  • GSC showcases a rather futuristic concept for the BMW i8 model

2016 German Special Customs BMW i8BMW i8 Plug-in Hybrid was first revealed at the IAA back in 2013 and many people were disappointed, despite the wonderful design. Why? Because The whole design was left almost untouched to what was first revealed four years earlier. And here’s the tricky part: many were indeed disappointed, but there were these, who saw incredible opportunity.

“These” are indeed the tuning magicians from German Special Customs from Chemnitz. What they did is just incredible: not only the vehicle looks super-futuristic, but also it demonstrates numerous advanced drivetrain technologies. So, let’s see what exactly has been changed.

    Exterior styling

2016 German Special Customs BMW i8

Breathtaking. This word is just enough to describe the body shape of this monster. It looks futuristic, aggressive, sporty and challenge-ready. Covered in charcoal-black finish with numerous carbon-fiber components, the i8 also showcases neat blue details: wheels, side lines, kidney-grille surrounds and accents at the massive back-end.

The wheel arches are filled with 8.0×22 and 9.0×22-inch two-piece COR International rims, while the sporty springs lower the overall vehicle height and contribute to more menacing stance and of course, to better handling.

    Interior styling

2016 German Special Customs BMW i8

Fully resembling the exterior styling concept, the interior is also charcoal black-dominated. And let’s not forget about the same blue interior additions and components. They cover the sporty seats, slightly enhance the sporty steering wheel style and give that futuristic, yet stylish spark to the central console.

  • German Special Customs Mercedes-Benz S-Class Claimed the Best

German Special Customs Mercedes-Benz S-Class Front ViewGerman Special Customs Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the second tuning review for the day. Under the spotlight is again a tuning company from Germany. The specialists at GSC say that they have developed new styling kit for the ‘best car in the world’. Whether it is the best one, we could debate for hours, couldn’t we? But here we are going to focus more on the customization process rather than the aforementioned argument.

Many might think that when the S-Class is claimed ‘the best among others’, then it should not receive any more updates. However, GSC experts didn’t find necessary to accept everything for granted, so they made the decision to work for that title. And this is what they have achieved.

    Distinctive but Subtle?

German Special Customs Mercedes-Benz S-Class Rear View

The question here is whether subtle changes can give the vehicle a distinctive presence? The answer you will find after you read about the tuning process. A ‘distinctive but subtle’ Mercedes-Benz aero pack has been created for the long wheelbase of the S-Class that comes with additional 15cm … sizes count, don’t they?

SEE ALSO: Mercedes-AMG GT Tweaked by German Special Customs

Basically, the kit comprises of several new elements like the more aggressive front bumper and spoiler with integrated air splitter. Above them, we see huge central air intake on both sides of which we spot two smaller intakes. They incorporate LED DRLs.

The link between the new front and new rear bumper is made via the discreet side skirts. A detail important to mention is that the bumper at the tail features several design and functional enhancements. These include vertical air outlets for the wheel housings and a black valance insert around the trapezoidal tailpipes. As a matter of fact, the German Special Customs Mercedes-Benz S-Class tailpipes are part of an in-house made sports exhaust system.

The front is also characterized by a custom GT-bonnet and you might have already noticed that Mercedes-Benz’ emblem wasn’t featured in it. Of course, there is almost no one who could not recognize the distinctive appearance of the cars. In addition, the new bonnet also features sculpted lines and a couple of integrated vents.

    Foil Over Carbon?

German Special Customs Mercedes-Benz S-Class Mirror

As you can see the white exterior paint scheme has been contrasted via black parts. In fact, this isn’t a special material but a simple effect achieved via foil-wrapping. This is where I am a little bit disappointed, because I have expected more from the ‘best car in the world’, right? This ‘maximum visual impact’, as the tuner says, has been achieved with high gloss black foil that covers the front splitter, grille and bonnet vents as well as the roof panel, door mirrors and etc.

The good news is that German Special Customs Mercedes-Benz S-Class can be ordered with the aero kit in GRP or carbon fiber. ECU remapping is also in the options list. Rounding out this tuning is the addition of new 21-inch BBS CH-R II alloys coupled with Continental Sport Contact tyres.

In summary, GSC didn’t make anything spectacular, but has kept it simple. Still, the S-Class looks very well, but it is not in its best shape.

  • German Special Customs Previews the BMW i8 iTRON

German-Special-Customs-BMW-i8-iTRON-THUMBBMW i8 is a plug-in-hybrid racer, powered by 1.5 litres of displacement spread across three cylinders that produce 231 hp (170 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft). There is also an electric motor which generates 131 hp (96 kW) PS and 250 Nm (185 lb-ft). The combination of both is enough for offering an output similar to this of a “real” sports car. In fact, the car can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 250 km/h. The fuel economy is stunning: 2.1 litres of gasoline per 100 kilometres.

BMW i8 has been available on the market for several months and now the customization specialists at German Special Customs have prepared some styling enhancements for it. At this particular moment, they offer only design drafts of the new look of the project called “iTRON”.

