  • Puritalia 427 Still Not Ready

Puritalia-427-shadowPuritalia-427-medium-1The story here dates back to July last year. A press release from the tiny Italian company Puritalia stated that by the end of 2013, it will unleash its handmade 427 model that will ultimately have a limited run of 100 vehicles.

Visually, the 427  is a tribute to the light and powerful roadsters of the sixties; conceptually, it’s a tribute to those who appreciate pure, mechanical power. “The only electric motor is for the wipers” a slogan reads on their web page.

All sounds clunkily delicious. Especially when you consider that the intended engine is a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that produces 605 hp. The 6-speed transmission should be manual, the limited slip differential hydraulic, and the rear wheels ruined from the merciless torque (640 Nm). Big brembo brakes will try to tame the power while two-way adjustable mono-tube shock absorbers and adjustable stabilizers will try keep things firmly planted on the road.

By the 30th of December 2013, there was silence. Apparently, things had fallen behind schedule since only on the 31th of December their website stirred up and uploaded a few pictures of work still being done to the 427. And hey, it even has HRE wheels on already. Not quite finished then, but alive and kicking nevertheless.

  • Ferrari Enzo with HRE Wheels On

    Ferrari-Enzo-HRE-Wheels-thumbFerrari-Enzo-HRE-Wheels-medium-1

The extremely rare Ferrari Enzo is back for a bit of glory thanks to the guys at HRE Wheels. Yes, a set of brand new wheels can do miracles, refreshing the look and adding some appeal and performance.

For this particular Enzo, HRE have gone for their P43SC Series – 1-piece monoblocks that utilize an aerospace-grade forged aluminum and side cuts plus backpad pocketing in the name of less unsprung mass and rotational inertia. They can come in both, 19 and 20-inch sizes.

The Ferrari Enzo is limited to only 400 examples and it has been around for a while (2002). Underneath its skin, there’s a 6.0-liter V12, naturally aspirated engine that develops 651 hp and 657 Nm of torque. The former comes to you at 7,800 rpm. Zero to sixty mph is done in the astonishing time of 3.1 seconds. Zero to a hundred mph – 6.6 seconds. The highest recorded speed in it stands at 221 mph. Time to see if a new pair of shoes does the trick of improving these figures.Ferrari-Enzo-HRE-Wheels-medium-2

  • Ford GT HRE Wheels and eGarage [VIDEO]

Ford-GT-HRE-thumb“It’s now what you say, it’s how you say it”, that’s what my girlfriend always tells me in an argument. I guess she has a valid point and that the same phenomena can be observed elsewhere. Cinematography for example: It’s not what you film, it’s how you film it. That brings us to the storytellers at eGarage.com. What they can do with a Ford GT and four HRE Wheels is evident in this clip which came up recently.

I personally am not a fan of the Ford GT. I see it more as heap of aluminum, lingering in the shadow of it’s own predecessor (the Ford GT40). Sure, the new one has many new and unique technologies (i.e. – a capless fuel filler system so that you don’t strain yourself every time you stop for a refill… which happens a lot). It also has a punchy twin supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine which puts out 550 hp and 678 Nm of torque at just 3750 rpm – very muscle-like. The Ford GT sounds nice too and apparently, it looks like a Ferrari or something as well. Yet somehow it never really caught on. Or maybe that’s just me being bitter.

Either way, this one in the clip has been modified only in the wheel compartment. HRE Monoblok P44SC wheels from the P40SC line with a V-Five 10 spoke design and a bronze finish. A finish appropriate on a memorial.

  • HRE P40SC Porsche 997 Turbo adds more contrast to the road

HRE-P40SC-Porsche-997-Turbo-THUMBWhat could make a Porsche 977 Turbo stand out among the rest? The answer is a dramatic grey and red contrast. It has been achieved thanks to the enhancement which has been done with the help of HRE Wheels.

The car is originally equipped with a 6-cylinder, 3.8 liter boxer engine generating 500 hp (370 kW). The Porsche is equipped with manual 7-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox, sport-chrono package, featuring the availability of an electronically controlled launch-control and an overboost-function for temporary increasing the turbo-pressure.

Therefore which this amazing amount of horsepower it is no wonder that this Porsche can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.4 seconds, reaching its top speed of 194 mph (312 km/h).

Now, with the set of HRE P40SC Wheels in Brushed Red with a fitment of 20″x9″ at the front and 20″x13″ at the rear, the 977 can be the star on the road, making everyone who isn’t driving it envy.
