  • Volkswagen Polo GTI Edition 25

To celebrate this milestone, Volkswagen is rolling out a unique version called the Polo GTI Edition 25. Back in 1998, the Polo proudly embraced those three iconic letters: GTI. Now, twenty-five years since the launch of the Polo III GTI, VW unveils a limited edition of the current Polo GTI, packing a punchy 152 kW (207 PS). This dynamic performance is not the only remarkable feature of this sporty compact car. Equipped with sports suspension, the XDS electronic differential lock, a wide range of standard features, and special design elements, the anniversary model truly stands out. Starting from 1st June, the Polo GTI Edition 25 can be ordered in Germany, priced at €35,205. The exact specifications and pricing for the UK market will be confirmed soon.

Just like its “older sibling” the Golf GTI, the Polo has a long history and a number of sporty predecessors: VW is now marking a quarter of a century of the Polo GTI with the special anniversary model Polo GTI Edition 25, limited to 2,500 units. “Volkswagen has a rich heritage and the Polo is one of our most iconic vehicles,” says Imelda Labbé, Member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales. “GTI fans are very important to us and our anniversary model is a way of marking this milestone together with them: celebrating 25 years of power, performance, sportiness, and fun driving in the Polo class.”

    Performance and vehicle handling

Underneath the hood, the Polo GTI Edition 25 boasts a robust two-liter TSI motor generating an impressive 152 kW (207 PS) of power and a torque of 320 Nm. This mighty engine enables the front-wheel drive Polo GTI Edition 25 to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds. Not only that, but this model comes with a specially calibrated sports suspension as a standard feature. With a lowered body by 15 millimeters and the electronic differential lock XDS working in harmony, the result is a seamless fusion of exceptional driving dynamics, enhanced traction, and precise handling—a hallmark of GTI models.

    Exclusive anniversary equipment

The special edition Polo GTI Edition 25 doesn’t just perform, it also makes a visual statement. Embodying the iconic GTI aesthetic, it features eye-catching red brake calipers and trim strips, a honeycomb design on the radiator grille, and chrome-plated tailpipes. But that’s not all. This Polo GTI Edition 25 comes with a range of exclusive equipment to enhance its sporty appeal, including sleek 18-inch Adelaide alloy wheels in Black Glossy, a black roof, and black exterior mirrors. Inside, you’ll find premium sport seats in perforated black-red leather adorned with stitched GTI logos, complemented by glossy black decorative trim featuring red GTI lettering. As a subtle reminder of its limited availability, the sill panel trim proudly displays the “One of 2500” logo. In addition to the classic GTI colors like Pure White, Kings Red Metallic, Reef Blue Metallic, Smoke Grey Metallic, and Deep Black Pearl Effect, the Polo GTI Edition 25 is also offered in the stylish Ascot Grey hue.

    Innovative technologies

The Polo GTI Edition 25 comes packed with standard features, including IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights with Dynamic Light Assist and LED daytime running lights, ensuring excellent and uniform road illumination. The leather multifunction sports steering wheel with paddles and the distinctive “25” logo also come as standard, adding a touch of sportiness. Furthermore, this special edition model is equipped with advanced assist systems typically found in higher-class vehicles. As part of the IQ.DRIVE assist package, the optional Travel Assist enables partially automated driving. With Travel Assist, the system can take control of steering, braking, and acceleration for the Polo GTI within the speed range from 0 km/h up to 210 km/h. It relies on well-known technologies such as Adaptive Cruise Control for maintaining a safe distance and Lane Assist (standard) for precise lateral guidance.

The instrument cluster and Infotainment system in the Polo GTI Edition 25 are thoughtfully designed on a single visual axis, ensuring clear visibility and effortless operation at all times. The standard Infotainment system, Ready2Discover, features a high-resolution 8-inch (20-centimeter) display, offering cutting-edge connectivity options. Additionally, there are two optional systems available for those seeking even more advanced features.

