD and rises depending on the trim level. The detailed pricing list is featured below.

    There are actually four trim levels in the 2016 Infiniti Q50 3.0t model line-up. Each is equipped with the new 4-cylinder 3.0-liter V6 twin turbo engine, which produces no less than 300 horsepower (220 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. With the new Q50 3.0t models, the entire 2016 Q50 lineup can now proudly offer the choice of four powerplants and 12 models.

    Other updates for the Q50 lineup (that are also included here) comprise of Direct Adaptive Steering system and driver-selectable Dynamic Digital Suspension. The pricing of the Q50 2.0t and Q50 Hybrid Premium is $33,950 USD and $47,050 USD respectively, while the Q50 Red Sport 400 is being sold for $47,950 USD.

  • Infiniti Showcases the Bold and Beautiful QX Sport Inspiration Concept

    2016 Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration Concept The bold new Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration Concept has made its global debut at the 2016 Beijin Auto Show and showed brand’s plans and intentions for the future.

    The QX Sport Inspiration Concept strictly follows the series of the Q30 Concept, QX30 Concept and Q60 Concept. The new Concept family member shows Infiniti’s vision of how the future mid-size SUVs would look and at the same time show off some design ideas and engineering wonders.

    Heavily influenced and shaped by brand’s “Powerful Elegance” design approach, the QX Sport Concept demonstrates expressive exterior with muscular stance, sculptural lines and refined proportions. And, of course, Infiniti team hasn’t abandoned its meticulous attention towards the small cues and details.

    On the other hand, the spacious and functional interior follows the ideology of “driver-centric, passenger-minded” approach and is characterised by elegant and flowing lines, advanced craftsmanship and tons of cutting-edge technologies.

    The new Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration will be on display at the 2016 Beijin Auto Show from 25th of April until 4th of May at the China International Exhibition Center.

    As always, Infiniti tries to impress audience, critics and fans with outstanding design, blended with high quality components and structure and excellent performance rates.
