  • 2011 Honda Jazz Hybrid at the Paris Motor Show

    Honda Jazz Hybrid will be presented at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. It is the world’s first B-segment car with hybrid technology, which is capable of doing 64.2mpg or 4.4 liter per 100 km.

    2011 Jazz Hybrid is powered by 1.3 litre i-VTEC, which can be found on the Insight Hybrid. The small engine emits just 104 g/km of CO2. The car features flexible Magic Seats and up to 831 litres of boot space. The IMA battery pack is integrated in the area under the boot floor, so the luggage compartment is unharmed. (more…)

  • Honda Insight recorded 63.6 mpg

    Insight won Honda Mileage Marathon event by doing an average of 63.6mpg (3.7l / 100km). The vehicle even improved its own result – the official economy figure was 61.4mpg (combined).

    The challenge involved six high mileage company car drivers, which swapped their own cars for a Honda Insight for a month, to test how the hybrid can reduce their fuel costs.

    Ray Hadlington, who usually drives a Vauxhall Zafira Diesel improved its own fuel economy by over 10 mpg, which is equal to £50 in fuel bills. (more…)

  • Honda announced near future plans for the CR-Z sporty hybrid

    Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced plans to begin sales in Japan of the CR-Z sporty hybrid model in February 2010 and Fit Hybrid before the end of 2010. By combining these two models with the currently available Insight and Civic Hybrid, Honda will further enhance its lineup of compact hybrid models, which leverage the unique characteristics of Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist (IMA), including compact size, lightweight and high efficiency.   • Honda Insight Hybrid to Make World Debut at the Detroit Motor Show

    Honda has today given the first glimpse of the American specification, production version of the all-new 2010 Insight hybrid will make its world debut in January 2009 at the Detroit Motor Show.

    This first image of the US version of Honda’s latest production hybrid shows how the Insight Concept, first shown at Paris in October 2008, will be transferred into an aerodynamically inspired, athletic looking road car. The new five-passenger, five-door Insight is powered by a lighter, more compact version of Honda’s IMA hybrid system and will go on sale in the spring. (more…)