A look back at 25 years of the Polo GTI

When the GT variant of the initial Polo lineup hit the scene in 1979, it caused quite a sensation. However, it wasn’t until 1998, with the arrival of the third-generation Polo, that the iconic trio of letters was bestowed upon the car. VW decided to produce only 3,000 units of the first Polo GTI and swiftly announced that the model was completely sold out. Several years later, in 2006, the next GTI iteration made its appearance. The Cup Edition, boasting 132 kW (180 PS), delighted fans as its visual design drew inspiration from the racing cars used in the Polo Cup.

Then came the fifth generation in 2010, featuring a turbocharged and supercharged 1.4-liter TSI engine that captured the hearts of GTI enthusiasts while attracting a fresh wave of admirers. Its successor in 2014 proved to be a true powerhouse, equipped with a brand-new TSI engine delivering 141 kW (192 PS) and reaching impressive top speeds of 236 km/h.

The evolution of the Polo continued, and with it, the GTI tradition evolved as well. The sixth generation, introduced in 2021, set new benchmarks for compact cars. Built on the modular transverse matrix (MQB) platform, it exemplified technological progress across VW’s entire product lineup, boasting high structural integrity, remarkable weight efficiency, and exceptional crashworthiness.

  • Volkswagen Golf GTI Accessories Concept

An homage to the Volkswagen enthusiast, this GTI concept reflects a blended approach to personalization. Based on a 2022 Volkswagen GTI SE with six-speed manual, the concept features Oettinger body styling components—front valence, rear valence and rear spoiler—as well as 20-inch gloss-black multi-spoke wheels wrapped in 245/30R20 high-performance tires. Braking is upgraded with the help of eight-piston calipers and 14.6-inch ventilated cross-drilled rotors in front. The vehicle also features a lowered stance using H&R Street Performance coilovers.

Showing off the practical side of the sporty Golf platform is a color-matched roof box on base carrier bars. Additional curated items from Volkswagen Accessories include GTI dynamic center wheel caps, dynamic turn signals, black Bumperdillo rear bumper protection, enhanced rear view mirror with Homelink Connect®, Monster Mats all-season floor mats, heavy-duty trunk liner with CarGo blocks, and an emergency triangle.

  • Most powerful Golf R to date opens for order alongside agile new Golf GTI Clubsport

    2021 Volkswgen Golf R1

With three performance Golfs already on sale in the form of the GTI, GTD and GTE, the arrival of these two flagship models gives fans of performance Golfs more choice than ever before. Both newcomers offer greater levels of focus and driver involvement. In addition, each model features a raft of equipment and driver assistance systems, including IQ.Light matrix LED headlights, keyless entry, Lane Assist and Travel Assist, which facilitates Level 2 assisted driving up to speeds of 130 mph (where legal). Car2X is also fitted, as per the rest of the Golf range, allowing communication between Car2X-equipped cars and infrastructure, to warn road users of hazards ahead.

    The new Golf GTI Clubsport

The first of these new cars is the Golf GTI Clubsport. This model builds upon the already award-winning formula offered by the 245 PS/370 Nm Golf GTI, but dials the power output of its 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine up to 300 PS and 400 Nm of torque for a 0-62 mph time of just 5.6 seconds. This makes it the fastest-accelerating production Golf GTI in history. Special features for the new car include a driving mode developed especially for the demands of the Nürburgring, a large two-part rear spoiler resulting in a reduction in lift over the rear axle, and an exclusive front bumper, offering not only augmented styling, but incorporating a new front splitter for greater downforce on the front axle. The rear of the Clubsport is also distinguishable from the GTI, with oval tailpipes, rather than the GTI’s circular pipes, which sit further apart either side of an enhanced diffuser.

In addition to exterior and performance upgrades, the Golf GTI Clubsport also benefits from the standard fitment of Clubsport-specific ArtVelours seats alongside the acclaimed Digital Cockpit Pro and Discover Media navigation system, offering greater convenience and style. The Golf GTI Clubsport starts at £37,215 RRP OTR.

The Vehicle Dynamics Manager system works in combination with all the electronically controlled running gear including the electromechanical front-axle locking differential and XDS electronic differential lock to eliminate the understeer often associated with front-wheel drive cars. This focus is complemented by a larger braking system, and can be further optimised with the addition of the optional Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) adaptive damper system.