At first sight, GSC’s vehicle looks more aggressive and powerful. Some of the new features include distinctively shaped front spoiler bumper with large cooling air inlets, integrated LED daylight headlights and a spoiler sword with winglets, as well as air outlets integrated into the new motor cowl.

At the back we have exhaust end tubes. End-tube blinds aligned with the shapes of the i8 are integrated in the new rear apron, which also repeats the winglets of the side sills and visually leads on until behind the rear wheels. At last, the serial wheel/tyre combination has been substituted with much wider and with larger diameter.

  • GSC McLaren P1 Night Glow [RENDER]

GSC-McLaren-P1-shadowGSC-McLaren-P1-mediumOkay, this is the vision of German Special Customs’ (GSC) Jens Engelmann for the McLaren P1, and it definitely is something. That is, it’s unique, and orange… but good? We can’t tell. Aesthetic blindness some call it.

It’s called the “Night Glow” – no, not the rave party you got invited to last month on Facebook – the McLaren over here which is still in draft (render) form. Its fitted with a custom made kit consisting of an apron with a pointy spoiler blade, side blades, and LED daytime running lights. There are also side skirts and a very conspicuous rear diffuser. Moving further back we notice a roof air-scoop and a ridiculously big rear wing promptly called by GSC, XXL. No need for the stock retractable one then? You know, the one that was designed to preserve the car’s signature teardrop shape? Okay… The final product is expected to deliver 1000+ hp so all these changes better have some possitive aerodynamic value.

Oh, and probably the most shocking feature here, however, are the exhaust end-pipes which strike us as…well, round.

We’ll just sit here for a little bit more staromg at it and see if we can make up our minds about the looks.

  • German Special Customs Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG Delivers More Power

German-Special-Customs-Mercedes-Benz-G63-AMG-THUMBGerman Special Customs Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG is a pure off-roader with a monstrous 5,461 ccm V12 biturbo engine beneath the massive engine hood. Originally the engine’s power is rated at 612 horsepower (450 kW) and draws from a maximum torque of 1000 Nm (738 lb-ft).

The tuners at German Special Customs have created an optimization package for this Mercedes-Benz model, which enhances it performance. It is a multi-part broad construction kit that delivers not only a clearly more sportive appearance but also strongly expands the broadness of the G-class.

Firstly, GSC installed at the front a broad bumper bar, a new radiator cowling made of carbon fiber and a set of LED daytime running lights. Next, the engine hood look more massive due to an attachment made of carbon for the improved de-aeration of used engine air.

Massive wheelhouse expansions which run smoothly into the side skirt also contribute towards the broad appearance of the vehicle. In addition, the trapezoidal end-pipes made of stainless steel were integrated at the rear. At this part of the off-roader can also be seen a new rear bumper bar that matches the front as well as carbon cover for the spare tire in the rear.

What rounds-off the exterior are the external rearview mirrors and ventilation slits in the engine hood, all made of carbon fibre.

Another highlight in this project is that GSC has also enhanced the engine’s performance via software. The unit now develops 620 horsepower (455 kW). A modified exhaust system is also present.

What puts all this power on the road are the 23-inches forged rims fitted with special tires in the format 305/35 R23 on the four ends of the AMG chassis frame. The interior of the G63 AMG was also improved thanks to a black and red full-leather fitting and different ornamental carbon parts.

  • German Special Customs Tunes Mercedes-Benz S-Class

German-Special-Customs-Mercedes-Benz-S-Class-THUMBWe are all familiar with the fact that the Mercedes-Benz vehicles are one of the most exclusive and luxurious ones. This is very true especially for the series called “S-Class“. Since five decades, the series is present on the automotive market, and a few weeks ago we have seen the introduction of its latest member.

And now German Special Customs is presenting its own design of an optically as well as technically clearly re-sharpened S-Class luxury limousine. Some of the most striking modifications are the bulky aprons on the front and rear sides.

To be more precise, the GSC front spoiler bumper bar with integrated LED daylight running light bars seems to be virtually sucking in the air stream with its massive cooling air openings. On the other hand, its counterpart on the rear creates a frame on the trapezoidal end-pipes of the new sport exhaust system.

There are also connecting links of the new bumper bars which form side skirts that also contribute towards an optical sense of lowering. Furthermore, the engine hood embodies signs which give a hint of the power concealed beneath it, thanks to its powerful contours and integrated ventilation openings.

An engine modification is expected in the future. The GSC professionals aim to tune the Biturbo V8 Sports S63 AMG unit so that it provide up to 850 horsepower (625 kW). At last, the company will offer XL wheel/tire combinations with diameters of up to 21 inches for the wheel houses of the S-Class.

  • German Special Customs 2013 Mercedes-Benz ML Widebody Kit

German Special Customs has announced their latest project based on the 2013 Mercedes-Benz ML-Class. The big SUV comes with a complete widebody kit and some other interesting styling upgrades.

The exterior boasts a massive front spoiler lip with narrow ventilation openings for supplying the front brake system with fresh air. Specially manufactured mud guard extensions for the front and rear axles ensure a clearly massive and intimidating appearance. GSC developed a completely new bumper bar including diffuser for the rear side as well as integrated end-pipe covers made of the company’s own stainless steel sports exhaust system. The optical modification of ML’s body shell is rounded up by a set of carbon covers for the external mirrors.

