Only 500 units will be produced for the Australian market while an additional 50 units are heading to New Zealand. All of them will get a 5.0 liter supercharged V8 with 477HP (351 kW) and 570Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque. • FPV Ford Falcon GT RSPEC Limited Edition Series

FPV-Ford-Falcon-GT-RSPEC-Limited-Edition-Series-THUMBFord Performance Vehicles, or mainly known only as FPV, has just launched the new FPV Ford Falcon GT RSPEC Limited Edition Series. The vehicle is based on Ford Falcon GT and has been developed to deliver racetrack-inspired handling.

The limited edition FPV includes considerably recalibrated suspension package, new wider 9inch rear wheels with 275/35 R19 Dunlop Sports Maxx tyres and Launch Control.

The exterior styling of the car is undoubtedly inspired by the legendary 1969 Boss Mustang judging by its unique stripe package and paint treatment. Despite the inspiring new outlook of the car, under the bonnet the new GT RSPEC is unchanged. It stays powered by FPV’s all-aluminium ‘Miami’ BOSS 335 5.0-litre supercharged engine.

This new model was created with the aim to optimize the amazing performance of its now legendary 335kW 5.0Lt supercharged V8 engine by the means of improving the chassis’ capabilities, to deliver the ultimate driving package.

In details, what has been done here is that the rear suspension of the GT RSPEC is now modified and has higher spring rates, re-tuned dampers, larger anti-roll bar, and reinforced rear lower control arms. At the same time the front suspension has stiffer upper control arm bushes, stiffer front upper suspension strut mounts, and re-tuned dampers.

The cornering grip is now improved due to the new 9″ rear wheels in combination with the 275 tyre. Also to this adds the improved traction during launch and when exiting corners. A modified toe setting on the rear wheel alignment also delivers bettered turn-in response.

Furthermore, the stiffer transmission and driveline movement under load make the perfect driving quality, while the addition of Launch Control delivers consistent performance when accelerating from rest, reducing the amount of wheel slip.

One-of-a-kind exterior features here are the lower and upper grille surrounds, fog lamp bezels, mirrors scalps, high performance spoiler with GT decal, and black painted exhaust tips. A distinctive GT RSPEC badge can be seen on the lower left hand side boot lid.

How about the interior? Here one can see shadow leather sports seats with GT logo embroidery, which are complemented by a piano black finish around the ICC unit, tissue box and door spears.

FPV Ford Falcon GT RSPEC Limited Edition Series is limited up to only 350 units and will be available in four color combinations. Exactly 175 of those committed to the “hero” color scheme of Silhouette (black) with Vixen (red) accents. The other 175 units will be made up of Winter White, Vixen (red) and Kinetic (blue) with Silhouette (black) accents. The starting price of this FPV model will begin at $76 990.

FPV (Ford Performance Vehicles) has today announced the launch the GT Black. The vehicle is practically the same as FPV Concept, which was recently introduced.

The exterior boasts a Silhouette black paint with matte decals on the bonnet, rear wing and bodyside. There is also a big rear spoiler, darkened headlights and enormous 19” five-spoke alloy wheels fitted with low profile performance tires.

The interior comes with black leather trim throughout, a black finish around the Interior Command Centre (ICC) unit, tissue box and door spears, and a unique black gear shift badge on manual transmission models.

“We were totally blown away by the positive feedback received from fans and show-goers on our Concept”, said FPV General Manager Rod Barrett.

“We knew we had a winner with the black paintwork and we wanted to action something immediately. The public spoke and we listened and I am just thrilled we have been able to put the GT BLACK into production so quickly”, he added.

“All the feedback received has been collated and the results present exciting possibilities for the FPV brand in the future. The GT BLACK is the beginning of some exciting times ahead as we continue to work on new product and design enhancements to reflect the needs and wants of the market”, Mr. Barrett finished.

FPV GT Black is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 supercharged V8 with 455PS (335 kW) and 570Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque. The power is put on the road through rear-wheel drive with LSD.

  • Ford Performance Vehicle Concept

Ford will exhibit FPV GT Concept at the 2011 Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne. The sinister all-black GT-based FPV concept features a number of bespoke features and design solutions not seen before.

“Taking our iconic FPV GT, we have put together a package of performance and design enhancements to demonstrate what could be done by FPV in the future,”, said Rod Barrett, Ford Performance Vehicles General Manager.

“The black-on-black treatment looks spectacular and it really changes the look of the car, so I’ll be very interested to hear what FPV enthusiasts think.”, he added.

The car is powered by the Boss 5.0 liter V8 with 455PS (335 kW) and a hefty 570Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque. No further technical data is revealed, but you have to expect RWD with LSD and manual gearbox, hopefully.

The FPV stands on enormous 8J x 19” rims at the front and 9.5J x 19” at the rear fitted with Dunlop SP Sportmaxx GT tires. The brakes are decent, too – 6-piston up front and 4-piston for the rear wheels.

The interior boasts black leather trim throughout and an all-black dash treatment that includes the interior command centre (ICC).