    The new Golf R

Meanwhile, the Golf R returns as the Golf’s outright flagship in terms of performance and positioning, now with 320 PS and 420 Nm on tap from its turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, equating to a top speed of 155 mph (increasing to 168 mph with the optional R-Performance Pack), where permitted. The 0 to 62 mph sprint is dispatched in just 4.7 seconds – making it the fastest-accelerating Volkswagen on sale.

The powerful and advanced EA888 evo4 engine is installed with a 7-speed DSG transmission, and, like all vehicles from Volkswagen R, 4MOTION all-wheel drive. The system has been comprehensively uprated for the latest generation of Golf R, with the introduction of R-Performance Torque Vectoring that distributes the engine output to all four wheels. The new differential on the rear axle distributes the drive power not just between the front and rear axles, but also variably between the two rear wheels. Up to 100% of torque can be directed to the wheel on the outside of a bend if necessary. This, working in conjunction with the all-new Vehicle Dynamics Manager and XDS electromechanical differential locks, allows a higher level of agility and a reduction in understeer, which in turn contributes to even greater driver involvement and dynamics.

An optional R-Performance Package is available on the Golf R for £2,000. It brings upgraded 19-inch ‘Estoril’ alloy wheels, a performance rear spoiler for added downforce, and an increased top speed of 168 mph (where permitted). The pack also adds two new driver modes; Drift and Special. Drift mode is entirely focused upon driver enjoyment away from public highways. This mode uses the full potential of the new R-Performance Torque Vectoring and enables the driver to drift the new Golf R on private tracks. The pack also introduces a Special mode that provides the car with the perfect setup to tackle the famously challenging Nürburgring. This is an extension of the standard Race driving mode, in which the engine sound is increased, while the DSG, optional DCC, progressive steering and the all-wheel drive system are adjusted to a sportier setup.

The Golf R is priced from £39,270 RRP OTR, and sits atop the new Golf range. It is identifiable by its attractive 18-inch ‘Jerez’ alloy wheels, full R body kit, roof spoiler and quad exhaust pipes – a feature that subtly hints at the model’s potency compared with other Golf models. A bespoke, heated R steering wheel features, with a new R button which allows the driver direct access to the car’s newly enhanced range of drive modes without needing to take their hands away from the wheel. Extended paddle shifters also add to the driver-focused convenience of the model’s cockpit. Sports seats with integrated head restraints feature a ‘Sardegna’ design in black-blue cloth, unique to the new R models, while the outer areas are in ArtVelours. The model’s brake callipers are finished in the hallmark shade of Volkswagen R blue, and feature the R division’s logo, while the car’s door mirrors are finished in a matt chrome effect – another identifier of the powerful and enthusiast-focused Golf R.

Several accessories are available for the Golf R including an Akrapovič titanium exhaust, panoramic sunroof, Harmon/Kardon sound system and a head up display.

Sarah Cox, Head of Marketing at Volkswagen UK, said: “Christmas has come early for fast Volkswagen fans, with not just one performance hero opening to UK customers today, but two.

“The Golf GTI Clubsport takes the iconic GTI with its winning formula and turns the dial up for even more driver involvement and focus, while the Golf R maintains its all-round appeal, with a fantastic new version of our 4MOTION system providing even more fun behind the wheel.

  • Golf GTI wins first ever ‘best all-rounder car’ title at inaugural Autocar Britain’s best cars awards

    The new Volkswagen Golf GTI

At its inaugural Britain’s Best Cars ceremony, Autocar gave the Golf GTI its ‘All-Rounder’ award, praising the model for its ability to, in the words of the publication: “tackle every journey, task and occasion you can think of – not least keeping its driver interested.” Merit was awarded for versatility, practicality, space, agility and compactness, as well as performance and value, driver engagement and desirability.

The judges praised the Golf’s everyday usability, its fun-to-drive appeal, as well as the solid basis – the Golf 8 – from which the GTI is born. Praise was also given to the subtlety in which it communicates its special status to the world.