The stance is improved thanks to an air suspension lowering module and a set of 10J x 22” light alloy wheels fitted with 295/30 R22 tires.

The interior received offers a complete set of ornamental parts made of carbon fibre as well as tailor-made leather/Alcantara solutions for the seats and an upgrade of the speed indicator scaling to 350 km/h.

  • German Special Customs Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG

German Special Customs has announced their sensational tuning package for the stunning Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG. The name of the project is “Stealth” and we can see, why!

The 5.5 liter twin-turbo V8 is boosted to whopping 750HP (551 kW) and 1,150Nm (848 lb-ft) of torque. This is an increase of 225HP (165 kW) and 451Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to so much power, the four-door coupe accelerates to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).

The result is thanks to one set of bigger turbochargers, an additional water cooler for the charge air intercooler and a new exhaust system.

Other performance upgrades include a KW coil-over suspension with adjustable dampers on the front axle. The mounted Michelin high-performance tires of the dimensions 255/30R20 and 305/25R20 made of the own-brand alloy wheels of the dimensions 9J x 20” and 10.5J x 20” generate sufficient grip.

The exterior boasts new front bumper with built-in LED daytime running lights, a redesigned hood with air vent, different side skirts and fenders, four-pipe exhaust, along with a new rear bumper that has a carbon fiber diffuser and side air outlets.

The interior features an Aventador-inspired orange elements combined with a black finish and several carbon fiber inserts.

  • German Special Customs Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Stealth

German-Special-Customs-Mercedes-Benz-CLS63-AMG-Stealth-THUMBGerman Special Customs Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Stealth is an aerodynamic construction set to capture the hearts of the true customization fans of Mercedes-Benz. The CLS63 AMG is definitely everything else but inconspicuous because of its luminary orange color taken from the Lamborghini Aventador color range.

To go further into details, the front bumper bar of this machine is equipped with integrated LED daytime running lights. This gives it more aggressive appearance in combination with the new engine hood and its abundant hot air outlet in an even more significant manner. In addition, the GSC tuners have added new fenders and new side skirts with shaft.

Looking at the rear of the car, the aggressive design theme is continued thanks to the new bumper with integrated carbon-fiber diffuser and side air outlets. What is more, the angular end-pipes of a four-pipe sports exhaust system from high-grade steel were integrated in the diffuser.

The result is an audible effect of the powerful 5.5 liter Biturbo-V8 unit that generates 750 hp (552 kW) and has a maximum torque of 1150 Newton meters (850 lb-ft). This means that there is additional 225 horsepower (165 kW) in contrast to the serial vehicle.

The extra force came through the “eight pointer” amongst others, one set of bigger turbo charger, an additional water cooler for the charge air intercooler and a new exhaust system. The outcome is that the Stealth accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 350 km/h.

The handling was also optimized. GSC installed a KW coil-over suspension with adjustable dampers on the front axle. Moreover, the car runs on Michelin high-performance tires of the dimensions 255/30R20 and 305/25R20 made of the own-brand alloy wheels of the dimensions 9×20 and 10.5×20 inches.

At last, the interior enhancements are analogous to the exterior casing, the passenger gets a colorful ambience with orange-colored Lamborghini leather and diverse carbon applications.

  • GSC Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG

GSC-Mercedes-Benz-CLS-thumbGerman Special Customs (GSC), based in Chemnitz, Germany, like to add their own touch on already slightly mad vehicles. Take for example, the Mercedes-Benz CLS 63AMG (W218) – impressive enough, isn’t it? Well, the way they see it, there’s always room for improvement.

The front bumper is new and harbors massive lower mesh grills and some LEDs. The hood has also been replaced with something that is most certainly not waterproof. Move to the sides and you’ll notice that the side skirts are now a bit more pronounced and as for the back, the bumper is entirely new along with its carbony rear diffuser. GSC have dubbed the whole aerodynamic project as “Stealth” which sounds inappropriate since it’s pretty noticeable. However, it does make the car very edgy and slightly unconventional much like F117 Nighthawk airplane – designed to deflect radar signals. In addition, that matte overall finish makes us think that this particular AMG has been borrowed from the set of The Avengers movie.

And much like Captain America, this CLS has also been scientifically buffed. Normally, AMG manage to pump out 525 hp from its 5.5 bi-turbo V8. GSC have raised that bar up to 750 hp and 1,150 Nm of torque. In order to achieve that, the company’s engineers replaced the two turbochargers with ones that are… well… bigger, replaced the exhaust system and have also added another intercooler. As a result, the “Stealth” now does the 0 to 100 kph sprint in just 3.7 seconds and will continue gathering velocity until it reaches 350 km/h.

That however, would not have been possible with the performance upgrade alone. To tame all that power, a more-proper suspension is needed and that’s where a KW coilover adjustable suspension kit comes in place. Take into account the 20-inch rims, the 255/30R20 and 295/25R20 Continental tires on them and you get a well rounded ultra-performance four-seater.
