  • Meet the First Production Rocket

GAS Fisker Ford Mustang Rocket Front AngleThe Rocket is a project which you probably remember from the L.A. Auto Show, when it was unveiled only in a prototype form. It is based on the latest Mustang and designed by Henrik Fisker and Galpin Auto Sports. What’s new is that the first production carbon-fiber infused 725 HP super-Mustang made debut this weekend at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance.

L.A. impressed us with the fact that the car was inspired by those very iconic pony cars of the 1960s and early 1970s, like the 1968 Shelby GT500. The next thing was the extensive use of carbon fiber including the body panels and some additional performance and visual upgrades.

Now, it was officially announced that the limited series will be offered in various exterior colors like the “Eminence Grise” which is actually a combination of back, Ingot silver and Magnetic (grey). The other colors in the range include Oxford White, Race Red, Deep Impact Blue and Competition Orange. Although these shades catch the eye immediately we must say that there are other exterior options that can’t be left unmentioned: exposed carbon fiber hood stripe, mirror covers and lower front fascia.

Inside, the car is as special as it should be, because it is equipped with the Rocket Interior Package. Outstanding about it are the seats wrapped in Italian leather. The same material is used for the upholstery of various other elements like the dash board and center console, and even A, B and C pillars.

In terms of performance we mentioned that the muscle car can produce 725 hp (533 kW), and this is due to the addition of the Mustang performance package. Brembo 6-piston front brake calipers with larger rotors take care for the stopping power, and they are hidden behind the ADV1 10-spoke 21-inch wheels. And you won’t definitely miss the presence of this Rocket if it’s near because Bassani ensured that there is a very loud cat-back exhaust system with quad tip, which produces rigorous sound.

The Rocket has price tag starting at $109,100 USD.

  • Galpin Auto Sports Reveals SEMA-bound Ford Mustang

Galpin-Auto-Sports-Ford-Mustang-THUMBThe SEMA-bound Galpin Auto Sports Ford Mustang is a special vehicle which comes to celebrate the golden anniversary of the production Mustang. The modified pony car features a special gold theme, enhanced engine, custom LEDs and other intricate tweaks. Galpin Auto Sports (GAS) is the tuning arm of the largest Ford dealer in the United States. 2015 GAS Mustang embodies a golden anniversary design philosophy and will be of course premiered at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show.

At first the tuners gave a facelift to the iconic model via a new front fascia, which was restyled to match the three strakes found in the factory headlights. In details, the new headlights now integrate LED turn signals and turn on in sequence to match the rear turn signals. In addition, there have been also installed a carbon fiber front splitter and rocker panels as well as a more aggressive rear diffuser.

Under the hood of this Mustang is positioned the Whipple supercharger, which has been custom powder-coated to appear gold.  It sits atop the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine. The integrated into the hood glass window has the purpose to show off the engine. More importantly, these modifications are not only a cosmetic change, but also signify a boost in the power output. The engine generates the astounding 725 horsepower (533 kW).

Next, the car is also equipped with suspension components delivered by Steeda and new exhaust by Magnaflow. GAS also reveal that with this black and gold idea, they wanted to get the color as close to 24-carat gold as possible. Speaking of which, this GAS Mustang will be running on 20-inch wheels finished in gold. In the same color are also the side sills, brake calipers and badging.

Inside, the same black-gold theme can be found on the entire range of elements which were previously chrome or metallic. Recaro seats are covered with a fabric finished in black and gold, and the headliner is black microsuede. And if you think that the exterior is finished in paint that appears black, then you will be surprised to see that it is actually filled with gold metallic flecks.

Ford-F-150-Crime-Fighter-Bat-Truck-THUMBSince Comic-Con has just started we have already seen some unique vehicles made for this event. An example from yesterday is the Kia Sorento Justice League Car. Now it is time for more aggressive vehicle to take our attention – the Ford F-150 Crime Fighter Bat Truck.

This magnificently tuned Ford pays tribute to the original Batmobile. The reason for its existence is the work of the specialists at Galpin Auto Sports, who have built it after the design of Jared Barris.

As a matter of fact, Jared is a grandson of George Barris, who designed and built the iconic first Batmobile back in 1965. George used parts found at a hardware store and the body of a Ford Futura Concept Car.

The result was stunning and made Barris a legend among custom car designers. The original Batmobile was auctioned in January this year for the amount of $4.2 million.

Now Jared Barris is debuting his own version of the Batmobile which is built on the emblematic Ford F-150 and pays tribute to his grandfather’s Batmobile. He envisioned the new version of the superhero’s vehicle as a Bat Truck and has given it the name “The Crimefighter”.

The Ford was customized by Galpin Auto Sports with a tuxedo black paint job and Ferrari red accents, thanks to which the resemblance with the original Batmobile is stunning. In addition, the bed of the Crimefighter has even been adorned with fins. The vehicle is powered by a Ford 5.0-liter V8 engine.