Available in the UK from £33,460 RRP OTR, the new Golf GTI is offered with both 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG transmissions, and continues to feature the built-in blend of agility and comfort that has become synonymous with the model since its introduction, with enhancements introduced for the eighth-generation bolstering this appeal. The new Vehicle Dynamics Manager system, for instance, controls all of the Golf GTI’s electromechanically adjustable running systems such as the XDS electronic differential, alongside the new locking differential and optional adaptive dampers.

The Golf GTI has been a pantheon of versatility and all-rounder capability since its introduction in 1974, garnering millions of fans across the world for its ability to bring the thrills of sports-car like motoring into an altogether more affordable, versatile and reliable package. Autocar readers have previously voted the Golf GTI as their ‘Readers’ Champion’ in 2017, while the publication named the Golf its ‘Used Car Hero’ in 2019.

Elsewhere in the GTI range, the up! GTI was recently given the ‘Best Value’ title by The Sun, and ‘Value Car of the Year’ by TheSunday Times, while the latter also named the Golf its ‘Family Car of the Year’, as well as its overall ‘Car of the Year’ accolade.

Mark Tisshaw, Editor of Autocar, said: “No single car has done more than the Golf GTI, over eight model generations and more than 40 years, to demonstrate how ready people are to pay a premium for a hatchback of extra-special status and abilities, from which they know they can get their money’s worth in everyday use.

“It’s a car with an extra, more visceral layer of driver appeal than its predecessors, but it’s still a pragmatist at heart. It’s the kind of hot hatch that remembers the need to be a family hatchback and just blend in from time to time – a hot hatch with an off switch for driving granny to the shops. Which is why our Best All-Rounder winner can only be the brilliant Golf GTI.”

Andrew Savvas, Managing Director at Volkswagen UK, said: “The Golf GTI personifies the ’people’s car’ philosophy for which the Volkswagen brand is famous. Take a Golf: the benchmark compact family car described by many as ‘all the car you ever need’. Now add just the right amount of power, performance and driver engagement to the already crisp-handling standard car, and you’ve got a model that offers an entertaining driving experience, personality in abundance, performance aplenty yet also supreme everyday usability.

“The recognition being given to the Golf and Golf GTI by experts means so much – especially when in a category that encapsulates the model as much as this one. The GTI’s versatility, fun-loving spirit and iconic status are key to its appeal, and why it has been the go-to driver’s car for so many, for so long.”

  • 2018 up! GTI: beast in cute packaging. We like it!

2018 Volkswagen up! GTIFinally, one of the most anticipated Volkswagen models, the up! GTI is available for order! The new 2018 vehicle builds up on the strengths of its predecessors and as we are about to find out, learns from past mistakes. The latest lineup of GTI lineage machines that includes up!, Polo and the award-winning Golf GTI remains one of the most popular in this vehicle segment and there is a fine reason for that. So, let’s jump right in the action and tell you more about this cute beast!

First of all, the 2018 up! GTI is available in three- and five-door body styles. Second, it looks a lot like previous models. In a good way. The vehicle has maintained its well-known and widely recognizable VW signature visual features, but also showcases a character of its own: the body language is characterized with direct lines, minimal amount of curves and overall simplistic design concept. It does resemble the Golf GTI spirit for some reason. Maybe because of the confident front face and the overall small, yet sexy body.

    2018 Volkswagen up! GTI

However, the exterior styling is nothing for all those who would like to drive the machine and enjoy the coziness of the cabin. And we do believe that “cozy” is just the right word for this interior concept. There isn’t anything that would make you say “wow” and there isn’t a single feature that would make you believe that designers and engineers have tried too hard. They haven’t. The cabin is straightforward with everything being placed on the right place. The only thing that is somehow fancy is the red color panels, small details and stitching. As always, the red color makes everything loos sporty.

