  • All you need to know about 2017 Kia Forte Sedan Facelift

2017 Kia Forte Sedan EX side view2017 Kia Forte Sedan is here and it comes equipped with some impressive goodies. In short, the refreshed Forte packs new exterior styling, new base engine with improved fuel economy and performance, and a range of updated convenience and driver-assistance features. Here is what you need to know, if you go for a 2017 Forte Sedan buy.

Starting with the exterior enhancements, up front the car adds a new bumper and “tiger nose” grille. The latter has been extended to make a link between the refreshed headlights that could be specified with optional Xenon HID lights. The external redesign is harmonized with the newly designed taillights that also come with available LEDs.

SEE ALSO: 2017 Kia Sportage is Not Only Agile, but Also Safe. Here is What You Need to Know

There are three trims available for the new model year, namely LX trim, the sporty S trim and the range topping EX. While there isn’t anything special about the LX (on the outside), the S trim adds sport-tuned suspension, 16-inch alloys, standard LEDs, rear spoiler, and a chrome exhaust tip. The EX stands out the most with its LED taillights, 17-inch alloys, Smart Key and front door pocket lighting.

On the inside, the LX and S trims get cloth materials for the seats. What differentiates the S trim from the LX is that the first features exclusive black cloth seats with white contrasting stitching as well as a leather steering wheel and shift knob.

The top-of-the-range EX shows-off with leather seats (the front ones feature heating function), dual-zone full automatic temperature control, rear vents, and a push-button start with Smart Key. UVO35 telematics is standard for the S and EX, offering more in-vehicle connectivity by allowing drivers to use the touchscreen for smartphone functions.

Kia’s navigation system and Drive Mode System have too suffered upgrades. As for the list of available advanced driver assistance systems, it has been extended and now offers the following: Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and Rear-Cross Traffic Alert.

The most important change that Kia has made is probably the substitution of the 1.8-liter inline-4 cylinder unit with a 2.0-liter Atkinson I-4 paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The new engine produces 147 horsepower (108 kW) at 6,200 rpm and 179 Nm (132 lb-ft) of torque at 4,500 rpm. The other engine option is the 2.0-liter GDI I-4 that comes with six-speed automatic and produces 164 hp (120 kW) at 6,200 rpm and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque at 4,000 rpm.

2017 Kia Forte Sedan will be produced in Monterrey, Mexico. Pricing to be announced soon.

  • Kia Goes Bad For SEMA with Forte Koup Mud Bogger

Kia Forte Koup Mud Bogger Front ViewKia Forte Koup Mud Bogger is one of the six custom vehicles that the company is going to present at the SEMA Show this year. The ‘car’ looks like it is chasing adventures and this definitely intrigues us, because Kia said that each of the hand-built concepts showcases unique geographic regions found throughout the country.

This of course has its aim and it is to show the variety of car cultures that define America’s way of looking at automobiles. If you wonder which part of the US is representing the Forte Koup Mud Bogger, we should immediately tell you that it is the wild American South. But you probably have already figured this, since the image depicts the inexplicable joy of getting dirty on all fours.

SEE ALSO: Kia cee’d Lineup Receives Some New Engines

And even with a single look at this unique Koup, we can surely say that it can tackle any extreme terrain. This is because of its huge four-inch body and suspension lift as well as the gigantic 28-inch off-road rubbers.

It is necessary to add that to accommodate the massive wheel and tire combination, Kia has widened the fenders and side skirts and added extra riveted fender flares. Another cool thing about this Bogger is that it features rather luxurious panoramic roof with a vinyl pushback top. This is how the sun can shine over the stripped-down interior where the carpet has been removed and the entire floor has been lined with Line-X protective coating.

How about the stock seats? They have all been replaced with two Sparco Evo II Red Race Seats and hand-built roll cage in powder coated white. To sum up, the Kia Forte Koup Mud Bogger is definitely for those looking for off-road fun that will take them to a road less traveled.

  • 2015 KIA Forte

    2015-KIA-Forte-651

What I love about the 2015 KIA Forte is its five doors. Perfectly suited for recreational lifestyle or if you just need room for work or play, the hatchback provides excellent versatility. What makes this car a number one seller, is that it combines in a long list of standard equipment with incredible value starting at just $23,980.

The Forte comes in a four-door sedan; two-door coupe. It has three trim levels: The “LX” with a 1.8-liter engine, starting at just $20,980. Its equipment is often found on higher trim levels. Like standard AC power equipment, heated wipers, body colored mirrors and door handles. The next trim level is the sporty “EX” which has a more powerful 2.0-liter engine.

Let’s move to the SX model which comes with the highest training equipment level. In addition to the long list of standard equipment, like navigation, sunroof and duo climate control, it comes standard with the all-new 1.6-liter, 201 hp (149 kW) turbocharged four-cylinder engine. A choice of either six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, with paddle shift on the steering wheel.

When you combine KIA’s aggressive rebates and finance programs with this long list of standrat equipment, you won’t be disappointed. The EX comes with 2-liter 173 hp (129 kW) gas direct injection engine with an automatic transmission that provides superior handling. Inside the cabin we immediately notice a sophisticated leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted controls, including cruise control and hands-free Bluetooth, rear center console in 60/40 rear back seat and auto-dimming rear view mirror. KIA has also installed an UVO infotainment system, as well as rear view backup camera which helps you maneuver the car with an ease in reverse gear.

As for as the exterior the Forte has automatic headlights. The hatchback versatility, it comes with an optional sunroof, as well as the famous five-year “worry free” comprehensive warranty that basically covers everything on the vehicle.17-inch alloy wheels, outside chrome door handles and molding.

KIA never compromises on safety. The Forte comes with ADS brakes, Hill Assist Control, Electronic Stability and Traction Control and available rear view camera on “EX” and “SX” trims. The trunk is really spacious with a large cargo friendly rear hatch.

The line between luxury, practicality and fun is really thin in the 2015 KIA Forte. If you are looking for a fast, luxurious and stylish car the Forte is your best bet.

  • Kia Forte Cabrio [render]

X-Tomi Design has published a render picture of a cabrio version of the 2014 Kia Forte (also known as Cerato or K3). The manufacturer is currently selling the second-gen Forte as a five-door hatchback, four-door sedan and as a two-door coupe.

So a convertible model is a very good idea, which can attract more customers. The segment for affordable cabriolets isn’t overly crowded, that’s why a low-priced Forte Cabrio could be a hit in this department.

The Forte Cabrio is based on the 2-door coupe and it has a nice attractive exterior. Obviously, there isn’t much space at the rear seats, but the model will certainly draw some attention in the entry-level convertible segment.
