To go into details, the XV Concept embodies Subaru’s new ‘DYNAMIC X SOLID’ design philosophy. The sides of the model are sleek, mimicking a normal car but at the same time staying a true crossover.

The muscular body and forms are sized 4.520mm in length, 1.920mm in width, 1.570mm in height and a wheelbase of 2.670mm. These dimensions speak of added practicality. The surfaces of the body are divided by two strong character lines. The front end includes Subaru’s signature hexagonal grille and ‘hawk-eye’ headlamps, matt black body cladding running from the front bumper and going over the wheel arches, and speaking of the sides there are side sills tat flow into the rear bumper. The back of the crossover concept is wide, low and stable and matt black-clad rear bumpers and combination lamps with the same design motif as the ‘hawk-eye’ headlamps.

The paint finish you see here is specifically developed for the concept and is called ‘Glacier Khaki Silica’. Contrasting orange accents appear on the grille, front and rear bumpers, 19-inch aluminium wheels and roof rails. At last, the alloys were fitted with tires sized at 245/50 R19.

  • Kia Sportage MY2014 Update Debuts At Geneva

2014-Kia-Sportage-shadow2014-Kia-Sportage-mediumWith the Geneva Motor Show drawing nearer, we get all kinds of news: interesting, prolific, and downright mind blowing. This is neither of these, but we’ll deliver nevertheless. It’s the slightly updated Kia Sportage range for this year.

Here’s the deal: the MY2014 gets a new premium sound system, FlexSteer (Kia’s selectable steering feedback) as standard, a heated steering wheel, and trailer stability control. In terms of refinement, the interior is, apparently, less noisy thanks to an even more stream defying windshield. Bush-mounted subframes and new transmission mounting brackets bring about further improvements to the overall ride quality.

We guess beauty is in the details since there’s nothing else to be said about the update. Surprisingly enough, the Spotage is Kia’s best-selling model in Europe. Back in 2013 there were a total of 89,553 models sold. That’s a year-on-year increase of 10.5 percent. Clever moves like that are sure to keep that trend going.

  • 2012 Geneva Motor Show: Maserati GranTurismo Sport

Maserati GranTurismo Sport will be the successor of the GranTurismo S. It is currently exhibited at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

The sports car is powered by a 4.7-liter V8 engine with 460 PS (338 kW) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox or 6-speed electro actuated gearbox, with dry twin-plate clutch.

The new GranTurismo Sport is fitted with the Sport Skyhook system, an evolution of the continuous damping control system that makes the car even more reactive and fun to drive, whilst at the same time increasing passenger comfort. In SPORT mode the car is pin sharp in responding to the driver’s input, while in normal mode it constantly adapts the damping to absorb the roughness of the surface for a smoother ride. All this equates to a superb handling capability that combines sports performance and comfort in all driving conditions.

The exterior comes with minor changes – revised front bumper, new badge and new headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights.

The interior features new seats and a new steering wheel, and aluminum pedals. The seats are upholstered in Poltrona Frau leather. There are also some EcoChrome grey accents.

With these characteristics, the new GranTurismo Sport follows in the footsteps of one of the most successful cars in the entire history of Maserati.