And now let’s focus on the most important thing: drivetrain system. The 2018 up! GTI is powered by the most agile petrol engine: the three-cylinder turbocharged 1.0-liter TSI wonder. It offers 115 horsepower and up to 200Nm of torque between 2,000-3,500rpm. This power is sent to the front wheels and it is tamed with a six-speed manual transmission. Further mechanical goodies include a lightweight body construction that results on a total of 1,071kg of total weight, a fine-tuned sporty suspension, and some neat engineering tweaks that would make this fancy vehicle into an agile and menacing little imp.

  • OXIGIN Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI Clubsport is a piece of art

OXIGIN Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI Clubsport front and side viewVolkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport is going to star in our news a lot today! The reason is that the special edition model is marking 40 years since it has first appeared on the market in 1976. Back then, the car was powered by a 1.6 litre fuel-injected engine producing 110 hp (81 kW). It might not look a lot now, but it was back then! The latest GTI Clubsport, which is also depicted in the article, is driven by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine sending a lusty 265 horsepower (195 kW) to the front wheels, with up to 290 hp (213 kW) on tap in short-term overboost.

Anyways. We are going to show you a simple project with incredibly beautiful pictures, made especially for those who admire not only Golf’s but also woman’s beauty. The project is made by the “wheels specialists” at OXIGIN. Here are the details.

SEE ALSO: Anniversary Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport Celebrates the Spirit of GTI in Frankfurt

The Clubsport has some serious styling cues: check out the black trim on its bumpers, the tartan checked sports seat inserts, the red topstitching, and its golf ball gearknob. All of these distinctive features were inspired by its ancestor.

OXIGIN Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI Clubsport side view

To make the car even more individual, the experts at OXIGIN decided to add a set of 8.5×19-inch OXIGIN 20 Attraction alloy wheels wrapped in red and white foil (by hand) over gloss black. Next on the list was the addition of KW Clubsport coilover suspension with variable front top mounts.

For the best look, the specialists at Wrap Carstyles stepped in. They have applied a digitally printed and red and black color-coded foil design to give the impression the bodywork has been scratched by huge claws. At last but not least, in order to lower exhaust backpressure, Schalk-Tuning fitted a Bull X-Downpipe with 200-cell HJS catalyst and a Remus sports exhaust system.

The result is a unique, isn’t it? Any thoughts on the image gallery?

  • Anniversary Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport Celebrates the Spirit of GTI in Frankfurt

Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport Front ViewVolkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport special edition is based on the concept revealed this year. The production version of the car comes to celebrate Golf GTI’s 40th birthday, and the best news is that we don’t have to wait much longer than one week to see it, since it is going to be revealed at the Frankfurt International Motor Show.

By the way, this is the most powerful production GTI that Volkswagen has ever created. And there is a very special and unexpected thing about the horsepower of the anniversary model which I will discus in a second.

    Ways of Achieving Extra Horsepower

Under the hood of this VW is an engine which produces 265 PS (195 kW), which is exactly 35 PS more in comparison to the previous edition. But wait, there is more. If you can wait 10 seconds more as a driver of this Golf GTI, then you can increase engine’s power by 10 per cent with the help of overboost function. This means that you’ll have more than 290 PS just by pressing the throttle fully.

SEE ALSO: Volkswagen Reveals First Details about Golf GTI Clubsport

Wondering about the acceleration time? Golf GTI Clubsport sprints from 0 to 62 mph in 6.0 seconds with a 6-speed manual gearbox. If the car is equipped with the available 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DSG), the time is reduced to 5.9 seconds. The top speed in both cases is 155 mph.

    Exterior Beauty

Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport Rear and Side View

2016 Golf GTI Clubsport Anniversary Edition is painted in “Oryx White”. Nevertheless, there are other colors available if you are not keen in this specific shade. The Oryx White is contrasted with the black roof and black door mirror caps.

Furthermore, there are new elements for the exterior design of the car. Such are the front bumper, side sills, rear diffuser and multi-part roof spoiler. Even the alloys have new design!

Moreover, the sides of the car feature the emblematic for the GTI stripe that is enhanced with “Clubsport” lettering. The black trim stripe is continued at the front around the air scoop in the front bumper. “Brescia” 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels have been specially designed for the new Golf GTI Clubsport. But if you opt for the standard wheels, then you’ll get18-inch ones.

