  • Meet the Flame Throwing Nero Nemesis Lamborghini Aventador [VIDEO]

This Lambo is astounding! Not only because of its exceptional looks, but also because it has received some special performance and visual updates. The specialists responsible for this are those at the Netherlands based company Baan Velgen. Called Nero Nemesis (like an Arch Enemy song, isn’t it) because of its looks, the car has been fitted with HRE styling upgrades as well as Akrapovic exhaust.

First, I must say that the Aventador runs on alloys that were specifically created for its purposeful stance and athletic appearance. These forged wheels come directly from the working place of HRE and are named P101. Colored in Satin Black to match the exterior, they undoubtedly contribute for the impression that this Lamborghini leaves.

The next extra things about this car are the Akrapovic goodies. First, the tuners installed slip-on exhaust and then they continued with the Akrapovic link pipes. They both are responsible for the special look and the special sound of the LP700-4.

Oh, and did I mention that one of the most impressive features of this exhaust is its capability to shoot flames?

What is more, this exhaust also includes the power of the Aventador and also saves around 46% of weight over the standard exhaust. This means that the V12 unit will have the capability of producing more than 700 horsepower (522 kW) and 690 Nm (511 lb-ft) of torque.

    I’m sure you’ll enjoy this:

  • Puritalia 427 Still Not Ready

Puritalia-427-shadowPuritalia-427-medium-1The story here dates back to July last year. A press release from the tiny Italian company Puritalia stated that by the end of 2013, it will unleash its handmade 427 model that will ultimately have a limited run of 100 vehicles.

Visually, the 427  is a tribute to the light and powerful roadsters of the sixties; conceptually, it’s a tribute to those who appreciate pure, mechanical power. “The only electric motor is for the wipers” a slogan reads on their web page.

All sounds clunkily delicious. Especially when you consider that the intended engine is a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that produces 605 hp. The 6-speed transmission should be manual, the limited slip differential hydraulic, and the rear wheels ruined from the merciless torque (640 Nm). Big brembo brakes will try to tame the power while two-way adjustable mono-tube shock absorbers and adjustable stabilizers will try keep things firmly planted on the road.

By the 30th of December 2013, there was silence. Apparently, things had fallen behind schedule since only on the 31th of December their website stirred up and uploaded a few pictures of work still being done to the 427. And hey, it even has HRE wheels on already. Not quite finished then, but alive and kicking nevertheless.

  • HRE Performance Enhances Dodge SRT Viper Twin Turbo

HRE-Performance-Dodge-SRT-Viper-Twin-Turbo-P106-THUMBHRE Performance Dodge SRT Viper Twin Turbo P106 is a visual perfection. Not only because it carries the spirit of the SRT Viper, but also because this spirit is perfectly and harmoniously complemented by the glamorous wheels delivered by HRE Performance.

Undoubtedly, HRE is performance-driven company. The design of the wheels it produces combines strength, lightness and superior engineering. In this project the tuners have been inspired by the three-piece Series S1 line, and have created specifically for the Viper Monoblok interpretation of the Series P1 called P106.

To go further into details, the P106 is a split-six spoke design with a six lug bolt pattern. It is offered in diameters ranging from 19 to 22 inches and widths from 8.5 to 13 inches. Other design features here include sculpted spoke geometry and lightweight pocket machining, aggressive conical profiles and spokes that extend all the way to the wheel lip.

HRE P106s perfectly match the latest generation Viper. They also minimize unsprung mass and rotational inertia in order to deliver maximum acceleration, handling and braking performance. SRT Viper is powered by 8.4 liter all-aluminum V-10 overhead-valve engine.

The latter delivers exactly 640 horsepower (471 kW) and 813Nm (600 lb-ft) of torque. This makes it the one with most torque of any naturally aspirated power units in the world.

  • Kia Track’ster Revealed

Kia-Trackster-Concept-thumbThe Kia Track’ster concept is out of the box. Attenders at the Chicago Auto Show yesterday had the privilege to witness the rather dramatic revealing. And now when the Track’ster is open to the public, we do are not sure from where to start.

Although it is based on the current Soul, in essence it is an entirely different car. The Track’ster is simply exciting to look at thanks to those air-gulping, carbon grille installations across the front and the massive auxiliary LED lights that complement them. The headlights themselves are impressive enough with that flowing figure that seems to be reaching for the fenders. And can you not notice the color of the whole thing? It’s white and orange as if it’s a pair of trainers – The roof and lower front, side and back valances are in, what Kia calls, an ‘inferno’ shade. That burning hue can be noticed as a motive also on the mirrors and at the front air-scooping slit and inside. To do the honor of the overall sculptured body lines of the Track’ster, Kia have fitted four HRE-K1 monoblock billet performance wheels. Ideal tires would be 245/40-19-inch for the front wheels and a stunningly wide and low pair of 285/35-19′s at the back.

More features that set the Track’ster apart from the Soul include the dimensions – 101.2-inches of wheelbase length make the concept almost an inch longer than its production parent. And most certainly, the 14-inch Brembo vented and cross-drilled brake discs at the front and 13.6-inch ones at the back, gripped by six and four-piston calipers respectively, do not come as standard on a Soul but they are present in Track’ster. Such suspension attention on a concept car seems redundant but when we realize that the Track’ster hides a 2.0-liter, straight four turbocharged power plant that develops 250 hp things start to make sense. What also makes sense is the power being channeled trough an electronically controlled four-wheel-drive system in order to prevent any torquesteer, understeer or oversteer tendencies. The transmission is a six-speed, short-ratio manual controlled by a stubby gear stick found on the center console (naturally).

Speaking of the center console, the inside of the car is certainly a place where we or any other car enthusiast might like to spend a great deal of time. The two bucket seats at the front are dressed in gray and orange (inferno) leather. The dashboard, door panels and center console have the same motives with added white patterns. There are standalone gauges on top of the dashboard that indicate things like oil pressure, temperature and battery voltage. Just bellow is a touch-screen interface which deals with the navigation, ventilation and entertainment system. The start button on the other hand, might just be the most exciting feature of all (for a 10 year old).

A part of the Track’ster‘s “street” appeal is lost when we look at the back where, on a normal Soul, one would find rear seats. The Track’ster however stands by its name and occupies the rear space with a section for tools, a sport’s gear compartment, a place for a spare tire and other track-friendly items. It all sounds like a car enthusiast’s dream really. Except one problem – Kia are not thinking of actually making it. It is said that the Track’ster is more of a test for the company’s engineers and their creativity and ability to make perfect, road going, performance superminis. Point taken.