    Exclusivity for the Interior

    Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport Interior

The cabin is wrapped in high-quality materials and includes a lot of iconic for the model’s ancestors features… however, they have been a little bit modified. These include: the folding racing buckets instead of sport seats, which by the way are covered with Alcantara and feature a honeycomb pattern on the backrests and seat cushions; A red line for the seat belts; trim strips in “Honeycomb 40” design on the instrument panel, center console and doors an other sporty decorative features.

Well, it takes less than seven days to see this beautiful anniversary edition take over the stages in Frankfurt. I’m sure, we’d all be startled!

  • HG-Motorsport Volkswagen Golf GTI and Polo GTI Can Beat Porsche 911?

HG-Motorsport Volkswagen Golf GTI and Polo GTI Front ViewHG-Motorsport must be very proud, because they have just released not one but two dynamic cars. The “double act” is represented via two Volkswagens, Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI and Polo 6C GTI, which have gained significant boosts in terms of power and torque. Some styling enhancements also complement their sportier nature. There is no wonder why the chosen cars were the GTI variants of the Golf from the seventh generation and the Polo 6C, isn’t it? So let’s review what has happened to those two.

    HG-Motorsport Volkswagen Golf GTI

HG-Motorsport Volkswagen Golf GTI Rear View

Defining the HG-Motorsport Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI is a sinister new appearance which hints that this car has more to show. Defined by exclusive graphics on the side doors, and red multi-spoke wheels, this car is capable of unbelievable heights. Just for a comparison, the standard motor under the hood produces 230 hp (170 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft). Which is not bad, compared to the GTI-less specifications.

However, the untamed character of the tuners had to be transferred onto this Golf, and therefore they created an upgrade, which boosts these numbers to a mind-blowing 375 (276 kW) and 527 Nm (389 lb-ft) of torque. Now we can even compare this car to sports beasts like the Porsche 911, can’t we?

After the conversion, the seventh generation Golf can be compared to Porsche 911 with its 375 HP!

The question is how HG-Motorsport achieved an addition of 145 horses? There is a lot of work involved here. First, the production turbocharger has been substituted with larger one, just like the one found on the Golf R. Then, its potential was further boosted by a temperature lowering Double-DIN-intercooler. There is also an in-house made HF-Series carbon-fibre airbox, which aids the ram intake airflow.

The conversion does not finish here, because of the simple fact, that this addition of 145 hp, is not an easily achievable goal. The experts continued with the installation of Bull-X EWG 3.0-inch diameter downpipe, complemented by a Bull-X sound flap sports exhaust system. The latter actually features sports catalyst and R32-look carbon tailpipes.

SEE ALSO: HG-Motorsport Releases Better Version of Audi TTS

These tailpipes add to the visual appearance of the car aided by a new custom rear apron. At last, in order to match the new optimized intake and exhaust hardware, the ECU’s remapped fuel and ignition as well as boost curves were also improved.

Better driving dynamics, ensuring that the additional power is well managed, were also achieved. Precisely, this is due to the installation of KW Variant 3 coil-over suspension with DCC. Furthermore, behind the multi-spoke red-coloured alloys we see new brakes up front. The uprated Golf GTI brake kit includes eight-pot fixed caliper front brakes with 356×32 mm floating discs.

    Onto the next car.

    HG-Motorsport Volkswagen Polo GTI

HG-Motorsport Volkswagen Polo GTI Rear View

The second car here is the Polo 6C GTI. Its production turbocharged 1.8 litre engine, generates 192 hp (141 kW) and 250 Nm (185 lb-ft) of maximum torque. Although the car is smaller and less potent, it has received almost the same upgrades like its bigger brother.

Here, the conversion has achieved an addition of 68 horses. In details, the kit for the power-boost comprises of HF-Series air-intake system and intercooler as well as Bull X-3.0-inch exhaust downpipe and sound flap exhaust. The latter features metal sports catalyst and … can you also spot the carbon-tipped twin tailpipes? Nice looking, aren’t they?

Here, the conversion has achieved an addition of 68 horses.

So, without ECU remapping, the car is capable of producing 212 hp (156 lb-ft) and 287 Nm (212 kW). But … after the specialists at SLS Tuning stepped in, the result is spectacular: 260 hp (191 lb-ft) with 350 Nm (258 kW) of torque. HG-Motorsport even confesses that the uprating had to be even more, but the seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission imposed torque limitations.

At last, the sportier character of the mini fellow is strengthened via H&R Deep by K-Custom Polo GTI coil-over suspension kit. And can you spot that by this lowering the tires literally disappear behind the wheel arches? This is due to the Mücke Carbon wide-look wheel arches that have been specifically developed for this Polo.

And just like its big brother, the car runs on custom multi-spoke red wheels and features exclusive graphic elements on its sides.

Both cars are now ready for action, and judging by the number 57 on the back door window, we can soon expect of this tuned Golf 7 GTI to make significant achievements in the motorsport field.

  • Volkswagen Reveals First Details about Golf GTI Clubsport

Yesterday we told you that Volkswagen will display another concept at Wörthersee vehicle next to the recently announced Clubsport concept, and this is the Golf GTI Performance one-off concept. Well, now it is the time to break the silence for one of them and as you can guess it is turn of the Clubsport. Several images have been already revealed as well as some important information.

As we told you earlier the car has been created with a specific purpose – Golf GTI’s 40th anniversary. Since it is a concept vehicle, this means that it will also sport some differences from the production version, if such is to come. Rumors say that we will see one in 2016.

SEE ALSO: Volkswagen Announces GTI Clubsport. Is this the fastest GTI Ever Produced?

First, the design of the car is more aggressive. The white body is complemented with black and red design accents, and the wheels are huge, measuring 19-inches. There are also chrome exhaust outlets that can be seen on both sides of the redesigned rear bumper and diffuser. At the front, new are the black blades, lower front splitter and rearview mirrors.

The most inspiring thing about this concept is the powerplant which is the 2.0 turbocharged petrol unit, pushing out 265 horses (195 kW). The car will also have this cool feature of overboost, thus delivering additional 10 percent of power.

The 265 hp will be transmitted to the front wheels via six-speed DSG combined with an electronically-controlled XDS differential. More details are to be announced very soon, since Wörthersee meeting begins today. Stay tuned!

  • Volkswagen Teases Another One-off Wörthersee Golf GTI Concept

Next to the Clubsport concept Volkswagen is going to debut another car at the Wörthersee meeting this year. It has just been teased with two sketches and an announcement that it will be developed by thirteen apprentices. Four young women and nine men are currently training at Volkswagen and developing their project. Their age is between 17 and 25, and they have been selected as team members on the basis of their excellent performance.

At first, they took a body of the Golf GTI painted in white and then developed it demonstrating creativity, skill and knowledge. The members at the team are actually training as interior specialists, paint and mechatronics technicians, media designers and process technicians in plastics and rubber engineering, therefore you can imagine the variety of the work they can do for this project.

What we know so far about it? Well, there isn’t enough information. However we are sure that there will be optical and technical refinements of the suspension, engine, interior, seats and sound system. The car also port innovative color scheme, hand-crafted and painted body kitл

What was left unsaid is the information about the engine. We suspect that this concept will have some significant upgrades over the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol unit. This means that it will develop more than 230 hp (170 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque.

All of this will be shown at Lake Wörthersee, between 13th and 16th May. Stay tuned.

Volkswagen has exclusively released the first official sketches of the upcoming Golf GTI Clubsport. It is actually a concept, which we will see debuting at this year’s Wörthersee event. Judging from the three sketches, which you can view thoroughly below, the car has very production-like attitude and we sincerely hope to see it not only in a concept form.

    Exterior

The sketches reveal a specific Golf-infused exterior, which however features some specific details. The front bumpers for instance are new and they include aggressive and sharp air vents.

The diffuser at the back has been also redesigned, while the roof can now show-off with a new roof spoiler that hints to more aerodynamic stability. All of this comes in a very nice overall styling that is further supported by the unique five double-spoke wheels fitted with low-profile tyres.
